361  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Dual-purpose DPS800/DPS1200 breakout board on: May 25, 2016, 12:04:33 AM
I received my breakout board for my DPS1200 from ASICPuppy yesterday.  It's a nice and solid piece of hardware, feels much beefier that the previous unit I had.  I have not yet checked connector temps but I can tell already they will be cooler.  Unfortunately my new place is not wired for 240v, so I will be using my DPS1200 on my S5 and shipping my Avalon 6 off to be hosted.

Here's a few pictures for fun.

Temp. set up for now, just set up new home network last night and wanted to get back to mining asap.

Would I?  Yes.

Would someone else?  No.

Oklahoma City Thunder v Golden State Warriors it seems that Oklahoma City will not let this opportunity as it has already lead of 1 match against Golden State Warriors.I see troubles for GSW ahead. This time I will place again on over 222 points @1.820 instead of going straight for any team.

222 points is too high man. I don't know if that's the best idea for betting. Don't place bets with too much stakes.
I don't think an over bet on 222 points is a good bet, either.  Golden State is going to bounce back after having their butts handed to them last game.  Expect the GS defense to step it up this game, I think an under would be a better bet.
364  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread May 24 to June 6? picks are closed!!.... prize = 0.10 btc on: May 24, 2016, 09:59:57 PM
I think we're going to see double digits this adjustment, network hash power is on the up and up.  I wonder if it will push the halving into June, wouldn't that be crazy?

I am interested in the operating expenses for these massive mines, and at what point (with current BTC value) does the block solve reward no longer cover their costs?  Looks like, for at least the 12.5 coin period, the next gen hardware will continue to keep massive-scale mining profitable.  So sad for all the little guys...

Great, welcome back Wink!
Got my new router all configured last night, home network set up and secure, and I am back to mining!  Strange thing is my stick uses 0.02 more amps at new house than the old one, all other settings are the same...

Go go gekko sticks!

You have to ask for a manual payout if you want your balance, if it's more than a few (bazillion) dollars.
I only pay to the address on the account and no you can't remove it.
I know the "sweep up all the dust" code is something that will be addressed some day in the future.  I was wondering if there wasn't a simpler way to do something in the interim, like if a single block reward is greater than 10,000 satoshi then that payment sweeps up all the account dust?  I dunno, just a random thought I had just now...
367  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: いい antrun.de - Antrouter R1 Fun-Run - compare your share いい on: May 24, 2016, 09:43:29 PM
Hey, runners.  Got my internet on and my new router setup last night and my R1 is back up and fun-running.  Good luck, everyone!

@Denizs66:

Wow: 410Gh/s with an Antrouter R1  Wink?

No cheating!

Higher is not better, all that matters is that your block solve is higher than network difficulty.

I cried a little that a 183G share on your own Avalon 6 is now too low to solve a block...  Cry

On other news I am done moving and sending my Avalon to be hosted, so it will be mining 24/7 pretty soon!  Will be nice to not have to turn it off depending on the weather, but I will still spend some time with it on cksolo just to test my luck.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 23, 2016, 09:38:43 PM
Derozan and Biyombo each had above average games, though, so it's tough to take that into account.  I have a feeling Cleveland is going to blow this one out.

The Warriror/OKC is another story.  OKC looked super dominant in game 3, will be interesting to see how game 4 goes.
370  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150TH] [PPLNS 0.5%] Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: May 23, 2016, 05:42:57 PM
The spike is astounding in its magnitude.  We went from a pretty much flat/negative diff change to over 3.5% in a night.

If someone really put that much hash online, should have waited 48 hours for the adjustment and ride the diff for another 12 days.
The scary thought is, what if this is just the tip of the iceberg and they really are turning it on slowly?  "They" have been smart about the peaks before and timed them with the adjustment, so the fact that this one sticks out like a sore thumb is concerning.
371  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread May 11 to May 24? picks are open!!.... prize = 0.40 btc on: May 23, 2016, 05:39:54 PM
Did I say someone kicked on the afterburners?  Sorry, I meant ROCKET ENGINES!!!  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Sheesh, hashrate is just frazy right now...

Well we knew it was going to happen as the s-9 would replace the s-7.

I think we hoped it would be next jump or the one after it.

The up side  it causes a crash and burn  keeping them off line starting   NOW!
Holy cow, the network instantaneous hash rate is off the charts!  Try as we might for a winner, I think this one is going to carry over again.  No one could have anticipated this massive spike!

isn't the network currently 1.2 Eh? And in response to the guy wanting to run his own pool if you are knowledgably that is a good thing, I also suggest if you do set up any sort of pool, to use the relay network: http://bitcoinrelaynetwork.org/

Thanks for the link I will check it out.
I'm not actually looking to set up my own pool, I'm just interested in knowing what it takes to do so.

I feel like blockchain and similar ideas are very important technology.
I wish I got into it sooner, but there is still a lot of room for growth, and I want to be as educated as I can be in case a learning/ business opportunity arises.

Have you looked into the ckpool proxy thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=790323.0 I think that might have more of the technical type of info you are looking for rather than this thread.

Well I got my internet turned back on this weekend, but my old modem/router doesn't work anymore so I had to buy a new router.  Now I need to re-setup my home network, port forwarding, etc. etc. but I should be back to mining this week.  Woo hoo!

Whats funny is out of all of these ants, mine has submitted the least shares.
Well how long have you been mining with it?  Mine had one of the highest number of submitted shares, but it's been offline for a week while I move so I'll drop down in the pack a little.
376  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - DL580 1200w/800w PSU Breakout Boards in Stock! on: May 19, 2016, 06:30:42 PM
Tell that to the S7 I've had running on one since January.

But yeah they're also perfect for the Avalon6.

Hmm, did you downclock the S7 then?  I thought they needed 1400 watt to run.

Anyhoo, just ordered a board for my Avalon, thanks!

Can you use a compac stick with an antrouter as the controller as you can the U3?
If so, I will consider getting one when finances are good.
You can use it as a controller but I don't know if it provides enough power to the stick.  Might need a powered hub plugged into the ant.
379  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: いい antrun.de - Antrouter R1 Fun-Run - compare your share いい on: May 18, 2016, 10:31:53 PM
That's impressive, almost as fast as a compac stick now. How long are you able to run at that speed, and how stable is it?  Error rate?  Keep pushing!  Smiley
380  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: May 18, 2016, 07:03:04 PM
My mini rig:

3x Spondoolies SP20 - reversed fans (improved cooling), rotated (for horizontal heatsink layout)
3x 1200W HP Platinum server PSU - directly soldered short PCI-E cables
1x R-Pi - powered by 12V/5V car DC converter
Located at "guest hosting" at no cost but with power usage and noise limit (office).
You could replace those 3 boxes and 3 psu's with 1 Avalon6 for the same hash rate. Smiley
