1281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: GAWMiner Hashlet Discussion Thread on: September 12, 2014, 07:24:58 AM
please someone tell me like i am 10 years old how on earth do the different pools have such diffent payouts. I thought all pools would want to go for the most profit mining so why are some like 30% less than competitor pools. Im not trying to be a ass it is a honest legit question and i appreciate the honest answers i get thanks

If we are talking about multipools, determining what's most profitable and taking advantage of it requires knowledge and skill and fast connections and servers and timing and luck. So the pool that finds a low difficulty profitable coin and switches to it quicker, then has enough hashrate to find blocks before difficulty skyrockets but not too much hashrate to crush it, then dumps it for BTC at a good rate, will be more profitable. Usually it's not likely for a pool to consistently outperform all others by a large margin because there is no magic to it and somebody else eventually will figure out whatever technological advantage there might be.

If we a are talking about single coin pools then it's mostly just luck.

NiceHash is neither of those, it's a rental service so whatever the renters are mining and willing to pay for it might not necessarily follow the above.

ZenPool - nobody knows what that is.

And all that counts is if we > 100% ROI really. They can work whatever magic they like as long as our investments pay off IMO.

Hi, I wanted to try the "WELCOMETOGAW" 10$ discount but it seems it doesn't work.. is it a discount code or how does it work ? I have to order and then they give the 10$ back ?

Gaw has currently disabled all official coupons for their hashlets. If you still want a discount you can make the purchase through my link in the OP or my sig and I can get you 1.5% of your BTC Back.

1285  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do you have bitcoins and what is your strategy? on: September 11, 2014, 06:08:18 AM
My strategy?

IN BEFORE FIAT CRASH Tongue - Buy + Hold -> Elevate socioeconomic status -> Bi-winning.
1286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Hashlet ROI Tracking on: September 11, 2014, 06:03:40 AM
I got in early too, but was considering making another large purchase, but wanted to look at some data first.  Just curious if someone had down that analysis already or not

Added this to the OP

Estimated Zen Solo Hashlet ROI time in days:

So currently the Zen Solo's cost 20.85 aka 0.0438 BTC for 1 MH/s. Each MH/s makes 0.00063617 BTC per day. Now if the zenpool payout per day stayed constant the machine would reach 100% ROI in 69 days. However, with difficulty increases of each coin and usually decreasing cost of altcoins the payout per day should be decreasing pretty quickly. HOWEVER, zenpool payouts on 8/21/14 were 0.00065055 BTC/MH/day and now its only declined to  0.00063617 BTC/Mh/day which is only a 2.3% decline over almost a full month! This intentionally does not account for the $0.08 fee per MH, which could increase in BTC amount if price goes up, or could become nearly no BTC fee if BTC price goes up as many people are projecting.

Lets extrapolate 2.3% decline in BTC for for the 69 day projected ROI and we get an estimated ROI time of 72 days (compounding decline).

Zen Primes will need to have some cool features added to them before I believe that this will be a clearly profitable hashlet to go with. The biggest thing they could add to these right now would be the ability to mine different algorithms as scrypt already has a LOT of competition and thus lower prices. With that being said, I also expect them to increase the price of the hashlet primes along if/when they ever add the other algorithms to them, because at that point they profitability will most likely increase quite nicely

Updates 9/10/14

Rookie41: Bitcoins sent 9/10/14

shakazul: I apologize for the mix up, I now see your order. Please send me the address you'd like your BTC sent to Cheesy

SGOG: I currently cannot see your order. GAW has told me that they hold orders that are above the $X,XXX range for a little while until they verify it, so contact me again tomorrow so that I can recheck if it went through or not.

brettbarth: Sent you a PM.

Others: Still going through my PM's please hold

Out of curiosity...If you have a new bitcointalk forum account could you please share with the community

1) What made you recently get into bitcoins?
2) How did you hear about GAW Miners?
3) How did you find my thread?

1) A friend from work told me he had some bitcoins and when I got home I googled Bitcoin and found out about altcoins and stuff. This was about a week and a half ago.
2) From this forum. I initially was doing altcoin mining on my GPU for a few hours while I was reading these forums over the weekend. At that stage I wanted to get an ASIC miner like the Rockminer R-Box cause I wasn't prepared to pay a lot of money to get into this "Bitcoin" thing. Noticed GAW Miners being discussed and checked out their site/hashtalk.
3) By using the search function on this forum, after I saw the Hashlet on the GAW Miners site I came and "researched" it here on Bitcointalk. Found your post and have had it on my watchlist ever since.
I failed to use your link on my small purchase, but I remembered on my investment buy Smiley
Used it again last night, but it was a tiny purchase, not worth the time to get a "cashback" Smiley

I got your PM and sent you the Bitcoins for your transaction though my link, and an extra mBTC for your response. Pleasure doing business with you!

