321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Sharkcoin surging in trade volume? on: May 27, 2015, 10:07:03 PM
My feeling is that nobody in the western community observes what the chineses do

Personally, I try to observe the whole crypto world as much as possible. I live in California(San Joaquin County), so somebody(me) does observe in the western community....lol

there is an altcoin having (or not) 3x the volume of LTC and 6 people noticing it here. lol

I just recently start mining it, until it's not profitable. If people are willing to buy it, why not cash in until it runs dry. lol

On a real note, it really doesn't have much development/tech going on and/or PR running on it. Originally it was trying to be anti-scam type of project, even though it has a 50,000 premine out of 400,000,000, IPO and a super block scam that supposedly occurred too. Just strange that it's doing that high of a volume with no public news.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SAK] SharkCoin | PoW | Coming back!!! on: May 27, 2015, 09:56:03 PM

So I visited this site and it says that the algo is Qubit.  I thought SAK was Quark algo.  Am I wrong?

Yup, it's Quark. Guess the owner of the pool didn't go over it before creating the pool.

As it stands, it takes about 10,000~ khs to mine per 1 SAK daily. So, one 280x/HD7970  or GTX 970/980 or 2x GTX 750ti will mine 1~ SAK daily. I don't really know if it's worth mining unless you control a large gpu mining farm, preferably a Nvidia one for cost efficiency of electricity. Maybe worth it if you have a farm of 100 or more gpus.

324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most undervalued coin? on: May 27, 2015, 09:46:27 PM
Some other coins I feel that are overlooked are XQN and XAI. All depending if someone helps the developer out. Some devs just have too much pride in not asking for help immediately on huge projects at times.

some dev just ask for help and others dont help.
the thing is there are too many dev trying to insert their coin in the market. that makes the market quite saturated. crypto market is becoming a flee market now

Devs are free to create coins at will, free market still, unless some established regulation(s) occur. It's really a quality/usefulness issue at the moment, certainly not a quantity issue at the moment....

My feeling it's probably because it's not BTC and that it's only one Chinese market. Until it hits an establish market, it's kind of China's personal crypto of choice to avoid regulation I gather.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin GANGSTERS poll - who willl rot in prison for scam? on: May 27, 2015, 09:09:00 PM
How about add Ryan Pumper and his pump group? Pump and dump is so dirty.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most undervalued coin? on: May 26, 2015, 08:47:33 AM
My 2 cents is Burstcoin, a NXT clone via HDD mining. It's already done a cross-chain transaction with Qora, to my knowledge, no other coins have done that yet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4vYMJwBtRGLa1hRQ0Z1ZmJ5Y1k/view?pli=1 .
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is Sharkcoin surging in trade volume? on: May 26, 2015, 08:40:22 AM
Strange that this coin doesn't really have any true value to cryptos and has a 50,000,000 premine out of 400,000,000 coins. Is this just a pump and dump coin at the moment? Why is it so hotly trade on the only one exhcange, a Chinese one only? More volume trading than LTC at the moment, am I missing something about the coin?
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NO MORE PUMP GROUP IN THIS PLACE!! on: May 26, 2015, 08:36:03 AM
Pump groups and other scammers are the scum of crypto. But sadly, you have to exist these types of people and just beware of them, since cryptos don't have any safety regulations.
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SAK] SharkCoin | PoW | Coming back!!! on: May 26, 2015, 08:08:05 AM
Why is this coin having more trade volume than LTC? Or is it just in a pump and dump phase at the moment? Why is this only trading on a Chinese exchange?

So, since the max cap is now 16.18 from the previous 618, wouldn't that require for each bunch of coins to be around 366 instead of 14,000 to hit the cap with max efficiency per stake per address?

Is there a calculator for daily coin output?

Is solo mining OK ?
I found some blocks in solo, nothing in my wallet after 10 hours ...

They might be rejected or the miner might not be submitting shares.

Also, the new miner seems to be a little unstable. The previous miner would get me a solid 144kh/s, but the new one bounces around from 129kh/s to 140kh/s on a HD7970/280x. Maybe the new kernel is having an issue.

The 'SSL Handshake Failed' error is caused by the Exchange APIs going up and down (these are linked to the market data feed), and the OpenSSL download posted earlier will not change anything concerning this particular error message. The next wallet update will resolve these pesky dialogs, so keep an eye out for an update from CedricQuotient.

Happy Staking!

It's pretty annoying. Hopefully a wallet update will make it a notification instead of a pop up.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Kryptohash | Brand new PoW algo | 320bit hash | ed25519 | PID algo for dif on: December 19, 2014, 12:49:45 PM
Here is a new 3.7.6 BETA version of cgminer-khc

https://github.com/kryptohash/cgminer-khc/releases

Changes since version 3.7.5

- Fixes for the stratum pool submitted by nonce-pool (thanks for the patch).
- Fixed the functions that calculate Diff which caused wrong diff values to be displayed and bogus found block messages.
- Fixed one of the causes of HW errors on secondary GPUs (more fixes might be needed).

Note: This version comes with an updated version of the OpenCL Kernel called kshake320-546.cl file. To avoid conflict with the old Kernel, place these new files in a brand new directory

When will the pool start using stratum? Is it possible to increase the intensity of the miner while still able to mine stable and increase hashing?
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LazyCoins- (Adding new markets - Send us your coin request) 0% Fee trading on: December 19, 2014, 12:47:44 PM
Does the cold storage of funds slow down the deposit and withdrawal transactions? How close is Lazycoins from getting out of beta?

It can slow down withdrawals because by design it isn't automated. This doesn't however, affect deposits.
As for your question regarding beta, we are taking our time to ensure everything is as perfect as it can be before we launch and we will announce this when the time is right; suffice to say we have some big plans for next year.

Thanks for answering my question. Looking forward to the final product....

Response from Bittrex:
Quote
We gauge demand based off of tweets, hash power, length of bitcointalk thread, volume on other exchanges, etc. Follow us on twitter @bittrexexchange and tweet about how much you like this coin and Bittrex. We respond to creative and insightful posts to help market your favorite coins and Bittrex. I'd also consider coming to our irc channel #bittrex on irc.freenode.net and do some guerrilla marketing. The traders there can help you gain exposure for your coin.
Wow, I got the exact same response. It's funny that we contacted them at the same time.

Better off trying to get on Poloniex, BTER and/or Cryptsy.

Anyone test the power consumption of the algo versus X11 and other algos? Just curious about the results...

What is the ratio of XAI to XQN that XQN holders are going to get after the snapshot?
