3181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next stop $85K for Bitcoin on: September 18, 2021, 09:46:22 PM
Market price speculators are out again to great Fud as they are used to. It seems as the $100k that was initially speculated didn't come to fulfilment and there is no hope of it coming pass the only option is now to reduce it to a current $85k. If you are new in the system here please not the market analysis here you can take to the bank.

I don't think this is FUD, they are basing their prediction or at least Glassnode on the data they gathered and plot a pattern. A FUD is like predicting the market to go down, not to up to $85k from the current base price. $100k is the initial prediction because that's what other data has pointed out early, but since we are about to end the year, there has been a lot of changes, that haven't been taken into account, like the fall from $64k to $29k. So prediction changes as this is not exact.
3182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 18, 2021, 11:23:15 AM
Nets should just pull the trigger to end this quickly if they really want him out but it sounds stupid to let Irving go at this point when the league is about to start. They should know by now the importance of a deep roster since they were eliminated last season because of injuries.

And team chemistry as well. If they kept him on their roster, there could be some friction in the locker room or if Irving keeps going into the public with his issues with the management, maybe sooner or later someone will step up and tell Irving that he might take it negatively. So it's better for them to start the season not just healthy but have a positive attitude towards winning a champion because that is their main goal. No need for some distractions and drama around.
True. That is why going public with the trade plan now is plain stupid to me if they are only fishing for potential teams that will be interested. They should have done it earlier if he was really a problem to the management or just waited for the next transfer window.

I'm imagining what it could have been if they pushed for an Irving - CP3 trade before he signed a new deal.

That's the reason why they cannot get the perfect blend they want since they choose to trade their solid rooster while the fact is they didn't tested well last season, if they choose to retain Irving and try to run again with their current line up with Harden and Durant then most provably they will get a better chance since they already know how to run with this guys around. But of they choose to drop irving in exchange with other player then they are back at rebuilding stage even if they still have two stars left.

It could be, but if Irving is going to be trade, for sure they will get a superstar that is willing to adjust or have the experience already. So there's no rebuilding stage, just some adjustments and they are good to go the finals and then hopefully the finals next season. So let's see what is the management decision, or maybe we will see a different version of Irving because he doesn't want to lose or be drop by a team that gives him a good multi million dollar salary and to work with two of the best offensive players we have right now.
3183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos - October 5 on: September 18, 2021, 10:49:21 AM
I check one sports bookies and this is what I got for the odds:

ML: Lopez @1.08, Kambosos @6.60

What a disparity of the odds, I thought that it will be very close, but then again, this bookies are looking for the record and specially if you are a undefeated and the champion then you will see such a huge odds.

In any case, those saying that Kambosos might pull an upset then this is the time to bet on him because of the good and very attractive odds.

The odds can't be close because Kambosos I just a mandatory challenger while Teofimo Lopez is the unified champion. But being a huge underdog, i'm still rooting for Kambosos in this fight as I thought that Lopez's win against Loma is a fluke and if you look at the fight record of Lopez, we could say that still, he is not so experienced.

Yeah and besides that, George Kambosos doesn't have that name in this division yet. I'm just quite surprise though how bookies give him an overwhelming odds @6.60 at the start. And as I emphasize, for those who loves a good underdog, Kambosos is good to put some bet on him this early.

I'm going to wait for Kambosos via decision odds, I think that would be attracted than the ML.

I reckon it could be close? I'm not expecting Kambosos to have an attractive odd of 10.00 or something via a decision odds, but I might be wrong here.
3184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Underage gambling is an epidemic on: September 18, 2021, 09:30:29 AM
At 14 years old, I don't understand why it's easy for you to test gambling. Most people at that age even that are even exposed to gambling are not interested since there are lots of things they can do like video games, computer games, mobile games.

At that age, they won't bother registering on the site and deposit a money. How can they deposit money on crypto in the first place? The exchange needs KYC before you can make a deposit with your fiat. And even before that, where are you getting your money?

I guess it's one of the negative aspect of online, you can just play anytime even at a young age of 14 years old. He may have started with the CSGO Skins gambling with become a phenomena, you can read another story here, 16 years old turn into a compulsive gambler:

https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/18510975/how-counter-strike-turned-teenager-compulsive-gambler

So it's a billion dollar industry, and every young kids are hook into it.
3185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: September 17, 2021, 11:45:16 PM
Boxing would be boring if there's no trash talk, it's not in line with real competition like the Olympics where a fighter represents his country. In professional boxing, it's entertainment, and for people to be entertained, their attention should be called that's why Casimero's style is very effective because the world already notices him and knows him now.
Yes, it's all about entertainment and as well as the glory of the boxer and whoever is going to be a winner. The style that Casimero showed was truly effective for him.
When this match is done on December, maybe he'll do the same again with another boxer and closely it's going to be with Donaire.

