381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Facebook Can Be Worth Billions, Why Can't Cryptocurrencies? on: March 28, 2018, 04:10:17 PM
Cryptocurrency market capitalization in total is almost 300 billion dollars coins that are officially listed on CMC while the current stock market cap of Facebook is 440 plus billion USD title is a bit misleading crypto cap is already billions the difference is that Facebook alone has the largest figure for capitalization, cryptocurrency is still young as it needs tons of improvements, upgrades, innovation and useful platforms that rival the traditional, hopefully the future development will have an expanded and competent products or platforms.
382  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Might We "Moon?"/ Bear Market Pain? on: March 28, 2018, 03:41:24 PM
To sell the bitcoin before it was necessary. It's too late to sell coins now. All those who panicked have already sold their coins. Now we are waiting for the price increase. I don't know when it will happen, but I'm sure it will be very soon. The market has already shrunk as a spring and soon the resistance will not be able to restrain it.
Yes that the thing most of the people who sold their bitcoin is the one who FOMO'ed when bitcoin is surging and trending the one who enters around 18K to 20k plus USD they think it is the easiest ride to go to the moon so they expect a lot, unexpected events occurred as the market correction enters added by the people who constantly cashing out because its holiday seasons and the rumors about the MT.Gox trustee selling his pack of coins, it will gonna bounce back soon then some people will repeat the cycle itself.
383  Economy / Economics / Re: About real state of cryptos on: March 28, 2018, 03:32:01 PM
For crypto to be used as a payment the price has to be stable. No one wants to accept $100 of bitcoin as payment in the morning for it to be worth only $90 in the afternoon.
There are some cryptocurrency that possesses some potential to be a form of payment rather than a pit of pump and dump groups basically it is more into microtransactions pros rather than a fluctuating asset like the former cryptocurrencies, some platforms already implemented some features to use bitcoin as a form of payment, salary, utility transactions and more but it is lacking that our traditional fiat currency have and it needs to tend that feature in order to fully benefit.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do we need to diversify? on: March 27, 2018, 03:17:51 AM
Why do we need to diversify our holdings? why we just all in in one coin to have a one time bigtime profit.
If your pretty confident that the coin you are holding have 100% potential to grow given the market condition then do it but is there a coin possess 100% guarantee that it will return a skyrocket profit? probably there's none, there's no coin impose perfect accuracy that it will grow in no time in the future, those who invested and hold bitcoin until now accepted the bigger risk of investing in cryptocurrency, your going to miss tons of coins that constantly pump throughout the time and it was proven for the majority of legit top altcoins, reduce your risk and diversify in order to maximize the return on profit.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Day Trading VS ICOs? on: March 26, 2018, 05:29:22 PM
The possibility of making a lot of money in one day, via day trading, is alluring to most.  However, if you're working a full-time job (or two) how can you spend time watching the market to know when to buy and sell?  I'm in a few other groups and people are often promoting ICOs as the way to go.  They definitely require less monitoring.  What do y'all think?
both of them imposes different risks influenced by the current market condition or the possible potential of the ICO, they both possess some ups and downs, day trading requires a regular monitoring to the markets price flow while on the other hand ICO it takes more time to know the result of the sale.

ICO investment is tricky as well, if the market is bearish more likely the coin you purchased in ico will be trading even below ico price when it gets listed, so not only choosing quality project with competent team is important while investing in an ico but overall market sentiment also has its impact.
This a pain in the head actually mostly if the crowdsale started from the bull market where all the price of the cryptocurrency which is accepted as a payment for an ICO is high then it finishes when the market corrections and crashes are starting sometimes it is better to wait for the actual release of the token the exchanges cause your going to see some tokens more way cheaper than the presale with the addition of bonuses.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: <$500 ETH. What do you do? on: March 26, 2018, 04:00:41 PM
A lot of people were saying that <$600 price range was a safe buy but now that it's $491, what do you think?

I'm considering buying it but judging by how it looks, it might continue falling. So instead I might monitor for the first raise and then buy then.

What do you think? Are you buying and hodling? Selling? Discuss.
Situations for those who got ETH all because of FOMO from the bull period of time last December is a hold or loss condition generally for those people who bought at 1000+ USD that is a 50% plus loss, if your going to sell that is a tough decision as it may go up and you may miss the opportunity but at the same time you may cut the loss the damage is the half of your investment, if your going to think of it ETH is still young as it is still emerging and developing, there would be more features and potential that may be added on the future or some good news that will bring the price pumped as high. holding impose some risk but the future rewards are more promising than cutting your loss by selling.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What happen with ETH Price ? on: March 26, 2018, 03:38:46 PM
it's awful situation with eth and cryptocurrency market. Reducing x4 for eth it's incredible for only 3 months
For cryptocurrency occurrences it is normal to have fluctuating dumps and common bear markets due to some major factors that we already know about it, bitcoin history says it all massive crashes just happened overnight 237 down to 67 USD last 2013 not to mention the MT.gox hacking disaster for almost 50% major loss to its market value and price, dumps and bears are totally frustrated that breaks our momentum towards the 20K bull market ATH that's why the common and simple encourage of community just hodl is necessary, it will be paid off in the future given that you hold the right coin.
388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: good news!! on: March 26, 2018, 03:17:51 PM
Yahoo Japan is planning to launch its own cryptocurrency exchange, a report indicates

https://www.coindesk.com/yahoo-japan-launch-cryptocurrency-exchange-2018-says-report/

Added a big man in the technology industry and accepts crypto.
what do you think?
Hoping that they will bring a decent exchange to us if not this news would be in vain to help the cryptocurrency economy but on the other side, I'm glad that Yahoo is catching up with the trend.

