2861  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: my first post on: October 08, 2021, 05:17:29 PM
Post my first reply under your first article. I have the same problem. I hope to contribute to the forum while I can learn something. Then I saw this post in the beginners area.

I learned to relax and learn.

Just take it easy and do not rush things. The problem with most newbies is that they are too focused on ranking-up in which their post quality suffers during the process. They try so hard into creating threads with only minimal results. Just enjoy and take your time in the forum in learning new things. Read threads about cryptocurrencies and it is not mandatory to reply to every thread that you visited.

Remember, this forum was created in order to be an instructive learning tool to everyone who wishes to learn more about BTCs.
2862  Economy / Economics / Re: Why exchanges are charging a big amount as transaction fee on withdrawal on: October 08, 2021, 04:57:35 PM
It is really annoying to pay big amounts as transaction fee. Today myself encountered a pathetic situation. I was in need of money, and my wallet had $400 worth of TRX. I wasn't able to change it directly to fiat, and for this reason I deposited the entire TRX in an exchange and traded against bitcoin. Now on withdrawing it exchange took a transaction fee of 0.0009 btc and what is left is around $350 worth bitcoin.

If this is the scenario surely then we can't make a plan with what is available in the wallet.

Please post the exchanges with the low transaction fee and good trading volume. Maybe next time it'll help me.

I think it is preferred if you convert your BTCs into another altcoin to lower the transaction fees. Remember that most miners get their compensation through processing the transaction that is why prices are relatively high. In addition, with the increasing price of BTC in the market, it is obvious that transaction fees would also increase.

Again, like what most have mentioned, better convert it into an another altcoin to at least lower the cost on your end.
2863  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the role of fiat currency disappear against crypto. on: October 08, 2021, 03:43:27 PM
Currently, there are many usd-based stablecoins such as, usdt, busd, usdc and maybe many others.  To be honest, I used to think that crypto would completely eliminate the usd's dominance of the world economy but I was wrong, it turns out that usd is now evolving to crypto (stablecoins).  What do you think, whether in the future bitcoin or other crypto can replace the role of currency in each country and leave fiat currencies such as usd, euro, yuan and others.

It won't until the use of fiat is completely obsolete, which I doubt would happen in the near to long future.

Remember that in order for fiat to become obsolete, all countries must adhere to the shift of currencies. Back in the days, barter was the main system of trading and it slowly evolved where countries used paper money to denominate a standard value of currency. If cryptocurrencies were to replace fiat, then all countries must view and accept BTC as the main standard of currency used around the world- which is nearly impossible for the time being.
2864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Related Question Comes In a Admission Test Exam on: October 07, 2021, 04:38:03 PM
Bangladesh is now becoming more positive in cryptocurrencies. Many ministries of govt. are now talking about blockchain technologies. We hope, very soon they will legalise the crypto industry.
A fun fact is that yesterday a govt. university creates an MCQ question about Bitcoin in the admission test.
https://twitter.com/AaravCarrel/status/1445844886238875648?s=20
06/10/2021 admission test
Rajshahi University - B Unit - Group 3

This is great news along with the recent announcement of El Salvador's shift in recognizing BTC as legal tender.

The more countries that view BTC as something positive in their economy, the more countries that would join the bandwagon which in general, is good for cryptocurrencies. The fact that a question about BTC has been integrated into an admission test implies that its country has a positive view for its long-term effect and usage to the general public. I hope that other countries would follow this move as well.
2865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice for fun or profits on: October 07, 2021, 04:21:47 PM
Different people with divergent motives for gambling and Dice is the most go to gambling game for fun seekers and passive gamblers, and this has raised some cases in the casino House where you play against a player with different motives to yours. I only visit casino houses just to cash fun and spend my free time, but you will find other players who are always at the casino at all times and always ready to play a game against anyone ready this makes me believe this guy is not an addict but have gambled as they mean of making money and dice being an easy game which relies on luck as the top choice.

I mean, dice games have been considered as one of the easiest and most convenient forms of gambling. Unlike in card games (e.g. poker, blackjack, etc.) where it involves a dynamic both of skill and luck, dice games are generally focused on just getting lucky on the rolls.

Another thing, gamblers would always have different motives when they visit or participate in a game. While others may see it as a form of entertainment, some view it as a way or alternative of earning extra income, though the latter method might be risky.
2866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $5000 to $1 million in 3 years and little over 2000 bets! on: October 07, 2021, 02:10:18 PM
I posted regarding this before back in 2018. Many said couldn't be done but i followed the methodology and the picks religiously and here we are. Spreadsheet shows all the picks in the log sheet and the dashboard shows the summary. Settings sheet has details on the money management. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15CSvrT3osJos4P-Fni102v5fvZqaqm8Q/edit#gid=644533306  Only obstacle that you will run into is you will make enemies with books and majority of the books will limit your and shut you down. If you cannot get accounts in pinnacle and betcris/bookmaker you wont be able to get far as million.

