2981  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or altcoins on: September 05, 2021, 03:16:00 PM
It actually depends on your goal as an investor. Generally, BTCs are more volatile compared to other altcoins due to its price dominance on the market. With lots of influence affecting its price, some people take advantage of it by short or long-term investment. But personally, I would suggest diversifying your investments by investing into both.

As someone who invested to BTC, I prefer to invest them long term due to the potential forks that will happen 3-4 years from now. Though the top 10 altcoins in the market somehow follow the trend of BTC, I would still suggest investing on the latter.
2982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not make curiosity to people around you while you are playing gambling. on: September 05, 2021, 01:29:38 PM
You can play gambling, especially if you play online gambling but we never know if what we did in gambling can attract people beside us to follow us playing gambling without knowing. Always look around you before you spend your free time playing gambling and not making others curious about what you did.

So how are you playing gambling? Did you play alone in your rooms or in your home or in the public area or do you have a special room just to spend your time to playing gambling?

I think my gambling habits are heavily influenced by my dad and my grand father. When I was a kid, we used to own a cock farm for fighting in tournaments. My grand father has this huge trophy displayed on our cabinet and my dad followed then his footsteps on continuing his legacy. Currently, I stopped gambling but being exposed at an earl age where you see your family gambling had made me thinking if it was the 'normal thing' to do.

When I first incurred my loss while betting on some games, that's when I realized that I should stop from this habit, which ultimately lead me to quit gambling completely.
2983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be more effective in the future on: September 05, 2021, 07:18:37 AM
The government banned bitcoin because of its uncontrollable nature. But that's not an excuse..because bitcoin is better that way. Give freedom to its users without any government intervention. It's worth it if bitcoin can be better in the future.
true as you said, indeed bitcoin has proven to be feasible for the future, because there is no government intervention and no third party interferes in bitcoin, we can do whatever we want, with the bitcoins that we have, maybe that's the reason why bitcoin is better for the future..

What the government wants is control over all of the transactions happening in their respective countries. If there is something that is beyond their control or reach, they would classify it as a potential risk to their power of control. That is why, there are countries that prohibit the transaction of BTCs or cryptocurrencies in their country.

While this may be happening to some, other countries see the beneficial of the blockchain technology in implementing it as an alternative mode of payment.
2984  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin assets cannot be blocked - is that helping terrorists? on: September 04, 2021, 06:09:33 PM
While most of the illegal activities in the world take place in USD and I am far from saying that bitcoin is actually worse than any other asset on that regard, I have read many news about the American withdrawal from Afghanistan and how the US government froze some billions of USD belonging to the previous government or perhaps (debatable) to the country itself. Obviously, this could not have happened if those assets were held in bitcoin or other crypto. It seems that not everything is good in self-sovereignty?

BTW, this is not a statement saying that Taliban are terrorist, just wondering about some other cases in which states were clearly linked to terror.

While I do understand that BTCs were somehow linked or associated in the past as an avenue to purchase prohibited or contraband items, I think this is not the case this time in Afghanistan. With the country being somehow frozen with their assets, they lack the necessary stronghold and infrastructure to support a widespread implementation of BTCs on their country.

Money is indeed power- one with the most resources can definitely take the tide of the battle. But in this case where the Taliban has control of the country, their problem would be funding (though China has expressed their terms into helping them).
2985  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner's interpretation on: September 04, 2021, 04:03:22 PM
Many things are difficult for beginners to explain even though they are still quite new to the information and knowledge in the forum. Google becomes a fair library for them apart from being able to discuss with other users in the forums. This is very likely to explain why beginners are too often involved as plagiarists when they fail to understand the applicable rules.

Are forum contributors responsible for alerting us if we make an unintentional mistake by failing to understand the rules, or will contributors ignore us immediately after reporting a post?

I think plagiarism is tackled the same way despite being an honest or an intentional mistake on the part of the user.

Normally, most newbies plagiarized content due to the fact that they are lazy to create quality content or because they aim on getting merits in order to rank up. I think it is the responsible of the user creating the post that what they are sharing/contributing is not plagiarized content from the very beginning. From that perspective alone, they should be aware enough of the risk/consequences of their action before they share something.

