- It was like they needed to be the headline instead of Man U:

  • Man U: Surely, we're now the worst team for this week!
  • Liverpool: Hold my beer Grin

The Liverpool defeat with this result was quite surprising. Also the high defeat of Manchester United was very strange. It seems that the title race is completely open for this season. And maybe with Everton there is a surprising team like Leichester 2015/16 or Blackburn Rovers 1994/95.
2102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Godfrey Bloom makes his first BTC purchase on: October 05, 2020, 12:51:03 PM
When successful boomers like him start to buy bitcoin you know mainstream adoption is coming. More & more people are starting to open their eyes to the scam of fiat currencies & normal banking.

Bitcoin is coming!

So far he is unfortunately still the exception of the Boomer generation. There are comparatively few of this generation which go offensively with the fact to the public that they bought Bitcoin. When I read the title of his book (and he himself believes in the collapse of the banking system), his Bitcoin purchase is a logical step.

I was hoping that the change of the Coach maybe will bring a bit to the Schalke Team and they playing better !
But that they get again 4 Goals without score 1 that i havnt expected.
I placed my bet on Leipzig so all is good with that one .

Looks like some hard days coming to Schalke.
you better call it as 'a hard season' Tongue

and the new coach Baum will not survive this season on schalke either - who's betting against it? Grin

I also think that Manuel Baum is just a stopgap until the winter break so that Schalke can find a permanent solution in peace. Baum is not a coach to build a top team in the long term. But the main problem is not the coach, the main problem is the whole club. It should be restructured. Ambitions and reality have diverged too far for many years.
2104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: October 04, 2020, 07:12:40 PM
Today's matches are very surprising but let us watch what will end the game.

-snip-

Watching the match live. Unbelievable how many mistakes Liverpool makes today. I can't remember how many years ago it was that Liverpool were 4-1 down at halftime and that even against a second-class opponent. Fortunately the odds for a Liverpool win were so low that I did not bet. I'm currently thinking about betting at least three goals in the second half for Liverpool as a live bet, but after the first half I'm skeptical about it.

This is the first time that I have encountered this platform. As I go along with the content posted by the OP, I wondered if this could be trusted. And I am glad that someone vouched for the eligibility of the platform. I’ll be looking forward in trying out this one soon.

Yes, it is absolutely legit. Obyte is ahead of many platform regarding oracles integration which let import external data into smart contracts. There are several PoC apps for Obyte, for example one where you can book a flight and if the flight is cancelled or delayed you automatically get your money back.

I know it is off-topic, but if you want to earn Obyte for free (and then test the betting smart contract as described above) I suggest to voluntarily participate on research projects and get Obytes for free daily (runs since more than a year now). More information here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3710733.0
Thank you for sharing this information. I really appreciate your gesture.

Furthermore, regarding your question if the platform can be trusted, German car parts supplier (worldwide market leader) is a Obyte Witness, what means it runs something like a master node, also because the company is using Obyte for blockchain and smart contract research. If you google you can find some information about, among other things

2106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Elon Musk fake giveaway. on: October 03, 2020, 10:14:40 AM
These scams are so obvious, I doubt if anyone even falls for them anymore.

I would say that this assumption is naive. There are always people who fall for such fakes. That is why such fakes will never disappear completely. The trick is to wait for a while after there has been a hype. After that it works again. Of course, the learning rate increases from time to time, but with the little effort of such a fake, it is still profitable if only one or two people fall for it.
2107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: October 03, 2020, 10:00:26 AM
Today in the Premier League we have three games which we can all agree that the strong teams like Chelsea,Everton and Manchester City will win their games.I hope this happens but it has been a long time I have seen a Premier League match day without surprises.

