2541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Class in my Village High School on: July 01, 2022, 10:05:55 AM
It is no longer a news that education (information) is the key to human life. If you are not informed definitely you must be deformed. So last week I took a bold step by meeting my village high school principal and discussed with him to teach the school students "bitcoin" from junior classes to senior classes, and I told him the numerous benefits. The students will be also exposed to the cryptocurrency ecosystem, license (liberty) to own any amount of bitcoin, make transactions to any country without limit, there will be no central authority or bank (intermediary) control of the assets. Individuals control their bitcoin through seed phrase. They can use it to buy and sell goods and services online with ease, investing and the etc. And the principal accepted my request. So yesterday, I entered the class to start the teaching. In fact the students really enjoyed the class. In the evaluation time, the students respond well. I believe that is a good development. And the following scheme of work and the lesson note was form to start the almost gone academic session.

Very cool! I am 110% onboard with this!

Education is really the key to becoming a better person and obviously, a much wealthier person. The fact that teachers like this still exist is like a breath of fresh air for me. I do however worry if they can really afford to make investment decisions on volatile currencies when their lives are already very much dependent on day-to-day expenses which leave them with nothing to spare for Bitcoin investments?

I wish the students and the teachers best of luck and a happy Bitcoin life!
2542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Problem, Is it Possible to be a Thing of the Past? on: July 01, 2022, 08:59:06 AM
Actually it can be a thing of decision, if a gambler decides to stop, it would literally be very difficult for him, it's just a matter of time and determination. The gambler should see it as a thing that's not beneficial. As time goes on that gambler tries to forget about it and also trying to concentrate on other important things that would be more beneficial. Gradually he/she would forget and move on.
It is possible for it to be a thing of the past

Of course things like gambling addictions can be overcome and it can become possible for it to be a thing of the past, but thats easier said than done. In reality most people need some kind of outside help when overcoming their gambling problems. Self help is really only going to bring you so far before you realise that you lack the discipline (as most people do) to go through with it.

Addictions are unfortunately a long term brain hormone disbalance. So "forgetting and moving on" is reallly just a fairy tale. That takes years.
2543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and MLM Schemes on: July 01, 2022, 08:46:46 AM
I just heard that gambling is just like MLM schemes as people only loses both in gambling and MLM schemes ?
Is it true ?

You should be a bit more precise when stating that MLM schemes are somewhat like gambling. I really do not see a connection?

People who gamble are very much aware that they can and definitely will lose their money when gambling. So saying that someone got tricked into losing their money with gambling is not an excuse which will work for the scam accuser/gambler.

On the other hand MLM is basically just pyramid schemes with different templates. Either template, its still just a strategy to trick people who unknowingly fall for the "scam".

But that has the property of deceiving someone, unlike with gambling. Every idiot knows gambling is risky. Not everyone knows a MLM is bad.
2544  Economy / Gambling / Re: Alternatives to 1xbit on: July 01, 2022, 08:32:18 AM

Personally, I think all casinos with the most avatars/signatures on the forum are the oldest and most reliable. Fortunejack and Stake fit very well within that category. But then again it depends on the type of gambler you are and which games you prefer.

Happy gambling.

I prefer that the parameter for a reputable casino is if they have no existing and unresolved complaints in the scam section, it's not wearing avatars and signatures and being old, 1XBIT has a current signature campaign and they are known, scammers, sometimes they launch three campaign at the same time, that funds come from people they've scammed.

Well, what I mean by that is that a heavily monitored online gambling casino, or any other kind of business, is extremely unlikely to be a scam. Because they would be the easiest to spot and would be the quickest to be reported. And anyone who continues to endorse their shady business will be given red trust by our community. So yes, the more people that wear their avatars, the surer you can be that they are not up to anything bad.

I don't know about you but most people are careful to research who they advertise for. Especially if they can be given red trust in the future for it.

So thats what I mean. They are just easier to spot when a lot of people are involved.
2545  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM EXCHANGE MONITOR: BestChange on: July 01, 2022, 08:11:12 AM
Bad business practices and horrible morals is not what constitutes a scam, although we sometimes wish it did. So basically there is no ground for a scam accusation nor will anyone do anything about this. Sorry to have to tell you that.