Failure to observe such standard is like inviting yourself to be reported by the forum moderators or users.
2986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining is not profitable enough! on: September 04, 2021, 03:50:26 PM
Yes but my point is it doesn’t matter what the fee is in btc. If the fee would still be 0.000030BTC in 2121 but the fee alone if worth 100$ then you would not be willing to pay that. So it only matters what the fee is in $.

I think it also depends on a geographical standpoint on where the mining business resides. Obviously, if the mining equipments are placed on a cooler and breezy environment, that would reduce pollution and energy consumption. Now, for the fees, mining will always be on demand due to the number of transactions that take place everyday. Even if the prices of BTC skyrocket in the near future, lower and lower denominations of BTC would be required but its amount would be equal to around a couple hundred of $$$.

I remember there was this mining company where they placed their equipments on a mountain in order to reduce the heat garnering from the equipments.
2987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin go high the poor will not participate on: September 04, 2021, 02:58:06 PM
I am thinking that if the bitcoin continue to go up to $100,000 and above.  it will be expensive for the poor people to invest. It will be for only rich people. It will be better for bitcoin will not go so much high so that it will be affordable to everybody to invest and have profit.

I will like to read and learn for everyone here.

Oops, I think you are forgetting something that is fundamental and simple- a person has always the option of buying low amounts of bitcoin. It is not necessary that they must buy "1" BTC perse, but they can invest as low as 0.001 or 0.0001 BTCs depending on their respective capital.

Investing is for everyone even for the poor. As long as they can allocate their savings properly, anyone can invest into cryptocurrencies. While the capital gains may be relatively slower for people who invest low amounts, they always have the potential of earning large amounts of capital in the future if they re-invest their earnings.
2988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card bans introduced in Ireland. on: September 04, 2021, 02:27:46 PM
I think this policy was created because of problematic activities where credit cards often transact with casino deposits which are identified as misuse of borrowed money as bets.
As for the impact for crypto, it clearly provides solutions and offers for gamblers to use crypto as an alternative to paying for a casino that provides deposits using crypto. Apart from encouraging crypto adoption, this has clearly given gamblers attention not to use their credit cards.

Or I am thinking that some of these credit card companies are complaining about nonpayment of some of their customers. Because if they have no problems encountered, I don't think there will be issues in banning the use of credit card. On another note, gamblers are now forced to find alternatives how to fund their gambling activities and one option is to use crypto, which is actually good for crypto market.

I agree with you on the issue about the non-payment of dues. The problem with most gamblers is that, once they get addicted, they resort to all possible ways just to recover their losses. As an addicted gambler with a working credit card, they would be able to gamble using the maximum credit allowed for them, then just run away assuming that they cannot pay their outstanding balance.

That is the reason on why credit card bans were introduced. Though I do not have actual data as to the gambling activity in Ireland, I would assume that the fact that these companies prohibit such mean that gambling activities in the country are relatively high.
2989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [WARNING!] For gamblers using coins.ph on: September 04, 2021, 01:56:12 PM
This is a very informative post- thank you very much for posting this as a warning.

I have a question, what if the proceeds of the gambling websites would be transferred to our respective coins.ph wallets, will the transaction be marked/regulated by the BSP as well which has the potential to be taxable? In all honesty, it is about time that the BSP intervenes as it is mandated by the law as a prohibited activity. Though there may be ways on how to circumvent this, I still highly advise users to avoid it risk of getting caught in the future.
2990  Economy / Economics / Re: A way to make money online? on: September 03, 2021, 05:20:59 PM
Im looking for a way to make money online. I have a website in development but I would like to find a way to make some extra cash while the website is in development. I would just like it to not be Surveys, or Dropshipping. Got any ideas?

I think this question can easily be answered depending on your current skills and techniques that you can offer. Under the marketplace and services section, you can post or create threads offering services for people. It is essential, however, that you provide something useful and marketable on the forum. Without any unique skill or service, then it would be challenging to find for an alternative to earn money online.

