3701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash: Similarities and Differences on: September 14, 2019, 01:48:21 PM
Well, I know that they all have their own purpose, but I have never really seen much effect of those other two on the community, if they have similarities, then there are some burdens that ought to have been lifted on bitcoin payment processor and maybe we would have been having a fast confirmation, but because bitcoin is still the most reliable coin, it created avenue for lots of congestion on the network, so tell me exactly what has been the purpose of those fork.

I am not interested much in their history, but interested in how far they have gone and how much they have really contributed to the world of cryptocurrency generally. Majority of these coins are just lying there building on hypes, but the real use case itself it’s not being felt, until their real use case is being felt before we can conclude that it serves some purpose.
3702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Last 3 Months of 2019! What is your prediction about the Market? on: September 14, 2019, 11:07:51 AM
It is hard to predict. They said the pattern of bitcoin  now is the same as the pattern last 2017. But I doubt it, though it is possible but looking at the market's down at the moment. I think this bear market is like the bear last year. But of course, I am very much optimistic that the last three months will be the doomed for crypto coins.
NO, I usually don’t believe all those stuff about bitcoin following pattern, is it the same pattern that it has been following since the inception too. Bitcoin growth all depends on the level of adoption, and adoption rate differ every years, the number of adopter in 2017 might be lower or higher than the adaptors this year or the coming year.

Secondly, it depends on the financial status of the adopters, in 2017, I know that the walls street entered the market and manipulated t with big money which I believe they still have part of it, so even if they will out money in the market, it may not be as much as they put that year, same as individual also, and it could be vice versa, so we can continue to hope on bull run based on the event of 2017.
3703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No project built on a open platform should have a WP longer than 3 pages. on: September 14, 2019, 09:01:40 AM
I agree with you OP, when it comes to public funding like this, it is different from a very private funding where the person would like to see the full details of what is involved like feasibility study, and even in feasibility studies, the person should be able to forecast what the company would generate in future, but in the case of ICO, they can't even do that, so there is no point writing a full book when they know that people would not read, that is part of the scam we are saying.

If one is to research on a project before investing, every point that would be researched on comes from the whitepaper, so how many whitepapers would one have to read before getting a valid project, that is why you see people just invest randomly which is not the proper way, summary would be great, but has to be vital points.
3704  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is KuCoin Becoming the Best Exchange for Trading? on: September 14, 2019, 08:07:48 AM
I still don't see Kucoin beating Binance, it's a good exchange but it has to be consistent and keep its good trading volume.
The last time I check, it's trading volume was over $500 million in 24 hours, but now it's back to over $100 million per https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/kucoin/

Binance is more stable, it's very consistent trading sometimes at over $1 billion a day but it never fail and drop to below $500 million.
I was happen seeing some improvement of Kucoin but it's not good enough for me to convince it will become the best exchange and will beat Binance.
Mate, anything could happen, I have seen things turn around, I have heard the stories of the rich becoming poor, and I have seen the poor becoming rich, it all depends on who the table turned to favor. Binance started just like kucoin too, and they were doing their best until luck decided to shine on them, and who would have ever believed that they will end up becoming the best exchange.

I remember that when they conducted their ICO then, I failed to buy their cheap price because I never saw any future that much In them, but look at where they are now, they are the world’s best exchange, so kucoin can also be the world’s best exchange if they try, they could just come up with an idea that will supersede everything that Binance has created so far.
3705  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Exchange Alternatives - What Are The Best Ones Out There? on: September 14, 2019, 07:35:25 AM
I am not in accordance with your list because what you have listed on that page are exchanges with flaw, the two popular ones that I found there are Coinbase and Polenix, for Coinbase, I didn’t think I have any issue with them, US traders that are using it more are the one  that can really give review in how the exchange has been performing, but you see Polenix, I would not recommend them because ever since they came back the second time, after Bittrex and binance pushed them away, it has been one complain or the other from some of their users, of which I know some of them personally, so I would really not go with Polenix.

I am not even seen binance, kucoin and some other ones on your list, these are the exchanges that I expected that you should have listed first.
3706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive $1 Billion Bitcoin Whale Transaction Makes Waves on: September 13, 2019, 07:38:30 PM
This happens quite often, just you do not always pay attention to it. It doesn't matter

I mean people get bordered about what they shouldn't. The high time we understood that price moves as demand go the better. I know btc is valuable, so for me it is a hodl till I get in profit and if I want to sell, I do so by my choice.
The thing they don’t understand is that bitcoin market is for everyone, and a place where people deposit their money, to make use of it for a purpose and not everyone we have will keep their money tied down for ever, at one point, they will surely have a need for it.