The best thing you can do is spread your message about their bad practices and hope that people stop using their services. They have social media channels, I presume? Thats where you can show their userbase what they really are.

But be careful not to go too far and give them an excuse to accuse you of something like libel....
2546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies: Don't panic and learn to hold on: June 30, 2022, 03:42:19 PM
I think this topic is worth to remind again for many newbies who panic about the current situation where Bitcoin price $30K strong resistance now drop to $24K currently traded. There are many so called expert who always predict Bitcoin price will go to x, the bottom is x etc, also one of them were offer to give his money to everyone if his prediction gone wrong, this strategy is to convince newbies to believe his words.

Take look on these so called expert who predict Bitcoin price:
1. The ‘Ultimate’ Bottom?—Major Fund Manager Reveals Shock Bitcoin Price Prediction And Stark Crypto Warning As Ethereum, BNB, XRP, Solana, Cardano And Avalanche Plummet
2. Renowned analyst who predicted Bitcoin price top at $69,000, now claims the bottom is at $24,000
3. Bitcoin price may bottom at $15.5K if it retests this lifetime historical support level
4. Crypto is dead. Long live crypto
5. Long-Time Bitcoin Bear Offers $1,000 To Every Retweeter If His Prediction Of BTC Hitting $10K In 2022 Goes Wrong

Don't believe of those so called expert predictions since there's no guarantee their words will come true, there's no crystal ball in this world. If they're a time travel who know the correct Bitcoin price in the future, they would shut up and just bought the bottom price, so they can sell at the peak since they're already know it. But, why does they need to told everyone the Bitcoin price will crash to x etc? Because they want to gain popularity if their words are come true. They just randomly guessing the price in hoping they're correct.

Did I scared after looking this chart? No, because if you look at the history, you will see Bitcoin have been survive 3 times about the dump/crash.

The first is on 2017 and 2018, where the peak is $19K and the bottom is $3K (84% change)
The second is on 2019 and 2020, where the peak is $11K and the bottom is $5K (54% change)
The third is on 2021, where the peak is $60K and the bottom is $30K (50% change)

Now we're previously at the peak $69K and currently the bottom is $24K (65% change) is still not beat the 2017 and 2018 history where the change is 84%, why would we panic and not trust Bitcoin anymore? Think about it.

If you still keep thinking Bitcoin will dead, do you forget all the adoption from any institutional, government, and foremost the countries who accept it as a legal tender. Not to mention Bitcoin already improve a lot of the development e.g. Lightning network to solve the scalability issues, using for friendly energy for mining, hash rate & difficulty increase to prevent from 51% attack etc. Bitcoin right now is more scarcer since it's already mined 19Million Bitcoin, only 2Million left. We're already close Bitcoin will be accepted in entire countries due to it's value and become a currency since the price will be more steady. This is the reason why I AM HODLING.

Don't predict the bottom, just do Dollar Cost Averaging or Averaging down to accumulate more Bitcoin. We're as a Bitcoin enthusiast are looking for long term, not short term or instant profit by pump & dump of shitcoins. Also there's nothing wrong to diversify your investment, but make sure you're diversify to other assets/commodities e.g. gold, silver, bonds, real estate etc, never diversify to shitcoins since it's worst than Bitcoin.

A very nice thread with a lot of useful info for newbies with shaky hands!

I think it also bears reminding that most of BTC is held by whales who are very manipulative and will do anything to buy the shaky hands's coins at a cheap price! They will even manipulate news and the market price just so people start panicking more.

The best way to fight against this is to hodl and not to give into your panic!

Bitcoin has proven time and time again that it is indeed the best investment of our age. So turn off your monitors, close your charts and find something else to do instead of worrying about every dip!
2547  Economy / Gambling / Re: Alternatives to 1xbit on: June 30, 2022, 12:40:36 PM
Hey guys,

It’s my first post here. I just found this forum yesterday because I was researching on 1xbit and spent the night reading threads about 1xbit scams. I used 1xbet (with an E) for a long time and I loved the variety they had in sports, so 1xbit seemed like the obvious choice for my first crypto sports book. You see, I usually bet on smaller sports, or lower divisions. So 1xbet used to suit me perfectly.  Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like 1xbit is a good idea. Lots and lots (lots!) of complains around here.