The g20 conference recognized the crypto as a kind of asset, I understand it is a valuable thing like gold or diamond, so fun
Gladly that G20 acknowledged cryptocurrency as an asset and did not listen to those idiots who are spreading false information and news ranting that bitcoin is a bubble thingy or dead, some cryptocurrency acts more like an asset rather a currency well is it nearly profitable to treat it as an asset to hold rather than to spend everyday.
389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will go down! on: March 26, 2018, 02:33:25 PM
7000 BTC was moved to Bittrex.
There are rumors that MtGox is involved in this. There are some implying association to Mt.Gox, Bittrex wallet and even Winklevoss.  But in any case, trying to sell them quickly can reduce the price of bitcoin.
As you say it is just a rumor, no exact evidence that Mt.gox trustee is the owner of that bitcoin address as they are currently under investigation for the said notion, maybe some other people owned that address containing 7K btc it is not possible that other people still possess large sums of bitcoin from their stash, the thing is you cannot stop people from selling their coins as long as your not dumping bitcoin like the trustee did if he was guilty of that, bitcoin will always come down but not stagnant from the bearish market.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is $900 a realistic prediction for ETH by EOY? on: March 25, 2018, 04:49:54 PM
I want to know what you guys think  Huh Is $900 realistic? I bought at $900 so I'm hoping I just break even. I don't really think it will hit back to $1000 because of the short pumps and whales taking profit repeating.
That's a realistic number compare to an over exaggerated price predictions of Bitcoin and Ethereum, more people are saying it will break the resistance of 500 USD going for the bull market price of $1000 probably more let's just wait for all the cryptocurrency to recover from such attacks then we can probably experience to cut our own losses last December this would be the proper time to buy more don't just drag from those FOMO guys that is one of the mistakes of some people.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you Invest in Great ICOs but Anonymous Team? on: March 25, 2018, 04:36:55 PM
Obviously, the term “Great ICO” is subjective, but let’s say that ICO has an excellent concept and product. They even have steady and growing stream of profit and revenue (and can be verified.) They also have big names and notable investors and experts supporting the project. However, the catch is that they are anonymous like the founder of Bitcoin. None in the public would be able to meet or see any of the team members. Would you still invest in this kind of ICO?
Remember some termed Great ICO which possess the said qualities, ratings, support and they even have a decent team but in the latter part of they scammed people well that's the risk of going for an ICO without a proper digging to their projects and the products which are under development, it will always depend on the proper reasoning as to why they need to hide their own faces for their ICO, due to the growing fraud ICO numbers they need to guarantee the integrity of their project and the assurance cause they will need a full trust from their investors to succeed.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is the world economy is sliding down? And how bitcoin may help it? on: March 25, 2018, 04:25:30 PM
Why is the world economy is sliding down, a bit reminder to  2008 when the world economy is in freefall, The shock waves from the collapse of Lehman Brothers maybe on of the main factors.. The economic indicators - trade, industrial production, unemployment - are comparable to the early stages of the Great Depression in the early 1930s.
My point is, how bitcoin could take place to helps the Economics rise again or it would be an additional threat to economy stabilty ??
Bitcoin may not be the ace of hope for the entire economics to be at peak again due to some coins who can be the rival of the said coin, tons of cryptocurrency incoming from the future trying to surpass the predecessors and the pioneers of crypto or it will be further upgraded and developed due to some circumstances we may not know the exact thing but the important thing that all the cryptocurrency are carrying is the blockchain, this would definitely the innovation and the breakthrough of the future no need for rush, step by step the economics will go to the moon.
393  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are AirDrops exactly? on: March 25, 2018, 04:18:46 PM
How to have an airdrops and where does the airdrops go?

How to have airdrop or be a beneficiary is to sign up with the ico.

