I would say you would have a pretty good legal leg to stand on if they raised prices only for one particular industry.

In most countries there is a privatised energy industry -meaning it wouldn't be the governments decision to raise or lower prices.

Also - it would be easier to just ban bitcoin mining in a country, declare it illegal. This would be a better route if you wanted to stop or discourage it, as opposed to charging miners higher electricity costs.

Quote
Azure maintenance in progress, wallets will peroidically become unavailabe.
As previously announced, we are in an Azure maintenance window. Wallets will go offline for short periods (30-45min).

No issues with Monero itself.

Apologies... I assumed that Azure was a 'coin', not part of the trading platform... my bad.. thanks!

Yeah but it's been offline since yesterday.. not the 30-40 mins as with other coins (my bitcoin wallet went offline briefly too)

Anyway.. i think i'm reassured, no problem with Monero itself.. should be back online later.

Thanks Lord.. being called level headed so early on a Friday.. i'm not used to it!

Perhaps it will be a relaxed weekend.

If there is one thing that Naut has taught me - it's that patience is a virtue.

I understand things take time to develop. Things need to be properly tested - there is nothing as damaging as a half-assed release.
Imagine all the people who patiently waited for PoS get a half baked and broken product - all that patience and good-will that had been built up would give way to anger and a sudden loss of patience = DUMP

What I can't understand is people who have waited and waited losing patience and getting/selling out before PoS is released. I really don't get that.
If you are going to be patient and wait, then be patient and wait.

I keep thinking this is like someone getting an invite to a really exclusive party - where there will be a surprise guest star DJ (or band) rumoured to be playing later.
The people who turn up and say things like 'Man, i don't think they're coming - this is shit - let's leave' before they've even seen the main act because they don't believe it will happen. They're the ones getting out.

The people with enough patience to hang on and see what happens later are the ones who will benefit.

One set of people gets ripped of by their impatience. The other set end up having the party of their lives.

Or something like that. I don't understand people leaving before the party even gets started.

But your negative rating is not due to other people. Its you buddy and the voices in your head. Pick your battles, pick the channel, and stage.

Really? Me and the voices in my head assigned myself a negative trust rating? Why would I do that?

To the one guy who was more or less polite and rescinded his negative rating, you're decent, so I warn you: don't trust these Wall Street guys with your money.

That's the other reason bitcoin was necessary - to get the F away from Wall Street! Now here's Bryce Kelly bringing bitcoin Nautiluscoin / Crypto right back to the bloated, evil empire of Wall Street, rushing to deplete any utility cryptocurrency might offer the masses.

Nutildah - I say don't worry about regulation. It will fail. Once NYC introduces their regs. they will be left far far behind. Other durastrictions will step in and advertise to the smart money and the smart money will come to them. They will see what they are missing out on and they will change. End of story.
You need to stop freaking out. It will never happen. Or if it does happen it will be such a disaster for NYC that it will be scrapped pretty quickly.

Ahoy-hoy Bitcoin people. I have been lurking here for well over a year but neglected joining partly because my girlfriend induced in me a soporific, hedonistic, idleness. I spent months trying to teach her about bitcoin - I even gave her a couple back in the bubble at the end of last year - then a few weeks ago she asked me if I could trust all of my savings with "the bitcoin company"! I told her that my bitcoins are stored in my head. Her eyes glazed over, and our relationship had to end.
So, here I am. As a second best alternative to a hot Chinese girl , I suppose I may start to post musings on small percentage changes in the dollar rate of the good old bitcoin.

Ok. I've just seen this on twitter:

Bryce Weiner ‏@BryceWeiner 13m

Oh yeah... $NAUT. The multipool is almost done. That's what I've been waiting for. We're going to roll everything out all at once.

And:

Please stop whining now.

Seriously what are they thinking? Is it just incompetence or do they just dont hide from not caring about the people they govern anymore?

Their plans are going perfectly. The US, EU and Nato want a new cold war with Russia and they will probably get it at this rate. Or even a hot war. While I was on ZH I also read about the Scottish independence vote and how everyone was worried that scotland would secede. But I still can't work out exactly why anyone really cares.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-09-07/uk-full-panic-mode-rains-fire-and-brimstone-bribes-scotland-yes-independence-poll-cr

They care in the UK because they want Scotland to remain part of the union, mostly for their oil. Scotland has huge oil fields, which were opened up by BP and pipelines built to bring it ashore. The revenues went to London. If Scotland does secede, then they will be regaining control of their oil resources. That is 1 reason.
I remember hearing years ago that if Scotland were an independent country, it would be one of the richest in the world. There is another reason why they want independence.
I guess it is not important at all unless you live in England or Scotland.
If they vote for independence, then independence they shall have. It is also interesting to observe the vested interests and serious money throwing their weight behind the No campaign (no to independence).
If i was Scottish, I'd take one look at who was behind the No campaign and run to the Yes side.. but that's just me.

Happy Labor Day to those in the US,

Just wanted to check in and let you all know I am still here...hopefully this week i will get approval from my publisher to release some details on the dynamic PoS we are working on.

-BK

It pains me that you all keep buying into this charade.  No news yet again because there is nothing going on.  Fuck having the decency to inform folks that have put money into Naut about what the plans are for the future, more books need to be sold to these suckers.

Can you spell patience? if not, then this is not the place for you.
Why would anyone listen to a whinging complaining newbie??

Whinge off somewhere else.

Bullish pennant there?

(i dunno, i just thought i'd add some wall observing)
I don't see a wall

Look to your left then!

Yeah, obviously, by looking at the picture, there are no walls to be seen.

I still see a bullish pennant though..

uNAUTed $NAUT Fantasy Football League

Ok we still have 6 teams available, if you would like to join, shoot me a PM with your owner name and email.

Mostly we have been using the handle's here as owner names.

This is a standard scoring 10 team fantasy league.

We have yet to decide the dues amount but thinking between 20-50 worth of NAUT.

3rd place will get the entry fee amount back (paid in NAUT)

2nd place will get 1.5x amount of entry.

1st place will take home the rest.

How are you setting up the league? are you using the official http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ and just creating a league in there?

Hi NAUT-folks,

just wanted to check a transaction on the blockchain-explorer. Seems to be stuck at June, 6th:

http://explorer.nautiluscoin.com/chain/Nautiluscoin

Any information on that?

I don't know about that site.. but i always use this: http://nautinsight.buddylabsapps.com/

Even this one does give a stuck block, but at least it is from 6 hours ago and not almost 3 months ago!
