Using a virtual number is not recommended to get an activation code, because if we don't renew the subscription, the number could be transferred to someone else. Even physical SIM cards in my country are recycled. People who register a cellphone number and then the number is not used will experience theft of the connected account. I once bought a new sim card, but the number I used was already registered on Facebook and other social media. The result, that I suddenly got the Facebook login OTP code for the old person who had the account, I tried to log in and succeeded in controlling the account. LOL. Using email may be a strong reason for account and OTP security, but of course, as long as the server is not our own, the potential for other people to open the contents of the email exists.