One thing I commonly saw more experienced users say on those threads was something like “you have so many good and trustworthy casinos out there, why would you go to 1xbit given it’s reputation”?

I totally understand where this is coming from, but most of us had absolutely no idea about all the scams and complains against them. And besides that, we don’t know any more. How do I find the good and trustworthy when I have to look through dozens or hundreds of different casinos. I’ve been reading lists and lists and researching dozens of casinos but I can’t reach any conclusion.

So I decided to create this topic to see if the community wants to help a newbie. A newbie who is very concerned right now after reading all the horror stories around here. Please give me some names if you don’t mind helping. Don’t point me out to more lists. I’ve been there form hours now.

Which casinos are overall loved around here?
Which one is safe to deposit my money on?
Which one is your personal favorite?

The only must is for it to have sportsbook. That’s what I am interested in. Oh and to be safe and honest. That’s also a must  Grin

Before choosing a casino be sure to look at their trust status on Bitcointalk. How much positive and negative ratings they have is important. Personally, I would stay away from any online crypto gambling casino which has any kind of negative scam accusations. But those are easy to spot on their profile.

Personally, I think all casinos with the most avatars/signatures on the forum are the oldest and most reliable. Fortunejack and Stake fit very well within that category. But then again it depends on the type of gambler you are and which games you prefer.

Happy gambling.
2548  Economy / Economics / Re: The Russian Federation fails to repay debt - 100 million USD unpaid on: June 30, 2022, 11:34:45 AM

It is curious how expensive wars tend to be... and when you have to pay for them with real money... ouch!

I have no idea but if it was anything similiar to the Civilisation games, then a country would need to pay heavily for war. But I have nothing realistic to compare it to. I doubt Russia can keep up their superficial ruble price up for very long as their reserves will, at some point run out and nobody big but China and India are willing to do business with them. And even then, Russia is being financially and politically exploited as much as possible while India and China are following sanction guidelines.

Lets see how things look after a year or two of war. I doubt it will end anytime soon.
2549  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: DCA? on: June 30, 2022, 11:25:23 AM
DCA'ing, for me, is the best risk to benefit way to invest, especially in crypto and the stock market where you will find a lot of volatility (even more so among IPOs/ICOs and newer projects). But that really depends on how you plan to invest. If you like the spot market and you are a dedicated hodler (long term investor) then DCA is a good option for you. If you leverage or trade options or even daytrade on the spot market then DCA is pointless as you just risk it all anyway.

To each their own, I guess.
2550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any changes experienced within body - Gambling??? on: June 30, 2022, 11:13:15 AM
I may say, it is a game, bet (loss) phobia that is causing those pains in your body. Normally if you are winning all time, you would not have such pain or the health issue you mentioned. You were afraid that anytime you played gamble or you bet game with someone you would lose so with that that you Developed syndrome of headache which would have transmitted the headache pain to stomach pain and other parts of the body. And I also suggest that since you have finally detected the caused of the pains, it only you can heal yourself by leaving gambling. Though it might be very hard to leave if you are addicted to it but now your health is better than the games. Because prevention is better than cure. Although there might be other factors can contribute to stomach and other pains in the body. Such as stress, arguments hunger etc but the father of them all is the lose phobia. Once you treat the lose phobia the other ones will be taking care of.

I think a lot of people are completely and utterly ignoring the psychological illness inducing part of gambling when they talk about the physical health aspects of having any kind of gambling addiction.

Why would anyone think that the two aren't related to each other? The mind is a powerful thing and obviously a psychological issue can quickly develop into some sort of physical illness.