Where it goes is to the wallet you provided when signing up with ico company. The airdrop tokens are usually distributed at the end of the ico.
That's the common one but some airdrop are ridiculously requiring their own participants to fill the KYC requirements which is insane to do with just a free 1 - 5 dollars worth of tokens, I'm just a newbie with bounties that time and a member of a telegram ICO group and most of the members are asking if the projects require KYC to claim tokens, ask some member then they said that some ICO's even the airdrops require their participants for KYC, giving a sophisticated information for a few bucks no thanks.
394  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How hard is it to pay with bitcoin? on: March 25, 2018, 03:54:01 PM
No doubt how bitcoin made the transactions swiftly and rapidly that totally eliminates the third party transactions which are the traditional banking, owning the private key have the fullest advantage over the blockchains full potential, however, threats never cease to exist, not just the basic functions that you need to learn but some technical knowledge about the security and protection of your wallet against hackers, Hot wallets have a higher risk of being stolen by the hackers, double checking is necessary for the transactions you may send bitcoins to the wrong address, viruses such as copy paste malware can decipher and change the pasting of address from clipboard so extra precautions and safety is necessay to avoid this types of incidents, better to store large amount of coins to cold storage device.
395  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long will the bull run last ? 21 March 2018 on: March 24, 2018, 04:22:16 PM
Quote
Help me understand when the party will end
.
Bull party has not yet started, It was paused last year in December during the Christmas celebration and New Year, it was frustrating moment for all of us but I have a news for you we currently have a party for a couple of months we call it Bear party there was no definitive answer as to when it will end, the resistance of 9K is strong so we must have a strong push of price to break the wall then we can resume the wild party of the bull. Just enjoy the current party as most of the price of the coins drops from their former bull party price this is the time to buy more discounted coins, be careful though as not all of them are beneficial in the future.
396  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Prediction For 2018 To 2020 on: March 24, 2018, 04:06:46 PM
yes it is possible but at the end of this year to my opinion Bitcoin price will be forecast $30,000   to $35,000   because many people are little scared to invest in bitcoin but i am hopeful it will be stable.

That why it never gets stable, tons of factors influencing the volatility of this coin and that is one of the reasons why. Some investors are still afraid after they dig up some money into cryptocurrency, just a little dump, negative news and regulation they panicked, we also have to consider the upcoming events in crypto, google ban is not yet implemented it will take effect on June so expect more articles and news on that month other unexpected problems will occur in the future and also some positive events so expect another dizziness of price this year large numbers of price will get on a roller coaster.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what if the top 6 coins is worth a trillion each by 2020? on: March 24, 2018, 03:24:10 PM
what if the top 6 coins on marketcap is worth 1 trillion each by 2020? where would that put us at? is 10,000$ invested make us a millionaire yet? lets say new york turns into a blockchain city and chicago turns into blockchain city. they start investing we see coins in the trillion. this is where i see the market going. just thinking ahead and the future.
I smell some whales remaining on that year would be deliberately dumping their stash of bitcoins in their old chests how could I say their reasoning this time? a whale will dump thousands of bitcoin worth trillions of dollars each because they panicked or they will say they just want to buy some pizzas worth of bitcoin kidding aside that would be the possible scenario if that would happening in 2020 but the current market condition and its surroundings, the possibility to achieve that state of price is nearly impossible for now even the 1 million prediction of McAfee have a minimal chance to achieve.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Culture of hodlers on: March 24, 2018, 03:09:48 PM
I write of course stupidity. But I will say. What can we resist the increasing attempts to regulate bitcoin? It is to be hodlers. Even if you actively play on the stock exchange, do not sell everything. Let the small part will be all of the market. This process must be stepped up. We need to be fanatics and we will win.
We have different motives when it comes to bitcoin, cannot force them to hold bitcoin as it is going to be the opposite of what the blockchain for, that is true that some regulations cross the lines in cryptocurrency that you need to submit in the policy of KYC on exchanges, local crypto services imposed by the government and wallets they want you to be identified in order to regulate bitcoin and its users. Positively speaking this would help the authorities to fight fraudsters and criminals but the downfall would be the risk of our privacy but if you own the private key then your not required to be regulated.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How much is your user data worth?? on: March 23, 2018, 12:53:20 PM
Now that google and twitter have joined the banning of crypto ad, there have been some projects popping up that talk about privacy of our user data for advertisers. This as a good read about the value of our user data as consumers.

https://medium.com/algebraix-data/how-much-is-your-data-worth-c28488a5812e

What do you guys think?
That is how the data mining on advertisement and enterprises online works, Google uses the most keyword searches that you're using, for example, most of your searches are all about cryptocurrency, google ads will start to pop out some crypto related advertisements like ICO's, exchanges, wallets and coins on some of the websites that you will visit in the future, it also applies to the applications installed on your smartphones, I recently discovered that some of my apps are secretly conducting data mining by sharing the list of my apps installed on my phone by the creator this will make the promotion for the advertisers easier to conduct as they know what is the wants, hobbies, foods, and apps of the user its very alarming that they are invading our privacy.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your criteria to assess an ICO? on: March 23, 2018, 12:35:20 PM
These days scammers and theft disguises themselves to be a legit project, you can't just stop assessing an ICO because they have a fancy whitepaper, website, a legit look-alike team member and a responsive support during the pre-sale and the actual crowdsale, check their whitepaper if they are developing a believable and a working products or platform, don't just fall from their promotions and bonuses there's a case that the actual release from the exchange is cheaper from the deal, check the background and the authenticity of the team member mostly the founder you must validate their identity if they are a real person, be cautious as anyone can create their own ICO.
