2241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Potential to Drop in the $32k Area on: May 05, 2022, 08:05:59 PM
Today, I don't know what is the reason the bitcoin price is experiencing such a rapid correction where in just the last 5 hours the bitcoin price has lost more than $3K. Granted this isn't the first time bitcoin has had a major correction, but it has happened several times in the last 7 days since May. In my opinion, if corrections like this happen often enough throughout May then it's not impossible that the bitcoin price will fall even deeper which could break $30K below. I didn't expect that, but we know it's always possible.

Hopefully, the bitcoin price doesn't drop to $32k this time but instead can stay at the current price level and reverse towards a higher price.
It really depends on the trader and investor. If they want to keep the price above $35K then panic selling will not happen again and they will start doing something by increasing demand again.

Yeah, I was surprised as well, but this is bitcoin movement, hard to predict, when we thought that we are not going to this price area of $32k, the price goes down again without any reason.

We even celebrate halfway to the bitcoin halving with record numbers as far as hash rate goes, but it is not enough to push the price today, on the contrary it's a -10% for us.
2242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 05, 2022, 07:17:39 PM
Heat won once again in the absence of Embiid for 76ers. They already have a decent advantage like 2-0. But when Embiid comes back, next games might not be comfortable for Heat at all. The Embiid - Harden duo have been amazing so far and I expect to see more in this series. And in my opinion, this series might end by seven games. But it is still difficult to predict the winner. I'm favouring 76ers in the series.

The Heat though is still the favorite in game 3 even if the game is going to he held in Philadelphia. So it means that maybe Joel Embiid is not going to be available again in next game.

So it's hard to favor the 76ers is one of their star players, which give the 30 ppg can't play. Harden alone can't do it, he needs someone to step up but so far in this series, we haven't seen anyone.
2243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Momentum in Crypto World on: May 05, 2022, 06:46:07 PM
Cryptocurrency is gathering momentum every now and then. Organisations and institutions are seeing the need to start accepting the new way to easy life. Now that Bentley University has accepted cryptocurrencies for tuition payment, as one of the first universities in the US to do so, what can we expect?

I do not know much about the new way to easy life that you are talking about but yes, I am assuming that the big organizations, institutions and some major personalities are already eyeing bitcoin or this entire industry as a whole. This is because more people are jumping into this industry hastening mass adoption and these guys are seeing this as a good opportunity to make more bucks. Not to mention the tons of solutions that this industry can offer to currently existing problems nowadays. I expect that the numbers will just increase as time goes by.

I agree that bitcoin is slowly catching up the eye of this big organizations, institutions and some major personalities.

But if we wanted to see if fully adopted, it should be retail investors, individuals like you and me that will push bitcoin to its global adoption.

Yeah, maybe educational institutions could also another industry but as someone posted, this is going on for many years now, but we really don't have the numbers if parents of the students are paying with bitcoin or the old and traditional fiat system.
2244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Warriors vs Grizzlies 2nd round discussion on: May 05, 2022, 12:28:13 PM
Memphis underdogs by 6.5.  Lol. That's crazy.  I don't get how so many people are not giving them the cred they deserve.  They were down 10 points multiple time in the last series in the 4th quarter alone and came back.  This one they were down late and came back.  They don't crumble under the lights.  This team is more than just ja.  Go check out when ja was hurt what Memphis did to teams.  They are deep, young and good.  Taking that 6.5 points all day.

That's normal, Warriors are the favorite in the series and they are extremely good at home, at least their average. Personally, though Warriors are heavy favorite in game 3, I would still take the spread and just hope they'll win and cover that, that's how I trust them.

Why not? it will be in their homecourt and Warriors usually perform at high level at Chase center. But Payton can't play as he is one of their best defender to guard Ja Morant. And this is one reason why Ja went on beast mode in game 2 because no one can stop him. They have to find a way to slow him down and then Curry and Thompson should produce good games in order for the Warriors to get the edge in this game.
2245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA _ Phoenix Suns vs Dallas Mavericks - 2nd round on: May 05, 2022, 11:27:58 AM
-6 was not only good, but it was an easy money.

