I think merits don't have to be forced, i have seen some people chasing merits posting lot of articles and sharing hot news, and they get the merits, but i feel like is a forced way. It should be natural. If you want to get merits just be yourself and make some contributions to the forum. That's the right formula.

Stable coins like Tether is not good investment, of course it is in stable price but useful when the market is down, you can convert your coins into stable coins so you can not lose more money.
I do not agree with you, Tether is a good investment when the market is down. If we jump to Tether before the crash then we will end with the same amount of money but a bigger amount of cryptos... Stable coins is a safe way to trade Bitcoins against USD without touching the banks.

$25 million is a huge amount, it isn't the first time someone abuses the smart contracts to take a big amount of money to their pockets. As i always say: The problem with smart contracts is the people smarter than them This is not the last time we will see an attack like this.

I'm using TOR browser for log in bitcointalk. Which browser do you use when you log in bitcointalk? Some may use more than one browser as well. For instance, sometimes I use Chrome as well when I log in from mobile. In that case, vote for the option which you used most. Well, it's nothing special. Got curious from this thread. You don't require to state it here if you are hesitating. Just voting on the poll is okay. Tor browser is the best option, and the link, we get to avoid captcha is really easy to use. But i personally use Chrome. It has work fine for me in the past years and that's why i keep using it. Great poll by the way

The problem with doing this is the legal status of bitcoin on each country, maybe it could work in the places who see bitcoin as money, but in Mexico, you can't make payments of a product or a service with bitcoin because is not money, is called a 'Virtual Active'. So, to have those services and more, first, we need to fix the legal status of bitcoin around the world.

... It probably we go beyond $10k if the current momentum will continue and also to the point that we flatten already the virus during that time. Market anticipations that most are doing now it eventually helping the market to move slowly back high and breaking the $7.2k resistance. But it was then recorder that previous halving show a massive impact on the price almost a year after and that could something to repeat as the market behavior seems to look the same.
Yep, this is the right time to hold our coins. I think it will bump more than those $10k, not sure how up but it will be a nice surprise for us. Some people say I'm too optimistic, but I'm just 'starting to believe'

The first step is to buy bitcoins, for that there are a lot of exchanges, but i would recommend localbitcoins. And the second step is to do your first transaction, you need to be careful in that step because if you do something wrong you can lose your coins. So, be sure where are you sending the coins.
And any questions you have, feel free to ask it here on the forum and we will help you.

People need to stop the obsession in knowing who Satoshi is. The dude did us good by creating a great alternative to the current financial system, and they're going to repay it by trying to find out who he/she/they is/are? Especially knowing that Satoshi obviously don't want to be known due to how much privacy precautions he/she/they had. Let the legend rest peacefully.
True, lot of people still obsessed with this question. And if they know the answer that will not change anything. The only thing that could happen is a deception if Satoshi is not what we think. So, the best thing to do is to stop asking ourselves, who is Satoshi.

These recommendations are motivated by GSCs predominantly intended for retail purposes that may pose financial stability risks, but could also apply to stablecoins or other crypto-assets that pose similar risks. [/b] https://www.fsb.org/wp-content/uploads/P140420-1.pdfPor ejemplo, en la siguiente cita: In March 2019, the Committee published a newsletter on the risks associated with crypto-assets. The Committee noted that the continued growth of crypto-assets has the potential to raise financial stability concerns and increase risks faced by banks, and that many types of crypto-assets do not reliably provide the standard economic functions of money issued or backed by a government or public authority and are unsafe to rely on as a medium of exchange or store of value. The newsletter outlined a set of minimum supervisory expectations for banks that are authorised, and decide, to acquire crypto-assets and/or provide related services.

I’m a big fan of the forum and a big fan of history , so during this lockdown I thought I’d combine the two There are some highly important, top quality and extremely informative historical threads that every newcomer to the forum should read . These threads are not those ! These threads are some of the more off beat , weird and wonderful yet interesting posts, that appeared a long time ago , in a galaxy, far , far away... Did this forum member change his name... for 2000 BTC? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2655.20The first altcoin discussion ... zitcoin ? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=808.0Was this the first attempt at a 51% attack ? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=431.100Have a read if you’re bored and if you enjoy I’ll add a few more From the last thread you posted, i found something more wired than the attack by itself and is The anonymous user who posted there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=431.msg42799#msg42799I didn't know the forum had that feature in the past.

The topic was started in the G20... they calls stablecoins a systemic risk. And is really fun because with printed money the government's just can print more money and increase their debts, but is a different story with stable coins. Govs can't print them and that's why they are afraid.
If those coins get banned that would be really hard for the crypto world.
