41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Brandt: 99% of Altcoins Will Be Forgotten in Five Years on: September 07, 2019, 06:01:03 PM
It's a good thing there are people like Brandt who are speaking their minds and shedding light on the current altcoin scenario, rather than being the ones promoting below par projects for a cut. While I agree with most of his words, it comes a shocker that this list includes big names like Ripple which has established itself over the last couple of years.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google Trends went crazy for the Btc search on: September 07, 2019, 04:20:43 PM
This is like one of those periods where BTC accelerates really fast and went past the 5 digit mark for the first time and it was visible how people wanted to know everything about it. Doesn't look like anything much is happening on the market and yet there is a massive spike in searches which is a good indication for the market moving forward.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Says China Zombie is a serious company with serious goals on: September 07, 2019, 03:35:17 PM
The last time I heard about John McAfee, he was facing charges of some allegations which he reportedly never had anything to do with. With that said, it is really hard to give heed to whatever he says as it has always been for his own glory, whether he was paid by companies to talk about them.
At this point, I don't think he should be considered a crypto influencer at all as he's been mostly leeching on whatever he finds decent enough to make him a good sum of money.
44  Economy / Economics / Re: Indian Economy rising at slowest pace - Should they consider Crypto-currency? on: September 07, 2019, 03:25:07 PM
Being an Indian, I can tell with a pretty high pitched voice that the Indian government won't be considering cryptocurrency any time soon as the economy is looking to sustain what was a wave of reforms brought by the Modi government which include GST and the famous demonetization. The last thing our country would want is private cryptos like Monero being legal which further helps corrupt politicians to launder money.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After Hack Binance Exchange to Launch Futures Trading in September on: August 31, 2019, 02:19:37 PM
A step in the right direction for a high-volume exchange which just came under huge criticism due to the recent hack. Futures trading is a really good move for an exchange as big as Binance and things can only get better from this position. Hopefully the security team will step up their game and prevent breaches in the coming days as the exchange looks to re-establish its name on the top.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man claims to be Satoshi, Ordered to pay Billions in Bitcoins. on: August 31, 2019, 01:13:05 PM
Craig Wright an Australian who claimed to be the elusive Satoshi Nakamoto is ordered to pay half his supposed worth to a man claimed to be his colleague.

The irony here is that since he has not proved his possession of even one of the 'Satoshi' addresses, he simply cannot afford to pay the amount even coming from his own account. With that said, even if the real Satoshi was alive today, he would rather silently begin moving coins from legacy addresses than coming out to be "The real Satoshi Nakamoto" in front of the press.
47  Economy / Economics / Re: Offshore banking rises popularity as US drops from 'top 20 cleanest countries' on: August 31, 2019, 01:08:24 PM
If not digital, this is another way to go around for US citizens to evade the stupidly high taxes. But this comes in as an audacious attempt as it involves many risks for the ones doing it. Why would anyone unwillingly pay taxes which have very less exemption associated with it. People would rather use offshore banks to keep their money and not get taxed against it.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You think ICO Investing Is Worse Than Online Gambling on: August 31, 2019, 07:31:37 AM
Investing in ICO/IEO is a whole different ball game compared to online gambling. The main difference being the people who put their money being divided into two different classes namely "investors" and "gamblers" respectively.
The only problem with the former is that it requires patience and perseverance to make money and is aimed at a longer period to earn profit while with the latter, it takes just a few minutes and some lucky to get hefty rich real quick.

50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin and the games industry? on: August 18, 2019, 03:51:42 PM
Personally, I play a couple of online games which support buying cosmetics or skins like Dota 2 and CS:GO. There are many sites which allow users to deposit major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum which is automatically converted into the dollar value at the time of transaction.

Additionally, there are altcoin projects like Dmarket which are based on the online gaming marketplace provide a platform for buyers and sellers to effectively trade items across games while avoiding much of the middleman fee involved.
51  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC volume is decrease significantly, anyone can forecast? on: August 18, 2019, 02:16:32 PM
recently BTC value and volume trading is decreasing significantly, is the investor shifting to other trading; gold, stocks or else?

anyone can explain why and moving forwards?