It's opposite compared to game 1 but the same result.
In game 1, Suns started strong but melted in the 4th, while in game 2, at the start the game was close but Suns dominated the Mavericks in the 4th.
Suns covered both spread in game 1 and 2.

I personally thought Dallas could cover the spread even If they lose and I thought this is going to be a close game. I was wrong, Booker and CP3 are just too much for the Mavs.
Doncic can't carry a team alone. They could've kept Porzingis as he is a good addition to both offensive and defensive end.

Judging on the 2 games, I personally think this series is over.

Right, it could be over in 4 or 5 games. Suns has too many offensive weapons while the Dallas just rely on Doncic.

And obviously he can't do it alone, he needs someone to step up, and so far Brunson is not doing that as he was check in this series early. Same as Dinwiddie, having a hard time to score points because of the good defense by the Suns.
2246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 05, 2022, 10:36:52 AM
^^ Unfortunately for us tennis fans, there is no match between Djokovic vs Murray as Andy withdraw before the actual game. The reason was not clear though, initial reports say it's because of food poisoning.

So now it will be Rublev vs Evans at center court. Evans leading 3-1 but Rublev is going to served.
2247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 04, 2022, 07:54:44 PM
Well I think the product of the sixers loss is mainly attributed to embid going down.  That completely changes the game both on defense and offense.  Bam doesn't completely go off if embid is in there.  And conversely embid would draw a ton of fouls against the heat.  More points and more possible bench time for some heat starters.  Regardless I agree with your assesment of Miami, they look real good as a team.

It looks like coach Spo understands the weaknesses of the 76ers, given that the Heat was able to successfully dominate the paint during the first game of the series. By the way, there is still no specific date for Embiid's return, although Doc Rivers said that Embiid is already feeling better. So I expect he might be able to play in either game 3 or 4, and he most likely will be allowed to play only in a protective mask.
There's no surprise about that because without Embiid, the Sixers will surely fall without their big man who's the alpha of their team. Who will play at the center effectively and at the same time brings a competitive offense without him.

Embiid is already ruled out for the first 2 games of the series and yes there is still no timetable for his return but the Sixers are hoping that he could play again on the game 3.

If he can comeback in game 3 and they will play at home, Sixers will have a better chance of winning that game.

Currently, the chance of beating the Heat is slim coach Spo knows that Bam will be a big difference without Embiid plus that monstrous
shooting game of Herro and the hassle from PJ Tucker. That's all counts to win a game.

Time for Doc Rivers to adjust and find his winning combination while Embiid is still out. They need to work together
to stay close to this series.

Bam really took advantage of what the Sixers gave to him, scoring points and grabbing a lot of rebounds. And it was obvious that the Sixers are going to struggle in this series although there some glimpse of the prime Harden, but it was not enough. Harris and Maxey needs to step us as well if they want to win this series. The Heat though are very much confident, they still have Duncan Robinson, another prolific scorer who hasn't had a good performance in this playoff. If by chance he exploded in the next couple of games, it might be game over for the Sixers.
2248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol - May 7 on: May 04, 2022, 07:23:31 PM
Hope the fight doesnt end like how we expect Shakur to lose because Valdez is the most experienced between them. Canelo for sure is the best we know but if turn out Bivol knocking out Canelo, were once again lose another week's pay from sig campaign lol. Had the hard time accepting the fact that Valdez lose.

Anyway, Canelo still is the most power puncher in the class. Wish us all good luck. 3 more days to go.
Lose another week's pay from signature campaign, haha you got me there! Lol.

Anyways, we already know that Canelo is not the type to be overconfident of his strengths or even underestimated his opponents. The man have his own style inside the ring before he makes his move because he surely knows that Bivol is not an easy opponent to deal with as he is the defending champion of this division while Canelo is only a guest.

