I take my hat off to you, sir. That video is just awesome.
3042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: April 10, 2014, 03:29:25 PM
We had the worst two days in history of the pool. I checked hundreds of things yesterday trying to find what's wrong but I didn't find anything wrong. It seems it was just variance and bad luck. With high LTC difficulty, lower hashrate than usual and 45% of our hashrate sent to LTC our statistical expectation for yesterday was to find 20 LTC blocks, but we found only 13. It's only 7 blocks less but it had significant impact on results.

The bad luck seems to be over now and we're back to normal. We already got 104% LTC in rolling 24 hours, 108% since midnight, and the last 8 hours were at 135% LTC or 0.00576 on average.

Everyone who sticked with the pool during this worse two days - thank you! Everyone who switched away - you're welcomed to switch back.

Hi Terk,

On the 24h hashrate chart there's a jump from 2014-04-10 6 to 2014-04-10 11.
Where did those 5 hours go to?

It looks fine to me, I see 06, 07, 08, 09, 10 and 11.
3043  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LeaseRig.net Rent & Hire SHA/SCRYPT/DARK/QUARK HashPower! on: April 10, 2014, 03:25:22 PM
Great - now it says speed 0.0

:sigh:

Maybe it's because I'm using bfgminer not cgminer. I set up --api-listen and --api-port 4028 in the bfgminer bat file and changed the proxy startup from 0 to 4028. Reported speed shows constantly as zero.

What is the proxy saying, is it trying to connect to 4028? Is the proxy running on the same machine as bfgminer? Perhaps you need to use --api-allow.

bfgminer won't even start with --api-allow

I get:

WARNING: cgminer API (127.0.0.1:4028) Failed to connect

Try --api-allow W:23.236.58.114

We have now officially fallen through the $400 mark.
PANIC!
I am offering to buy all your bitcoins @$200, before it's too late!
3045  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: bitcoin.org Wallet date? on: April 10, 2014, 01:35:16 PM
Hi,
I have just downloaded and installed a latest version of QT Wallet from bitcoin.org
The date of EXE is June 1, 2013.
I was under impression that there were some latest updates ti fix a security issue.
What is going on here?

The date is irrelevant. Look at the version number, if it's 0.9.1 then you are fine.
The devs probably didn't bother updating the date.

I have a question about the reported hash speeds on LeaseRig.
...
Anyone else noticed anything or has any comments?

It's because you are using LeaseRigProxy.
That thing reports hashrates based on accepted shares. If the pool has a high share difficulty (512, 1024 or so on) your hashrate will be shown much lower than it should be.

Not strictly true, the hashrate from the proxy can be done that way but can also get the actual hashrate from cgminer via api, it's in the readme file.

The default api port is 4028 so if you havent changed it
Code:
leaserigproxy.exe <port> <userid> 4028

Been using the proxy since day 1 and speeds have always been accurate.

So you can use the proxy + the API to fetch the hashrate?
I didn't know that. Thanks lol.

So you have started trying out dividing the hashrate, by sending a cetain percentage to a coin, and other percentages to others, correct?

lol I said ages ago this pool was a complete scam

it still is lol @ 70% LTC profitability for 3 days

lol lol lol what a scam pool

It's not a scam, but Terk, seriously, what is going on with the profitability???

What kind of moronic ATM is that?  Huh  Bitcoin has no fault in its incompetence
It's neither Bitcoin's fault or ATM's fault. This is because of AML/KYC policies that ATM manufacturers need to follow.

And who made these absurd laws?

The US government. They just see Bitcoin as a competitor to the US dollar and want to make the public think that it's a stupid thing.
3050  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LeaseRig.net Rent & Hire SHA/SCRYPT/DARK/QUARK HashPower! on: April 10, 2014, 12:35:15 PM
I have a question about the reported hash speeds on LeaseRig.

I have two rigs that are mostly hired out all the time. The reported speeds they are running at when being hired are NOWHERE NEAR the speed of the rig itself. For example, I'm running at a constant speed of 7.2Mh/s, and on the site its telling me 0.89Mh/s. Sometimes it's higher, perhaps fluctuating between 1 and 5 Mh/s. When it's not being hired, I'm mining at clevermining.com or perhaps multicoin.us and the reported speed is about right at 7.2mh/s. So what's going on?

I'm thinking that perhaps the pools my hirers are choosing aren't so good, and therefore the share rate is down because of it. However this destroys my reputation - because people can see a graph of my rig's reported speed, and if they see it hovering between 1-5Mh/s when I'm saying it's 7.2Mh/s, they are going to go elsewhere. It's not my fault my hirers are choosing bad pools.

I also suspect the reported speed on Leaserig.net is completely different to that shown at a pool for some reason. If my rigs really were mining at only 1Mh/s then people would have complained - but none have yet, so I can only assume all is well. I just wish the hash rate on the site could be a true figure of my rig's performance.

Anyone else noticed anything or has any comments?

