Phantastisch Memorial Day.

Trauriger Anniversary Embarrassed

Two interesting odds for matches to bet for tonight.

The Netherlands vs. Italy
According to bookmakers, the Netherlands are clear favorite (win NL 2.35 vs win IT 3.25). I would see the match more equalized so a bet on a win of Italy could be a good chance at very good odds. Or double chance Italy at 2.19 is also a good opportunity.

Austria vs. Romania
The bookmakers see Austria as the winning team (win AT 1.69 vs. win RO 5.6). I see a good chance to go for double chance Romania at 3.9.

Had good picks yesterday and made a nice profit. Both ideas worked out. Italy won 0 - 1 (bet on double chance Italy at 2.19) and Romania won also 2 - 3 against Austria. I also picked double chance for Romania at 3.9.
I do not see any good opportunity for today so I pass and hope the third matchday will bring up good opportunities again.

Bin gespannt ob wieder jemand darauf hereinfällt.

2186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reminder Everyone: If You Don't Have The Keys, Then It's Not Your Crypto on: September 07, 2020, 01:27:26 PM
I just lost 78.82 usd worth of bitcoins I left on one of our local exchangers here

Everyone who get into crypto should first learn that the holy grail of your crypto fortune are your private keys. If you lose them you lose everything. No third instance will help you.
To be honest, your loss is acceptable compared to many other losses out there which partly go into millions of dollars. Take it as a (cheap) lesson to not leave your coins on a centralized exchange not matter how legit the exchange may seem like.

Can our ISP still do that even if we are using VPN to mask our real IP address? I mean, can they know that we are accessing the gambling sites? It would be helpful to me if I get the right answer as I have friends that has an static IP who gambled without using VPN.

It would depend on your VPN, yes, but your ISP always tracks you the moment you connect, and not all VPNs are private enough or good enough that they can hide your trail. You've got to do a lot more than connect to a VPN these days (unless it's a good one). Every visit leaves an electronic breadcrumb.

Good VPN extensions ...

If you mean with "good VPN extensions" browser plugins which says they are VPNs then you are wrong. Such extensions are not really VPS, they are proxies which claim to be VPNs. That's why they are for free. If you want to have a good VPN you need to sign a plan at an established VPN provider.

Messi in very end of his career does not want to gamble with a strange coach whom he has not yet worked with before. So from this point of view, Pep is the best coach for Messi. Pep won't leave Manchester City so Messi will come to join the party with Pep.

I doubt that Messi can really help Manchester City. He is 33 and English football is different from the one he used to know in Spain. The game system would have to be adapted to him, which means that ManCity would have to change its current system. That would be bad for a well-rehearsed team. Besides, it would take at least a season to make it work. By then Messi will be 34, almost 35, and none of this will work.

Although English football is totally different than Spanish.  I think English gameplay is faster than Spanish.

It differs much from Spanish football. I wouldn't say that English soccer is faster, but at least it is rougher and more intense. Messi is one for the Tiki-Taka game but certainly not someone who can play his strengths in fighting games. The best example was the lost World Cup final in 2014, it was an intense fighting game and Messi couldn't play his game and that's why he and his team didn't come to fruition at that time. But the discussion has become superfluous anyway after Messi will stay in Barcelona.

Both points very true.
Germany has a very crypto-friendly regulations...

If you would ever had the experience with the tax office regarding crypto in Germany, you wouldn't dare to make such a statement Smiley Seriously, Germany may be ahead of some states in crypto regulation, but there are still so many unclear issues that often make it difficult to handle with crypto. I have friends in Switzerland and Austria where many things are much easier and more regulated than in Germany. That there is an ETP is also nothing special.

Easy or not, I'd be ecstatic to be able to hold for 1+ year and not pay any capital gains tax. Sounds pretty crypto-friendly to me. That's a pipe dream on this side of the Atlantic.

