3403  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Which programming language to choose? on: December 02, 2021, 10:04:02 AM
I would say start with C as your first language then move up to Java. This is how they learn it at every University in my country in courses that have something to do with computer science (or pure computer science). The basics they start you off with is using a Virtual Machine with Ubuntu to start off understanding the basics on a deeper level. I am currently using Oracle VM Virtualbox with an installed Ubuntu VM and basically just using the vim, debugger, compiler and makefiles.

But then again I am just telling you how they do it for first semesters at university. I am no expert. Just starting out.

You can't do anything in blockchain with Java as there are almost no libraries for it (BitcoinJ being an exception). So start with one of C++ (not C because too many libs now require C++ compilers), Python3 or Javascript/NodeJS.

Im just telling him how universities do it. First year students learn C first to understand the basics of programming (which they can later apply to almost any programming languages) and then they learn Java for basics on object-oriented programming. So that way its less about getting straight into blockchain but rather first getting into the groundwork of programming. I just think the university approach is more practical because that way, you don't stumble and crash with a long and time-consuming "learning-from-your-mistakes approach" with things you should have learned at the beginning. Its just more efficient.
3404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think 0.1BTC is enough to "make it"? on: December 02, 2021, 07:38:07 AM
Considering the supply vs global population = 0.003BTC per person to go around.

Then other factors like not all 21 million will be in circulation due to lost wallets/deceased hodlers who never informed anyone where their seed is, and also an increasing global population and future generations who all want in.

Do you think 0.1BTC will be like owning a mansion?
Mansion in my country with current price need at least 2 Bitcoin. Because in town a normal house can cost 1 coin and it is right depends on what country and location of the house. My house if price now need 0.3 BTC at current price, maybe if price can increased x2-x3 from now, people who hold 0.1 BTC can buy house in village because still cheap.

120k For an entire mansion? Which country do you come from, may I ask? I cannot imagine anyone even building a mansion for a mere 120k... Just the building expenses alone would (should) cost more than that. And then you would need to buy furniture, kitchen, and stuff... Even in the deepest part of the third world that seems too low a price to me. But perhaps you are thinking of a big house, not a mansion?
3405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is more real than money in the Bank on: December 01, 2021, 02:28:02 PM
Bitcoin is definitely the real money. Because it's real anonymity and real freedom! Banks will be a thing of the past. Now with the newest taproot update, if Bitcoin can go fully Decentralised Finance then that would be so amazing. Because that would mean that the governments lose all the control over trading and fund supervision that they currently have (over centralized exchanges, which all demand KYC). The Banks and all the governments are losing control and all the regulations they have put into place are starting to crumble. Money will finally be by the people and for the people. No more middlemen, no more corrupt regulation.
3406  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Trading have an advantage over investing?? on: December 01, 2021, 11:19:28 AM
Trading or investing ..does Trading pay more than investing

From my own personal experience throughout the years, investing long term is waaaay better than trading. I know a lot of people think of compounding percentages and technical analysis when considering trading, however they are deluding themselves. Compounding percentages go both ways, if you make a loss, it will be harder to make a profit with which you regain your loss. And technical analysis is basically bs. Nobody can see the future or what is going to happen. So trading is basically gambling with the hope that you discover a "pattern" which helps you predict something.
3407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is not a rival of Bitcoin on: December 01, 2021, 11:12:46 AM
Well, even if you were to ignore the fact that ETH is at the second highest market volume in crypto, the developers of Ethereum still have not been able to satisfy the need to lower gas fees and make Ethereum more scalable. They keep saying its being implemented slowly, but they should have been able to do something by now. The fees are outragous and this makes their blockchain completely unusable. We already have better alternatives. In my view, ETH is dying out. Undecided
3408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: December 01, 2021, 10:29:56 AM
Amazing list! It worries me that DEFI can be so easily hacked and that it happens so very very often... The thing that bothers me most is the disgusting bounty haggling from Fullcrum. They saved their 2.5 Million dollars and don't even get paid for their efforts. What kind of move is that? Fullcrum? More like Fullscum. I would keep away from doing business with them.

That being said, thanks for this list. Im sure it will be very helpful for future Defi.
3409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting BTC Tips on Webpage on: December 01, 2021, 09:39:26 AM
Why would you want to use a third party for that? I think simply showing people your BTC address is more than enough. You could also implement a QR code for a simpler way to send tips. Most websites use a simple address text at the bottom of their web page and that seems to do the trick. However, I would be careful about hackers who try to hack into your page to change the address or by ddosing your web page and luring people unto a fake clone page while your page is down.
3410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think crypto prices will collapse further tomorrow? on: November 30, 2021, 05:48:01 AM
I think you might find better answers with more technical analysis and detailed explainations if you were to post a topic like this in altcoin speculation, or better yet, Bitcoin speculation (since altcoins seem to follow the main actor, Bitcoin). That being said, I think the weekly is not looking too good. Last week ended with an overshadowing of a large red candle, which indicated to me that the dip isn't over.
3411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins with a potential like the Ethereum. on: November 30, 2021, 03:35:25 AM
The Binance Smart Chain and it's native coin, BNB, have replaced Ethereum because its very similiar except for the fact that the transaction fees are much much much lower. But that being said, BNB is not actually fully decentralised. It has 21 validators and is considered semi-decentralised. I would keep an eye on SOL, as it is growing fast with a lot of promise. ADA has been around for a while and still has not really been able to overthrow ETH as the "new ETH".

