3781  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block Errupter (Is it worth?) on: January 10, 2014, 02:12:12 PM
Are you looking for profit or bitcoins for the long run.

If you want short term profit ebay is the way to go.

If you want btc for the long run, plug them in and let them hash to a pool. You never know what little you mine will be worth years down the road!

Correct, but USB Block Erupters' production was discontinued because they couldn't keep up. They will end up like GPUs, they won't be able to catch up with the difficulty, unless you have a huge rig like this guy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=405919.new#new

It'd be nice if you gave me one :p

Depending on where you live, block erupters can cost more in power than you make in BTC!

Even if they are free

I know, but i've calculated and that isn't the case where I live lol.
3783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Merchants that accept Bitcoin and settle in USD are driving the price down on: January 10, 2014, 02:09:56 PM
The point is, Bitcoin wasn't designed for merchants to accept payment in BTC and then convert into USD to pay for employees. It is designed to completely replace the whole monetary system, and unless that happens, nothing will work.
3784  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Scrypt hashing power, paying 120% of LTC profitability on: January 10, 2014, 02:08:13 PM
I know that, but just so you know, i have a crappy GPU, and it eventually sets me to 16, but sometimes it just fails and sets me to 256 and i barely get any shares.

256 is the initial difficulty after I restart the pool application (happens couple times a day). You should get to your destination difficulty within 10-15 minutes after reconnecting.

But you don't need to worry, as 256-difficulty share is worth 16x more than 16-difficutly share. So you earn the same from 1x 256-difficulty share and from 16x 16-difficulty shares. In the end, you always earns the same for your hashpower. You don't lose anything because of this.

Oh alright. By the way, can you give us a list of the altcoins you switch to?
3785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Merchants that accept Bitcoin and settle in USD are driving the price down on: January 10, 2014, 09:47:13 AM
The whole problem is that the governments are panicking about bitcoin, and they are labelling it as a "High Risk Investment Product", while it's actually a new type of currency that can substitute the current ones. That is why many don't accept Bitcoin, since its price can fluctuate a lot.
3786  Economy / Services / Re: French, Italian, Russian, English translation service on: January 10, 2014, 09:44:14 AM
Cool, i'll add more services to you, I am willing to do Spanish to English and viceversa, and only Traditional Chinese to English/Spanish.
xD Add me to your team!

LOL any proof that this isn't a scam? If you can actually prove it I might invest... At least a picture of your rig!

Or does the user simply get like 5% from what his referral pays for an upgrade?

Hmmmm So you have 9 posts and you are already trying to make people rent your stuff? What's your guarantee that this isn't a scam?
3790  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BlockChain.info telling me that I have exceeded number of SMS verifications on: January 10, 2014, 09:38:21 AM
You should definitely change 2FA to Google Authenticator, as it's a lot simpler and easier.
Anyway, although blockchain.info is probably the most secure online wallet, I would recommend you to put your coins into something like Electrum or Multibit.

For everyone wanting to join: sorry, this beta is closed now. I am just a day or two before finishing this software and I don't want to add new users at this moment. Please be patient and I welcome you very much as soon as the pool launches. I'll let you know!

I would like to say, this pool is quite good. By the way, I would like too add an option for us to set the difficulty.

I don't think that there's a need for such a feature since the pool supports vardiff. It means that it adjusts difficulty based on your hashing power and tries to setup difficulty for each miner so that it submits on average four shares per minute (in the range of 16-512).

I know that, but just so you know, i have a crappy GPU, and it eventually sets me to 16, but sometimes it just fails and sets me to 256 and i barely get any shares.

This is just creepy, i wonder if the devs know about it.
3795  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is it possible to put everyone in a single large mining pool? on: January 09, 2014, 03:54:25 PM
The whole point of bitcoin is to be a decentralized currency, and now you are suggesting to centralize it?
3796  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block Errupter (Is it worth?) on: January 09, 2014, 03:51:37 PM
If you don't want them and you aren't bothered to sell them, i accept them for free xD

This is simply awesome, with only 80 khash/s I have already earned about 0.0002, and that wasn't even mining all day.
3800  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Scrypt hashing power, paying 120% of LTC profitability on: January 06, 2014, 04:42:54 AM
lol I have about 80 kh/s of scrypt, can I still try this?