People who complain of others pulling out their money are just selfish, they want another person to keep money for their own to grow, and the moment they get that opportunity, they will never wait for the other person’s own to grow but remove it immediately. People are more concerned about the investment in bitcoin than they are concerned about the currency usage of it and I think if we can get a very high adoption of currency users, then bitcoin will decrease less.
3707  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How does localbitcoins work? on: September 13, 2019, 07:11:29 PM
So Mr seller sells btc to Miss Buyer. Seller has btc loaded into his account via his wallet address. Trade Request by Miss Buyer locks the amount of sellers btc. This is the part i'm curious about. Once the trade is complete what is the route of the bitcoins do they go directly from Seller to Buyer or does localbitcoins take the coins to a 3rd party account and they give send to the buyer?
The operation of local bitcoin is more like a local exchange if I may be right, I have never really used local bitcoin before, but I believe that they all operate same way. I have been using luno as my local exchange, and what I do is to transfer bitcoin to the wallet address that is being given to me, then, I send a withdrawal notice using the application form, notifying them of the amount of money I wish to sell, there would have been pending buyers already who would buy it and then if the price is ok, I get my order executed immediately.

I think those one that gets executed immediately is being bought by the local exchange directly because they would make their gain from it, well that is for my own local exchange, I don't know if they have similar operational way.
3708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fake trade volumes on: September 13, 2019, 06:48:55 PM
It really happens in some exchange big or small. They manipulate it so people would buy that coin or token, the project might also have a responsibility on that to gain more profits. There are also group of people who manipulate the market by buying and dumping the coin/s and nowadays it seems normal.
I do not even want to believe that any big exchange that already has a very high genuine volume would have any reason to fake volume again, because with high volume, traders are able to execute their orders immediately and they would have no reason to leave the exchange, which they will keep getting referral that will enable them have more and more increase volume.

Like he said, mist fake volumes are actually as a result of low patronage, because many of us are fund of always giving thumbs up to those exchanges that are already big, neglecting the new ones and forgetting that they need that to grow, so I would not easily condemn them for their action, but I will frown at those who are already old and still using fake volume.
3709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An indisputable proof that bitcoin is fake money on: September 13, 2019, 06:23:31 PM
Incorrect terms -

instead of $ = real money and BTC = fake money,

it should be $ = old money and BTC = new money.
That is right, I think that dollar reign is beginning to come to an end because to me it has even caused more damage to the world, and it has been used as means of corruption more than we think it is, it was the lapses in the dollar system that made satoshi think of coming up with a technology that would correct some of the mess that has been created by dollar overtime.

One of the benefit of bitcoin as money is that it has limited supply, and that is how money should behave in a normal circumstance, unlike USD that is into limited and can even be printed by any drug lord, so what is the real thing about that. Since fiat has been in existence, it has been one problem or the other in the world, so it is time we try a new system of cryptocurrency which will serve as global currency.
3710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Based - 0$ fees international money transfers wallet on: September 13, 2019, 05:03:04 PM
I would not trust this system then because if you tell me it is zero fee, then where do we expect you to get money that would help you to maintain your site from, a project without financial solid background will only end up collapsing and offering very low quality product to the public.

There is no arm in trying your services out anyway, then what is the assurance that if I ask you to send money on my behalf, you will really deliver, is there any escrow service backing this up, I am sorry for bugging you mate, but you know how shits has been happening in the cryptocurrency market because of scammers, and everyone will be careful now because gone are the day where we just take and act on any information that we get without thoroughly investigating and analyzing it.
3711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Changing the rules in the End of the Bounty Campaign is a form of Abuse on: September 13, 2019, 12:59:51 PM
Unfortunately, this often happens, and it usually always depends not from the bounty manager, but from the company that doing the bounty, because specifically in each bounty the rules are written that at any time the company that doing the bounty can change the rules and reduce the bounty pool, and with this of course, it’s very difficult to do something, but there is always a way out in such situations, namely, all bounty hunters need to get together and fight with the team of such companies.
How would they do that when you know that everything we do is over the internet and to get people coordinated over the internet is something that is very bad, and the only way that I feel we can just stop all these abuse by these team and developers is to stop participating in some of those projects that cannot attest to the credibility of the developer or the project team, because many credible developer or project team would never cheat or do all those sort of rubbish at the end of the campaign.

