3821  Other / Meta / Re: 70% - 80% Threads In Forum - Time Wasting - Look At Good Sample on: November 15, 2020, 01:01:35 PM
Forum have 70% - 80% time wasting threads.  Sad

... and the best example is this thread that you just created. No idea why you had to create this thread which is subjective in nature.

I just hope that you explore the forum more and check the relevant topics that you need. Also, I do not think that you understand fully the forum and you go here, complaining about merits, threads, etc.
3822  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about crypto profit on: November 15, 2020, 03:42:15 AM
Hi there!

I don't get it, why would people would invest in BTC now? current price is $16K but people still invest in it.

even if it reaches imaginary price of $32K people would get just +100% of what they've risked while you can invest in altcoins and MAYBE get easily 10x-100x on your risked amount...

I mean what's your thoughts about it?
What coin do you think will 100x within a year? <3

When I first joined the forum last 2017, the price of one (1) bitcoin was around $4200-$4400 with occasional highs and lows. The reason on why most people invest into bitcoin is due to its high volatility that has the potential for its price to skyrocket. Currently, the price sits at $16,000 and most people believe that its price would again skyrocket in the near future.

Altcoins, on the other hand, do have the potential to be profitable but the risk is too high for someone to invest compared to bitcoin. Lots of shitcoins, fake projects, and exit scams plague the ANN section of this board which contributed to the stigma that altcoins are "scam coins."
3823  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: One year on the forum -encouragement- on: November 14, 2020, 06:10:47 PM
it's really awesome to read something like this, a lot of people new to this forum think that this forum is useless and they can't get anything out of
it, but your post shows how useful it is, and you also shared some advice from your personal experience, i respect that.

You can also contribute to the forum in your own way!
What matters is that you are passionate enough to share your knowledge about cryptocurrencies that may contribute the forum as a whole. Not to mention, contribution to the forum may be in several forms- like sharing latest and relevant news to the crypto world, providing meaningful tasks and services, and even scam busting of fake projects. As long as you have that goal that you want to reach, then moving forward thru small steps is the way to go!

Not going to be weakling task to bring positivity to Bitcoin, lol, I don't even know if am worth it. But I would start that journey from here -the bitcointalk- I also encourage you to, even though dreams are to be big, the simple reality achievement means as much, don't get desperate, you are pushing the weight up just like a bench press, and if you starting don't add much weight than your hand can carry, thats what over ambition does, add more pressure weight.

I admire the metaphor that you just mentioned. That is true in all aspects of life especially when you are trying to reach your goal. Start with baby steps but what matters is the consistency.
Regardless of what you think if you are worth it or not, your contribution speaks for itself! I really do respect people that passionately share their knowledge to others in order to support and help others. Keep up your good work, OP!

I want to know which threads i started myself.
Is there any short cut for this or do i have to find them manually ?

3825  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is the secret to success in trading? on: November 13, 2020, 08:00:53 PM
Knowledge in trading can definitely mitigate your losses, but I find experience as the essential formula to a successful trading career.

You can always read books, watch videos, and listen to people about learning to drive but you will never learn to drive one until you actually experience it first hand. Same as trading- you will better understand it more once you have actually tried and started trading your cryptocurrencies. I also advise to have a mentor (if possible) so he can monitor your progress as time passes by.

Lastly, try to allocate your resources by both short and long-term goals for a clearer goal to reach. Trading can be relatively difficult but if you exert tremendous effort, it will all be worth it in the long-run!
3826  Economy / Economics / Re: Hoping that its the end of corona virus on: November 13, 2020, 04:07:15 PM
The COVID-19 virus has significantly affected not just major businesses but also small and starting businesses in all countries affected. Not only did it cause so much economic and financial damage but it also affected job opportunities which contributed to increase in unemployment.
Unfortunately, even first world countries felt the damage caused by the virus. Imagine the people who are living in a third-world country where their job is essential for the needs of their family.

The spread of the disease cannot be reduced unless vaccines are available. Maintaining social distance is not possible to control the virus examination shows that many people are infected with this disease. People need to protect themselves by thinking about their own health benefits. Although the government has made the right decision many are not following this rule. Therefore, more allocation should be made in the health sector and everyone should be engaged in activities in compliance with the health rules until the vaccine is available.

That is true.

While some may take for granted the so called "social distancing", it is one of the effective solution in order to avoid the widespread of the virus from person-to-person. Less people who are affected means lower chances of acquiring the virus in the household.

Nice Catch!!
Btw it's not that surprising. Most of the new projects starting with "Y" or on behalf of the DeFi Project mostly do this. And we have the right to be more suspicious and do more research on this project

The last time OP was online was when he posted this ANN thread. After that, he vanished and ignored my accusation against the thread for his plagiarized contents. Unfortunately, projects that start with "Y" or other DeFi related projects are tainted with stigma in this forum due to its reputation being a plagiarized/scam project. Genuine DeFi ANNs and projects in the forum have a relatively hard time earning trust from the users due to projects such as this one.

