2921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Karnataka ( A state in India ) they introduced bill in assembly to ban o.gamblin on: September 23, 2021, 02:43:43 PM
Suuree it's to "wean citizens away from the vice of gambling" BUT "it does not include lottery or wagering or betting on horse races run on any race course within or outside the state." It's not for the sake of people, but for money, to keep the money flowing to lottery and horse races. #Feelsbadman for Karnataka slots players!
I think you guys can still get away with a VPN, but DWYOR.

ROFLMAO seriously? Man, that bill is outrageous for not including lottery betting on horse racing. Well, since it is just a bill, I am pretty sure that once it goes through the process of their Congress, the bill would be deconstructed and add all the necessary details that encompass 'gambling' in general. I find it ridiculous that they singled out some activities in gambling while not including the other forms of gambling.

This just goes to show on how their government did not think through about the whole bill. I do hope that once it gets deconstructed or fixed, it will be including all forms of gambling.
2922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With all your assets, Investing in Bitcoin is really a madness or beneficial ? on: September 20, 2021, 06:22:48 PM
I would say its "Madness" full stop.

There is no point in arguing that investing your whole money in one sector like GOLD, FOREX, EQUITY or CRYPTO, no sane person will do that ever.

Warren said "invest as much as you can afford to lose". If you can afford to lose your whole money then go ahead and invest in BTC.

This actually makes sense especially the last statement you mentioned.

Diversifying and allocating your investment into different investment mechanisms seems to be the right move for long-term investment profit. But in terms of crypto, generally, most people have invested here in short-term due to its high volatility nature. When millionaires invest into BTC, the slightest increase/decrease on its price would mean the gain or loss of thousands to millions of dollars on their part. That is why, only invest the money that you can lose.
2923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake bets on: September 20, 2021, 06:15:24 PM
Isn't this all for the sake of advertising, IMO, if the streamers fake those bets and have infinite funds to spend on the site due to xdeal, it's no longer our problem. Our faith, as gamblers, is still in our hands, and gambling platforms can never guarantee victories because it will always depend on our luck and ability to bet.

The problem actually stems from streamers who advertise such false services with rigged rates. Most of these streamers (if not all) are paid by these gambling establishments in order to advertise their supposed to be "legit" rates. But unfortunately, everything is just a smoke screen towards their unethical practice of rigging the rates and causing it to appear that you have a high chance of winning something.

Though this may be the case, please exercise extreme caution to websites that are being advertised by these streamers. The fact that they are 'advertised' means that they are desperate for exposure.
2924  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Continuously Loosing money in Trading!!!! on: September 20, 2021, 06:00:33 PM
Hello everyone,

I am doing Trading since last 3 to 4 years And in this journey i have seen many updowns(profit and losses), But recently from few weeks i am loosing  my money continuously with the same strategy  i have been using since last 2 years. I don't know what happened to me. So please anyone can guide me through this situation, it will be very helpful for me.

Thank you.

I find this very interesting. With 3-4 years of experience on trading, you should have at least grasped the fundamentals and basics of the trade. You should also have a clear idea about the market of cryptocurrencies about their movement on prices as well.

But as most have mentioned, there is no absolute formula in order to crack the tricks of trading. If such formula were to exist, then most likely all people would have been rich by now. Continue striving and trading (with minimal capital to avoid loss) in order to try and feel the market.
2925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blockchain and Gambling on: September 20, 2021, 05:48:32 PM
Quote
“If you can have these ledgers in place that proves what was placed when with some different examples, in crude terms, it’s basically more evidence for the operator or for the client in that case,” Higgins explained.

Imagine, all of the transactions that took place will be visible in a public ledger where any disputes or conflicts arising from non-payment would be immediately solved. This may not only address the issue of lost funds for gamblers but this would introduce a new array of convenience for both the players and the online gambling website as well.