Honestly there is nothing to fear here as the decrease in trade volume does not directly mean that Bitcoin prices will plummet. The biggest factor is that Bitcoin can tank through this bearish period because of its stability over the years and a certainty among holders that the currency will never give way. Even though speculation may arise about traders switching to physical assets but we need to remember that BTC never existed 15 years ago and back then every investment would literally be a physical asset.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multiple Round ICOs? on: August 18, 2019, 11:15:47 AM
The entire point of splitting ICO/IEO rounds into multiple phases is to reach out to the investors in a way that makes it seem that investing in earlier rounds ends up being the most profitable. Offers like X% discount or bonus tokens on the first round, (X/2), (X/4) and so on for subsequent rounds attracts a lot of investors to buy into the project earlier in exchange for a chance at making more profit.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Machine Learning is Needed to Detect Money Laundering on: August 18, 2019, 03:03:20 AM
This comes in as good news as this move will give authorities a better shot at tracking down output addresses from tumbling services. The only thing I'm waiting to see is how they will deal with time delay between input and output spends even when the amount of BTC would be high and big transactions keep popping up rapidly into the pool.
Either ways, this is good stuff as this will reduce money laundering in the form of Bitcoin over time and launderers will have second thoughts of using mixers.
54  Economy / Economics / Re: Can a Stock Market Crash affect Bitcoin? on: August 18, 2019, 02:46:54 AM
Just like the traditional stock market, the cryptocurrency market comes crashing down during a fall. But unlike stocks, a dip in prices here means that more investors would buy in and the volume of trade would skyrocket. It's like pulling money out of the crashing stocks and putting it on cryptos which is sure  to go up over a period of time.
55  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] The International 2019: Dota 2 World Championship on: August 17, 2019, 03:22:47 PM
Some TNC fans just couldn't accept the fact that they are given a 2-0 match by Mineski. Well, I don't think every single TNC fan is against Mineski. I believe that most of TNC's fans are also fans of Mineski, and even Fnatic.  Grin Rumors of that game-selling are nothing but products of fans who couldn't make something rational from game results.

Anyway, so much for this rumor-mongering topic. TNC and Mineski are both great teams. Do I need to give you proof? First, the two teams were able to make it to TI9. Second, they are the only teams who were able to give Team Secret's unblemished record some nice scratch. And sadly, I lost some bucks out of those games.  Cry
However the good news is that both teams beat the most favorite team in the tourney, Secret.

This caught me off guard so hard that I had to rub my eyes in awe. Secret was looking so dominant on the first day and proceeded to start day two with a clean 2-0. Mineski came in really strong with the draft and gave Moon some of his comfy heroes like Tiny which he went absolutely bonkers on. Massive win for them to keep their upper bracket dreams alive.

Meanwhile TNC on the other hand have looked so good against the top teams that you can't put them out of contention for a place in the upper bracket. It's either Gabbi or Armel stepping up with stellar carry performances and Kuku/Tims having limelight moments which is really proving to be crucial for the wins they have managed to rack up so far.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is one of the reason why Bitcoin and Ethereum price not growing as expected on: August 17, 2019, 03:11:59 PM
If there are no new ICO and IEO in the market I think the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum will stabilize and increase.
What's your thought am I right or wrong?

The average cryptocurrency investor can be expected to have highest amount of investment in Bitcoin/Ethereum. What comes after this is the diversification in his/her portfolio which is accounted by the plethora of altcoins which is almost always a risky step to take. Indeed new ICOs and IEOs attract investors on a big scale and surely the people investing in them do understand about the possible risks that come with it, and only then proceed.
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi to "Reveal Idenity" on August 18th on: August 17, 2019, 10:56:00 AM

Articles and posts like these must be strictly condemned and not allowed to spread across publications as it is clearly misleading. It only gains more traction as more people read it and think of a possible Satoshi reveal which could've happened any day in the past 10 years and yet it hasn't.

Again, posting regarding it on BCT fuels more speculation and comes in as free advertisement to whoever is behind that misinforming website who will reveal their 'project' when the timer ticks down, instead of the so called "Satoshi reveal".
58  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Crypto trading bot beat human intelligence? on: August 17, 2019, 09:57:19 AM
I would rather back my own research and findings over what a bot can see when it comes to investing. There are good bots on the market which are pretty stable in generating profit but as an individual, I'd rather look for a long term project to invest in, which would reward me in turn with a bigger chunk of profit.
59  Economy / Economics / Re: WHY 21 MILLION BITCOIN CANNOT SERVE THE WHOLE WORLD on: August 17, 2019, 09:35:52 AM
The price of a Bitcoin ever since it existed has clearly been on the rise. We are pretty close to the 21 million cap and when I mean "pretty close", it might take anywhere between a year to ten to reach the maximum supply and when this eventually happens, the price of a Bitcoin could possibly be so high that a satoshi could even be a worth a dollar.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Hackers Bombard Chipmixer to Launder at Least 4,836 BTC on: August 11, 2019, 03:19:38 PM

Should they stop mixing stolen coins? Should they let the police know? Should they contact Binance and lock the funds?

How would they even know before the transactions began coming in that the big sum of coins was off the Binance hack? Even if they knew, once it went into the mixer, there would be nothing stopping the hackers from getting 'clean' coins in a matter of minutes. Also, for obvious reasons, the hackers would've used the TOR mirror making things even harder to crack.

Should they contact Binance and lock the funds?

This is practically impossible for ChipMixer as it would question their ethics of remaining as a legitimate mixing service. Then again, 'locking the funds' wouldn't be possible as the output private keys with the clean coins would've already have been claimed at any time.
