3421  Economy / Economics / Re: crypto for the development of local farmers...can.....? on: November 27, 2021, 03:32:09 PM
Can cryptocurrencies still be applied to future economic developments in the agricultural sector because it seems difficult?

If we take a look at the agricultural sector, there does not seem to be any innovations for implementing cryptocurrency yet. We already have cryptocurrencies which are very effective as a type of payment currency. But there is no need to limit it to only the agriculture sector. There is not much that you can do in agriculture with blockchain, I believe.
Perhaps NFT's may be something that can be adopted for people who want to buy certain animals? For example, in Japan, they auction off expensive Kobe beef cows but perhaps you could "reserve" them with an NFT at a young age.
3422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or hardware wallet ? on: November 27, 2021, 03:24:07 PM
What are the advantages and disadvantages of these two methods to store your coins?

It all depends on if you trust yourself more than trusting an exchange like, say binance. There are ups and downs for both. For example, if you trust yourself to keep your own funds, nobody will be able to freeze your wallet or put withdrawal restrictions on you. You can do as you like. However you are responsible for keeping your wallet safe out of the hands of thieves. If someone gets your seed phrase, thats it. your funds will be gone.

On the other hand, if you have done KYC with an exchange and THEY get hacked, then they MIGHT BE legally responsible for paying you back for their mistake. This however does not count if someone accesses your account because you gave away your login information. That being said, if the exchange itself scams you and runs away with your funds, thats too bad.

I prefer keeping funds out of exchange wallets as much as possible.

Potential vaccine-induced evolution.: "Vaccination increases the transmission advantage of an escape variant"

Biodom and Somac, can we get your opinion on this? Is dose sparing in SA breeding immune escape variants?

It’s dead.

Death by covid. Bear market, sure. CNBC know what they're talking about, It's obvious.

I don't even get WHY markets dump because of the news.
What do you do with all the fiat after selling your assets?
Or is it more about "sell before everybody else is selling, to get in again after everybody has sold"?

Last weekly candle was well in the red. So I think this is just people selling because they think the expected dump might go deeper because of the covid news. Any hopes of last weeks candle being a bear trap are gone. The dump goes on.

This is it!

Edit:

The new variant scare is what is driving the dump. Going by the last corona dump, I would say this one will be a short term flash crash also.
3426  Economy / Economics / Re: Prospective retailer on: November 26, 2021, 04:23:29 AM
I was just wondering don't you think becoming a retail vendor through a well developed exchange can earn you passive income or you haven't thought in that direction. Or could there be an  untold/hidden mysteries behind setting up an exchange because we still need more exchanges so we can give crypto more boost beyond government regulations

I mean, literally any kind of business is an income-generating opportunity lol not only crypto platforms. But if you think it's "passive income", then nah. A lot of people are underestimating the amount of work needed to make a crypto related business to actually work. Like, securing your users' funds itself is going to be tough enough and will definitely keep you up at night, but then you also need to do typical business stuff like marketing and stuff.

Yeah, I am going to second that. Getting into crypto related business is hard because first, its still quite a new thing and second, you need years of experience to understand the depth of how everything related to crypto works. So only after you have obtained the knowledge that most people don't have, you can start gathering experience on how to add to that knowledge to create something that the crypto space needs. If you don't show that you bring something to the table, your just a crypto fan, not an expert.

3427  Economy / Economics / Re: Preparing for the future. on: November 26, 2021, 04:17:22 AM
From my point of view, I see my economic and career future in blockchain. The formalities of having a degree are being replaced with proving yourself and your abilities by doing.

I don't see a need for my formal university education (physics). Even though it does help a lot with logical thinking and the mathematics required for (good) coding (which I am currently trying to master). The age of our parents, where everything relied on the schools you went to or the degrees you gathered in order to impress potential bosses, is over. You can learn everything you need on the internet. We literally have free books and university courses on the web.
3428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if governments make Bitcoin centralized? on: November 26, 2021, 04:10:59 AM
Well, my opinion on the matter of government centralization of Bitcoin is that even if they were to control the right amount of hashrate to take control, why would they do so for a currency which is already mostly mined and the attempt of centralization alone will only incentivize people to switch to a different crypto on another blockchain, thus plummeting the value of Bitcoin and making it something that nobody wants to use.

The attempt itself would be a huge waste of time and funds. In the end, a fruitless endeavor.

Was kommen einige hier mit Beschaffungskriminalität?

This is a bear trap...

Just sayin'.

Strap in?  Or Strap on?  Pick your fav I guess...

Just quoting as a reminder...

One last reminder.  You all strapped?

Lol I could eat these words, but I am 90% sure we are going to see a rather violent turn pretty soon...

Without Proudhon we can't be sure. It might be a regular, expected correction or it may be a bear trap. Good lord, where is Proudhon's math when you need it?

BTW, regarding inflation..around here all building stones (marble, porcelain, etc.) suddenly shoot up upwards in price (30% or more)..contractors are saying that this is due to the supply chain problems. Inflation is definitely outpaces gold rn, bitcoin is still able to hold on.

A funny factoid: beef-eating/collecting bees

https://gizmodo.com/flesh-eating-bees-renounced-pollen-for-rotting-meat-1848112925

Never thought that it would be possible.

While ordinary bees have pockets on their back legs to store pollen as they flit from flower to flower, the vulture bees have repurposed the stores as “little chicken baskets"

I love it.

Meme aside is it really possible to earn some Satoshis with couple of descent ASIC miner machines in the garage?
Only if you have really cheap electricity.

You can always produce your own electricity.

They want a race war.

This is not a race war.

This is communists taking advantage of those who cannot think well for themselves.

With the perpetrator bonding out for $1,000, I have grave concerns with the trajectory this country is on the precipice of navigating.

Always keep an eye on the sidelines, on the things they are trying to distract from. Everytime something big is supposed to happen, they always try to lure attention away, so that the crowd does not interfere during crucial moments.

Pet food is just human food from the parts that don't appeal as delicious/high quality to humans and is considered low quality. The manufacturers grind it all up and repackage it as "pet food". The retailers jack up prices and market it as healthier for pets. The truth is: its cheaper and healthier if you just feed them regular food that you eat too.

Just make sure you dont give them food that they shouldn't eat. (chocolate, grapes, onions, garlic, salt/seasonings...)

Pet food is a marketing scam.

My late father was a truck driver, he owned one of those really large SCANIA trucks. I remember when I was a kid, he told me a funny story. He was travelling abroad with a couple of fellow drivers. So one night they went to the local supermarket to buy some canned food to eat. The food tasted really delicious, and they commented that this country had some really tasty canned food. When they collected the empty cans and remaining stuff to throw away, one of them noticed that the food was in fact dog food. They didn't spot it when they bought it from the supermarket! Nothing happened to them. They didn't buy it again though. When he came back he spoke normally, he didn't bark or anything.

It's fine to eat. But may be less safe due to the fact that pet food does not have to follow the same regulations as human food. Our aversion to eating pet food comes from the fact that its called "pet food". That makes it seem alien and dirty in our minds.
