361  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-13] IBM and Federal Reserve want to create a Bitcoin Knock-Off on: March 15, 2015, 10:40:21 PM
Central banks can create a Globalcoin, but how they wanna deal with currency fluctuations? Will be there exchanges around the world, where it is traded or will be there a global committee setting the exchange rates?

The other global currency before Bitcoin was gold but was abolished, declared illegal or a barbarous relic.

Bretton Woods failed and who the heck uses SRDs?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_drawing_rights

SDR's are only used by countries for now. If we have multicurrency failure the IMF may step in and each of the national currencies may be "backed" by SDR's since they have the lowest current leverage at about 3:1 while other countries like the US are 70-80:1.
362  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Business Model of new company 21 Inc predicted by Satoshi? on: March 15, 2015, 08:54:23 AM
Do you mean instant confirmation? I think you have never heard about greenAddress, it is a web wallet with an instant confirmation (the only rule is that also the other part uses it). Now it can be used for any payment processor.
I used to use green address until after an update it stopped working altogether, another update later and it's back working but slow as to open, it's empty now so i won't be using it again.

Has someone got a quick explanation of how instant transactions work.

An instant transaction wouldn't really be "instant" it was just be "instantly trusted" by those in the network. It could work like this:

A multibillion dollar company establish good rapport in the community and acts as a middle man. Each of us has a "bank account" with them in which we keep some fraction of our bitcoin. This huge/trusted company has 1 well known public address. We walk into a store and use our app that is run by this company, we scan the stores QR code and the bitcoin is sent to the store from that well known public address on our behalf, then the well known company deducts that amount of bitcoin from our "bank account" with them.

The store then sees that the payment came from a well known/regulated/large company and that they "are good for it" meaning that they will not try to create any double spends, thus the transaction is still on the bitcoin blockchain and the transaction is "instantly trusted" by the store, allowing the store to then give the customer the goods with confidence that there will be no double spend and thus no need to wait for confirmations.
363  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make money on this forum on: March 15, 2015, 08:47:03 AM
Don't even waste your time with faucets. Really it comes down to 3 things that you can do.

1. Affiliate program (check out mining retailers)
2. Signature campaign
3. Sell a good or service to the community

Anything else is likely a scam.
364  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What wallets, if any are already out that allow a full untraceable and annon way on: March 15, 2015, 08:44:23 AM
Instead of buying bitcoin you could buy Monero, then use www.xmr.to to anonymously send bitcoin to other addresses.

Or buy bitcoin, send them to an exchange such as poloneix, then purchase monero, anonymously send the monero to www.xmr.to and then have the bitcoin sent from there. Monero is completely anonymous and one of the best ways to do it without being tracked.
365  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Woke up today and lost all my Bitcoins ! on: March 15, 2015, 08:42:11 AM
I firstly transferred 0.04 to an address on Mycelium and found out today that it got transfered to another address after 1 confirm. Secondly someone transferred my Bitcoins from both my wallets on my android phone 2.58187103 gambled them in the past 2 days and lost them all early morning to this address 1EdiKj78wUz6rFSmYQBTx9P165vEW27GiD. Can anyone help ? Thats all my Bitcoin gone in 3 days !

The address you posted: 1EdiKj78wUz6rFSmYQBTx9P165vEW27GiD is not a gambling address. and the account from which they were sent: 1KcWKA81gopM8VAbqunUURPqVR9sDSmjmv is not a gambling address either...

You have to assume that your phone is compromised and can no longer use it for bitcoin storage. Out of curiosity what android OS are you currently running? Is it rooted? and what additional .apk's have you installed? Did you keep any backups of the seed/wallets on other computers or online somewhere?

367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it worth using bitcoin client in tails? on: March 15, 2015, 12:51:21 AM
I was wondering if its worth installing and using the bitcoin core client in a tails environment to prevent any security issues etc.

The tails distro is setup to not remember anything once it is disconnected from the host computer. So each time you would have to redownload the entire bitcoin blockchain all over again which is very inefficient. You could however setup a permanent encrypted drive within tails to store the blockchain. The question then just becomes can you be 100% sure that you can force the core client to ONLY use the tor connection without going around it? If you have the programming know-how to do so then yes you could potentially do that.