Exactly, but Casimero does trash talk in his other fight, but this one is very different, against Inoue and Donaire, other might say he goes out of the line, but it is what we call entertainment and for sure everyone is entertain with the antics of Casimero.

Yeah, waiting for the final announcement this December, hopefully the fight will push through so that before the end of the year we are going to see which boxer can back up this talk.
3186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 17, 2021, 11:24:10 PM
So next to Ben Simmons drama, now we have the Kryrie saga as well.
These two have different situations, Kyrie was disliked because of his attitude, but the way he played, he is really good. On the other hand, we have Simmons who is disliked by the management because he choked in the playoffs, Irving does not choke, Harden and Lebron even choke better.  Smiley
Even irvings play has changed during this period, not that he became a bad player but he is not as good as he used to be and that plays into this situation as well. If this was the Irving from 5-10 years ago, during 2012 or so or 2013 to 2016-17 dude was a beast but nowadays I do not think that he is THAT good anymore. Don't get me wrong, his stats looks amazing when you check it on paper, but he doesn't play the team ball required to play with other 2 stars, like Durant learned that while he was playing at Warriors and now happy to share the ball if he has to, and happy to shoot whenever he needs to, and Harden has been one of the best passers in the league for a while and still score a lot.

Kyrie is not like that, not only he shoots more than he should in many occasions that he shouldn't, but also he changes the game style whenever he wants to and putting his teammates in a tough spot, his defense is getting worse as well.

When he move to the Celtics, he became the alpha of the team and take many shots and he thought that he can carry the team with the young Jason Tatum back them. But he got injured and then it was a different Irving, just playing iso one on one and try to score, and then there are times that he will take the play during crucial seconds and try to win the game for the team. So no team ball for him in the last 2 years and maybe that what frustrates him is that he can't score the way he wanted to.
3187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are 51% attacks legal? on: September 17, 2021, 05:58:24 PM
It's obviously frown upon by every crypto enthusiast. You are attacking the network per se for you own good and getting incentives as result. So this alone makes it very illegal as you have said. There is no written rule because we are in a decentralise finance, no central authority. But it doesn't mean it is legal  to do this kind of attacks, in my opinion.
3188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jamel Herring vs Shakur Stevenson on: September 17, 2021, 05:08:32 PM
Just wanted to share how sicked and wicked Shakur's body shot though,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSNoYNRDbNM

Look at how he time the body shot that took out Felx Caraballo soul in his last fight here. It was perfect that Felix can't get up and was counted out by the referee. Imagine Herring, who is very tall and Stevenson punishing him with the same perfect timing shot like that. So Herring be ready for that kind of attack coming from Shakur because definitely it will hurt.
3189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin = 100k by December on: September 17, 2021, 11:53:34 AM
looking at the current movement of bitcoin which tends to be slower it seems difficult to reach the price of $100k by the end of the year. even breaking through $50k bitcoin is very difficult. looks like we will see a lower price at the end of the year, maybe bitcoin only reaches a price of $75-80k only.
Every trader is expecting high price of bitcoin but its speed is slow the price of bitcoin is declining and rising again it is difficult to hit $ 100k by december the market will take time to correct even though many people make a profit by making short term investments, it is difficult to get the right profit. Doesn't seem like $ 75-80k the maximum can go up to $ 55k.

We can't say that we will not hit $100k, same as the price might go to $28k or lower.

