41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "NFTs are overrated, over valued and nothing but useless tech fetishism" on: May 07, 2022, 11:29:05 PM
"Tech fetishism" - that's exactly how I would describe NFTs.

I don't think that they offer any more decentralisation than existing projects, in fact, they are probably less decentralised given how much focus the initial founding team has over the whitelist allocation process and the roadmap of the project.

It is undeniable that all of the projects out there right now are short term money-grabs and none of them have actual utility. The utility that stems from them are contrived at best like "being a part of an exclusive club" which you can do without any NFT involvement.
42  Economy / Economics / Re: Where Bitcoin Stands during a Stagflation on: May 07, 2022, 11:15:56 PM
Any inflation, regardless of how economic growth goes, is positive for bitcoin and crypto in general.

Decentralised cryptos in general is in a very sweet spot whereby it has its own growth prospects due to rampant adoption as well as being a hedge against fiat collapse. It has low correlation in the long run with the fiat economy also.

So totally agree with your sentiment & analysis here. Stagflation is a huge concern for everyone in the population and it's time to take it seriously by hedging with precious metals, crypto, and alternative asset classes.
43  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Potential to Drop in the $32k Area on: May 07, 2022, 11:00:07 PM
This analysis is honestly as good as astrology.

TA is pretty much just overlaying a bunch of irrelevant graphs on top of the price action to show whatever agenda the person drawing it wants to show.

I do agree with the sentiment that potentially BTC can drop down into the $32k region, but I do not really see why people are so panicked right now. Prices are fine and still above the ATH set in 2017 back in the days - this selloff was imminent, and a lot of overleveraged traders will get liquidated if they are not careful. But this is also a great buying opportunity for those who want to enter the crypto market.
44  Economy / Economics / Re: Share your Money management strategy on: May 07, 2022, 10:44:42 PM
Yeah, for sure.

I think that you should always diversify, but I think that one of the key things that most people miss out on is the unwillingness to take risks.

When you hold cash, it is pretty much guaranteed to depreciate over the long run, even though it does offer you that short term stability. So I think it is much wiser for one to take risks and buy riskier assets (crypto, stocks, real estate) - given that the market rewards risk-taking in the long run. Even if your positions fluctuate in the short run, it will work out much better imo.
45  Economy / Gambling / Re: crash game some new ideas on: May 07, 2022, 10:30:29 PM
1:We all know it’s house edge :1%
2:This game you access any gambling website , its always auto run there .

How to change it ? Or could we change it different?

1: we make the house edge 0% or just 0.1%?
Could we change the house edge or not? In my experience  i think its gone be ok!

2:How to make money as the casino owner?
First , you can control the game time!
you could choose to open a new game anytime, and control the game time like 30mins or 1hour, why do that? you could take the winner profits 1~5% as fee
its like, i join your game room ,play the crash, the game is 0 edge to me but just  in 30mins or 1hour,i don’t know i will win  or not , if i win , maybe 100 usd, i will pay u 1~5 usd as fee , i think its ok , If i lose 100usd,i think the game is fair to me , i just lose to the 0 edge game, that ok right?

3: if as a player , you think its not fair about the hash , you could choose to different seeds game room

I just want know the  calculation of these new ways ,good or not?

thanks everyone‘s answers!

I'm not sure what difference that would make for the player?

At the end of the day, the player is going to get close to the same EV by your invention compared to if they just had a flat house edge, and of course the house isn't going to be willing to give away free money by having less house edge.

So it's not really an 'innovation' by any means. Could be fun but not really advantageous to either party.
46  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pounds bet into £157,865.59 on: May 07, 2022, 10:16:25 PM
Pretty sure that's 60 pence as well which is 0.6 pounds.

You always see these crazy parlays because they are inevitably going to happen given a large enough sample size, but you're probably not going to see yourself hit one of these in your lifetime.

Heck, even Drake has hit numerous crazy parlays on Stake - but he bets so much that it is bound to happen.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about Rewards Token Projects in general? on: May 07, 2022, 03:13:03 AM
Rewards token are those which you only need to hold on your wallet and receive dividends just by holding.

there's tax when you buy the token and part of that tax get distributed to the holders.

examples are:

$EGC    which you receive BUSD as dividends
$SFM    which you receive SFM as dividends
$ALTS   which you receive any BSC token of your choose as dividends

What you described is literally a ponzi scheme where latter investors are paid by earlier investors. If true, I would not touch that with a 1 metre stick.