In addition, if you aim on participating on campaign signatures, then better improve your post quality in order to receive some merits. There is no easy solution for this as everything requires hard-work and determination in order to earn at least something online.
2991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Afghanistan replace afghan currency with Bitcoin? on: September 03, 2021, 04:52:49 PM
I see no reason for Aghanistan to replace their current currency with Bitcoin. The reason on why countries have a universal 'legal tender' so that they could exchange it for goods and services. If a country has a legal tender that is not accepted from different countries, then that would hamper their trade- thus affecting their economy.

Same concept with BTC as their legal tender. If there are insufficient infrastructures and businesses that accept crypto as payment (BTC to be specific), then changing it it would damage further their economy. Remember that most people are also unaware of BTC's existence so that would be definitely risk in both short and long-term.
2992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker casino but need KYC, is this really necessary? on: September 03, 2021, 04:41:17 PM
What do you think about this issue? Do you want to do KYC just for gambling on any platform?
Also added that they are giving new users registered through their referral link some money, and they also require KYC to receive it. I heard that this amount is up to 200$, if you are, would you like to sell your identity to get this money?

The purpose of KYC is to protect the gambling establishment of fraud and other scams. While it may add an extra layer of security on the gambling website, it also provides a huge risk for gamblers in terms of their safety and identity as it is been exposed to the gambling website. That is why, I highly suggest that people should submit KYC documents to familiar gambling websites to also add a layer of security on their end.

Personally, I would avoid gambling websites that mandates KYC documents as a pre-requisite in withdrawing your funds. It is just too risky to expose your identity in an online set-up where anyone can have access on it.
2993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to Poker on: September 02, 2021, 11:51:38 PM
Hey guys,

what do yout think about a new game, which involves both luck and skill like poker? Is there already such an alternative on the market? The problem with poker is that it is already solved by algorithms. Sure, there are still some players, but not as much as in the old glory times...

Edit: I'm just regarding games that you can play PvP and not against a house-edge-casino.. Wink

The thing about poker is, no matter how skilled a player might be, there will always be that element of luck that has to go in one's favor in order to win. But, a player could manipulate those lucks and turn them against their opponent which can decide the tide of the battle. The only card game that I can thought of is blackjack. Though it may be shorter and simpler, the mechanics are somehow similar.

Another thing, I also do think that poker is fine on its own- like there can be no similar game that can match the level of skill and amount of luck required. If you are really desperate on looking for one, then I suggest that you should check out online casinos and their games as they offer innovative and new features on their website as well.
2994  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Think twice before making a post on: September 02, 2021, 11:36:56 PM
If every new members should have a second thought before making a post it will really serve the purpose for which the forum is been created for. Thinking before posting  can kill the mindset of plagiarism which is an offence that the forum do not tolerate. If every new member should always think before making a post it will add value to members .

Unfortunately, there are members of the forum who create/reply posts that are either of low quality or plagiarized. The reason is simple- they want to have merits or they need to reach their weekly quota of posts on their respective campaign signatures. Though the latter reason is relatively more rare to happen (since campaign signatures are moderated by trusted managers), the issue of getting merits seems to be the reason on why newbies seem to focus more on quantity than quality on their posts.

Change your mindset as to how you post on the forum. This is a discussion created to be collaborative and not to earn cryptocurrencies (collateral effect).
2995  Economy / Economics / Re: Bullish or nuts? Fidelity predicts $100M bitcoin in 2035 on: September 02, 2021, 11:08:53 PM
When the price of Bitcoin hit a whopping one cent, do you suppose anyone would have taken seriously the notion that in a little over just one decade's time the price of Bitcoin would have risen to its recent all time high of $ 65,000?

That's the $64,000 question...

 Wink

Makes entirely sense! Back when BTC was first released, its price was nowhere near a dollar. Remember the guy that sold 10,000 BTCs for a slice of pizza? I mean, who would have thought that its price would skyrocket in the following years?

I mean, $100M is too much for one to speculate given the circumstances of each trade that affect its price on the market. But if you thought about it very carefully, there is indeed that possibility for bitcoin to reach that kind of price but I doubt that it would be at the year 2035. One thing is for sure- better HODL your BTCs for a good 10 years!
2996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Affiliates (Paid Streamers) - Fair or Not to other non-paid gamblers? on: September 02, 2021, 01:24:11 PM
This must be a continuation or in relation to your previous topic on RTP. That was a great thread to read by the way.

