3241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operator of Helix Bitcoin ‘Mixer’ Pleads Guilty on: August 22, 2021, 10:36:08 AM
Let me quote the article:

Quote
Mr. Harmon admitted during the hearing Wednesday that he conspired with several Darknet marketplaces, including AlphaBay, Evolution, Cloud 9 and other platforms, to provide bitcoin money-laundering services for their customers. He also admitted to being aware that AlphaBay and Evolution offered platforms to buy illegal drugs and other illicit goods and services, like hacking and money-laundering.

I guess it's over for him, he readily admitted in court that he has done this intentionally.

Just a matter of how long he is going to jail for 20 years. I guess that's the justice that we all have been hoping for this guy. It might bring bad light for tumbling services again.
3242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 22, 2021, 09:58:14 AM
Jakob Poeltl is now the starting center, but they also added Jock Landale so we might see some switch along the season.

Patty Mills is already gone, so Murray really need to step up his game as the starting point guard now. And then they have the options of Bryn Forbes to play as back up.
Dejounte Murray. There is one time I saw him play smoking hot. I think that was his career high and it was against the Lakers.
Room for improvement is wide so I guess the Spurs management will be focusing on this young core and try to build a chemistry with them.
Pops won't have any problem about it. He built Timmy to be a great player so I guess he could also do this with them and manage to position back in the playoffs.

Celtics announce plans to retire Kevin Garnett's No. 5 jersey
Okay, that's cool. He is one of the dominant forwards of the league. Why not? T'Wolves days was his stepping stone until acquired by the Celtics in his prime.

Don't forget about the Kawhi experiment too, Pops was successful with it, until it went sour and Kawhi went to Toronto and the rest is history.

Good to hear about the Celtics retiring KG's jersey. One of the best players we have seen in this generation. Straight out of high school (same with Kobe), he was as at his prime with T'Wolves, but it was with the Celtics that he really blossom to become part of the big 3 (Paul Pierce, Ray Allen).
3243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 22, 2021, 07:42:50 AM
Great things need to end sometimes for other things will also rise after that. It was a great night and congrats to Ugas, he really beat the old man this time.

I agree,  this end the boxing chapter of Manny Pacquiao he is the only and will be the eight-division world champion almost an impossible feat, he will announce his intention to run as president and this is another chapter on Manny Pacquiao's career now as a full-time politician, I hope he will also do better and his countryman sees his potential as a great leader, we'll see if he can make it in his bid as a President.

Yes, father time has caught up with Manny Pacquiao.

I would love to see him fight again, but I'm afraid that he has lost his touch already, the timing is off, hand speed is not there anymore. It's time for him to hang up his gloves and call it quits. He can't hang up with the young generations of welterweights. Maybe if that is Spence, I think Pacquiao will be knock out cold maybe in the 10th round, just my honest opinion on him.
3244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Gamble as a newbie on: August 21, 2021, 02:02:24 PM
I am a day old in this forum and am understanding some ways in which one can get rewarded and one of such is gambling, but again, one needs to understand the risk involved.

I'm sorry but you have the wrong mindset as a newbie gambler. The only way you will be rewarded is that if you always win, but that is not the case 99% of the time.

What are your guides from your personal experience of gambling?

There is no guide because you will only need money and then gamble. But remember, the risk is very high and chances are you might get addicted to it. So you have to think hard before involving yourself in gambling.
3245  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Bullish At The Moment on: August 21, 2021, 12:30:37 PM
We have broken the $48k barrier now, so after a minor dip and on a correction, it seems the price is going up indicating that we are a in a bull run again. dropping to even $30k is not possible, as we have build a quite momentum already.

The bear price or at least the lowest low is $28k, and since we have bottom, I don't see the price going on that level again as we are on $50k target at the end of the month.
In fact, after we have broken $48k, now the price of bitcoin has come back close to $49k. some speculation that I see, when the price of bitcoin can penetrate the price of $ 49k, then the price of bitcoin will be very easy to break through the price of $ 50k and go higher. however, I think after the price correction occurred, now is the price recovery. I'm still very confident that $50k is achievable by the end of this month. This will most likely encourage the achievement of new ATH at the end of the year. let's hope the bull market comes back at the end of this year.