I recommend just using the electrum that they have embedded in tails so you know that it wont bypass the TOR  connection and reveal yourself.

371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 14, 2015, 06:10:35 AM
that's why I never gamble with crypto Sad it's more fun go to a cassino anyway.

I wasn't even gambling, I had my monero setup there as an investment in the house funds, which overtime should grow even if it sustains small short term losses. I would create a gambling site myself if it didn't have so many legal implications within the USA

Send me a PM of what work needs to be done and what your pay will be. We can go from there. If we make a deal I will post in this thread.
373  Economy / Services / Re: Are you good at League? on: March 14, 2015, 03:22:23 AM
0.01BTC is less than $3 per rank, if it takes 7 wins in a row to gain a rank that is at minimum of 4.5 hours of work which is basically making 64 cents an hour >.<

The going rate per division boost in bronze (IE bronze 5 to bronze 4) is $25. The going rate per hour of coaching is $20.

If you are willing to pay somewhere around those rates I can do boosting and coaching.

I can coach up to Platinum level skill for ADC and support.
I can coach up to Mid gold skill for top.
I can coach up to mid/high silver for Mid and Jungle.

As far as boosting goes I can boost bronze and silver accounts up to Gold 5 or anything less than that (going rate for silver 1 to gold 5 is $50).

Post or PM me if interested.

Most people will benefit the most from my ADC/Support coaching as it makes you a better player and helps you learn how to get yourself up in ranks. I can do this via skype and duo queueing with you as well as game review via LoL recorder.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 14, 2015, 02:52:10 AM
So I just lost a bunch of monero in the cryptocoins-dice.com website. It was doing well in terms of having a good APR being apart of the house and taking a cut of the houses' edge, but then today the entire website up and vanished. There was at a bare minimum of 50,000 XMR there from investors funds (plus whatever gamblers kept there) that the owner ran off with. He may have been selling them over the past few days before he ran off which could explain the recent selling activity on Poloneix.

We can either expect a dump incoming soon or a price increase soon depending on when he will dump his XMR or if he has already dumped his xmr. That is my speculation anyways.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocoins-Dice.com - Looks like another crypto rip off scam. on: March 14, 2015, 02:38:50 AM
Extra information. OVH.net states the owner is Klaba Octave, but really the real Klaba Octave owns OVH.com. Thus the creator of cryptocoins-dice.com likely also owns OVH.net and is impersonating it to be a apart of OVH.com. If we could find out who allowed ovh.net to be a registrar we might be able to get his true identity.

Cryptocoins-dice.com (investing, not gambling). The admin is legit, I have his phone number and I'll get his ID, we talked a lot and will physically meet (as well as a lot of other Bitcoiners to testify) on the 30th of March. Estimated APR (based on statistics for just-dice): 50% Sure, as long as multisig is not implemented in Monero, there are risks. Not that other assets like GAWminers are better.

So shitty. I can't believe this just happened. David Latapie has said he has met him in person and trusted him. Maybe David has some extra information.

As far as I know David never met with him.  They were going to meet last weekend or the weekend before but it got postponed.

I saw a post by David where he said he and a few other BTCTalk members have met him. And they were going to have a copy of his ID soon, but hadn't obtained it yet. I'll search for it when I get on my PC again.

380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IBM Rumored to Be Developing Bitcoin Alternative on: March 13, 2015, 02:36:47 AM
Anytime these companies/countries want to incorporate/create their own cryptocurrency with a P2P ledger etc into their own system they forget that they are getting rid of the whole decentralized aspect and they could essentially do the same stuff with their own personal databases and/or clearing houses which would not be an improvement on the current system. It also keeps them open to hackers gaining access over their centralized system and destroying it or altering data to the point that they no longer know where their currency went (IE Gawminers cloud hashing supposedly was hacked and they internally no longer knew who actually owned what amount of hashing power) thus you have to choose to either let the hackers win and lose money or destroy the entire system and start over.

Let them try, let them fail, and then they will appreciate bitcoin even more.