Yan7187 thank you for your response, if you'd like an extra mBTC just post or PM the address you'd like it to go to Smiley
1289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: GAWMiner Hashlet Discussion Thread on: September 10, 2014, 05:20:10 AM
Honestly though the best way to go is with a Zencloud hashlet IMO. I have a very funny feeling their BTC/MH/Day will always be higher than the other pools and will have much quick ROI times, even if scrypt mining takes a real hit due to all the new power.
1290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Miner Discounts - Including Hashlet Prime and Hashlet Solo on: September 10, 2014, 05:12:22 AM
Yan7181 Nice doing business with you again, bitcoins sent Smiley

Answer all 3 of my above question and post your bitcoin address and I'll send you a small amount of free coins Smiley

Note: This is for people that have purchased though me, maybe a few extra people...but as soon as I see this being abused I won't give free bitcoins for answering my question.

Updates:

Sonxhous: I sent your bitcoins

brettbarth: I don't see your company purchase and your personal purchase Gaw rejected due to fraud.

Rookie41: I need your total purchase amount please.

shakazul: I don't see your purchases at all. You either didn't use my link, you clicked on someone else's link, your cart already had the items prior to the purchase, or you really didn't make a purchase at all (0 posts, 0 activity new user).

1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal’s Braintree Embraces Bitcoin, One-Touch Payments on: September 09, 2014, 06:21:51 AM
Braintree is a subsidiary of PayPal. It doesn't mean PayPal completely embrace BTC. There are many factors to be considered, such as state regulation, security etc.

Well this is true for any money transmitter, and considering the size of the paypal network I have a good feeling that they will know how to comply with all applicable laws (and if they don't already, they can sure afford the lawyers to figure it all out).

Hopefully paypal will allow people to accept bitcoin and add bitcoin as an alternative currency in their account (much like international seller accounts) with an option to turn that bitcoin into whatever currency they like for a fee. That way in the beginning people can accept bitcoin and turn it into fiat if they wish. Then little by little as they deal more and more in bitcoin they will just keep the bitcoin balances in their account so that they can bypass the fiat exchange fee.
1293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallet do you use for your Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2014, 06:04:10 AM
Guys I'd suggest staying away from keeping all of your coins on coinbase or on exchange websites unless you want to run the risk of being goxx'ed at some point. The safest way is to have them on your PC with either an electrum seed or armory seed so that in the case of your PC crashing you can still recover all of your coins with your written down seed. Get some good antivirus software, don't visit cr4zy w3bw4rz websites and keep your coins in YOUR possession.
1294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin repeat what Silver did?? (Chart) on: September 09, 2014, 04:51:32 AM
There is a big difference in a fundamental. What stores online accept silver as a form of payment? Vs what stores online take Bitcoin as a form of payment? Silver may be a store of value, but will most likely never be used as a currency again unless we lose all technology.
1295  Economy / Economics / Re: Obama's Former Chief Economist Calls For An End To US Dollar Reserve Status on: September 09, 2014, 03:54:27 AM
"To get the American economy on track, the government needs to drop its commitment to maintaining the dollar’s reserve-currency status"

"Note that as long as the dollar is the reserve currency, America’s trade deficit can worsen even when we’re not directly in on the trade"

To be honest, as we decline as the world reserve currency that will actually lead to further devaluation of the USD. We depend on other countries needing to buy up USD in order to conduct their business (IE Oil trade). Without them needing to conduct business in USD there will be no one left to soak up all of the USD that are being printed. This is why BRICS is such a threat to the USA. All of those USD for sell back to america will create crazy inflation and we will be in big trouble.

1297  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Scrypt miner is now worthless, any gamer want to buy? on: September 09, 2014, 03:44:02 AM
I am not interested in the gpu's, but I am in the RAM, if you want to sell I am interested in 4GB and 8GB sticks. Let me know if you are selling.

I appreciate your interest, but I believe that at this point I hope to find somebody a great deal in fully working condition.
If I ever do give up and decide to part out everything, I will let you know.

Hmm if u plan selling whole rigs you should post detailed specs of the rigs. ;-)

I paid a person with the appropriate knowledge to build these for me. I'm semi-retarded in my tech skills.
$3K total about 6 months ago. I think I will just throw these in the dumpster and not have to think about it again.

If the 270 is good working order (there are no screen flickering during gaming and no fan problems) I will at least pay you $30 + shipping before you throw it away.

1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: GAW Miner Discounts - Including Hashlet Prime and Hashlet Solo on: September 09, 2014, 03:27:25 AM
Hey lyth0s,

a few questions for you:

- am I eligible for BTC cachback if I buy the miners thru your link but with CreditCard ? (I don't have enough BTC yet to buy stuff)
- does it matter if I already have an account with GAWminers and have bought hashlets previously(with CC)?

I had just purchased my previous order when I remembered this thread Sad
Looking at buying either a Hashlet Prime and/or a Zen Hashlet in the next few days Smiley

Cheers.

1) You can still get BTC back if you pay with a credit card.
2) As long as you use my link an no one elses and you have an empty cart prior to your purchase, you should still get credit.
3) I cannot give BTC back for purchases that you made without my link (I have no access to those)
4) Having an account already does not exclude you from getting BTC back Smiley

Let me know if you have any other questions!

How much for shipping to NC, and with the PSU?

BTC0.5 shipped to NC. Extra BTC0.06 for the PSU (which is a steal for just $30).