Phobias like you said, are a psychological illness that can be developed through gambling but thats just the beginning. It gets worse once your body starts falling apart from the phobia.
2551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should the physically challenged be exempted from bitcoin? on: June 30, 2022, 10:03:17 AM
I consider how bitcoin adoption is ever increasing each day despite bitcoin running dip in price, many people have seen and taken the good advantage in using the digital currency for many reasons that best suit their needs, now i consider this set of physically challenged people (blind, deaf and dumb) who may also want to make good opportunity out of it for an adoption, as we all know they would have heard about bitcoin but not knowing how to go about it, should we consider them in participating from this great benefits in bitcoin or assume an exemption for them.

Why do i need to raise this is because i have centers allocated for these set of people from my location here and i see it a good advantage for them to as well participate in using bitcoin but to be sincere i lack the first move to helping this challenged people out and i see bitcoin as a currency that shouldn't have a barrier of usage just as the fiat is.

I will like to hear from our suggestions, various ways we can use to aid these set of people (blind, deaf, dumb) to know about bitcoin, and if there are instructional materials or steps that could help facilitate their awareness to bitcoin, its uses and application.

Thats a road that I would not want to go down if I were you. Why would you start banning people like the physically challenged from bitcoin purchases and trades? That would not only harm bitcoin itself but also harm the financial situation of the person in question. And at what point do we start drawing lines and where do we draw them? Whats next, do we exempt people with a history of making mistakes? What about criminal records? How much crime is too much? Do shoplifters get their bitcoin freedom taken away from them?

See, its all BS if you ask me. Everyone should have bitcoin freedom. Otherwise whats the point in bitcoin?
2552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it possible to control Gambling behaviors? on: June 30, 2022, 09:00:24 AM
According to many studies and the opinions of experts in behavioral psychology, gambling-related behaviors can be controlled, whether to reduce addictive behaviors or avoid addiction for beginners;

In brief, You can deal well with your gambling problems by learning about it, addressing it, controlling what might drive you to gambling, and then getting support.

Is this possible according to your opinion and what are the tips that can be followed?

Of course it is possible to control gambling behaviors. You just need to first be able to control yourself, your surroundings and anything that may or may not put you in an emotional state in which you are more vulnerable to losing money because of bad decisions or rash mistakes. How do these mistakes happen? Well you start losing streaks and that makes you angry, your wife calls you and makes you even more frustrated, your boss yells at you and now you are ready to lose everything because your emotional state has compromised you to the point where you just do not care about anything. Thats when you lose control.
2553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on how I controlled my Gambling addiction. on: June 29, 2022, 01:25:05 AM
‌They said when you identify a problem then the solution is possible. Addition is a Big problem to Most gamblers out there and one very big challenge with gamblers is that they don't even get to notice they're already addicted to gambling even when they're told , I was a victim even to the extent I used most of my University school fees to gamble back days until when I realized myself and put a permanent stop to my addiction and now Play moderately.
I have a lot of friends too currently involved into same addiction whom I have made necessary efforts to getting them out only few were able to buy the idea. So I'm talking from the point of experience. However, After lots of advice from my friends who saw where I was headed to coupled with the last bet that almost got me drop out of school then, had me took that bold decision.

HOW I DID GET TO SOLVING THAT PROBLEM

1•
I penalized myself by having myself deassociated from all kind of gambling friends and taking up a new friends who was into Bitcoin and have that time transferred to things related to crypto currency activities and it was actually part of what lead me into my discovery of Bitcoin and today here I am.

2•
I stopped visiting betting shops in my locality and online betting sites too.

3•
I stopped myself from watching football and anything related to footballing activities for months and I used those time to engage in
other valuable things like going to the gym and reading more books during the time when there are important football matches going on.

4•
Relocating from my house to another area where my friends could not find me easily because there was this pressure from them why I
suddenly started to ingnoring them so I had to relocate.

Wow. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to go through with all of that. Congratulations to you for trying so hard to get rid of your gambling addiction. Although it is a bit strange that you would continue going on a gambling subforum even though it might entice you to gamble again?

Moving so just that your friends would leave you alone is a bit extreme. Could you not have just talked to them about your gambling addiction? They may have been a bit more understanding than you might think. Burning bridges like friendships is kind of a last resort measure.

