381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: US Government Mistakes Digital Currency for Pacific Island! on: October 28, 2014, 02:19:05 AM
Where can we find the definition.  Of digital or crypto currency trading platform?

Does this include p2p transactions if available to public? Any coin with an exchange feature considered trading platform?

In which case vaguely would identities including known aliases be attached to this licensing?  Decentralized mamarketplaces would be by definition perhaps trading platform reasonably by vague law if it's written so..

Please post if this legislation in detail has a link.

Bittrex is going to de-list Silkcoin this Friday if the week's volume does not exceed 0.2 BTC-worth.
Just throwing that out there.  Play around on Bittrex a little if ya feel like it.

OK, thats a good idea, we dont really want to be de-listed from bittrex.

well we need a big move of some sorts!!! to get silk up and running again.

Being on bittrex.  Is not the definition.  Of 'up and running' lol

When new releases ready.  They'll be released. Otherwise I'll be silent except for fun and tech support if needed.  Don't give into exchange extortion.

wasn't referring to bittrex, just in general so we can still grab on. a sneak peak of some new ideas for the coin.

Well... unfortunately.. all the sneak peaks and new ideas.. get snatched... developed..  and then dumped on bittrex, starting at sponsor page.  Over and over and over again.  3 months now.. still haven't changed silk ticker despite multiple requests.  Things are becoming clearer and clearer..  So no.  No more sneak peaks.

My advice.. wait for the 9 million mintpal coins to be dumped through bittrex as they steadily have been...  Let them delist us.  Don't give the mintpal scammers any more money unless its tail end of delisting and price is dirt cheap.  End of story.

No more sneak peaks or ideas.  We're voting on POS raise currently.  Cheap vote date halloween.  Current vote is for 111%.  But lots of talk about 1111%...

Vote ends Midnite, Halloween, as the Witching hour begins. 1 silk per vote.

If I was to put this ambiguously..  A coins features are now worthless when it comes to price.. We are trading in an owned market..  "buy the news, sell the product" - this is the thorn in the side of a developers dreams.. I will not succumb to fear and only release the project when complete.

Buy silk if you like, and stake as you will. Shake the tree of greed, and pick up the leaves when the end is near.

This is not. A short term gain.. This is a long Term Revolution.

Let the thieves dump.  And leave the shops the extortionists threaten protection fees upon...

Wait.  Hold.  Or Dump.  Makes no difference to me.

I have not sold, nor will sell a single Silk.

Follow.  Or Don't.

Vote or Don't.

Not much else to say.

This ain't a song and dance show..

Not yet..

CEO of Capital One Financial in 2009, Richard D. Fairbank earned a total compensation of $6,076,805, which included no base salary, no cash bonus, $2,000,019 in stock awards, $4,000,001 in option awards, and $76,785 in other compensation.  In 2012, Fairbank's total compensation was $22.6 million.  Fairbank receives a base salary of $1.
    Yet..

Meanwhile at the office..
"The bureaucracy is far crazier than anything I've seen in any other company. It can be very difficult to get through the red tape and get things done. Half of the people who work here are there to prevent the other half from doing their jobs."

"There is a weak approach to expense management. As a result. Most of the office is traveling at any given time even though they don't need to be. People will habitually fly from Toronto to Richmond Virginia for a single short meeting. People go on trips simply because they are young and like to travel."

"management is ridiculous; managers are promoted without any training - they micromanage
-promotions are the motivator for everything; individuals are not committed to company or values"

  Well..  course there's this too..

"Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond have reappointed Richard D. Fairbank, chairman and chief executive officer of Capital One Financial Corp. of McLean, Va., to a second term as the Fifth Federal Reserve District's representative on the Federal Advisory Council. The new term begins Jan. 1, 2011.

The Federal Advisory Council, composed of a representative from each of the 12 Federal Reserve Districts, confers periodically with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System on business conditions and issues related to the banking industry. It also makes recommendations regarding System policies. Representatives are selected annually by the boards of directors of each Reserve Bank."

..  and who's the federal reserve again??..  oh right..  shadow shareholders..

Guess the Boston tea party didn't work after all...

And for every moron.. that says...  pay back your debt! It's as simple as that..  we'll don't worry.  They're coming for everything you own too.. oh and also everything your entire bloodline to come owns too..

Oh yeh..  that microchip implant payment system is getting close.. and will make it much easier to manage all of that personal debt the corporate elite need to fly to their tea parties...

Great vid for kiddies that don't like to read. Could be wrong, but I think there's some illiteracy in this thread..

Well considering I'm in the US and it appears the website is blocked for US IP's I can't really visit the site. I checked it out through TOR but I don't have patience for videos. Watched some of the videos on Vimeo though...

Why can't I access your website from the US?

We have been advised to block all traffic from the USA. This is something I personally do not like. But the US government are what they are and do what they do. If you would personally like to speak to me regarding what we are doing I have no problem in speaking to you and answering any questions you may have

Regards

Mark

US forced an ip ban on your site?  This is something new isnt it?   have to do with Bitlicense?

Sorry removed the poll site from the thread.  Not finished yet.  Will be transferring it to vote.silkcoin.io.  Finishing the comm system for it.

We are preparing for the pos change, as well as coding the multipool, looking to release a lite staking wallet, and working on the weaver.

I will upload the new blockchain download to the git this afternoon.

There are currently no reported bugs in the wallet.  Mintpal will be removed, although there is no current threat of the api causing any issues as it has been frozen.

Aristotle said that you know who a person is by their actions. I don't think he said anything about a photo id and background check.

No we run the Apis from our website and then to markets.  Has a cache to allow us to freeze Apis before hitting the wallet if changed by the exchange.   I was so caught up in the mint pal fiasco, didn't even think about the API being changed really.  They've now disabled the API completely and we have froze it from our site.

My Bad for not paying close enough attention.  Was busy being blown away by gox #2.

In considering though, it likely is a good idea to have a lite client as well.  The more features in wallet, and In particular dealing with exchanges, the more problems can arise.

As well, some users may only want send receive balance and staking features, so a lite client as aback up or as a user preference might be a good idea.

We have tried numerous times to replicate the error and so far no luck.   Can users confirm if these crashes were windows, Mac, or both?

Think there was 3 reports of crashes before situation was resolved.

Before you notified us of the cause and the fix, my (W764) wallet had crashed repeatedly as it was opening. Panic. Backup and remove wallet.dat (test app with fresh wallet.dat). Virus Checks. Download a fresh copy of app. Try another machine using same blockchain. Delete blockchain (without making a copy). Wallet still won't open. Reports here of similar problems. You report the fix. Left to redownload blockchain because of own carelessness. 18 hrs using blockchain.zip. Lots of time wasted (but not needlessly if lessons are learned).

Sorry about the shorthand, but that's it in a nutshell. Thanks for fixing it (but please update blockchain.zip). But my point is that we now have a proven mechanism that can remotely disable wallets. So the ability to reinstall the app without enabling the features looks like a priority... or a second 'emergency' wallet that enables transfer of funds. But that means maintaining Two wallets in sync. Mandatory upgrades will apply to Both. And that leaves room for more confusion.

PS
I also (carelessly) deleted the logfiles or I could pass them on to you. Sorry. There was an entry about being unable to make a connection, so I tested the app with the internet disconnected but it still crashed (although it remained open slightly longer before crashing). I used CClean to clear browser traces DNS and registry faults, but in retrospect I should have tried a more thorough registry cleaner.

Should have the blockchain download ready for tomorrow.  Will add to the git.   I'll try and keep an up to date download regularly available from now on.

And yes.  A lite bulletproof staking wallet might be just what the camel ordered.