To everyone who wishes to invest or to purchase any tokens in this project, I highly advise and recommend to STAY AWAY and IGNORE this project as it is tainted with lots of plagiarized content which heavily implies a scam.

The OP is not good in deceiving users here in the forum but unfortunately, he may look for potential victims outside the forum. As the defi hype is still ongoing, he may get some users to buy his worthless tokens. This is another defi token that will easily make to the scam defi list. Let us see how he will react on this issue or just leave quietly?

Like what I have mentioned above, the last time OP was online was when he posted this AN (November 09, 2020). Four (4) days had passed since the last time he posted and I feel that this is one of the cases where scammers would just create a plagiarized ANN and hope that one or two newbies would fall to their trap. I seriously doubt that OP would answer against my accusation.
3828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mind Blown Gambling Facts on: November 13, 2020, 02:57:18 PM
Hahaha this is the cutest thing I've ever read about gambling  Grin In our country Philippines all husband and wife vowed to love each other for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. But I know that there is also a law that separates your funds or property from your husband or wife and that law legally states that you do not have any right on your partner's property or heritage. And that agreement will be signed before the marriage.

Well according to the Family Code, the property relations of the husband and wife may either be:
(1) absolute community property (ACP); (2) conjugal partnership of gains (CPG); and (3) separation of property. Also like what you have mentioned, the marriage settlement MUST be executed prior to the marriage and it begins at the exact moment of marriage. The rule that I have mentioned belonged to ACP, in which all the properties of the spouses will be shared equally.

The main point here is- you may execute a marriage settlement before the celebration of the marriage and you may stipulate any exclusion of properties or anything for as long as it is consistent with the law and is according to good morals. So if you want to specifically exclude your gambling earnings to yourself, then put it on the marriage settlement!

3829  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Arbirate.com - Ponzi scheme on: November 13, 2020, 08:33:47 AM
Man, again with these ponzi schemes!

Those ridiculously high returns given in a short amount of time are very unrealistic. I really doubt that a company would offer those kinds of returns without planning on anything shady or any exits. Based from my experience, after investing into a ponzi scheme, they will make it appear that the funds you deposited will accrue each day with the interest. A week or a month before its promised maturity date, you will experience problems in withdrawing these funds and then the website will just crash.
I hope people would truly avoid ponzi schemes as it is definitely deceiving and convincing.

Thank you for reporting this, tvplus006!
3830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Philippines Allows Land-Based Casinos to Accept Bets Online on: November 13, 2020, 05:42:51 AM
This is actually great news as this would imply additional taxes of revenue for the government.

My only concern would be the implementation of this online-based system of gambling. Due to its nature, people would most likely attempt to "cheat" the system. Another thing, I also do hope that the customer service would be active and participative. Problems regarding withdrawals and deposits should be addressed clearly and in a systematic manner to avoid confusion.

Though there may be some potential problems, this is a good step for both these businesses and for the revenue since it provides an alternative way of earning taxes.

<snip..>
Quote
Alfredo Lim, president of the country’s operator-regulator, PAGCOR, confirmed the move to Bloomberg on Monday by text. But he declined to elaborate on the shape these new online gambling operations might take, or whether Filipinos would be able to play.

Interesting, maybe everything is still on paper and these gambling industries are experimenting or studying the system for online betting. I really have high hopes for this especially that this would cater to almost all Filipinos even outside Manila.
3831  Other / Meta / Re: Image issue with bitcointalk and imgur. on: November 12, 2020, 03:53:37 PM
besides imgur.com which is currently having problems and imgbb.com as you mentioned.
postimg.cc is also a good alternative in my opinion, because I have been using it for a long time and until now I have never had any problems with the image display.
In fact, I have an account and save a lot of pictures that I've uploaded before.

I agree with taufik123.

In my formatting of scam reports, I mainly use https://postimages.org/ as my main source of posting images in the forum. I tried using imgur but most of the time, I experienced the same error. For some reason, the images in imgur expires and it appears as an "invalid image" after a given set of time.
You can check my history of topics that I created and almost every picture that I posted, I used postimage. I hope you settle and consider this solution, OP.

3832  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My journey from a default full member to achieved Senior member. on: November 12, 2020, 02:27:58 PM
Congratulations for reaching the Sr. Member rank! The journey had been rough but all of your hard work paid-off!

Like what I always mention to threads that has relevance to "receiving merits", if you view "merits" as something that is essential or as a chore, chances are that you will be receiving less. But if you view the forum as a place of contributing knowledge in the crypto space and you initiatively post/create threads that actually help people, then merits would be a secondary or a "collateral" effect to your actual contribution.

I'm pretty much on same boat as you, few 'quality' contributions and I shall be there, just need my lazy ass right up than competing bounty quota and not caring further.  Tongue

You can do it and never lose hope! Try to convince yourself to NOT think about merits but to think about your potential contribution to the forum. In this way, the merits would be the one chasing you and not the other way around!
3833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How long until we can bet with bitcoin in real life casinos? on: November 12, 2020, 02:05:58 PM
<snip..>

Online gambling platforms already offer cryptocurrencies as a payment; I really do not see the need for physical casinos to accept bitcoin as payment but if the demand for it is high, then maybe they would consider it.