Wait a minute, this may be a bit misleading especially for an inexperienced gambler. This also might spread false information about gambling that it gives false hope and assurance that they will win $1 million dollars in 2000 bets.

Remember that there is no absolute rule or formula that can be above the odds. Even if the probability or chances may be leaning on your favor, even if the success rate is 80-99%, there is always that chance that one might fail. Be careful for people who would follow this spreadsheet. Rather than treating it as an absolute rule, use it as a general guide that will support you on your bets.
2867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent can sport be strengthened with cryptocurrencies on: October 05, 2021, 03:43:24 PM
Probably through sponsorships and charity that involves cryptocurrencies, for example, a crypto company or crypto devs could pledge a donation or donate something that involves or benefits sports like erecting gymnasium, courts and other sports facilities.
That would really help too, most that I saw are through sponsorships, I saw one crypto as a sponsor on the kickboxing fight, I can't remember the specific fight anymore because I'm not really a fan of kickboxing but I just notice that Logo which I can easily spot since I'm too active in crypto.

Imagine the impact of sponsorships via cryptocurrency like people would be aware of its existence, thus increasing its popularity on the long run. The application of cryptocurrencies into sports may be difficult to materialize but sponsorships and pledges can do the trick.

I would have loved if your question or subject line goes like this " To what extent can crypto currency be strengthen with sport" as that would have really make more sense in my opinion. This is because I don't really see how crypto currency can influence sport but rather how sport can influence crypto currency, though this is my personal opinion.

The last phrase that you mentioned makes much more sense than the question phrased by OP. Like up to what extent can sport influence the popularity and widespread of cryptocurrency given that thousands to millions of people watch it everyday? I feel like it can have a positive impact in the long-run by attracting new investors and users to its market.
2868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin an asset or a currency? on: October 05, 2021, 09:45:22 AM
According to the definition stated in Google, a currency is defined as:
Quote
The fact or quality of being generally accepted or in use...

With that in mind, it begs the question whether BTC is generally accepted or in use in a particular country. Well this may vary depending on the country and their current laws. In El Salvador, BTC was categorized as 'legal tender' wherein it may be used to compel a person to accept as a form of payment in debts, etc. But generally speaking, BTC cannot be considered as a 'currency' as it is not 'generally used' in most countries.

There is a difference between being 'generally accepted' and 'tolerance upon its use' wherein the former has some sort of acceptance imposed by law and the latter, while there is no law prohibiting its usage, is nonetheless has a threat of extinction once the government bans its usage.
2869  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Two strong policies to save your being scam on: October 04, 2021, 08:44:19 PM
For newbies,
As the title said, and already discussed many times on the forum how to prevent scams. Here is two strong policy that would prevent you being a scam.

1. Nothing is free in the world, so don't expect anything for free.

2. There is no such money-making machine that would multiply your assets within a day or month.

Hope you all get the point of what I want to say. Just keep in mind that two policies would save you from a lot of scams.

Aha! Lots of newbies are surely going to fall on this kind of mindset that 'free' or 'giveaway' stuff will always exist. In addition, they also do invalidate the efforts of others by downgrading the amount of effort someone exerts just to earn on this forum.

While I do understand that every newbie's dream is to participate in campaign signatures, they must first earn their way to participate. With newbies being created daily, the amount of posts and replies that I see coming from them are just staggering. Most of them reply with little to no sense at all which defeats the purpose on why they created their accounts.

If you newbies truly want to earn, then start improving your post quality by reading books, and/or surfing the internet to gain knowledge on cryptocurrencies
2870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: October 04, 2021, 08:35:25 PM

Donaire is still powerful to fight besides his age factor. Yes, the punches were really strong and quick enough to hit the opponent. Every boxer has their own style of boxing. I recently saw a movie with full of boxing. Yes, each one has their own uniqueness in playing with opponents. Yup so far I have seen, both Nonito Donire and Reymart Gaballo are really good fighters.

They are indeed, good fighters but my bet is going to Nonaire on this one.

As someone who grew up watching the fights of Nonito "The Flash" Donaire, it is truly a privilege to see him fight once again on the ring despite his age. Since Manny Pacquiao has already retired from boxing, boxers like Donaire are only of the few Filipino boxers who have established their name and reputation as the 'greats' on their field.

