341  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Campaings already cutting rates on: November 20, 2015, 10:25:56 PM
I dont have any problem with Bit-x, these people play fair.

BTC went up 30% and payment was reduced 30%. USD vise, I make exactly the same.
And when BTC drops another 30% we will not see a rise of 30%.

The unfortunate or ironic thing is that the US (since we're talking about BTC in terms of USD), when the economy improves most people get to make more money via raises and bonuses. Now that's the evil economy so many people want Bitcoin to triumph over, yet in this example when the bitcoin economy improved a class of workers got pay cuts.

It's worse than a disparity in pay! I love capitalism. I understand why they're doing this. I wish more people were upset and could take action.

Come on, stop shit-posting. Bitcoin is not this fabulous massive currency yet, face it. We do not have a world economy revolving around us. Bit-X, et cetera, have costs in US dollars. They quite often deal with US dollars. The money they pay you with is Bitcoin, but that's bought and usually budgeted in US dollars. You are getting paid the exact same, pretty much. And you're not a worker. You're getting the privilege of getting paid like someone who has an ad on their car.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT - Officially #REKT (also goes for BIP101 fraud) on: November 20, 2015, 10:21:23 PM
It means now pool can start colluding with exchanges to priorities their transactions regardless of the fees. It once again encourage centralization of pools and discourage a fee market.

Indeed. We should be disappointed with this, though I don't see how this should affect the block size debate. The issue here is the fact that we're even satisfied with a pool centralising the priority of transactions and not allowing the Bitcoin protocol and fees to dictate it.
343  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: November 20, 2015, 10:17:02 PM
I predict 2016 is the year where bitcoin finally breaks through, both in price

Perhaps, it's possible. But people predicted this for 2010. 2011. 2012. 2013 (though it was somewhat true!). 2014. And they predicted it for 2015, and it didn't come true here. It's completely random.

and in mainstream adoption.

I doubt this sincerely. If it does ever happen, I don't think it will happen so early and that the rate of adoption will accelerate so exponentially.
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin v. Bitcoin on: November 20, 2015, 10:15:24 PM
(1) value increase -- though value of bitcoins has increased so much in these days, but in comparison value of litecoins is jumping more.

Sigh. Litecoin price only increases when the Bitcoin price increases. I hardly ever think about Litecoin anymore, especially when the Bitcoin price is stable or dropping - Litecoin basically seems irrelevant whenever Bitcoin isn't in the middle of a massive bubble. It's just dead now.
345  Bitcoin / Project Development / The logistics of re-creating a Minecraft Gambling server. on: November 20, 2015, 10:00:11 PM
Like BitVegas.

This was attempted once by me and some others and failed horribly because none of us actually knew how to use Bukkit and Java effectively.

Now, I do know how to do that. But I'm a bit worried about the logistics of something like this (well, it's unlikely I'll actually attempt this, I'm more just curious), especially linking a Bitcoin client or API to Minecraft plugins. Withdrawals might even have to be manual.

I could probably code a decent amount of games, too, but that's not the goal here as I'd much prefer something more entertaining like BitVegas' VIP system. Granted I could probably build that, but...

There's the issue of laws, too, though that's something I can deal with myself.

Not everything would be custom coded, it's likely (like I mentioned earlier) that this server would have a Bukkit/Spigot backend for very light use. The majority of it would be custom-coded. Still, I have respect for how BitVegas managed this ridiculously well.

How would you approach this?
346  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: November 20, 2015, 09:06:36 PM
Sorry for the light gravedig, but I want to bring something back up.

Looks pretty cool, however I'm not confident that this will reduce the amount of scams going on. Newbies seems to trust other newbies no matter how fishy it is.

Later, I'm going to change the trust color of people with a trust score of 0 to light red. This will hopefully help.

What happened to this idea? Was this replaced by the ??? calculation where the system isn't sure, or was this just forgotten about? Or was it scrapped entirely?
347  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion regarding "newbie forumula". on: November 20, 2015, 09:03:43 PM
Actually, I don't/didn't know that.  I read technical stuff, and I'm not really interested in behind the scenes formulas of a web forum.  I don't post when I have nothing of value to say.  If that makes me a "newbie" so be it.  I value quality over quantity.

It was just intended as a suggestion, because the documentation of the formula I found seemed to equally weight time on forum and posts.  Guess not.