I am rooting for you, buddy! Don't fall back into your old habits!!
2554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To build your Professionalism on casino on: June 29, 2022, 12:21:14 AM
A person needs to think deeply about a few things before starting gambling in online. Adherence to these principles a gambler have more chances of getting success in gambling platform which can make a gambler responsible from the start.

Things to obey:

1. A gambler should gambling as an entertainment, not as a way to make money or the earning source of money.

2. Don't try to bet with your everyday life leading money which is very much needed or can't afford to lose  like billing, rent, food or something like that.

3. You should Understand the potential of the game, embrace it wisely and predict your chances of winning at that particular game.

4. It is more important to read the terms and conditions carefully other wise everything will be invalid.

5. No betting on YouTube reviews or anyone's advice. Prepare yourself to understand the advantage or disadvantage.

6. If you lose your assets then don’t pursue the losses.

I think your success in gambling will definitely visible if you follow the these instructions. Here  you can add your knowledge and experience for the flourishing to this concern.

A very nice list of what to do and what not to do, if I may say so myself. However I would still add something: 7. Walk away from the gambling table (platform, website, whatever) if you are noticing that you are becoming somewhat emotional. Becoming frustrated that you are losing and trying to win back the money by making ill-informed or drastic bets is a downhill battle which you will eventually lose.

I really do fall for emotional betting every now and then and it really is a big problem that can easily be avoided.
2555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the dip and Invest in Bitcoin for long term on: June 29, 2022, 12:09:04 AM
An investment should always be a long term thing. Thats why you do so much research on your investments beforehand. If you truley believe in something then obviously you are going to be setting a goal of years before you cash out. Bitcoin however is not only a long term investment but a firm belief that we are switching to a different monetary system. A third generation of money technology.

So to me there really is not much point in "cashing out" at that point.
Wasserkraftwerke so machen.

Also ja, fragen kostet nix.

Hey Bros, i'm in a hurry, so here's that promised photo from NGC7000 (North America Nebula). Seond try, because my lens fogged in the humid air of the night.
Details: 200mm lens on a H-Alpha modified DSLR, 100x25 sec frames for the stars, 20x60 sec frames for the nebula.

You could zoom into the most microscopic, darkest spot on this picture and you would still find more stars than you can see in this picture with your bare eyes. Man, the universe is sexy. Thanks for sharing the pic!

Reminder: We're days away from seeing James Webb's first images (non-calibration/non-test ones). Exciting times ahead! We are going to see the beginning of the universe, literally.
2558  Economy / Gambling / Re: around 1.6 billion people worldwide gamble, What about a poker gamefi?? on: June 27, 2022, 09:01:01 AM
First of all, at least make an original post if you're actually interested in creating a topic concerning the article in question (and you are curious about said article). Secondly, Gamefi for gambling? That seems very redundant. Casinos already have incentives to find new people who become interested in their games and keeping old gamblers on their platform.

The main reason it seems unnecessary to me is because gambling itself is not really something you need to incentivize with a play-to-earn system as its quite good at marketing itself to the right crowd as is.

If you guys are going to panic sell everytime when Bitcoin goes bearish then you guys might as well just burn your fiat instead of buying Bitcoin. At least the fire will keep your cold shaky hands warm  Grin Roll Eyes

Bitcoin has a history of scary dumps and amazing pumps. Lets not start speculating about at how much % loss Bitcoin becomes "dead" again.

I know the veteran hodlers are not the ones panicking. You guys should question why that is.

Bitcoin will never die just because of a volatile dump during its bearish corrections.

But.. some expecting pump, some dump, some capitalization on the second dip at 14K.    Cheesy   Cheesy   Cheesy  Cheesy   Cheesy

No one knows sh!t. Actually.. Not rly, because Banks are on 'suicide watch' right now, so we will see if they shoot themselves in the foot and try to dump.   Roll Eyes   Roll Eyes

Odds are 50/50 then?

Nope.. it is 100% certain going for another dip. Then we get to receive capitalization.    Cool   Cool