Meaning the price movement is really unpredictable, just like the recent flash crash wherein it goes down in just matter of hours from $52k-$43k. So for now, let's be optimistic that 6 figure might be achievable as there can be a lot of things that can happen in the next 3 months that might 'force' the price to hit that $100k numbers that we wanted to see.
3190  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa’s crypto market has grown by more than 1,200% since 2020: Chainalysis on: September 16, 2021, 10:57:36 PM
It's good that there are p2p exchanges, but this is for trading or for selling Bitcoin for fiat in order to actually use it. How common is direct usage of cryptos in countries like Nigeria? Can people pay for goods and services with it, or is Bitcoin merely a way to make profit there?
Also, 4 countries out of the whole continent that has 54 countries is impressive, but I guess not enough to talk generally about how cryptos are very popular in Africa. What about the majority of countries there? I think it's wrong to overgeneralize a big and diverse place, based on limited data from 16% of the countries out there.
This is exactly what i was thinking about right after reading the full report from Chainanalysis. The report was made based only on the number of transactions via P2P platforms [localbitcoins,Paxful] and focus on the example of few countries where users moved from Binance to P2P platforms to avoid sanctions from central banks, which causes a significant growth in P2P adoption. However, this is far to give an accurate result. The number of people using binance in other African countries is much more bigger than those 4 countries having the highest rate according to the report. And as we can't determine how many people are using cryptocurrencies apart those using centralised/P2P exchanges, almost all statistics can't reveal the real mass of adoption, all arround the world and not just for Africa .

And it also shows that the data might not reflect the whole status in Africa. Definitely, Nigeria is leading all bitcoin activity and maybe majority of the data come from them. So I wouldn't put 100% faith in that news. Definitely welcoming, but there could be some gap as well.

So let's look at it in a positive way, maybe when the government in Africa builds infrastructure to support the growth of crypto, then we might see Africa leading the adoption because that is a huge market to explore, just ask Jack Dorsey about it.

3192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 16, 2021, 05:11:59 PM
Fun fact which I don't think anybody shared yet:
This year women's final had higher number of views then men's final. This really surprised me since it is usually the other way around and not even close. I guess people wanted to see new faces battling it on girls side and/or maybe we can attribute this to viewers in UK. I believe tennis is very big there and having their girl in the final must have been magnet for many to tune in.

Yes, it's really surprising, maybe the ladies side, specially two teenagers attract more tennis fans to see instead of the Djokovic vs Medvedev, which they thought could all the way be Djokovic. And maybe fans wanted new faces in the ladies and what better to watch upcoming players Fernandez and Raducanu. So this is rejuvenate the womens side because for sure everyone are going to follow this two to whatever tournaments they enter and this could be a rivalry in the making.

3194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Germany have too many Bitcoin Nodes. on: September 16, 2021, 12:11:33 PM
Perhaps Germany is really very active in bitcoin, whether trading, investing, there's a lot of store accepting bitcoin as well since 2018 if I"m not mistaken.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/1224741/firms-with-crypto-payment-solution-germany-city/

So they are very active and that's why many chooses to run a bitcoin node inside Germany. Maybe merchant themselves, or just ordinary bitcoin enthusiast.

3195  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price Prediction: $350k before the end of 2022 on: September 15, 2021, 12:41:54 PM
This is a really insane prediction in my opinion. Bitcoin price is even struggling to climb to the $100k level now. If we don't see $100k in the first months of 2022 in the worst case, then I think that there is no way that the price will be able to reach a huge level like $350k before the end of 2022. People just like to make really interesting predictions and analyses.  Grin

What do you mean struggling? we haven't reach his price yet so obviously it will be a struggle for us. But if you look at the current price or at least the last all time high, are are almost there.

As for the insane prediction, this is just another of those predictions that maybe it will be achieved or not. So not hoping to get into this price but I wouldn't be surprised if we get closer to $100k at the end of the year. And we reach that, then we will see what could be the next high or maybe we are going to be on the bearish market then.
3196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey running his own Bitcoin node on: September 15, 2021, 11:03:34 AM
Jack Dorsey is now officially running his own Bitcoin node on the blockchain network as tweeted by him.

I could almost guarantee that Jack Dorsey—being quite a technologically gifted person(understatement), has been running his own full node for a while now. This Tweet is most likely just an endorsement of running your own node, not necessarily that he just set up his own node for the first time.

I agree, everyone can run a full node if you are capable, so I think Jack being in the bitcoin market for many years now could have been running it for years already. Maybe this tweet is to show his full fledge support on BTC and maybe others would run their own node too. Just a little technical know how and you are good to go. And then of course, he wanted to be that influential (in a good way).

Do you guys think he can manage that amount?