Lol, don't rub it in,  Grin. I guess many of us lost some money on the Shakur vs Valdez fight.

But I do agree that Canelo didn't reached this position because he takes his opponent lightly. He knows that every boxer he fought has a chance to beat him so he trains hard and not underestimated his opponents. There is no animosity between the two in the face off though, unlike his previous fights in Plant and BJS wherein there is a lot of trash talk and we've seen Canelo break down this two boxers.
2249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin price is falling? on: May 04, 2022, 06:54:56 PM
I don't know if you're new to bitcoin but it's not the first time (and it won't be the last) that the bitcoin price drops, its a simple bear and bull market cycles and it happens all the time.

And so we are in the bear market, yes, this cycle is not very welcome but we should take advantage of it, no matter what. Crypto market is really base on news and most of the time is has this so called correlation with stock market. So if stock is doing good, then maybe we will see crypto market doing good as well and vice versa. And then we have the world news specially the war that is affecting us negatively, but the good news is that the price recovered and almost touching $40k again.
2250  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Every 4 Year on: May 02, 2022, 04:50:19 AM
If you look at the fact that the current market is fluctuating then we can compare it to the previous few years, namely when the bitcoin price reaches ATH it will drop again, and if 2022 drops then I'm sure it can be below $20k again, I hope the trend of the previous 4 years doesn't repeat itself again.

I'm not sure if it will drop below $20k though, that will be almost 80% of the last all time high and it could spell gloomy for most. But I will tend to agree that we might be in the bear market, similar to the huge downtrend in 2018 and this might be very tough for some of us who haven't seen and feel what a bearish market. Almost all of the coins, including bitcoin will go down hard. But as others have said, it's better to look at the positive side of a bear market, continue to save and accumulate bitcoin at a cheap price.
2251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 02, 2022, 04:09:10 AM

Impressive win by the Milwaukee Bucks. I'm with this team to win the series against the Boston Celtics but I thought this Game 1 will be an adjustment game playing without Khris Middleton and the Boston Celtics might take the Game 1 win then eventually Bucks will move forward for more wins.

Yes, I never thought that the Bucks will play very well on the road against the Celtics. It was indeed a impressive win, Giannis had another good game, triple double against the defense of Boston.

Another intense match is the Game 1 between Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies. Didn't able to watch the game because it was too early here but I will definitely watch the replay later of what on the world happened that the score is very close. Clearly a competitive game.

It's very competitive game, you really don't know who will win if you have watch the game. The Warriors established a good lead at the beginning of the 4th. But the Grizzlies rally back take a 2 point lead, and then Klay Thompson hitting a 3. One thing though I noticed is that the referee is indecisive, they have to go to jumpballs in the crucial minute because they don't know who the ball should belong. NBA should look into this, as this can spell disaster for either team specially how close the game was.
2252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Shakur Stevenson vs Oscar Valdez Title Unification Fight (April 30) on: May 02, 2022, 03:28:16 AM

A lot of us definitely misjudge Shakur because he is young and lack of fight experience but surprisingly he is much fast. His hands is just too quick to throw not giving Oscar  the time react and a punch lands his face all the time.  The book makers are right about their odds in this fight. Shakur is pretty much a hybrid, I think he can beat Mayweather with such agility. He made Oscar look very rookie.

I very much agree. If you trusted the sportsbooks and made a bet on Shakur Stevenson to win with a decision which had the odds of 1.51 only minutes before the fight began, it would have been an easy money hehe. This appears to be a common occurrence in many fights in the sport of boxing. This is also certainly why I always lose money hehehe. Similar to Canelo versus Bivol, my money might lose again because it will be on Bivol.