It could be, but I would say keep at few more days before reaching $50k. Yes we are in a bullish sentiments, however, this is not a super fast rally like last year. We will go up a bit, and then immediately followed by another correction.

I'm too confident that $50k is achievable, this month, we have a full week to accomplished that, so there is that big possibility, specially if we are going to hear some good news along the way next week. So let's wait for the following week, but let's not get too excited though.
3246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do most of you guys only care about partnerships & roadmaps? on: August 21, 2021, 11:51:25 AM
Perhaps it was the hype, when investors hearing projects about their partnership with this and that entities, that first thing that will come up to their minds is that the project might be interesting because of all this partnership, so they jump on the bandwagon.

Same with the roadmaps, investors look for the development path and what it can offer in the future. The sad thing is that most of this roadmaps are just good in paper and majority of them are not even followed by the devs themselves.

...and there we have it, just like it was ceeded the too four in the semi finals

Medvedev (1) v Rublev (4)

Zverev (3) v Tsitsipas (2)

Very interesting pairings, Rublev will give Medvedev a good run but I think
Medvedev will win, there will be serious power shots on display in this one.

Zverev v Tsitsipas is really difficult to call so I wont, Im edging towards Tsitsipas though.

For the first time in a long time we are able to see first 4 top seeds in a tournament to reach a semi final. Also we will have a russian semifinal between Medvedev and Rublev that will be really intresting. But Medvedev is currently in top form and he might win the tournament

True, so the semis is really a very interesting match.

One thing's for sure, the match will go on a 3 setter here. Not seeing anyone dominating their opponents as this is the top 4 already. So might be safe to bet on the over.

Medvedev might be in his prime form, but for sure Rublev will try to hang it out and might take a set. But in the end, I would agree that Medvedev will have the tools to win in a 3 sets against Rublev.
3248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 21, 2021, 09:57:50 AM
At least as fans, its going to be big this Christmas day, watching the games with your families and having some fun.

Even not on Christmas Day, and scheduled for other dates, Nets vs Lakers will still be big. At least they should give chance for the finalists the last Finals to play on Christmas Day as part of the recognization of their performance last season.

Phoenix and Bucks fans at least expect that they will allow it happened but it turned out not. Maybe next time if one of them will reach the Finals again although I don't see Phoenix Suns will make it for the 2nd time consecutively.

I guess it's different though, it's opening night, NBA needs viewership on the very special day, Christmas that's why they re-organised the schedule so that the two hottest team are going to face each other.

The publicity will be there, all NBA fans around the world are going to tune in and might be seeing the NBA finals for all we know. And I don't think that Phoenix or Bucks should be upset, they will still play against each other.
3249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 21, 2021, 09:34:20 AM
I totally missed the final presser hours ago, good thing it was in youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4bA2jOmLYU

Manny Pacquiao hasn't change a bit, still very respectful of his opponent, same with Ugas. Yordenis though a bit taller than Manny but i don't see any problem with that. He has face many tall opponents throughout his legendary career. In 2 days we will see the weigh-in, and it's interesting to look Manny body as it developed throughout in his 40's.

Sharing again the final weigh-in, both boxers making the weight limit of 147 lbs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fwK1nHsvbY

Do you guys think that Pacquiao has aged? it seems to me the same Pacquiao years ago, although I would say that the body is not that 'hard', but maybe of the effects of the light in the studio.
Watched it and yes, there's no hint of ageing yet. Bro, it's good to be fit. It just gave me the idea to do more exercise every day.  Grin I want to look that young even when I grow old.
Pacman is ready. His muscles are angry and even when he smiles, the muscles on his face are showing.  Grin
Kidding aside, I am glad to see Pacquiao will set foot on the ring again and who knows, this might be the last time we will see him stepping on that floor.
So, this should not be missed by every boxing fan especially Filipino supporters. Good luck to all your bets.

