Please help I can't restore my wallet from the keys (32bit) after downloading block chain from firstpage onto new 64bit pc,
I done it before without issue, but now I getting this error.

I'm able to create and sync new wallets, but can't restore mine.

Any ideas please? could it be due to blockchain download from first page.

I would also suggest that your password be longer than 1 character in length. Right now if anyone gets ahold of your wallet file it would take less than 1 second for a computer to have access to all of your coins.

Especially if you don't have full hard drive encryption, anyone can easily grab your wallet files if they have physical access to the machine in less than 5 minutes.

I think we are headed to $175.

Doubtful.

Using my wallet I only see a "tx" which I assume is a transaction id and I have a "global index". But I don't see a transaction hash or block height or any other info. When I go to try to see the details of it on a blockchain explorer nothing comes up

I'm using this block explorer: http://chainradar.com/xmr/blocks?

If I want to lookup any details (IE what block height was my tx in) how do I do that with the info the monero wallet gives me?

I can confirm that upping my virtual memory file to 6 GB from 4GB greatly improved my shitty laptop's performance while running bitmonerod.

Fuck im not sure if i should go all in now or not.

Please help

Did you buy high and sell low?

If you can hold your coins for at least 1 year, then it's always a good time to buy  Roll Eyes

My average buy in price is around 215$

I just want to have more btc before the bull run.

Did you buy high and sell low or why still here as a hero? Tongue

I pretty much only buy. Rarely will I use my BTC to purchase something without replenishing those coins. Are you saying that hero members should no longer be on the forums? Or that rich people shouldn't need to follow bitcoin prices? Or something entirely different?

Either way I have a very large stake in Bitcoin's success and it is currently my #1 or #2 hobby (depending on whether or not I'm vacationing away from home)

+1

To all the heroes and the hodlers.

Has the great shakeout of 2014 come to an end?

Weak hands go away, the strong hands are here to play.

The Great Shakeout of 2014 may indeed be coming to an end. Only time will tell Smiley

Tacotime, smooth or whoever is in charge of running the monero.cc website. Would you like me to help making it look a little more aesthetically appealing? I can't develop wallet code or anything, but I can make some website improvements.

I'd like to help out, so send me a PM and lets get this going Cheesy

lyth0s, you should check out the game Crypto Kingdom: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=819073.0

Currently it is the only thing you can spend XMR on directly. Right now the game is only playable on BCT thread via Google spreadsheet database, but it should be playable online in the next few weeks according to schedule.

I have actually looked into it. Unfortunately I don't play paper fantasy games. If it is ever developed into an HTML5 web browser game or a stand alone app, then count me in!

XMR/BTC ratio is dropping yes, but the USD/XMR ratio is rather constant at $0.73/XMR. Once BTC gets a huge rally and people "feel" wealthy again they will start pouring their BTC into XMR/LTC/XCP and maybe some DOGE, so be ready for that pump.

Once XMR gets a GUI wallet and functioning DB (the memory usage is just too high right now for cheap PC's) that'll help the XMR/BTC ratio a lot. What will help XMR hugely is when people start encountering privacy issues from big brother with BTC, then we can expect a MUCH higher XMR/BTC ratio.

With the privacy advantages of XMR, I expect XMR to take quite a large market share from BTC when people need to hide their digital assets or when countries (IE china) try to stop flight of capital.

With the decrease in XMR/BTC ratio today, I'm actually going to move some more of my btc (that I just made off margin long on BTC) into some more XMR and XCP.

I'm not expecting handouts, but I do admire the XMR Love:

aahhhhh freefall !!!!!   Angry Angry Angry

For the time being there is good support at $450. I'm not saying we can't dip below that, but at least a lot of fiat comes in at $450 currently

So on a related note (in that counterparty uses the bitcoin network), counterparty (XCP) converted all of Etherums code into its counterparty platform so now the entire smart asset system can work on the bitcoin protocol. Very bullish considering etherum was probably going nowhere. I also JUST so happened to buy some XCP (and XMR) a few days ago, its very nice that my XCP DOUBLED its USD value overnight Cheesy

This has been a very good few days for cryptos for me.

Yeah whatever happened to the Ethereum guys? They raised all that cash and what, bought new office furniture and embezzled the rest? All the while their software was open source and Counterparty was like OH HAI.

Good day for XCP. Big gains today.

They sold like $600,000 of bitcoin from the IPO every other day for a week. Then went quiet for a few months. Then sold another large sum of coins.

I'm sure they bought houses, cars, hookers and blow. I doubt they plan on working on Etherum anymore, BUT at least they did provide something for counterparty to work with Cheesy

Offer is still available. Get your miners and get some bitcoin before it rockets to the moon again Cheesy
