361  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Merit System Generating Enough Merits? on: February 26, 2018, 08:37:22 PM
Well, I don't really see how they can be mad, they're newcomers to the community, and newcomers always have a hard time integrating or becoming established among well known members, this is true for all industries. I do believe the initial entry barriers are slightly too high, but I've always believed that Hero and Legendary member status should only be reserved for people clearly established in the community, those that contribute greatly to the forum and offer value. It shouldn't simply be a post good quality material thing, but something like a privilege bestowed by the mods, community votes or admins. Or perhaps it should be something like, the top 10% of merit earners per rank are eligible to rank up immediately after reaching the activity requirement.
362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex is bought by Circle on: February 26, 2018, 08:31:44 PM
Very interesting, particularly considering Goldman Sachs was publicly bashing cryptocurrencies, stating that they are doomed to fail.

However, I do believe this might encourage other institutional investors to move some money into the system, it'll certainly lead to an increase in BTC price.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk.org user loses $2,000,000 in Bitcoin on: February 26, 2018, 08:29:42 PM
Wow, thanks for contributing this steaming POS thread to the forum, we definitely needed it. I mean look at all of those links you included to the guy that apparently lost the $2,000,000. How can you have been here for so long, and yet still have no idea how to contribute to the forum.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Earnings on: February 25, 2018, 10:02:52 PM
Obviously your bounty earnings will be dependent on how much effort you put into them, it is likely that the highest earning bounty hunters are those that dedicate a lot of time and effort to the job. Certainly over $30,000 per year is possible if you choose the right projects, get in early and contribute to translation campaigns. If you are a well known member, or are highly ranked you can earn much more by managing the bounties directly, as you can earn $5,000-$10,000+ for a big ICO, usually paid in BTC/ETH rather than tokens.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Start an ICO? on: February 25, 2018, 09:58:24 PM
Well the first things you need are startup capital and a good team to work with, you'll need to draft up a whitepaper outlining the core principles and technology used by the ICO, ensuring to adequately highlight your target audience and demonstrate potential use cases. Overall, if your idea is simply inferior to other ICOs, or if there isn't enough impetus for investors, it's unlikely it will succeed.

In short;

1. Get a team
2. Gather funds
3. Develop your website, whitepaper and minimum viable product
4. Market your idea, bug test and gather investors
5. Huh
366  Other / Meta / Re: please tell me on: February 25, 2018, 09:54:27 PM
That site is not related to bitcointalk, and I would avoid any website making such claims without proof.

Also, my antivirus warned me about a potential threat on that page, so you should avoid that website in general. I would recommend running a virus scan after visiting that site, as it may have a driveby mining script on it.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few months ago the meme pool had 300K unconfirmed translations ... on: February 25, 2018, 09:52:07 PM
Other than an increase in segwit adoption, there has been a big increase in mining power allowing the mempool to be cleared much faster. Also, a lot of exchanges are starting to consolidate transactions now, sending them out in batches rather than continually flooding the network, works out cheaper that way as it keeps transaction sizes down.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much can you make from bount campaigns? on: February 25, 2018, 12:28:47 AM
I have heard some users earning around $5,000-$10,000 per year on average from bounty campaigns. Of course this number can be massively increased if you have a strong social media presence, if you're a hero/legendary user, and if you select the right campaigns and get in as early as possible. Some bounties have had massive payouts, but finding them is not the easiest.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Im afraid of Hackers/Scammers! on: February 25, 2018, 12:25:38 AM
Hey guys.Im a newbie on crypto world. However i started doing my first money 1 year ago using e personal method. However i have improved and now i have like 4-5k worth of alt which i keep on exchange wallets. Are they safe?Or should i get anther wallet?