Most of those projects that do that are either scam projects or they end up being a bad project because if they cannot manage ordinary bounty campaign, how can they manage the whole project? So, I am not sure we can fight them but we can at least make little impression.
3712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bonuses are only to deceive people on: September 13, 2019, 12:44:14 PM
Big bonuses are the reason why most project dump and fail, and then they blame it on hunters, now that we have IEo that does not involve hunters, we can still see that the same thing is what is happening here, nothing has still changed as hunters are still dumping their coins too, and I guess the parties involved never care anyway, because like you said, it is just a scam, they only use that bonus to attract them and that is all, people that will suffer it more in the future are future investors, they are the ones that will be using their money to keep paying these investors and even these developers profit.

Luckily for me, aside the money that is involved in all these initial offering, I have never picked much interest again in joining it, I will rather wait till the project is fully operational.
3713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Brandt: 99% of Altcoins Will Be Forgotten in Five Years on: September 13, 2019, 11:15:52 AM
as in ordinary business, many campaigns close and new ones replace them. this is a common situation and each of us must be prepared for such events and be very adaptable
So projects are indirectly just using the industry as a money making machine to generate money and then go away, and what assurance do we even have that those project that has failed are not still the ones that are coming back again to raise money the second time.

If we needed to control these things, old project are the ones we are meant to even pay attention to so that any old dead project would not think of coming the second time through another name to generate fund all over gain which I think that it is the highest form of scam I would ever see. Most of these altcoins are just having repetition of products and that is why they are failing, no wonder Barndt said they would not extend more that the time they have spent now.
3714  Economy / Economics / Re: 🔵 Facebook Agrees to Pay $5 BILLION, BUT will they ever stop?? on: September 13, 2019, 08:53:59 AM
I was having this discussion earlier, which brings to mind risk aversion. Facebook has been fairly successful from a financial standpoint, because it is willing to take the risks - and pay for them, in view of a much bigger reward. So to them, the risk to reward ratio is at an optimal level. If they continue making money, they will be at a sweet spot for a self-enclosed crypto economy. That's why regulators are targeting them, that's why the crypto-community is taking turns bashing and praising them.

Hm, Facebook managed to effectively instill fears in representatives of the political and economic establishment, especially the USA. Now, they believe that this massive digital asset cannot be controlled by the US Federal Reserve and can affect the US dollar. In addition, it can become a tool to circumvent any restrictions that are imposed on operations for a number of subjects of the global economy.
The reason more they would have thought of working with him than attacking him, the worst would before them to go against him completely because all he would just need to do is change the Libra name to another and anonymously operate it, he has all the money to fund it and run campaigns, he would not even need to pay for campaign because the platform they will be using is his.

The way that I am seeing the Libra coins, I am not sure I=he is creating it to really deal with the government as people had speculated, I think he is only looking for a way to create a system that will be partially decentralize because of the last accusation that he had with the United states government as regards selling people's data and know that the aspect where blockchain functions most is the area of data management.
3715  Economy / Economics / Re: Trade war Influences on cryptocurrency on: September 12, 2019, 08:24:21 PM
I think if we look at how many new companies go into crypto we can estimate how much money is going into bitcoin because of this. For example just recently there was a new ETF that was for limited investors and only 50k dollars was invested, so we know that was for nothing, if it turns out that trade war was not affecting bitcoin neither I wouldn't be shocked.

Look at the price, it hasn't moved in the past 3-4 months easily (it has gone up and down but nothing major) which means this trade war hasn't affected bitcoin in the slightest, maybe there is some small ones but it is not big enough to make a difference so I doubt there is any influences. If there was an actual spoken big war then maybe there would be a huge impact but for now this doesn't change anything.
3716  Economy / Economics / Re: Average savings across the globe on: September 12, 2019, 05:38:02 PM
Inflation is one thing what makes prices going high!
Yea USA will be great Place to live, im sure I would love to live in Miami or new York, if new York then I would like to work at wall street... Lol

But inflation makes First the Property price go high
I guess we have another whale or do we call them market makers in the making lol. This issue of inflation is really becoming very terrible in United states and I didn’t know what the government of united states is doing about this, they had better control it before you see the rich tuning to a poor person because really, I agree with sana, how can someone be earning that much, only to be able to have a take home of Such amount of money at the end of the year, and it in directly means that they are just working for their country.