Would agree with you regarding Chelsea and ManCity although the odds are not pretty good and the profit-risk-ratio is not that good too. Everton had a great league start but Brighton played well even they have less points. So I would rather go for a double chance Brigton @ 3.32.
2108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Collection Thread] Series and films in which Bitcoin (or Altcoins) appear on: October 02, 2020, 12:39:24 PM
What about mentions of Bitcoin in the 2019-2020 year? Did anyone notice anything?

Billions season 5, almost every episode.

Thanks, this is one of the next series which is on my to-watch-list. I have heard that Bitcoin plays a bigger role in the series. I will add it when I am watching it, so I can accurately document the episodes and the passages in the particular sequence where Bitcoin is mentioned.
2109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Collection Thread] Series and films in which Bitcoin (or Altcoins) appear on: September 30, 2020, 05:18:10 PM
Thanks for reporting! I am going to add it to the list Smiley Do you know the season and episode of this snippet or is it a movie?

Cool! That's a TV series, 1st season is actually pretty good. The episode that mentions bitcoin is the 1st of the 1st season (S01E01).

Thanks for the information. I added it to the list Smiley

Curious! just last night doing zaping I just stopped to watch a channel just when it read "coinout" and the individual on screen said "the money in physical is going to disappear" to which Mark Cuban replied "not even the most staunch followers of bitcoin believe that..."

Now surfing the forum I get this post, I really could have written down the episode and the season, but I let it go, although if I can tell you that the program is Shark Tank.

        :
Shark Tank. Season:? episode:?. Mark Cuban. Channel SONY.

I know Shark Tank. But without more information about the episode and season I could not add it.

Netflix, Queen of the South. Season 3 Ep1 she uses it for money transfers (Drug Money) but gets into trouble with guy running the operation in Malta. Technically a bit iffy but shows the strengths of instant trusted money transfers.

Can you provide a Youtube snippet or so?

What about mentions of Bitcoin in the 2019-2020 year? Did anyone notice anything?

I've noticed that too. The peak of mentions of Bitcoin in series seems to have been 2017 and 2018. Since then there are only a few series or movies.
2110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 30, 2020, 05:11:39 PM
Dortmund is playing poorly and will face the indestructible Bayern which is a little bit exhausted and lost badly their last game with Hoffenheim. To resume, my comment is RIP Dortmund 09 Roll Eyes

I actually wanted to bet on the Supercup final, but I am not really certain about how the match will end like you. It's exciting to see how both teams will perform after each of them had unexpected defeats in the league last weekend. Dortmund may well have a good chance of winning because they had a break after the last season, which Bayern did not have with all the CL and European Supercup matches. Therefore, the heavy defeat of Bayern against Hoffenheim could only be the start of a weak phase, which Dortmund can take advantage of today and we could well see a surprising result. Just saying Smiley
2111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is UniSwap the most powerful in the Defi market? on: September 29, 2020, 04:53:43 PM
the launch of this uni token was really a good move, a genius and in my opinion this will make uniswap remain at the top of the charts of defi / exchange sites for some time, at least a year I would say...

Uniswap is the best decentralized Ethereum-based exchange in my opinion. However, the dependence on Ethereum is a problem. Swap fees can be extremely high, depending on how busy the Ethereum network is. That is why I believe that Uniswap can only remain competitive in the long term if Ethereum also develops positively. I hope that Uniswap 3.0 will eventually support more platforms and crypto ecosystems. Then Uniswap could become the decentralized Binance.
2112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 29, 2020, 04:22:13 PM
So I think most people here agree that Bayern will win the Bundesliga. I really don't know of any team that can consistently perform well over the next 32 matchdays and has a large squad.
Anyone of a different opinion? Hoffenheim? Leipzig? Dortmund?

I would give Dortmund a real good chance to compete with Bayern if they would have a different coach Cheesy Favre is not the coach that could bring the best of these young talented players to the surface. Jürgen Klopp for example would really light up Bayern with this Dortmund team. Apart from that I am of your opinion that I don't see any team that can compete with them this season. I also believe that the enormous loss of income of the clubs due to Corona will make Bayern even more dominant in the next years.