Don't keep all of your savings on exchange wallets as I'm sure you're aware these tend to be hacked periodically. Only keep your standard trading volume on the exchange, and move the rest to a private wallet. Also, exchanges tend to ramp up the transactions fees, so it's in your best interest in the long run.
370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do other currency make money in todays competition? on: February 25, 2018, 12:19:00 AM
From my experience of looking at ICOs, nearly all of them seem to generate at least $100,000 in investment capital (in the form of cryptocurrency of course). I would say that is a fair amount of money, particularly when you consider that some of them are relatively rudimentary concepts, some don't even have a minimal functioning system yet. Well designed, well thought out ICOs and cryptos still stand to make good amounts, assuming they invest properly in the correct advertisements and customer experience.
371  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Campaigns for Newbie to get Bitcoin on: February 25, 2018, 12:16:31 AM
Seems like you signed up to this forum just to register for signature campaigns to make bitcoin, whilst I appreciate that everyone has to make money, at least be covert about it. To answer your question, newbies cannot enrol in signature campaigns because you cannot include a link in your sig due to the new forum updates.

However, you may be able to participate in bounty campaigns, particularly using Facebook, Twitter, Reddit etc, and then convert your bounty rewards to bitcoin later on.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: One of the few blockchain project that's worth it ? on: February 23, 2018, 05:39:59 PM
Usually ICOs that lack even basic marketing tend to be on the bad side, otherwise they would have at least been picked up by the various crypto news outlets. I don't see too much potential in this project, I would avoid it if I were you.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 years and no country has approved Bitcoin ?? on: February 23, 2018, 05:33:47 PM
10 years on and most countries have approved bitcoin to some degree, nearly every country has taxation rules for bitcoin, and very few have banned it. That is the equivalent of being accepted/approved in these countries. Are you expecting governments to replace their national current with bitcoin? Because that's never going to happen, as it removes the control the government requires to maintain control of its citizens and collect taxes.
374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin = $1 Million by 2020 on: February 23, 2018, 05:31:03 PM
I think it is unlikely that bitcoin will reach $1 million, because that would mean that those with over 1000 bitcoins will be billionaires. And there are thousands of people with over 1000BTC, there may even be people with over 100,000 BTC, which would make these people worth $100 billion dollars, which would be the highest personal wealth in the world.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today was the lowest it can go, Bitcoin price expected to Rise on: February 23, 2018, 05:28:57 PM
Good news guys, I have insiders tells me today was the lowest it could ever go so expect bitcoin price to soar to the sky high from
now on. Its expected to go up to $28000 in the next 2 months.

Insiders? You do realize bitcoin is not a company, you obviously don't have insiders, and you were wrong on your prediction.

However, that being said, bitcoin is likely to gradually rise, it may touch $9,500 before doing so though.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the price be stable? on: February 22, 2018, 11:10:26 PM
Bitcoin is a deflationary currency, its value will only rise over time due to increased demand, and reduced supply per unit time. This is because freshly minted bitcoins are increasingly difficult to obtain, and certainly are produced at a much slower rate than which the demand increases. Due to the typical features of supply and demand, this leads to an increase in bitcoin value.
377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My detailed review of Profit Trailer and experiences with it. on: February 22, 2018, 11:07:55 PM
Bookmarking this thread for later as your article looks like an interesting read.

Just had a quick glance through it and couldn't find any direct evidence that you turned such a small amount into almost 1BTC, seems like something you would want to back up with data, otherwise it will be seen at best as an exaggeration, or at worst a flat out lie.
378  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the best Long-term Hold? on: February 22, 2018, 11:04:49 PM
While what you said is true about older systems being replaced by newer ones, I don't think the same is necessarily true for Bitcoin, as the network is likely to be upgraded to meet new demands and compete with newer coins. Bitcoin has the first mover advantage, and is by a long shot the most widely known, used and accepted crypto. I think bitcoin and ethereum are the safest to hold in terms of volatility, but there are definitely some up and comers that will demonstrate better gains.
379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Invest in Bitcoin now or wait for another dip? on: February 22, 2018, 11:02:39 PM
Well, your lucky chance has just come. Bitcoin is currently experiencing a small dip, I highly doubt it's going to go much further than this, so now is a prime opportunity to buy. Remember, it is difficult to predict when the next dip will be, don't miss out again otherwise you may end up having to buy in at a higher price later.
380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin back below 6K on: February 22, 2018, 11:01:16 PM
Unlike last time there was a dip, there is no real reason for this one, other than a random snowball effect it seems. I would keep holding, though if it drops below $9,000 it may drop even further. Or, if you're worried. Just convert to USDT now, then buy back in when the price is clearly recovering.