Well, if you hold it less than a year you pay your personal income tax on gains what means up to 45%. This in turn is then no longer crypto-friendly. The 1+ year rule is not a crypto specific rule and was just overtaken from non-monetary goods where this tax approach is applied for decades, just as for Gold, Silver and similar assets. If it would be regulated properly, then it should be equated with share profits, on which one pays a lump sum of 25% in Germany no matter how long one holds the shares. This would be really crytpo-friendly.
2191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is predictably a guarantee in an uncertain world on: September 04, 2020, 01:50:48 PM
I agree with you in some of your points but not in the predictability. I don't think Bitcoin and cryptos are really that predictable. The prices also depend very much on political acceptance. If there should be e.g. a world-wide prohibition of crypto currencies (up-to-date it does not look like it), then the prices could go fast down. In addition also nobody knows how the arising national digital currencies will affect the crypto currencies.

2193  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it alright to invest with bitcoin at the current market price? on: September 03, 2020, 08:35:53 AM
In my opinion, it is not the right time to invest in Bitcoin because it can go down very deep and you will lose money. It happened to me before. Take a look at the Bitcoin chart in the last few years to see what I am talking about.

You have probably made the mistake to buy exactly in a hype phase. From a hype the price can always fall down very low. Indeed, the past has often shown that several times. Even if the price is currently very high, there are no signs that we are in a hype phase again. We are not even close to the all-time high prices and the crypto market is getting strong support from the fiat currency policy all over the world and the increasing acceptance and applications. So a long term investor can buy even if it can go down a bit in the short term.
2194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BBC Sports Personality 2020 on: September 03, 2020, 08:30:50 AM
From the list shown, it must Lewis Hamilton. I am not really a fan of him but he is without doubt a great athlete who can even become the greatest in Formula 1 this season. The other nominees didn't do nearly as great and the 2019 season was just perfect for him. It would be a disappointment if he would not win it.

There is also a good case for Lewis Hamilton, won his 6th titles, second place in all time list behind the great Schumacher. Of course he could have accomplished more this 2020 and move first in the all time list, but we all know that the pandemic affected a lot of sports. So it will be really a toss up between him and Tyson Fury. But I wouldn't be surprised Hamilton win this one.

The new season has started promisingly for him. I don't see any serious competition this year, which is why I expect him to overtake Schuhmachers record this year and become the biggest in the sport. As I said, I am not a fan of him but you have to acknowledge his achievements.

2197  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos Withdrawal Fees Rise | August 2020 🔥 on: September 03, 2020, 08:17:33 AM
Hell, I didn't even notice too although I have not withdrawn from casino for more than a month almost as I'm having regular bets these days. Although, LN isn't get much attention yet and not much casino allows LN payments, I guess people should bet on casinos which allow LN if they are quite worried about the fee.

People prefer to withdraw in altcoins because that cost them less fee. Also many people have no knowledge about Lighting Network LN. Regular gamblers who gamble daily do not need to withdraw often and usually they withdraw if they are in need of money.

Two points on your post. You are right. But, even if you have knowledge about the Lighting Network, there are not many casinos yet which support LN transactions. I have already written to some sites (not only casinos), whether they also offer LN transactions, almost all were negative or the statement came that they want to offer it at some point. Your second point that regular gamblers do not have to withdraw often is critical. Because if you have gains you should payout regularly and keep only a limited amount on your casino account, because you never know if the casino still exists tomorrow.
2198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does bounty still kind of worth on 2020? on: September 03, 2020, 08:13:28 AM
The problem with the weekly bounties that pay in Bitcoin or large coins is that they have difficult conditions and a very limited number of participants,...

The thread is about Altcoin bounties not for Bitcoin. As far as I understood the thread creator complains about the low bounties of new projects  which is mainly due to the fewer ICOs and regulations. The Bitcoin campaigns also pay less than before, but these are still acceptable especially for higher ranking members. Others have it much more difficult than in the boom years 2016 to 2018.