Anyhow, I think that there are legitimate dividend tokens out there, but they are all primarily casinos (e.g. Betfury's token).

They distribute tokens based on actual profit, not because other people are buying into the token.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's your take of NFTs? on: May 07, 2022, 01:27:00 AM
The way they currently exist is useless.

I think that it's a matter of time before the hype completely dies down and a lot of people leave empty handed, especially those who have invested their savings into these things in the latter half of 2021.

However, as a technology it does have merits. And I certainly think that it is possible in the future we see more adoption.
All the thing that we do need to see is into its actual utility because this is the only way i do see for projects or trends to last that long or several years and not just because of some pure hype
and we've been there when ICO trend happened on which it did really result into a mess  after later years but im not saying that it isnt really worth of the investment because
as you can see in overall volume and cap then we could really tell that there is really someone who are really a fan of dealing with these things.

Yeah exactly - seems too much like a coincidence how much hype and market mechanics align with the ICO hype. It's just completely absurd to have some of the valuations we see right now.

The ETH network is getting bombarded with gas wars every month because of some new drop. That is not sustainable in itself either.

Not sure how well the NFT ecosystem will adapt to fit the more rigorous demands of the market especially during the bear market. We could see a lot of bleeding as people panic sell and try to dump their stuff at prices cheaper than the next person.
49  Economy / Gambling / Re: TRUSTDICE.WIN: $25 WELCOME BONUS [NO DEPOSIT REQUIRED] 🤑🤑🤑 on: May 06, 2022, 10:30:23 PM
Y'all! Don't forget to take advantage of our special $25 Free Welcome Bonus! Click here to join TrustDice and receive a no-deposit bonus of up to $25 (no wagering requirements).

I don't get how this is possible?

If there is no wagering requirements then you'd essentially be able to keep building accounts up and cashing out $25 for each of them. How do you plan on circumventing this sort of abusive behaviour?

Seems like a not well thought through marketing strategy to me or there is some catch to it(like you're forced to do KYC or something to withdraw).
50  Economy / Gambling / Re: Provably fair RTP ? on: May 06, 2022, 10:22:26 PM
We live in times where almost everything is possible with software these days, but I have not seen any Casino having code that shows in real-time what the actual RTP is for ALL their games.

You will go to a site and you will click through several steps to find the RTP, but the RTP is simply the advertised RTP for that game. The latest Slots have multiple RTP settings for the same Slots (eg Hacksaw Games) and you never know on which RTP that Slot is running.

Can Software developers not write "Provably fair" code.. to enable people to click on a option in the game to "test" the actual RTP of the Slot at that given moment?

There are a lot of discussions in casino chats and forums on casinos hiding the actual RTP for their games and the RTP and Variance being adjusted in real-time to "feed" during certain periods. A provably fair system to check this will build more trust and it will also reduce frustration and negativity from gamblers on these platforms.

You have provably fair systems to check the bets, but we do not have provably fair systems to check the real-time RTP being used by the casinos.  Roll Eyes

I don't think that you can do that deterministically.

You can only test the hypothesis that RTP is actually x % and seeing what percentage chance it is for the current string of events to have occurred.

Short term variance can completely skew results anyway and we'd have to essentially trust the software suppliers as well as government regulators to do the right thing, which is why I'm not particularly sold on these non-provably fair slots.
51  Economy / Gambling / Re: 💥🔥hilobit.live🔥💥 | BET HI or BET LO to roll 🤩 and the WIN BTC! 🤑 on: May 06, 2022, 09:33:54 PM
Quote
1. Consider playing with a dice strategy, such as the Martingale strategy.

2. Slowly increase your bet amount when youre on a winning streak dont get too hasty!

3. Bank half of your winnings to ensure a profit when youre on a roll.

4. Consider playing on a platform that provides benefits, such as a Bitcoin faucet.

This is terrible advice that has no statistical basis.

I'm also curious how your casino is able to handle a 20 BTC max profit per bet. That is incredible even for a really large casino, let alone one that seems to be quite new.

All the bets that are placed seem to be $50+ as well which is completely unusual. Are you omitting the smaller bets for a particular reason?
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What might occur on the next bear market on: May 06, 2022, 09:05:59 PM
I reckon it might look very similar to the bear markets of the past where much of the other attempts of the old layer 1 blockchain projects have failed to help the growth of their ecosystems. Fantom, Atom, Avax, Terra, Algorand, Cardano might slowly enter obscurity similar to Nxt and Nem.