Just my opinion, I find gambling using bitcoins as a waste. Bitcoins are precious resources that has the potential to double-triple its price in the unforeseeable future. As a metaphor, it is like your gambling away your stocks in casinos that have a very unreliable chance for you to win. Though if you are that eager to gamble, then again, I would not judge your choices.

3834  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM Alert] Cryptoboy.ltd Doubler Scam Website. on: November 12, 2020, 01:21:57 PM
Have you seen the doubler site that is not scam. It is obvious that they all work according to the Ponzi scheme. There is no point in listing such pages, because thousands of new ones are created every day.

I beg to disagree.

There are lots of people, who are not members of the forum, that browse daily on the forum. Some of these people are newbies who have little knowledge about bitcoin or investing in general and they are interested in knowing such. If they visit a website which offers high daily returns, they may be tempted to deposit their resources on that project. I hope you give weight to my opinion and trust me as I am speaking by experience!

By creating threads such as these despite that they are not listed on the forum, it provides an extra layer of safety to newbies in the forum or to anyone who visits this website if they happen to check this board.
3835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Yfi.bio, DeFi earning made easy on: November 12, 2020, 08:37:33 AM
Do we have an ann thread for YFIM or an official timeline when they first started their project? Maybe unrelated, but those opening were also used in another YFI-letter project, this one is YFIQ, although they seemed to be dead now. How reputable is YFIM? Can't find their ann thread, I'd like to learn about them.

https://github.com/Yfiq

Edit: oh, nvm, they're scam too https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276879.0

Thank you for pointing that out! I did not realize that there was a scam accusation thread made against YFIM. It is just ironic to see that some of the contents in YFIB were copied from YFIM, which the latter was proven to be a scam project.

I tried looking and accessing the original website of YFIM but it always redirected me to YFIM.mobi. Since the layout of the website is the same as YFIB, I do have a feeling that both are the same project as YFIM applied some minor changes to make it appear legitimate facially.

I found the type 2 flag: This user violated a casual or implied agreement with me, resulting in damages. please support

While I do sympathize with your loss, you should have exerted the extra effort to double-check his feedback.

The user was negatively tagged last August 2020 since he was also selling fake adobe codes. In addition, while I do understand that some newbies do sell legitimate products or offer real projects, I still highly advise to transact with them especially if such newbie recently created his account.

It might be late but I will still tag the user in case he attempts to do it again though I highly doubt it. Again, please be careful next time!
3837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Yfi.bio, DeFi earning made easy on: November 12, 2020, 03:08:59 AM
Hi upon checking the contents of your website, I noticed that you have the same exact layout and information as YFIM.MOBI. I really hope to hear from you soon so you could explain the striking similarities on the project. Kindly check the reference below, thanks!

3838  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ponzi Promoter [whoisyourking] on: November 10, 2020, 05:58:46 PM
The moment I saw that he advertised on the marketplace, at first glance I knew it was a ponzi scheme.

OP, I highly suggest that you create a flag against this user so newbies may be notified and alerted. There is a significantly high chance that he will be scamming in the forum and it is our job to avoid that. I will keep myself updated on this thread until you create a flag. Nonetheless, as @TalkStar did, I will also tag the user on my end.

Just opened a discussion   5 minutes ago https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288251.0

 Smiley

I also observed that you opened a scam accusation against the same OP but you failed to post it on proper format. Nevertheless, I am happy that you also took the initiative of reporting the user. Thank you!
3839  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit found me on: November 10, 2020, 03:54:40 PM
So I got my very first Merit
<snip..>

You are entitled to feel that way as earning merits can really be a chore. Like what some mentioned here, the merit system is rather a subjective method- wherein a person merits a post which he/she thinks that is useful.

I have a tip for you: try your best to NOT think about creating something that will garner you some merits. Rather, think about the stuff that may contribute the forum in some way. In this kind of mindset, merits would be the least or the second thing that you would think about as it will become a collateral or an "after-effect" to your actual contribution in the forum.

For example, if you are passionate on sharing information about your knowledge on cryptocurrencies or etc., then create such thread and post it. You would be surprised on how people would also share the same joy as the one you viewed, thus creating this potential to earn merits.
3840  Economy / Reputation / Re: ''Betnomi and yahoo62278'', something fishy is goin on... on: November 10, 2020, 03:35:27 PM
Betnomi is an amateur platform, tied together with a lot of lies, manipulation and arrogance. I wouldn't advise anyone to play here. They cannot be trusted.
And as for this topic, probably some people have been hired or are alt accounts from yahoo62278 because crybaby betnomi can't defend herself.

If you have any problems with Betnomi, create the necessary scam accusation against the project and provide all the necessary evidence needed.

<snip..>

Like what I mentioned above, create a scam accusation against the project and supply the necessary proof/evidence to strengthen your claim. There is nothing wrong if you are sharing your opinion but if your opinion contains words implying that you are indeed accusing the project of fraud, scam, or any shenanigans, then it is mandatory to provide proof.