The article is indeed a good read as it explained the future of gambling and the application of the blockchain to the former. It opens a new window of opportunity of the future of gambling as a whole, in parallel with the blockchain and its application.
2926  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn from others experience on: September 20, 2021, 05:32:25 PM
I believe times without number some top members have made little mistakes that is against the forum rules and they served the consequences. It will be too bad if will keep on falling fall little mistakes. New members let's try not to learn from our mistake because if we do ,it maybe too late to correct it .

Remember that these 'little mistakes' that you mentioned (e.g. plagiarism) is against forum rules. It is posted on the rules on the forum. Whether if someone reads the rules or not, constructive notice is enough for liability to attach to people who violate such rules.

But I do have to agree with you that experience is what separates a newbie from a veteran. Experience teaches you something to absolutely avoid since a person has experienced it personally.
2927  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador retirees protest against Bitcoin as legal tender on: September 20, 2021, 04:32:44 PM
Also I don't think El-Salvador has made bitcoin mandatory. I don't think they have forced their employees to get salary in bitcoin. So if that is not the case, then I don't see any legit reason to hold such protests. That's why the connection with the opposition party seems more obvious.

I do think that by making BTC legal tender in El Salvador, it provides an alternative payment for the payment of services, products, or debts which are recognized by the government. Though this may spark controversy among the opposition due to the anonymity factor caused in the transaction of BTC, you should really weigh the pros and cons of it.

Another thing, I also do think that this is the case where people are opposed to change as almost all are so accustomed to the 'normal' way of transacting. While the government did categorize it as legal tender, they are no way coercing or compelling the public to transact using BTC. So primarily, it is still under the discretion of these people if they would like to make use of BTC or not.
2928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Impact of underage gambling? on: September 20, 2021, 03:47:18 PM
.... but in recent times we see how young folks are making a positive impact and making money for themselves through the cryptocurrency space.
What is the best age a kid should get involve in online crypto gambling and what is your recommendation for that?

Young folks are making a positive impact in making money through cryptocurrency investment or trading. Though there may be a possibility of a few kids who profited in crypto gambling, I do not see any possibility for an underage kid to be exposed to this highly addictive act.

With regards to your second statement, a "KID" should not be involved into crypto-gambling until he or she is on or above the legal age of their country. The effects of gambling to a person are highly destructive as it has the potential of ruining one's life if left untreated or unsupported.
2929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar supporters destroy Bitcoin ATM in El Salvador on: September 19, 2021, 11:56:08 PM
This is just outrageous and show on how immature some people are in terms of their perspective towards the future.

Like what most have mentioned, if you do not support something, then just do not use it. Showing any kind of external act (e.g. destroying BTC ATMs, proteststing, etc.) only worsens the situation and show on how people are close minded about considering the future of money. The fact that in El Salvador BTC was considered to be legal tender is a move that most countries should have considered.

I do hope that these people would open their eyes and perspective about their movement towards anti-BTC.
2930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔗🔗🔗🔗 [ANN] 🔗🔗 [PoW] 🔗🔗 [SHA256] 🔗🔗 Palladium (Pd) 🔗🔗🔗🔗 on: September 19, 2021, 03:49:32 PM
Hi, just to give you some information, I tried accessing the wallet link based on the download link you provided in the webpage but it seems to be down for some reason. I hope you get to fix it as soon as possible. In addition, will it be also possible if you could post a whitepaper about the project? I am curious as to its mechanism and information since I find the details slightly vague.

2931  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dream Bitcoin 100k on: September 19, 2021, 03:33:56 PM
When Bitcoin goes down from 80 to 29, it goes up and down there for a while. But now it is going up and down again. But 50k the moment it is fluctuating again. I have learned from some news outlets that many people have exchanged views that Bitcoin will cross 100k by the end of this year. I would like to know the opinion of the members of the forum.

The general consensus will always be to HODL BTC for maximum profit 3-4 years after the fork. Though this does not apply to short-term investors, by just looking at the price history chart, you would see that while it may be volatile, the trend will always be upward.