If you are referring to activity = min(time * 14, posts), time does not mean time. "Time" means the amount of 2-week periods in which you have posted in, and it chooses the minimum of these anyway. And that's valid. If browsing gave you activity, then great, we've just given a way for bots to easily become Legendary members. If you're suggesting something else...I'm not sure what it is.
348  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing a chatbox to BTCTalk on: November 20, 2015, 09:00:56 PM
IRC exists and a lot of good Bitcoin-related channels exist, namely #bitcoin and #bitcoin-otc on freenode. We don't need a chatbox as it will simply dissolve into a lot of shouting and arguing and turn into a trollbox while we have to recruit even more moderators to try to clean up the mess that will be left over. It just isn't compatible with a forum that is supposed to provide one of the main sources of discourse in the Bitcoin community.
349  Other / Meta / Re: Wow, you can buy positive trust for 0.0301btc on: November 20, 2015, 08:59:14 PM
PM'ed escrow.ms, I guess no one else had at this point?

Fixed, escrow.ms removed him from DT. Can we get a thread lock now its resolved?
escrow.ms tends to be very quick to remove people from his trust list once he is made aware of someone who is using their position on DT in ways that are less then savory.

Yep, I was assuming he would have already been PM'd by the OP and there just wasn't anything from his end but I guess not. If you're going to make a thread like this, PM the damn people involved guys (not just the person who trusts them but the person themselves too!).

Another day, another hilarious PM:

-snip-

I've been thinking about putting together a blog with all the weird emails and PM's I've gotten over the years.

Looks like you have been exposed by the evil mastermind Dr. Evil...

We all know that the most reliable source of evidence that you can get consists of random anonymous people on the internet. Right. Right???
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: November 20, 2015, 08:47:01 PM
All the pointers given here, please applied that in Trading world.

It's worth to risk to gamble than any gambling type out there.

I really recommend trading for those who are just doing fun in their money in playing gambling.

That's the entire point of gambling, yeah. It's supposed to be a form of entertainment - you're supposed to do it for fun, not to try to make a profit. Well - I suppose that is part of it else it'd be a useless game - but if that's the sole reason, you're doing the wrong thing with your time and money.

355  Economy / Gambling / Re: 💩 ShitDice - The WORST Bitcoin dicing site around. 💩 on: November 19, 2015, 06:22:04 PM
Shitdice must have shit faucet around 50mbtc per claim. It will be nice joke

50 mBTC per claim faucets. Ah yes, the old trick.

Because giving around $16-17 per claim to people is a "shit faucet" and clearly a "nice joke".
356  Economy / Gambling / Re: 💩 ShitDice - The WORST Bitcoin dicing site around. 💩 on: November 19, 2015, 07:05:53 AM
Of course, eventually we would get people who don't understand jokes. I guess I will have to explain this to them.

I am sorry, I was not thrilled with this game.  There is nothing to it other than the game board and a chat.  As some advertisements in there sending me somewhere else to make money off of me, do not just have nothing on the screen but the game.  I like to look around what I am playing and there is nothing here to look at.  I guess that is why this is call ShitDice...

This site is a joke. It's called ShitDice and touted as the worst dicing site around. Did you expect something?

is it actually working? was the whole plan to get players name it in such name and dont do any design? if yes i guess you won

Yes.

Ryan, can I query why in transactions such as the following:

https://blockchain.info/tx/a4dc95653034e9d003558eada4ab92a5c05ea008e3dc69ed3e2857c34b6a111c

Despite subtracting 100 bits for a transaction fee, only 34.1 bits are actually used to pay for a transaction fee? Is that an error, is there a calculation that goes on, is it a problem with inputs, or...?

We use bitcoin's dynamic fee estimation logic to decide how much transaction fees to actually use. This means it greatly varies depending on a) How many inputs it sources  and b) How much block contention there is.   I've seen it use fees from anywhere between 20 bits  and 1600 bits (when we were getting spammed with dust). To make it simple for users, I just charge a static, predictable 100 bit withdrawal fee, regardless of what the mining fees actually are.

Ahh, I see. Okay then, that sounds fair enough. Thanks for your response, I appreciate it.

Short description:

Heavily inspired by "When I'm Cloud9" and other "When I'm" videos Smiley A fun video, the main component is 30 seconds long but there's also a bit tacked on the end just for fun! This is designed to both inform you of the fact people do win a lot and the various things LuckyBit has, but also is designed to be entertaining at the same time Smiley

I also suggest watching the video in 1.5x speed the second time using the options button for a great time!
