If you are willing to spend a lot of money, then attack a strip of silver or gold, they actually conduct heat the best. If not, use a piece of copper or aluminium. Be careful though, silver and gold are also very electrically conductive. |

just got electrum, but could You explain why is it safer? It uses other networks, which might be compromised, can they? It can be stored offline. So, It is secure, Oh and it doesn't download the blockchain. Not downloading the blockchain is like the biggest feature, +it doesn't have to be online. there are tricks for speeding up the blockchain syncing using bittorent and a dump of the blockchain: look up blockchain bootstrapping. Lots of tutorials available. Still, some people are not happy to have 16GB+ data on their HD. And for some people, downloading 16 GB takes loving ages. Yup. And not just a day or two, but like half a month or more. Crappy internet speed. So I use Electrum. |

What about alt coin mining if your normal PC is a gaming pc? I'm on a MSI GT70 with VGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 675MX. Waste of time and security risk (I use this pc to access servers I manage and client websites) or worth a shot? Any thoughts?

Could I just use thermal paste and attach another heat-sink directly to the back of the current metal heat-sink directly. Could I in essence attach a long ie 15cm piece of metal to increase the surface area to cool down and still use a fan. If so, what metal would i use. I currently use a Ghetto Wind Tunnel made with a USB Desk fan and a Coke bottle with the top and bottom cut off.  Could I ramp this up and make a larger wind tunnel with 30x30cm bits of metal attached to the back of the miner I think it's okay to do so, i don't see any problem with that. |

Any forum activity (including logging in) is counted, messaging isn't independent of that. That means, posting, PMing, Logging in, reporting a post, changing your signature. Don't forget about searching  Yep. And you can only do one of that every 360 seconds. |

It is possible the recipient was using mtgox to receive the funds, and mtgox was having issues again lol. Anyway, if OP checks blockchain.info (or the other sites I posted) and finds the tx confirmed, then it is pretty much the recipient's responsibility to fix problem on his end. Yup. So unless he gave you his address wrong, which is his fault, or you typed it in incorrectly, then he must've recieved the funds, and if not, it's his fault. |

You should cloud mine. You dont have to worry about the hardware. You pay for it and then they run it for you, works great for me. Check my signature for more info  Cloud Mining is terrible. It is unprofitable. |

Just watch out that the hashrate doesnt get to high, see middlecoin, they payouts are getting less with a to high hashrate.

Immersion cooling is expensive and messy. Just install a heatsink!
Im going to buy liquid nitrogen. Its colder, and when my GPU or CPU heats up, I'll just pour in some more. That stuff is expensive and dangerous. You can easily freeze you hand, and if not, break your rig. Some guy demonstrated it on youtube. Its easy. I never said it was difficult. If you leave your hand in the stuff for more than 3 seconds, you're a goner. And it could potentially freeze your rig and render it unusuable, unless you have a safe system of pouring the stuff in. Im pretty sure its safe I am looking for the video right now. Well you can try it, the stuff isn't cheap. Good Luck. And once you used it up you will have to buy more. |