Though Reymart Gaballo is one of those aspiring young fighters who have a good track record, the experience is with Donaire on this one.
2871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: October 04, 2021, 08:28:07 PM
I definitely prefer skill based.

It takes a while to master but once you do you can maximise the odds of winning or at least not losing.

For example, BJ has a house edge of 0.5% if you play perfect basic strategy or even a positive EV if you know how to count cards. Compare this to American roulette which has a house edge of 5+%.

I'd say Poker is best if you're into Skill based gambling.
Also, there are this hand sign game where u go player vs player and select a hand from Rock, Paper, or Scissor and the best one wins, I could be totally random but if you can read the opponent correctly after a few games then it's quite skilled to win

They say poker is 100% game of skill in the long run, but since "in the long" is not defined, it could mean hundreds of years and a bankroll of billions USD. So, in reality, I wouldn't call poker a game of pure skill, but I wouldn't go so far to say that luck has 80% and skill has 20%, like some poker players are saying. Imo, the truth is somewhere in the middle: 60% skill, and 40% luck.

I think poker is a game of luck due to the odds of the cards you receive and the pool where you pair them.

What separates poker from almost all of the card games is that- there is an element of skill in terms of predicting and/or speculating the cards of other players that would render you to either fight or pass on the current round. Almost all players rely on external factors in knowing if a person is bluffing or not- while players like Negraneu have this gifted natural talent of speculating.
2872  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: online course for trading on: October 04, 2021, 06:03:30 PM
What are the things to keep in mind when looking for an online course for trading?

Before you enrol in an online course for trading, lower your expectation about it. Do not expect that after you gain the knowledge of its core principles, you would be successful in 100% of your trades.

My friend tried an online trading course and in reality, he did not gain as much knowledge that he expected. Though he understood the fundamentals of trading, the principles, and the techniques, there were still moments where he lost majority of his resources from trading. That is why, experience is definitely the key in trading and such separates a newbie from an expert trader.
2873  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about this? on: October 04, 2021, 05:56:55 PM
What do you think? Is it related to morale, ethics or what is your opinion?
The reason why gambling companies only make it in their terms and conditions for users to make use of only one account is because of money laundering policies, some users can try to make use of two or three or more accounts for money laundering purposes. But to be fear enough. I do not see anything wrong about this at all.

But I only noticed this much in fiat based gambling while if proven it is the same account, the accounts can be merged into one if nothing like criminal activities is involved in any of the accounts.

Usually, gambling websites prohibitively suspends an account which is suspected to have been taking advantage of giveaways and other freebies provided. They are, however, allowed to do this since most gambling websites post their TOS with regards to this kind of problem.

With online gambling becoming more and more popular due to an online setting, many people are taking advantage of such by sending huge amounts of cash for money laundering. While such criminal activity cannot be absolutely prevented, measures are being taken to at least mitigate the damage done.
2874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ]: Fury vs Wilder III - THE TRILOGY IS BACK ON !!! on: October 04, 2021, 03:10:31 PM
I am so relieved that the hype between the fight of Fury vs Wilder is seriously off the roof. It reminds me of old school boxing where heavyweights were the kings back then. Of course, my vote goes to no other than the Gypsy King himself as he dismembered Wilder on their second game.

I expect nothing but greatness and explosiveness on their upcoming fight. If there is one fight that I would gamble majority of my resources, it would be on this fight for Fury. The head movement, agility, and flexibility has caught Wilder off-guard along with his one-punch power.
2875  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is There Problem In the Crypto-currency? on: October 04, 2021, 03:03:52 PM
You simply spread accurate information and educate people. But while you can do that to decrease misunderstandings from the masses, there is simply an unlimited supply of idiocy. So while you can try as hard as you can(which is good), it's pretty difficult to have a meaningful impact.

This is the unfortunate truth that surrounds the cryptospace. With all the false information being spread across the media, the amount of people who are willing to do their research vs people who believe based on mere assumptions is just staggering. People will always cling to their bias without even exerting any effort to do research to know the truth.

In cryptocurrencies (BTC to be specific), there will always be that person who spreads fake information on social media. Unfortunately also, anything that is false in nature spreads quickly compared to something that is beneficial. Well I guess human nature is indeed full of idiocy, as @mk4 mentioned.
2876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iranian Bitcoin Mining Ban Lifted after four Months on: October 04, 2021, 02:15:06 PM
Iran made ban on bitcoin mining after gathering information of mining farms around the country. According to the data it is clear that more than 90% miners were using illegal electricity and without proper licensing. Only 5-10% were doing it in a legal way with proper licensing from the respective authorities. This illegal usage of electricity resulted on the deficit of day to day needs around the country. Now the government might've made required changes and lifted the ban.

