761  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 169 blocks solved! on: March 10, 2016, 07:48:15 PM
Nice share for 60GH, is that one U3 or a bunch of little miners or what?

I've had an S5 for a week now and it's best share is only 1 billion and change so far: "bestever": 1,004,753,981.   Tongue
762  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: March 10, 2016, 07:43:46 PM
There's a fun diff thread that runs every adjustment period, check it out for hourly updates and speculation.  Still plenty of time in this period, but yea, it does look like it's going positive again.

Nice block solve, less than 0.5 CDF!  Let's keep solving them like that.  Cool
763  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: March 10, 2016, 07:39:40 PM
got it working now. did a power off on the psu and restarted it

Good result, after trying Soft Reboot, always worth trying a complete Power Down reboot. I find the S3 a lot fussier when making changes than the S5.

Rich
I found the same thing, often after a soft reboot my S3+ would come back with x's in the chip section.  Soft reboots would never clear them, but if I powered down for a bit then back up all the chips always came back o's.  I ran it overclocked to 500GH.
764  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN]BitQuick.co- Fastest method on the market of converting FIAT <--> BTC!! on: March 10, 2016, 07:34:04 PM
Just completed another smooth and fast transaction with BitQuick.co, https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/address/1C7ZG6rq6wVHsyLqcL2qwvvDBq33eSCf3k/?r=bitquick.  I like that you do not need to sign up with them and make an account.  I also like transacting with cash at a bank and having bitcoin appear in my wallet, very safe and not encroaching into my privacy.  Great service.
765  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Server Power Supply Interface Board - for standalone miners and GPU rigs on: March 10, 2016, 12:46:37 AM
This is the thread linked in the H/w Hosting Directory & Reputation thread for sidehack hosting, so just posting here to follow up with my pm sent earlier.

I am interested in having 1 unit hosted when you have space available, thanks.
766  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ 777Coin Signature Campaign ★☆★ Earn up to .0007/Post (Newb-Hero Welcome) on: March 10, 2016, 12:42:04 AM

Can't you just teach me instead of mocking me around? Do you think you there's a purpose of what you're doing?
He's not mocking you. You are asking the obvious here and what you asked just simply means that you are not fit to be a part of the campaign. If you don't know what constructive simpl means then I doubt you will last long here.
Constructive means your posts are relevant or helpful and not a spam. Be on topic, be more substantial in losting and you're good.

But I just asked where to post those constructive post?

On this bitcoin forum, under the appropriate subforums, in topics which you have something constructive to contribute.
767  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 167 blocks solved! on: March 09, 2016, 11:14:20 PM
Will you guys believe me that I literally just switched to the solo pool about 15minutes before I hit this block!??!
I thought someone was 'effing' with me in this thread, but not it's verified with the pending 25BTC.. WOOHOO..
That's funny you  mention this happening, because I notice that I often get my best "bestshare" within the first hour of starting a machine up.  Of course it's just that that's when I notice it, but I still find it interesting.   Congrats on the solo solve!
768  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: diff thread Mar 3 to Mar 17? picks are open.... prize = 0.1 btc on: March 09, 2016, 11:11:08 PM
Even at this early date, I think we are looking at an increase (i.e. a positive value). Unfortunately that puts Phil on the wrong side of zero. Smiley

Magic 8-Ball says "Try again later".....

So far in this period the trend is up, but the good news is that the up trend isn't as vertical as it has been.  I'm guessing that averaged with the last adjustment the net will be ~ 0.

Phil could multiply his pick by -1 and he might end up in the running.  I think if Phil ever wins then that means we all have to send him 0.1btc.  Grin
769  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: H/w Hosting Directory & Reputation on: March 09, 2016, 07:54:50 PM
I just want to add my positive feedback for sidehack’s hosting. I’ve had three of my S7’s hosted with him and miner uptime has been 100%. Vpn access is also great. I would highly recommend him for hosting  Grin
Does sidehack have a thread specific for his hosting?  I didn't see one here or any info at the gekkoscience website.  I sent him a pm, but I'm sure his inbox is flooded with messages all day long.  I'm looking to get into having hardware hosted, thanks for this thread, very helpful.
770  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: March 09, 2016, 07:53:27 PM
How many U3s can the router manage without a powered hub?

I did 3 with a very cheap usb 2.0 hub and it had no problems at all.  Not sure what is highest it's been pushed to.