Yeah, blame it all on Manny's genetics, he still fit at his 40's and I remember Freddie Roach said that Manny's metabolism is really very different as it is hard for him to gain weight just to make the 147 lbs weight limit. In this fight he weigh in at 146 lbs something. So that is true, even at 42 years old his body is the same at what when he was in his 20's. For sure, this is a must for all boxing fans around the world as this might be the last fight of this legendary career.
3250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wells Fargo asks US stock exchange to launch Bitcoin fund on: August 20, 2021, 05:42:55 PM
Maybe this link could help:

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1861688/000186168821000001/xslFormDX01/primary_doc.xml

And probably this is the news that push the price above $48k now (which is a big psychological barrier).

This is not the first time though, JPMorgan Launches In-House Bitcoin Fund for Private Bank Clients.

It's pretty obvious that this big bankers are taking advantage, but who knows, it could still be a win-win situation for bitcoin market in the next couple of years.
3251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 20, 2021, 04:58:28 PM
^^ Yeah, it's time for the young guys to step up now, this is there chance, they only have Djokovic as the only one remaining in the US Open.

I'm also not confident on Tsitsipas, this is not his specially surface, so we might see some upsets along the way. The Rublev vs Paire is about to start, I might go live betting on this one, but this could be Rublev in 2 sets.
3252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: August 20, 2021, 04:31:50 PM

If they would see soo much demand with Casimero vs Inoue then he might consider on pushing it to happen but lets take this a pinch of salt because we dont know
on whats up to their minds.

Casimero is already popular, so I believe they already know that the demand for the fight is high, however, the promoter is also looking about the possibility of the outcome of the fight, if Inoue would lose in the fight, that would be the end of his future and Bob Arum would not be able to earn from his investment on Inoue.

The problem with this division is that there are no US names, maybe except Donaire who have been campaigning for many years in this division, but I do think that Inoue and Casimero is not yet a household name, they are just starting to build one in the US soil. So both of there promoters, specially Inoue, should  established their names first, create more hype so that US fans will buy their tickets and make more money for Bob, just like what he did to the career of Manny Pacquiao.
3253  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Bullish At The Moment on: August 20, 2021, 03:55:12 PM
Well, as you can see, it was pretty obvious that we are in the bullish status even at $30k still consider as bullish level. maybe we have to think it now that we are not dropping anymore below $10k as we have before. It was time to forget those prices as if the current momentum keeps ongoing, there is only a slim chance to have in the bear market again. Or, we have to consider $30k, and below is the new bear price.

3254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin surpasses gold on: August 19, 2021, 10:26:04 PM
Scott Malekner, the leading cryptocurrency market trader, believes that the price of Bitcoin "will cross the $1 million over the next 10 to 20 years" and that its market value will surpass the value of the gold market. Of course, Malekner noted that this situation is only possible if the U.S. Stock Exchange authorizes the launch of tradable funds. The move paves the way for institutions and investors to access Bitcoin, and as a result, Bitcoin can leave gold behind, he added.

You just have to look as to who is Scott Malekner and obviously, he has incentives to tell us that bitcoin price will go to $1 million, he is after all a crypto trader.

As for the comparison, we don't need that, let the bitcoin market flows into its natural course. If it became $1 million in the future so be it. But one things for sure, bitcoin has already attracted a lot of investors and it's just a matter of time before we can breach all time highs in the 6 or 7 digit levels.
3255  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin faces strong resistance to reach $50k? on: August 19, 2021, 11:39:54 AM
$50,000 is just a round number, whales at the moment don’t seem to want the price to surpass $48,000 but we are still in a bull market. Both resistances will be nuked as we pass them in 2021. Then there will be more resistance near the ath.

Yes, a round and whole numbers, but it is the biggest obstacles we have right now.

$48k will be breach soon, we have a good correction today and we are still above the average of $43k so that is a good sign. But if we go below that price then it will be a different story.

So for $50k to be reach, that $48k needs to be broken obviously, but I think we can do it this month. We have weeks to do that, lots of wiggle room for us.
3256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 19, 2021, 10:27:37 AM

Yeah, I think he is already past his prime, that injury he suffered was one of the worst.