It went as low as 1.44 if I'm not mistaken, but I didn't bet on the fight because of the odds. Anyhow, yeah, if we trust those sports bookies, the problem is that we sometimes look for better odds and not just that kind of ML wherein it is not that attractive specially if you consider yourself a ordinary bettors. For whales though, that is good enough to pour thousands of dollars in order to get a decent returns.
2253  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: May 01, 2022, 08:11:04 PM
This whole idea of isolating Russia relies on the idea of comparative advantage and the modern system of trade being superior to internal economies.   Russia has such a massive land area and potential economy within just its own people its disputable they would ever feel forced to take a different direction.     Unfortunately the war is not going to be so easily stopped, its some discouragement but not enough to alter a dictatorship imo
despite of the fact there are so many sections - Ruble is strengthening and there is no affect on Russian economy. They are are one of the largest oil producing countries and world cannot cut trade from them. Sooner or later they have to go back and ask for oil. So better be safe than sorry. Support Ukraine and request Russia to have some mercy on them but the fact is that world cannot stop trade with Russia.

I'm not really sure what you mean that Rubble is strengthening, it has lost it's value, nearly half of it at the start of the war. But Russia has one aces in their sleeves and that is oil that's why Rubble has somewhat recovered.

Back to the subject though, not sure if this is going to be effect method to boycott Russian based platforms. Maybe it will have an impact, but I don't see it long lasting as gamblers will still prefer to play regardless of the platform that they are going to used.
2254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ever heard of this "buy at dip and be rich in the future" on: May 01, 2022, 07:33:56 PM
It's because that's how we are programmed to do, "buy low sell high".
And I would say it is very effective method or strategy, and definitely the simplest and yet effective method in investing. But then again, there is a caveat, it's not that easy and it will take you years to be rich. No one will make huge profit in just a year by investing in crypto. Unless you got lucky and you have a lot of money in the first place, AKA whales that can manipulate the price in your favor.
2255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 01, 2022, 06:48:19 PM
Superb performance from Raducanu today, again I watched the whole match and she was playing at the same level she was when she won the US Open last summer. She was dominant from start to finish, playing almost flawless tennis at times, and drawing mistakes from her opponent. This is certainly the best she has played this year... and the draw has really opened up on her side now, it's a great opportunity for her to go deep into the tournament, if it goes according to seeding, she should reach the semis with a match up against Sakkari in a repeat of the US Open semi.

Good to hear that Raducanu looks sharp in his matched (although I wasn't able to see it live). Maybe changing to a new coach bring the best out of him and motivated again to duplicate his performance from last year. Based on the scores it is a complete dominant win and will go on the 3rd round. So we will see if this is not a fluke and hopefully he can bring back her career because she has a bright future.

Osaka though and Sakkari is out already.
2256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 01, 2022, 06:09:03 PM
We have all the matchups in hand right now. Heat - 76ers would be a really tough one and I think that it can end after seven games are played. And I think 76ers would win the series. Bucks are a very strong opponent for Celtics and I don't think that Celtics can get past them. This series can end by a 4-1 victory for Bucks I think. And Suns can get past Mavericks by the same result also. Grizzlies - Warriors might be a little more competitive I think and Warriors would be the winner by 4-2.

The game has started for the Celtics vs Bucks, and it's interesting that the Bucks is on the driving seat. But the Celtics is coming back strong and might tie the score at the end of the second quarter. But for sure this is going to be a very close fight. I have a bet on the Celtics, but Giannis proving himself in this game as it seems the Celtics can't fight a way to stop him and could put a triple double in this first game.
2257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers - 2nd round (Let's discuss) on: May 01, 2022, 01:10:08 PM
I will go with the Heat on this series. One question though, are the Heat healthy? I thought that Lowry is injured?

Anyhow, even if Lowry is injured or not, I will still bet on the Heat, in terms of experience, they already have it, the core of 2020 against the Lakers is still intact, plus they have a deeper bench than the Heat. As for the Sixers, they were extended by the Raptors and almost on the brink of elimination if they have lost the last game. So they are not built mentally, they have Joel Embid, but if you look at the series against the Raptors, if Joel is sitting and taking a rest, the team doesn't have a offense, and James Harden is inconsistent. As compare to the Heat wherein they have options like Bulter, Bam or even Herro and Robinson to shoot from outside.