Also with it having external power I don't think powered/non-powered have near as much effect as a miner such as stick miners that run off usb juice.
It is curious, though, because the bitmain instructions state that a powered usb hub should be used.  I used a powered hub with mine, but all my usb hubs are powered.
771  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 09, 2016, 06:45:06 PM
Waiting on an antrouter to act as a controller as we speak Smiley
Make sure when you get the R1 that you get Crazyguy's custom software for it, makes owning a U3 rather enjoyable as it all but cures the zombie issues that plague these machines.

To answer your first question, the estimated next difficulty doesn't use any metrics from the web at all.  It's a simple calculation using nothing more than the current block difficulty and network hash rate as obtained from the bitcoin core...
Code:
2^32 * diff / network hash rate = expected time to block
next diff = diff * 600 / expected time to block
I think there are better/more accurate ways of estimating the next difficulty (e.g. looking at number of blocks solved per day vs. expected number of blocks to be solved), but I don't know how much effort it would take to change or it it's even worth it.  But I can say with confidence that the next adjustment will not see a 182G diff like the dashboard currently predicts.  Wink
773  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 167 blocks solved! on: March 09, 2016, 06:39:36 PM
Dang, no love for android users =( the CKPool app for android is only for Kano pool.
Yea, the guy who wrote it was supposed to add solo pool support, but I think he vanished from the bitcoin world... would be nice it the android app worked for solo, too.
774  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: New avalon6 group buy interest thread. 650 usd on: March 09, 2016, 06:36:18 PM
Add me to the list for 1, it's time I add a current generation piece of gear to my collection.  The price here is right, it's less than the S7, and I would rather support Avalon than Bitmain.  I am looking to start hosting gear, this might be a good piece to start with.

I assume you will contact us with payment instructions?  Thanks, Phil.
775  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help trouble shooting Antminer S7 5.06TH on: March 09, 2016, 06:27:11 PM
If something is working good.... don't update the firmware.  There just is simply no reason.  Only bitmain one there was a great reason was one S3 firmware reset button did not work.... now that is huge deal update firmware.
I am the guy that begged people to never run a bitmaintech firmware.

many reason and stories abound.
Well there was also the S5 where the updated firmware would keep the machine from melting down in the event that it lost internet connection...

What a cool project and great idea, plus looks like a fun game.  Subscribing to the thread, looking forward to an open beta to check it out.  Good luck!
777  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 09, 2016, 06:14:21 PM
I found a freakin block with a Compac on Bitminter --   Shocked

Nice, now don't you wish you were mining solo :p

I do- I will post pic tomorrow

Wow, would love to see a pict showing a compac pulled a 158G share, that's impressive.

But if you were solo mining you would not have found the same block, work you do on one pool has no relation to work you would do at another or solo.
778  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 167 blocks solved! on: March 09, 2016, 06:11:20 PM
Just checking that I only need my btc address I don't need to have ".0" after it if I don't want a worker name. That right?

to mine solo, only a valid BTC address is the minimum requirement.
worker name is optional.

Brilliant. Didn't want to be wasting my time going solo when it's not actually registering lol
I believe that you would not be able to connect to the pool if there was an error with your address/user name, so you would know right away if it wasn't working.  You can also monitor your stats via the web (instructions at http://solo.ckpool.org/) and the pool will show you if you're hashing or not.
779  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [50TH] [PPLNS 0.5%] Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) - New Promotion! on: March 09, 2016, 06:00:21 PM
Where does the dashboard get its info for estimating the difficulty after the next adjustment?  As far as I can tell it does not use any of the available metrics on the web, as it's estimate is way way off.

Also, is there a real-time CDF or luck calc for the current round anywhere?  On dashboard I see percent of expected shares, which generally conveys that info, but I was looking if it was shown anywhere else.

Thanks.
780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: cryptoGlance [v2.1] :: Open-source, self-hosted, multi-rig monitoring tool! on: March 09, 2016, 05:57:48 PM
Ok, I knew I saw something in this thread earlier and I found it:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=569924.msg13113378#msg13113378

But I'm definitely too lazy to go through all the steps just to add that "bestShare" column" Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Also, if you could add in the next release a separator for "thousands" in the best share, that'll be great Smiley

e.g.: xxx'xxx'xxx'xxx instead of xxxxxxxxxxxx

I tried the steps in that post to add columns, but it was written before some changes were made by cryptoglance (added highest ever temp.) and the steps in that post no longer produce a working table.  I tried twice and it didn't work either time, has anyone else tried with version 2.2.x?

I would love to see columns user selectable in all the frames, would be cool to be able to customize.