I am not sure that if they ever offer me to live in the united States, I will ever take it, except maybe I’m going there as an expatriate, then I know that all my expenses will be paid in full and I would have nothing to worry about those their expensive accommodation.
3717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto hodling as a form of gambling! on: September 12, 2019, 04:08:39 PM
It seems the community has differing views about this topic and I'm glad you guys shared different insights about it. In this sense, I think

I'm going to tabulate all the responses five days from now and quantify the data on those who agree or disagree with this idea so that we

may have a better picture on the community's overall responses.
I TOO ENJOYED READING THE DIFFERENT VIEWS SHARED ON IT and it looked to me like a great number of members are in support of crypto holding as a form of gambling but I will be waiting to see your compilation on this but for now I am also of the opinion that crypto holding is nothing different from gambling.

If you have your cryptocurrency, its better to trade or do better things with it than to hold since its uncertain what happens next if it appreciates or depreciates and to avoid all this, it is best to withdraw and trade or even gamble with it because at the end of the day, gambling even pays more. There is a great chance of winning especially if you play a skill based game.
3718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: China Urges Philippines to Ban All Online Gambling! on: September 12, 2019, 08:11:22 AM
The issue is just the POGO and its all settled POGO stays just as always during the previous admins.

I don't understand why this news has created buzz when it's obvious that the government will never stop regulating this operation and the China has no control on the Philippines to stop this.

Philippines needs to improve their economy and they can only do that with the increase of tax collection, and this one is an opportunity so there's no sense they will let this stop just to facilitate the request of China. Philippines to be the gambling capital of the world seems to be possible in in the future because the government is very supportive and this is what gambling operators are looking for.
It is creating so much argument because of the way media has presented it. They make it look like the Chinese governments are bullying Philippines not minding or putting their existing relationship into consideration.

It is important for Philippine government to also try to grow their economy, legalizing gambling to avoid too many illegal gambling activities hereby collecting taxes from the gambling operators will not also be  a bad idea. I believe if this was done, china wouldn’t intrude into their activities to ban gambling because they would see that gambling  as a source of blessing rather than how it is being seen now.
3719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Money is Dirty Money on: September 12, 2019, 06:26:18 AM
I completely disagree with this notion that Gambling is dirty money, we gamblers don’t steal money and play with it rather we play using our hard earned savings. Religion beliefs are not always right and people should not follow them blindly, they should use logic and then make an opinion about it.
I don’t think these has anything to do with religious belief but rather morals because ideally we all know that any profit we make is gotten from some else’s loss. I may be gambling and feel there’s nothing bad with it but deep down I understand this aspect.

Some weeks back I won some money on a casino site, I was really happy and on my way home, I met a friend in a public transport. He looked very down and when I asked him what the problem was, he explained to me how he lost so much money on a gambling site, it was even more than what I gained, and apparently, I won mine from his loss, I felt ashamed to even tell him about my win and deep down I felt guilty. Money from gambling is dirty, whether we agree with it or not.
3720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If You Win Big Will You Remember Your Losses on: September 12, 2019, 05:38:59 AM
A few years ago, I lost a lot of money in the dice. I tried to play by Martingale's strategy with a minimum bet and saw good results. But when I increased the initial bet I got 8 times in a row "no". My money was just not enough for the next bet.

After that, I don't gamble very often, but if I do, then before the game, I determine exactly how much I can afford to lose.
I am surprised that someone still uses martingale, I thought it has been mentioned here many times that the strategy is doom or you never knew? So what led you to trying it. Well this is not the time to put blames. I am sorry about your loss and I believe you must have recovered since it’s been years now. ONE more thing, I think that I noticed from your post that you have already prepared to lose a game even before you play it, I think this is a very wrong mentality, and  I hope you work on changing this mentality because its possibly the reason behind your loses  and martingale cannot be blamed so much for this.

Back to the post, I don’t see any reason to remember my loss if I win big, We only remember loses when we keep on losing.