When I started last 2017, the price of BTC was around $4,000-$5,000. 4 years after that or currently, the price of 1 BTC has exceeded everyone's expectation- that is why always HODL parts of your BTC for long-term gains.
2932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Liberalization of cryptocurrency in Ukraine - attractiveness for Gambling ?! on: September 19, 2021, 03:15:33 PM
The location for a cryptocurrency casino is not that important. I doubt that many players even know where the online casinos they play at have their headquarters. A casino can become trustworthy with or without a gambling license, and I have never heard of a Ukrainian gambling provider that deals with crypto. Usually, when gambling licenses are acquired, the platforms have to conduct stricter security checks of their players. That doesn't suit those who play with crypto. So, as long as anonymity is preserved and players aren't getting cheated, I wouldn't find it troublesome to play at an Ukrainian casino.

I do think that what makes or breaks the potential players of a casino is the "KYC function" where it slightly defeats the purpose of anonymity. While I do understand that government regulations or laws require gambling establishments to have KYC documents, this would backlash against the business as most gamblers nowadays avoid such function and registration.

With regard to Ukraine's potential attractiveness for gambling, this would still depend on the tax imposed by the government. If the tax is not that abusive, then it definitely has potential to attract and start a new business of online gambling in the country using cryptocurrencies.
2933  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Small capital and Big capital on: September 19, 2021, 02:09:23 PM
Starting with big fund will always be the best provided the user is able to manage it. So many things are connected but I conclude that big capital is good but a good trader can work with small and big funds and make profits with it. Let me hear your opinion on this!

I will have to disagree on this statement.

Starting with a big fund is considerably risky given the amount of funds/capital you enter in the market. The slightest increase/decrease on the price of cryptocurrency can either make or break your trading experience. Always start low if you can and gain experience on trading. That is what separates an experienced trader to a newbie trader- the knowledge and information you gain while trading cryptocurrencies.
2934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do Young Investors Prefer Cryptocurrencies? on: September 19, 2021, 01:42:29 PM
I do think that it is also linked to the convenience of owning/purchasing BTC compared to the traditional modes of investment.

For example, owning stocks require you to open a bank account and a brokerage account in order to own those shares of stocks (though there are banks that have their own stock account). Another example is bank investments or purchasing gold. All of those aforementioned example require you to at least own something in order to start. Whereas in BTC, just create a wallet and purchase it on trusted websites then you are good to go!
2935  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I the only one having this feeling?🤔🤔 ( #Bitcoin ) on: September 19, 2021, 09:17:38 AM
So back to the title of this post..
How would your life had been without Bitcoin???

I shared this story before and I'm going to share it again.

As someone who grew from a family of 5 with only a single father, financially, it was tough and challenging. As the oldest brother, all of the budget and priorities are centered toward my younger siblings especially in their needs and education. When my friend introduced to me BTC way back in 2017, it gave me the opportunity to purchase school materials and books in order to finish my college education. So, not only BTC has propelled in funding my education but it indirectly helped my family as well.

Without the convenience of earning BTC online, there is a huge possibility that I would have dropped out my education and worked as a call center agent in order to support my younger siblings.
2936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Underage gambling is an epidemic on: September 18, 2021, 07:10:48 PM
So if you have a problem with gambling, such as addiction, gambling underage, or in my case both, please seek help. Do everything in your power to stop. It will improve your life drastically. So next time you think about gambling, instead of gambling, call an old friend and catch up, or go outside and go for a nice walk. Have a good one! Cheesy

Hey, we are actually on the same spot!

I remember back in 2011-2013 where DOTA 2 keys where still in circulation, I used to bet my 30 keys (valued around $60) daily on dota2lounge website where I would be able to double or triple my profit. This gave me a false sense of security where I thought I was going to win every game on the team that I betted on. Unfortunately, all of my keys lost in the process which lead me to use the credit card of my dad (I was age 15) to purchase more keys.

