3101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - next generation platform, Secured by Bitcoin on: February 23, 2019, 12:07:42 PM
   WHAT?Huh

i HAVE MY kOMODOS on a ledger nano s , they've been there for a year.
Am I loosing them now???

No, read the news properly. Your KMD on Nano Ledger are stored on a Komodo address (starting with R...). The sapling only concerned coins that were stored on private Z-addresses that are used to send Komodo anonymously. So, your coins are save. Just check up by accessing your Ledger Nano wallet.

3102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BTCP] BitcoinPrivate: A Truly Private Bitcoin [Equihash] on: February 23, 2019, 11:55:59 AM
Is there a converter or a program to transform Bitcoin addresses to Bitcoin Private addresses?
I am just wondering how I can get to know if I receive coins from the fork.

3105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins are the new money, is this true? on: February 22, 2019, 07:49:08 PM
Stable coins are contrary to what the original idea of cryptocurrencies was. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin should be a counterpart to the fiat money of states and banks. Stable coins are in most cases tied to fiat money. For a stable coin token a USD is deposited (sometime also resources like crude oil or gold). That's why a stable coin loses value through inflation like fiat money and is based on its underlying value. In addition, one must trust the authority that holds the USD/Gold/crude oil in return, usually a bank aga or a centralized organisation in.
3106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why Bounty Hunters Hate KYC !!! on: February 22, 2019, 07:39:25 PM
I do not like to send my documents to any sites. It seems to me that this could be dangerous. That is why I do not like KYS.

What most people here don't know, those KYC services do usually locate in countries with low data privacy standards. Some services even do not provide information where they are located. No one gurantees that data is not sold. I know from dark net forums that data from KYC processes can be bought there. Those data usually contain name and address, often passport and bill photos. Data from users coming from industrial countries are more worth than data from other countries.

So the chance that your personal data is offered in those despicable sources is high. And nobody knows who buy the data and for which use cases they are used. I personally have never conducted a KYC and I'll never do one for bounties or airdrops.
3107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VITE] [DAG + Smart Contract] Vite | Asynchronous Architecture on: February 21, 2019, 05:43:30 PM
But the testnet tokens will be converted 1:1 into real VITE tokens, right? And Bittrex will support your new blockchain coins in the future?

Correct, all test net tokens will be converted to real Vite tokens. I assume that Bitterex will support the new blockchain after mainnet release. But you never know for sure. As we know from the past, low volume tokens are quickly delisted. Vite has great technology, so I'm confident.

Google Registers Bitcoin.dev as New Domain TLD Goes Public

If you were eyeing ownership of bitcoin.dev while waiting for Google to release the new TLD officially, that chance is long gone. A redditor with the name “salsa-system” posted a couple of hours ago that Google has registered both the bitcoin.dev and blockchain.dev domains on Tuesday (February 19, 2019).

3109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VITE] [DAG + Smart Contract] Vite | Asynchronous Architecture on: February 20, 2019, 07:26:20 PM
I am not planning Cheesy. I am just asking. It would be nice to earn some coins that have a real value.
Vite is listed on Bittrex, there are not many coins listed here.

Notice that the coins that can be traded on Bittrex are VITE ERC20 tokens while you receive VITE testnet tokens for the signature campaign and airdrops. I explained it in this post already. So, as long as the main net is not started (planned in Q3 2019), you can not exchange your tokens on Bittrex.
3110  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I get price alerts on a specific amount on Bitcoin? on: February 19, 2019, 07:44:16 PM
You can use CoinWink, you have the ability to set the alerts using email or SMS based on either a specific price or percentage.

Besides this, there is coinmarketalert.com. It offers many variants of alerts (price, coinmarketcap, arbitrage opportunities and so one). You can be notified via Email, browser alert, telegram or discord channel alert. I use it for a while and it works good.
3111  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-18] Tim Draper Predicts Crypto Will Rule, Only Criminals Will Use Cash on: February 19, 2019, 04:42:23 PM
Cash is less traceable if it won't go through any bank or third party agencies. Sort of hand to hand cash payment.

Cash is an anonymous way to pay. But no less than some private blockchain-based technology. Thus, Tim Draper can relate his statement only to traceable blockchain transactions.

Tim Draper Predicts Crypto Will Rule, Only Criminals Will Use Cash in Five Years

Billionaire investor and known Bitcoin (BTC) bull Tim Draper argued that in five years, only criminals will use fiat as crypto becomes universally widespread. Draper made his claims in an interview with American financial news tv channel Fox Business released on Feb. 18.

It is clever. Just turn the tables. Something like that is called framing.
3113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Documentary about Bitcoin on: February 18, 2019, 05:53:34 PM
Out of curiosity, I've search whether there are any Bitcoin or cryptocurrency related movie or series on Netflix and guess what... I've found one!
-snip-

Banking on Bitcoin is a good movie but almost three years old. The information in it is partly from the years 2014 and 2015. A very long time in the blockchain area. There are newer movies, documentaries and series about Bitcoin. Time ago, I created a collection thread where Banking on Bitcoin is listed.

3115  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: Modum - Diskussions Tread on: February 18, 2019, 05:39:34 PM

3116  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Universelles Bedingungsloses Grundeinkommen mit Kryptowährungen on: February 17, 2019, 07:59:13 PM

3117  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-15]Cryptocurrency Payments in Venezuela Subject to 15% Commission on: February 17, 2019, 07:10:31 PM
I haven't seen much of an indication that people there are using the Petro.

As far as I can tell it STILL doesn't exist in any form whatsoever beyond blag. I've seen photos of Venezuelan pensioners being given Petro IOUs which they must be absolutely delighted with. There's a good possibility it's never going to exist.

I also recently searched for signs of Petro use, but could not find anything.

The Petro was not introduced to be used by the Venezuelan people. That was never the intention of the government. Officially everything is alright in Venezuela. The Petro was introduced to bring stable foreign currencies into the country, also to support the national currency, which has insane inflation. In order to gain the confidence of the foreign investors the token was secured with oil. The only question is, who assures this.
3118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: February 17, 2019, 07:04:28 PM
this is probably the last version of the wallet https://github.com/Qoracoin/Qora/releases

It is the latest. I am wondering why that version was announced on Reddit three days ago, however the Github release date of that version is 26th September 2018.

Nevertheless, I am still looking for a blockchain download. Synchronization stopped at 418479. Added all peers I could find in the last 10 pages of this thread.