I don't think there is a need to expand on your RTP argument. There is indeed a level of unfairness there. Anyone with a knowledge on this probably wouldn't bet on the slot or game streamed by the sponsored streamer.

Unfortunately, the popularity of gambling websites being affiliated by some streamers are widespread nowadays. Though these paid streamers gain their cash from the casino itself thereby creating/increasing the cash pool on a certain game, sometimes, they tend to bend the rules and odds to their favor. This creates a level of unfairness on the part of the viewers as this convinces them to gamble at a certain gambling website.

Basically, the money that was lost on these paid streamers are recovered quickly from the scheme they created that attracts new gamblers.
2997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL...until when? on: August 29, 2021, 02:34:23 PM
Those who advocate hodling, when do you cash out?

I mean, dying hodling is not the plan, is it? Eventually, you'd need to enjoy the fruits of your patience, right? When is that, when someone says "hodl"? Is it a savings plan? A retirement fund? What does it mean to hodl?

A simple yet difficult question to answer as it varies from person to person.

Personally, the time to cash out is when you purchase a certain of volume of BTC at a given price, and sell it on a higher price on which you acquired them. In other words, "purchase low, sell high". Though this may be considered as the golden rule of investing, it also varies from person to person depending on their goals. Most people sell their BTCs at a price that they do not agree but it is essential that they do it.

I am HODLing maybe for a couple of years or maybe when the next fork happens. By basing it on the price history alone, the trend is that every 4-5 years, the price of BTCs skyrocket- so that may be the green signal again for me.
2998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Cryptocurrencies on: August 29, 2021, 11:31:21 AM
Have you guys switched from one cryptocurrency to other on account of continuous loss in gambling. If so what is the coin that has brought in big winnings as well as losses. Myself had thought of switching to other cryptocurrencies from ethereum and bitcoin once after every loss. After a long today myself tried with TRX instead of bitcoin. This also ended with loss, which made me realise it is not about the cryptocurrency and it is all about the luck.

I have not tried this because I believe it is futile. Though, as much as possible, I avoid betting using my BTCs due to their potential of investment long term. I tried purchasing some ETH also for betting but I do not see any difference as to using it against BTC.

If I were in your position, if there is a possibility that you could bet using altcoins, then do it instead of using BTCs. Their value for long-term is just unparalleled compared to any altcoins in the market right now.
2999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Sports Gambling Websites on: August 28, 2021, 11:59:49 PM
I really don't understand how someone could compare Stake with a sportsbook like nitrogensports?  Huh It's like comparing a professional team with an amateur one. This has nothing to do. On Stake you have live streams of NBA, MLB, UFC, many big soccer matches, etc., you have a live support available 24/7, you have very frequent give away bonuses and promotions, and you have a very clear and user friendly UI...

Everyone is entitled to their respective opinions especially if it were made constructively and respectfully. As someone who tried gambling on various platforms, I can conclude that (1) sportsbet; and (2) stake are the best gambling websites dedicated to sports.

Many have been asking what happened to nitrogensports and I have visited their website and they are still up and running. I just realized that the influence of campaign signatures in these gambling websites play an important role to their visibility. Before, Nitrogensports has a dedicated campaign signature but when they ended it, its existence has somehow become shrouded to the public.

3000  Economy / Economics / Re: Only young and naive guy believe in high risk high return on: August 28, 2021, 11:54:15 PM
Without a doubt, all investments involve some level of risk, but there are some risks that should not be taken simply because they involve risk. For example, crypto investment involves risk, but it varies from project to project; investing in already established projects such as bitcoin, ethereum, and bnb is less risky than investing in new projects, where the risk is high and the reward is high if you are lucky.

I do think that when the investment revolves around investing into cryptocurrencies, the risks are slightly higher compared to investing in stocks, etc. The reason is because of the latter's high volatility that the slightest increase/decrease on its price could mean thousands or millions in gain/loss depending on one's capital. Though many have regarded cryptocurrencies to be in a form of a 'high-risk' investment, I see it everyday as an opportunity as a short-term investment with minimal risk.

I agree with what you said. It depends on the investment as they involve a level of risk. But if you would based it on price history alone, investing into BTC has the highest potential of earning a person substantial amount of income if one should invest long-term.