To cut the story short, I lost all of my keys in the process and I receive a scolding of my life from my dad. The tip that you mentioned here is the essence of combating addiction- go have a walk or talk to someone. It will change your perspective and pull you out from that abyss and loop of gambling!
2937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Probability is not the reason for your loss on: September 18, 2021, 07:03:25 PM
ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT PROBABILITY IS JUST A GUIDE THAT WILL INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Its not a cheat-code that will guarantee your win every now and then.

The problem with probability is that most gamblers use it as a scapegoat or as a way of rationalizing their betting sprees or addiction. For example, a person will gamble more frequently relying on the probability data that he/she may either win at a specific % based on probability. It gives them this false sense of security and hope as probability will only make them bet more.

That is why, gambling is really against the odds. No matter how high the probability of you losing/winning, if the odds are not in your favour, then you are bound to lose.
2938  Economy / Economics / Re: What’s the nature of currency? on: September 18, 2021, 05:29:45 PM
Now you'll find that the essence of currency is still consensus, and its value is given by consensus as well. The collective consensus will gradually render Bitcoin a world currency. No one can resist this trend but adapt to it.

The value of BTC, like gold, is determined on how many people are willing to purchase it at a given price. So basically, the law of supply and demand primarily determines it price on the market. With all the investment opportunities that most people see, they fail to understand that the true value of BTC is the technology that powers it- which is the blockchain technology.

With this in mind, by applying such technology to our transactions, this has the potential to convert our modern currency into a digitalized one due to a ledger that exposes all public transactions.
2939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does the scammer companies earn through bitcoin ? on: September 18, 2021, 05:15:02 PM
I am new to bitcoin and come from a third world country. One of my friend told me a company came telling all to invest 150 USD in an scheme and then they can earn daily about 6-7 USD regularly by watching ads for the rest of their life. My friend earned 6-7 USD everyday by watching an ad of 8 minutes. He got paid instantly and also told me about the Binance mobile app. This worked for almost 1.5 months. Then the company disappeared. Those who invested lately couldnt get their money. I want to know how this process works. How is this related to bitcoin and how can one earn just by watching ads ?

Nope, do not ever believe and attempt to invest into ponzi schemes that offer ridiculous returns in a short amount of time.

Personally, I have already invested into a ponzi scheme. For 3-4 months, you could actually see your investment increasing but on the last month before the maturity of your investment, the scam will happen and you will lose everything in the process.

2-3 years ago, I invested into a famous ponzi scheme called "USI TECH" where I even attended a conference that was held in the country. I was able to meet the developers and project head of the team and that bias gave me the security that the project would be legit. Unfortunately, lost $2000 worth of BTC and from there, I launched my campaign against all ponzi schemes in the forum.
2940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think I have a gambling problem on: September 17, 2021, 05:01:17 PM
Hey guys! I just wanted to make this post to see whether or not you think that what I do for fun has turned into a problem, let me set the scene.

I started online gambling a while ago, at first CSGO skins gambling, then crypto gambling. I havnt lost a lot yet, but I honestly think its a problem. My idea of fun nowadays is booting up NordVPN, going to Stake, depositing crypto into the website, and gambling. I spend hours gambling, I dont lose much, but I also dont win much, I split even almost every night. But its all I can think about sometimes, when Im at school I think about gambling im gonna do when I get home. But I think my gambling might get me in trouble, im not even 18 (4 years away from it) yet and its almost all I think about sometimes. Do you guys think I should make an effort to quit?

Wait hold up, you're just 14 years old and you have already engaged in gambling?

I mean, it is very reassuring to hear that you acknowledged your problem at a very young age but when I was 14, my problem was entirely different from yours. Since you are just a teenager, try focusing on things that will help you prevent gambling. To be honest, I also gambled away my CSGO and DOTA 2 skins at a very young age but everything was lost during the process. While you are not yet losing anything, better to stop and focus onto different things.