2115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: September 28, 2020, 01:09:22 PM
Profitable weekend you say!🤔 Except to the bet platforms though👍
The results across leagues wasn't friendly to big teams at all.
Imagine Manchester City loosing 2-5 goals at home against Leicester city. Not to talk of Bayern Munich in bundlesliga having the same score line 1-4 against Hoffenham. 3 goals down both cases.
Tottenham and Chelsea being tied to a draw! It's being an awful weekend for bettors.

Read my post and the post I quoted properly and you will understand that "profitable weekend" is not (only) related to bookmarkers  Wink
And by the way, bookmakers always make a profit regardless of whether the favorite or outsider team wins. The odds adapt themselves so that the bookmarker always comes out with a profit.
2116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Twitter Mentions Dropped To 2 Year Low on: September 28, 2020, 12:43:41 PM
A simple explanation or one of the reasons can be- back in the day a lot of ICO projects or airdrop used to use #BTC and/or #Bitcoin in their post to get more reach out which now has been decreased as people don't give a shit to such spammy post.

This is an explanation that applies. Another is also (my observation) that there are much less Bitcoin and crypto related tweets shared/retweeted, also because there are only a few Twitter bounty campaigns as there used to be. These alone have artificially inflated the number of mentions at the peak of ICO hype.

But this doesn't have to be a bad sign overall, which also shows the stability of the Bitcoin price. Bitcoin is bought today by professional investors much more than two or three years ago. And these do not talk about such investments and certainly not at a medium like Twitter.
2117  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Uniswap / Erfahrungen / Scam on: September 28, 2020, 12:34:50 PM

2118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: September 28, 2020, 12:19:12 PM
Since I didn't have time to bet for the cup matches during the week, I'm looking forward to the third matchday in the Premier League.

Brighton vs Manchester United # win of ManU @ 1.72

WestBrom vs Chelsea # win of Chelsea @ 1.45

ManCity vs Leichester # double Chance Leichester @ 3.53
Usually I would go for a win of ManCity. But ManCity announced today that Jesus is injured and now the team does not have a real good striker for the upcoming match. Therefore I give Leichester a chance to achieve at least a draw. The odds are good as well.

A profitable weekend again  Cool

Although only two out of three bets were correct, I still more than doubled my stake. Funnily enough, the bet I was most confident of (win of Chelsea against WestBrom) was lost. ManU won as expected, even with a lot of luck. I was best with my guess that Leichester could achieve a draw or win against ManCity. I did not expect them to win 2:5 in the end. This confirms my impression that I wrote here a few weeks ago that I don't think ManCity will win the championship this year. The team is worse than last year and Pep can't give the team much more. He will definitely leave ManCity at the end of the season.
2119  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hacker blackmailing me and ask for money. Did you also get this email? on: September 27, 2020, 11:15:50 AM
DO NOT PAY!
I receive such emails regularly. They are mass spam mails that aim to make a few people fall for it and pay. I have recently posted several such emails I received in the German forum and I have also looked at the Bitcoin address where a few transactions have been made. Meanwhile it seems to be a profitable business with minimal effort.
The reason for this is that you probably entered your email address in bounty or airdrop campaigns at some point and they were then sold. There are plenty of such offers of contact details of cryto users in relevant forums.
2120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Yearly Lows on: September 27, 2020, 11:10:04 AM
Even year 2020 still not yet over, do you think we will still experience a new yearly low? Lower than $3,850 which we experienced that around March 2020.
Which yearly lows you already experienced? Mine was 2017 - 2018.

No, definitely not.
Although I have been rather pessimistic about the long-term price development of Bitcoin in recent years, I believe that we will never fall below $4000 again. The economic and social consequences of the Corona pandemic will ensure that more and more money will be printed in the next few years, which will result that the lower limit of Bitcoin price is increasing steadily.