Huge possiblity that LeBron can break that record If he continues to play till his 40 or even 39. He only needs to average 10+ ppg.
LeBron can still score 20+ ppg, but with the current Lakers roster, he might not be able to score that much as most of the Laker acquisition this year is an offensive threat.
However, LeBron can do more triple doubles with a team who has a higher consistency scoring rate and he needs to be active on grabbing the rebounds as well.
I hope so. Maybe it's time for some change in the rankings and I will be glad it happened in my era. Though I am not one of his big fans, I think he deserve to be on the top. Punctuality, taking care of your body, hard work and so much more, he did it all and showcased it in the basketball floor to entertain and achieve his goals.
He may really break the record  as @rhomelmabini said. 1k+ points per season will be enough for 3 more years and he is just 39 after that. He could play another year if he feels like he can still do it, just to give the next player a difficult time to break the new record.  Grin

Yeah, the discipline that Lebron has throughout the years and consistency. And it might have to do something with his genetics, he is a gifted one that's why he was able to stay in the game for many years and still have some in the tank for the next 2 years to break the all time record.

So it's achievable, we thought that Big O's is untouchable, but we witnessed Westbrook broke and surpassed it. So this is the next big record (besides Wilt's record), that can be broken by Lebron.
3198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: September 15, 2021, 08:23:11 AM
This is going to be a tough call for most bettors. I'll have to wait and watch clips of their training and interviews before putting my money. I'm also favoring Crawford to win as of now but if the odds remain as is, I'll probably take a shot on the huge underdog or some handicaps/specials.

Although the stats are close, Crawford is a fighter that has clear advantages on records and fighters he fought, I don't belittle Porter, he is a tough fighter who deserves a title, people love to see him fight because his style is what people want to see loves to engage aggressively, I like him when he fought Spence he box likes it's his last fight, the fight could go either way but Crawford has an advantage here.

I beg to disagree on the boxers they fought, Porter seems to have the better resume fighting Spence Jr, Thurman which he lost. He then have a win against Ugas, Danny Garcia. Who on Crawford resume could even match Ugas or Danny Garcia?

But I believed that Crawford will be the favoured boxer as far as betting. But he will be facing a real welterweight with good power, and also a pressure fighter. Probably Crawford by decision 7-5 or or even 8-4 rounds advantage.
3199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 15, 2021, 07:36:08 AM
There are still 2 ATP masters 1000 tournaments that give quite a lot of points if Medvedev wins it, actually his win at the US Open will not necessarily make him able to win the remaining ATP 1000, only if that happens the point difference with Djokovic will be smaller and his chances of replacing Djokovic are very likely, however Djokovic's record as the most weeks in first position will still difficult to surpass other players maybe even this will last a long time.

I don't think he's likely to overtake Djokovic in ranking points. If we look at the race points, he's still 2k behind. We have to remember that Medvedev has 1,500 points from last year's ATP finals to defend.
But a lot will depend on Djokovic's motivation. I can't see that he has anything left to achieve outside the slams. How does he maintain his motivation in lesser tournaments?

It might take the whole tennis tournament for Medvedev to overtake Djokovic in the number 1.

First, if Djokovic doesn't play or only play less tournaments next year and didn't won.

Second, Medvedev winning all the tournaments he entered net year.

So most likely it will also be hard to overcome the lead of Djokovic for now. This elite players is also motivated, specially after you lost a big grand slam this year. So for sure Djokovic wanted to comeback again and won tournaments as many as he can.
3200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: September 13, 2021, 02:20:21 AM
I don't know, but for me, Caleb's chances might be 10% or less. Yes, Canelo is so much in focus of this fight and most probably grinding hard because it is for the record after all. Undisputed champion, and beat the hell out of everyone in this division, and the think it, many said that Billy Joe Saunders will have a good chance, but look at what he did, he totally destroyed Billy Joe and sent him to the hospital. So the chance of Canelo being upset here is near zero.
I tend to agree because Billy Joe was a good boxer but he still lose against Alvarez, so I feel it will be going a same result with this fight too. Both of boxer are training hard to win, Plant's need do more hard work twice or triple times than Alvarez if he want to win. As been said this is will be the biggest fight so far, I hope they're have fun on the ring.

Canela has been destroying anyone that comes in his ways. The perfect example of this is his fight against Billy. People thought that that might be an even soft fight and look what he has done to Billy. Caleb is clearly the underdog here and upsetting Canela right now is tougher than ever. Maybe 10 to 15% chance but no more than that.

For me the biggest test is GGG, it might be controversial on how both fight ends, but Canelo taking GGG's best shot and didn't even flitch, it's a sign that Canelo could destroy anyone in the 160-168 lbs. And he did, BJS is another classic example. The Brit is a natural super MW but Canelo beat him badly. So it's hard to think that Caleb Plant has a chance, highly unlikely that he can beat Canelo at his best weight class and this record of form and style of Alvarez.