It's because you are using LeaseRigProxy.
That thing reports hashrates based on accepted shares. If the pool has a high share difficulty (512, 1024 or so on) your hashrate will be shown much lower than it should be.
If the pool has a high share difficulty (16, 32, etc.) your hashrate will be shown higher than it should be.

The fix to this is:
Don't be lazy, set up "Method B", which is the API.
Instructions here: >>>CLICK HERE<<<

I myself used the proxy since I was lazy, but the hashrate was highly incorrect, so I took some time and setup method B.

At $407 now...
Well, sell if you are scared, but it will simply drop then recover.
Wait, don't sell, or you will make the price plummet even more xD
I sold most of my coins 2 weeks ago at 500 range when the rumor first appeared. I just want to wait till 15th to see how things would go and how deep the price would drop, then buy back.

I just sold half of my coins. Dunno what to do now, will probably hold the others.
3052  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014 on: April 10, 2014, 12:22:58 PM
We are in April 2014 and bitcoin is around $450,so very very very bad prediction!

Prices just fell 10%, we are at $410-$400 now :3

Is AML required if Bitcoin is considered by US Government to be property and not currency?

Yes, because a "property" has a value.
3054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you f...ing kidding me? on: April 10, 2014, 12:13:59 PM
There are swifter less complicated machines than that. Some are instant or as quick as you can print a paper receipt off with your coins on.

Those guys are just retarded. 3 confirmations take from 30 min up to an hour.
They just encountered a stupid error and got pissed off, and now hate bitcoin.
Retards.

To be honest, it's not exactly a straight forward process, especially when all you want to do is get your hands quickly on some Bitcoin, so I can understand their frustration. Somebody needs to take them to one that is as simple as putting money in and getting coins out, but I guess a lot of the mainstream ones in the States wont be able to work like this due to AML laws and shit.

Yeah. And then people complain about why it is so complicated, it's a crappy ATM and such. Look at the comments.
It's not our fault, it's not a scam, it's the government's fault.

Fortunately there is plenty of good news in other countries, and only a limited number of BTC will ever exist.  Smiley
This ban doesn't mean a large amount of BTC is confined inside China. "Strong hands" in China are buying now so they can dump later on international exchanges. That'll be real diaster.

I'll answer that with a quote from BTC-e trollbox live:
"I guess once china is out, America can really control crypto... we become the number 1 player once again.. and with wall street buying in, I really don't see this as a bad thing." (user: SatoshiNakaMario:)

Bye China, you were fun for a while...

How will it go if China is out! It might be back to 100 again!!!

At $407 now...

I'm on the phone with a dev looking into this, it looks like it's affecting you and another new provider.

Great! Thanks

Restart the miner and LRP if you are using it.   Kick it back to support if it doesn't come online.

Looks good! Thanks. http://leaserig.net/index.jsp?page=hire&rigid=36

Out of interest, what card are you using for this rig?
3058  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LeaseRig.net Rent & Hire SHA/SCRYPT/DARK/QUARK HashPower! on: April 10, 2014, 01:12:22 AM
I supposed I'm going to be slandered when I add my 23 gridseeds at .005 per day with a 10% rehire bonus.  Might have to rethink that plan.

This is concrete evidence that Scrypt-ASICs will soon force GPU miners over to Scrypt-N, X11, or some other ASIC-resistant algorithm. Imagine how low miaviator could price his ASIC rigs and still cover his power cost.

I advise against imagining how low I COULD price my GPU or ASIC rigs and still profit.  I've never been a big player in the short term leasing space though and things are quite a bit different here than doing 30-60-90 day contracts.  If only I had time or a datacenter provider portal Smiley

Oddly we are getting very few feature requests from providers and customers.  (waits for the support/dev backlash)

Ideas have been thrown around for a lot of things but mostly internal.

Fine. I'll throw you some suggestions.
-Providers can set their own passwords
-On-site rig feedback and rating
-On-site refunds
3059  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY][CH] Gridseed 5-Chip USB Miner & Blades coming (PIC) on: April 10, 2014, 12:48:51 AM
So is the minimum still 10 units?
I ask since you have 1 unit listed as "only $160", and then there is a 10-pack...
3060  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LeaseRig.net Rent & Hire SHA/SCRYPT/DARK/QUARK HashPower! on: April 10, 2014, 12:39:33 AM

One question to the developers.

Wouldnt be easier to add rating/feedback system on leasering site instead of using forum threads. It would be more easier to give/view ratings and comments.

Why yes, yes it will.

er, would, be easier Smiley

And one question to us, providers,
Why we are going so much down with the price Cheesy Keep it above 0.006 or 0.0065. People will rent it anyway Tongue

I supposed I'm going to be slandered when I add my 23 gridseeds at .005 per day with a 10% rehire bonus.  Might have to rethink that plan.

LOL. I'm thinking we should all make our prices go up, all miners together.

Hey miaviator, how long does it take for the rig to show on the homepage?

If it's enabled and you can see it hashing on the admin panel, it should be on the homepage.