You have a point there mate, the Heat has a deeper bench than the Sixers and the inconsistency of James Harden almost cost them the series against the Raptors, they are having a hard time producing points when Joel is on the bench, so I think the Heat have an edge on this series unless a major injury would happen to Heat stars.

Yes, maybe Harden can do his one on one, but the Heat will not allow him to just take over the game just like a prime Harden did when he was with the Rockets.

And now that Joel is sideline in this playoffs. Heat will take advantage driving and penetrating inside with no one to take care of the middle.
2258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's the year 2018 over again on: May 01, 2022, 12:10:17 PM
It seems we are already in a bear market but how far can this go? A year or two just like 2018-2019? Or this is a short term bear market? MMCrypto on youtube said that 30,000$ BTC is possible, if this do happens altcoins will bleed more than ever and this will unlock the beginning of the downfall of many altcoins.

Yes, we are indeed in a bear market. For those who experience it in 2018, really hard to swallow because all of our portfolio is going down hard and we can do anything. Expect of course to get out and sell. But as I have said,  this is a period of accumulation wherein you can take advantage because altcoins are very cheap. Buy solid projects and invest on them while the price is low and then HODL for the next bull cycle.
2259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Shakur Stevenson vs Oscar Valdez Title Unification Fight (April 30) on: May 01, 2022, 11:40:13 AM
^^ The bookies are correct, but it seems we got it wrong though as we are pre-dominantly Valdez, same as the crowd who watches the fight live.

Maybe majority of us here doesn't want to watch a defensive fight, but it's obvious that Shakur skills is superior and he has somewhat power because Valdez was hurt when he was just even grazed by Stevenson.

I would rate Stevenson among the top 5 pound for pound fighters but I find his style to be lackluster. Valdez doesn't have the best defense and can't take a punch very well. This was Stevenson's opportunity to win in spectacular fashion but he chose to go with a safety first approach. As great as Shakur is, I still think he has a long way to go before he is on the same level as Canelo, Crawford and Fury due to his unwillingness or inability to finish fighters.

That's not what we are expecting him to see, the bookies are right, they rated Valdez as a heavy dog because he wasn't as aggressive as he was in his past fights, that killer instinct was gone in this fight, probably because Shakur is faster than him and he could not catch him to hurt him. What's next for Shakur after this?

Yeah, it's sort of disappointment performance by Oscar Valdez. I guess this division might be too big for him though. I was not expecting this kind of result but I guess that's why Stevenson is really the outstanding favorite in this fight.

I guess if he wanted to clean the division, Shakur would want to fight Ogawa of Japan. But it seems he is not a very well known fighter and this will not bring money for Shakur. He can go up at 135 lbs and chases this other champion.
2260  Economy / Speculation / Re: No strength in Bitcoin in higher time frames on: April 30, 2022, 06:49:29 PM
Some time I can't stop to wonder why some forks will use Bitcoin immediate conditions to forecast the future, we have seen from past event how Bitcoin price movement have hard direct impact on the altcoin market this is so because the stock market is an inter depending chain that work together and any time there is a sharp drop in the price of a major assets is will result in drastic drop on smaller asset in the same ecosystems.

Perhaps they are forecasting for short term and obviously, maybe they are a day trading and wanted to see the price movement before making their move.

Bitcoin from history have hard a back and forth price movement and to me the present Bitcoin market conditions is not a bear market yet as the percentage loses in the price is not up to bear lose, we are in a mixture of bull and correction mode but the direction the market will take that is what will determine the condition of the market either the bear market a a full bull run.

Lol, if the price is going down from our last all time high, then we are in a bear market already. The conditions are already here, admit it or not. The current price is like 40%++ below the last all time high of $69k. So for the majority this is like the 2018 bear market, or history repeating itself, the 4 year cycle.