I also have Bublik winning, unfortunately, he was defeated by Dmitrov in two sets.

I won on that match, under 22.5. I have a parlay with Tiafoe (+1.5) against Schwartzman and Tsitsipas winning. But the match between Tiafoe and Schwartman is ongoing, tied 1-1 going into the third set with both of them holding the serve.

It is unfortunate but Murray his prime is already long over (years ago). He just playes because he enjoys the game, but it will be mission impossible to win another tournament.

Tsitsipas won his match quite easily, but Tiafoe has lost the third set against Schwartzman.

It was a game between Tiafoe vs Schwartzman until Schwartzman breaks him and that's it, Tiafoe wasn't able to recover too bad.

For Murray, yes, his prime days are over, and we might say that it was a career ending injury, hip if I'm not mistaken and it took him at least 2 years to just play again. But high level? no, I doubt that he can come back from that injury and probably playing to have some fun until he goes on retirement.

Why do most of the players are happy when they signed with the New York Knicks? I just don't understand the idea behind it.
https://www.nba.com/news/kemba-walker-perfect-timing-in-moving-to-knicks
Quote
NEW YORK (AP) — The “Welcome to New York” signs decorating the outside of Madison Square Garden and hanging behind him were nice, though unnecessary.

Kemba Walker needs no introduction around here.

He’s a New York native who was already playing at Madison Square Garden in high school and made a memorable buzzer-beater during a historic Big East tournament run while playing for Connecticut.

Now he gets to see what he can do while playing there for the New York Knicks.

“It’s going to be better,” Walker said. “Ten times better.”
I knew Jordan loved playing at New York because of the crowd but never as an addition to their roster. It's the thrill of playing against them that makes him want to come back there over and over again.
Crowd clapping and cheering for you even if you are the away team as long as you amaze them with a record breaking game and something they didn't see for a long time.

I just its the thrill and atmosphere of the city itself, the Knicks, or Yankees, it's a historic team.

Lakers and Celtics are the two others cities which I know that can be name as such, the Forum, Staples center and then Boston Garden.

And with Kemba Walker, he is a native of New Yorker which makes this "welcoming" like sort of home coming for him.

Oh! Thanks for this @Kemarit.

Yeah, it wasn't a huge feat for him, he even defeated Margarito that is much taller than Ugas but it was a different era because at that time it was his prime, this time it's different. Manny was still good right here, the difference would be on the quickness as always if we are about to see Manny's fight, the only one that can match it was Marquez, just my two cents.

And thats were Manny is dangerous, when he is the smaller of the two because he can really used his speed to counter that height advantage. And since Ugas is not that fast but a big bigger, maybe we can see Manny's blistering hand speed again and cut angles and never give Ugas a fighting chance here.

I think Manny's is really built to be a 147 lbs or even 140 lbs the most, so I'm expecting it to be the same body that we have seen seeing him, hard, 6 packs, veins popping out.
3259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jamaica Adopt cryptocurrency on: August 18, 2021, 01:34:45 PM
Not sure if there is correlation to crypto though, CBCD are back by government, it's not the crypto that we all know of. You can't trade them as obviously, this will be like the local currency, but this time it's digital. So there will be no effects on the market itself.

And besides, this CBCD can be used to track you and then for tax purposes. Of course it's good that you can do transactions and be cashless society in the future. But I doubt that it will have a huge impact to crypto market.
3260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WALMART is hiring a cryptocurrency product lead ! on: August 18, 2021, 12:59:07 PM
Maybe this is just a temporary project and nothing more? Do not fantasize ahead of time.

Blockchain though is permanent, if Walmart finds it's very interesting and can help them in their daily business decisions so why note? I'm not sure why you tell people not to fantasize, I mean many companies are slowly hedging bitcoin or any crypto in their balance sheet, so that's not fantasy but reality already.

So we will have to see what Walmart's decision will be, I think they have seen what happen to Facebook supposedly Libra coin, so I doubt that they will go that way.