This makes much more sense on their move to prohibit mining in Iran. I was surprised by this move especially that mining brings revenue to the government in return.

With the reason that 90% of the miners get their energy/electricity illegally, it is obvious that the government would have to pass an prohibitive suspension on mining. But with its move in lifting the ban, this may attract more miners in return which would contribute to the overall price of BTC in the market.

2877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen after 21 million bitcoin have been mined? on: October 04, 2021, 01:13:08 PM
Once all the bitcoins have been mined, it’s supply would be tapped out. Then as you said, the miners will get incentivized for processing transactions with fees.

This will be the case. Miners will be compensated for confirming transactions in the block. But I do think that the closer we get in reaching the 21 million supply, the lower the denominations would be in mining. Obviously, price of BTC would skyrocket when that happens (Law of demand and supply) but a fork might be needed in order the 21 million supply to somehow be affected.

A hard fork that would increase the coin supply.
There's no reason to ever increase the coin supply. Not-even-one. The system works currently with this circulating supply and any change in it would be consensus-ly irrational.

As I said before, there'll never be a user who'll support this because it'll instantly reduce their wealth power. One may fork the code and increase the supply; no one will follow other than those who aren't using Bitcoin and want to have profit.

While a hard fork might be the answer, I do agree that it is not needed as the system works as it is. The volatility might also change thus disrupting the market price.
2878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Legalized Gambling where you live..where does it stand? on: October 04, 2021, 12:48:11 PM
~
What country if you do not mind me asking lets to get off the hook for operating a illegal gambling website? AFAIK you cannot get a permit if it is illegal in that state because the people who give the permits will check where the business is located and where it is offering a service to. Even if the company and the servers of the website are located in another country where gambling is legal it is still illegal to offer gambling services to states that have made it illegal.
It's the Philippines, the illegal gambling industry here is big, one president was even impeached because they're involved in the protection of a big illegal gambling syndicate.

Unfortunately, there are illegal gambling establishments that have resurfaced in the following years ever since our President was elected.

Like what I previously mentioned, PAGCOR is the biggest gambling establishment created by law in the Philippines and it is responsible for bringing large amounts of revenue in the country. But with the resurface of illegal gambling websites/establishments, this puts a toll on the overall revenue of the country which can lead to a shortage of government expenditures as a whole.
2879  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn Merits? on: October 03, 2021, 11:11:50 PM
understanding,every topic they share.
Not really, there is no guarantee that you will earn merits for all your good post which is worthy because even an extraordinary post/thread maybe buried under spam but yeah it is the way and don't expect the merits for your contribution. Let the contribution of you to bitcointalk and one day the things will come to you which is better than chasing it.

Nowadays, newbies are hungry for merits- like the first thing that they do is to create an account and open similar threads like these. It is noteworthy to mention, however, that contribution will most likely increases the chance of gaining merits but newbies should deviate from this mindset and view.

When you create an account on this forum, change your perspective about these 'merits'. Instead, focus on creating actual threads that promote discussion and knowledge. Avoid asking questions that have been asked already and create threads that spark interest and focus on the topic.
2880  Economy / Economics / Re: knowledge and Capital which is Very important in Business or Investment? on: October 03, 2021, 10:23:55 PM
A good idea is the prerequisite and guarantee for the success of a business. A good idea determines whether your product or service has a market and whether it is irreplaceable, thereby occupying its own market and space and making money in society. The lack of capital is only temporary. Without knowledge reserves as the basis for innovation, it is impossible to make long-term profits. I think knowledge is more important than capital.

Indeed, the lack of capital is not a problem perse since loans are always present in order to fund your business. But the idea and the execution of a business plan is what drives the overall success of it.

In the cryptospace, knowledge about the market is essential especially if you have current investments either short or long-term. Though it may be easier said than done, all of such efforts will be worth it once you get to garner the profits in the given time-scale.

Capital without knowledge won't work. It will give you an experience of failure and you'll learn from that.
Having knowledge without capital can work because you'll have the idea of how to do business and investments and as well as making money out of nothing as a start.
But it's best if you have these two and you can work well to grow your money from being knowledgeable with investments and businesses.

Like what I just mentioned, the problem of not having any capital is not really a problem from its core since it can be dealt with by acquiring loans from banks or from your trusted peers. The idea of a business is what drives its execution further.