3412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Omicron token gained 900% after WHO name-new variant on: November 30, 2021, 03:29:01 AM
An obscure token Omicron made a massive gain on Monday after the World Health Organization named the new covid 19 variant, the token did a 900% gain but apart from the name being the same the cryptocurrency does not have any connection with the virus.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/obscure-omicron-token-spikes-900-after-new-variant-emerges

Obviously, It's pumped by developers and their supporters to make it appear that it's gaining support but a project which is just getting pumped because of the virus not because it's gaining support because of their platform deserves further scrutiny, this could be a high-risk investment and you invest at your own risk, do your research first or  you could lose everything supporting this kind of project, honestly, this is the first time I read about this project

Quote
The bond-based yield farming project began life in early November as a fork of the OlympusDAO DeFi protocol, but it shares no other connection to the virus aside from the name.

^THIS!

Its a pump and dump! DO NOT FALL FOR IT! Someone, perhaps the developers themselves, are trying to use the whole omicron situation for themselves to lure newbies into buying a coin which probably nobody would buy otherwise. Whenever you see a project pump like this, its almost always an artificial fake pump which will follow with a dump in the near future. People who buy into it almost always lose their money.

3414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Solana still bullish now? on: November 28, 2021, 07:40:45 PM
As far as I can tell, Solana is doing very well and may become the new Ethereum. I know that has been said before for many new projects but lets face the facts - Ethereum will either die out because it has not resolved its issues or it will eventually resolve its issues but by then, we will have better alternatives. The latest dump is an expected correction and drags down Bitcoin as well as every Altcoin with it. So you might want to wait until the dump is over until you decide to invest into something like Solana.

But is it still bullish? Oh yeah. Its ecosystem is growing steadily. Thats a good sign.
3415  Economy / Economics / Re: China cracking down innovation on: November 28, 2021, 07:26:04 PM
We have know that China has many times expressed and effectively carried out all shorts of moves against bitcoin, but recently they have made very serious moves that not only send a message for the future but also had very real implications for stock owners.

- Serious warnings to Ali Baba owner.
- A "voluntary" donation from Tencent to the "common good of Chinese people".
- A clear warning against any entrepreneur that has "too much public success".

Could this be dampening or even killing the expected growth of the Chinese economy? Are they, after all, still communist enough?

From what history tells us, you can always expect China to bluff and lie with their words and actions. In my eyes, China will spread misinformation if it serves their purpose and China will never miss an opportunity to make a profit, no matter how immoral or self destructive it may be. Communism is just a lie for the chinese ruling elite to stay at the top.  Xi Jinping accuses all of his political enemies of unproven corruption so he can stay on the top. If we let them influence us then they will treat us the same way as they do their own people. Forced organ harvesting(of innocent people who are put to death on fake charges), concentration camps and of course, they will force you to sign your business over to them. This is the price of cheap outsourced labor - Slavery.

Bitcoin is something that could save the chinese people from this because the chinese government would no longer have control over their people's wealth. I think this is one of the biggest reasons why China has created the "great firewall". They know the outside internet is a danger to their system of domination. Their government will crumble sooner or later by the hands of their own people.

China is basically a rich North Korea.
3416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Is the bubble about to burst?" on: November 28, 2021, 07:16:12 PM
"Is the bubble about to burst?" - This has been a common narrative used by crypto haters ever since Bitcoin reach its first peak and MT Gox drawdown. Unfortunately, it seems this same narrative is spreading like a disease that is trying to shake the crypto foundations by turning crypto supporters against each other.

Today, I've received the Medium Daily Digest and an article caught my attention: We’re About to Witness the Great Cryptocurrency Reset. It is a well-written article and I may say the guy makes some points over there. He starts by criticising how the original idea proposed by Satoshi has been overturned, how the crypto space is controlled by a bunch to finish off saying how bad actors are now turning it into what it was intended to fight against.

Would be great to hear some thoughts.

Ah yes. The bursting of the "bubble". You realise its just a FUD meme that has been proven wrong time and time again? Bitcoin is NOT a bubble nor will it ever be one. Yes, there will be corrections and dips and sometimes, due to compounding bad news, we might even see a downward slope which seems to last forever. But Bitcoin is a deflationary currency which will always overtake it's last ATH.

In Bitcoin we trust.
3417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best ways to invest money? on: November 28, 2021, 07:06:32 PM
I think if you're looking for tips on the best ways to invest your money then you should be expecting bias towards cryptocurrency on Bitcointalk. It's obvious that everyone here has either invested time or money into cryptocurrency with either a lot of thought or just because they may have seen a meme about Bitcoin sometime on social media. Basically Bitcointalk not the right place to talk about the diverse investment opportunities. Roll Eyes
3418  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 28, 2021, 12:05:23 AM
Most important about mindrust =.......

He had invested X amount of FIAT and proudly announcement he had a positive exact amount of FIAT out of it.

Each person got his own goals, he achieved the goals he was chasing at.

3419  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 27, 2021, 09:22:13 PM
I I’m correct he had 5 max 7 BTC’s

I thought he had 10 BTC, but you're probably right. I never really looked into the details.

I seem to recall 10BTC.

He had 10 & he dumped them all at approx $4,000. I know this because I was buying at pretty much the same time he posted that he’d capitulated.

I remember my "gambling" stash getting liquidated during the same time as mindrust losing his corn. But 10 BTC? Thats gotta hurt. Especially now.
3420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized wallet on: November 27, 2021, 03:37:44 PM
I prefer Trust Wallet for Binance Smart Chain because it's low fee, has an integrated swap and dex. I prefer using the swap because it's cheaper due to the fact that it has the 1inch protocol integrated into it. (1inch is an aggregator which searches for the best prices by liquidity of different swaps like Uniswap, Pancakeswap, and more)

But its mostly for the BSC/ETH chains. I have yet to find a better alternative for cross chain trading. If anyone knows of a better way to swap multiple crypto, please do tell me as a reply Smiley