There will also be many failures of tokens issued in those layer 1 blockchain projects. The development teams of those projects might dump and leave the project or just leave and let the projects die. I also speculate that it might also be a similar occurrence in the NFT ecosystem. Teams will run out of money and leave.

Much of the gamefi ecosystem will also die with only a very few of those projects to survive. We are presently already witnessing this.

The projects that were created during the bull market will have their first token unlocks this year and next year which will cause more selling and dumping on their communities.

Also, the regulators will be coming and this will cause more fear and pressure within the cryptospace.

Completely agree.

A lot of copycat projects somehow gained significant steam during the 2021 bull market, to a much greater extent than in any of the previous bull markets.

I think that it is time for an adjustment, and the bear market will be absolutely brutal for anything that doesn't have a tried and tested utility. That includes any of the avatar NFTs which are pretty much intrinsically worthless.
53  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think New Casino Should Partnered With Bounty Managers To Gain Trust? on: May 06, 2022, 08:56:06 PM
I personally think it's one of the best investments that an up and coming casino can make.

Is it going to necessarily mean that the casino will be successful? Of course not. But being willing to spend on advertising and gaining legitimacy through reputable members of the community certainly helps imho.

So in that sense it's less about the actual marketing and more about the trust that they get for being willing to spend handsomely on marketing.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PH banned online cockfighting - Worst gambling-related cases recorded! on: May 06, 2022, 08:39:31 PM
Anything involving animals will have its own ethical concerns.

I think though that in general, it is incredibly inefficient to try to outlaw any sort of gambling activity because you know for a fact that people are going to just be back at it in a different form.

As you said, the government may as well take advantage of the revenue that they can bring in and regulate instead of restrict access altogether.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which utilities will survive the bear market on: May 04, 2022, 01:16:24 AM
What type of crypto utility do you think will survive in this coming bear market? Some are saying most layer 1 blockchain projects will fail what about the likes of launchpad platforms, or we should just focus on metaverse only? Since metaverse isn't even close to perfection yet I think 💭 they may actually lead the way in future, what is your thoughts on this?.

I think that metaverse will definitely see a decline in activity.

The whole concept has been completely overblown and mostly by NFT-pushers who just want to make a quick buck or two. That in itself is fine, but if you just look at the quality of the projects in the space you'll realise that it's getting absurd.

DeFi i think will be one of the more resilient functions, and therefore I am putting a bit of money DCAing into Fantom and NEAR which have taken a beating so far.
56  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Warriors vs Grizzlies 2nd round discussion on: May 04, 2022, 12:57:14 AM
The Grizzlies had the refs and they still lost...

I think that the Warriors just simply have way more starpower and experience than the Grizzlies. It is extremely difficult to see them coming out of the West even if they do get a game or two on the Warriors.

They will fight hard, yes, but I think the combination of Curry, Draymond and Klay is just too much for them.
57  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: May 04, 2022, 12:15:14 AM
Hey Bitcointalkers,

What games do you like to play (mobile, board games, easy game with friends, etc.) that you would love to see put into an online casino for real betting?

There have been a lot of successful yet simple games in online casinos like Heads or Tails, Over/Under, and more. We are looking to see what games you guys love and wonder if we can turn them into an online betting game!

I'd just like to see more streaming services work with crypto sportsbooks.

I don't think that there are many other games that need to be implemented given how many already exist. There does need to be greater integration for existing games however.

Some other suggestions would be increasing the amount of slot selections, but most importantly increasing their RTP.
58  Economy / Gambling / Re: Btxwar.com new site on: May 04, 2022, 12:03:57 AM
I think they must have abandoned development of the gambling side and now this is just a PTC site.

Not surprising given OP seems to be affiliated with MMM which is a well known ponzi scheme.

It goes without saying that these guys are untrustworthy and you'd be foolish to entrust any sum of money with them - even if they do open back up the binary options trading aspect. There are so many other sites you could use.
59  Economy / Gambling / Re: 24casino1.bet on: May 03, 2022, 11:18:35 PM
You have to understand that Curacao licenses are literally worthless...

They don't do anything and are just there for display. You can get one quite easily just by paying the fees.

Try to keep bugging the support but I wouldn't be too optimistic. Their site is mediocre at best and quite frankly reeks of a scam. I would not be at all surprised if this turned out to be a con job.
60  Economy / Gambling / Re: Wizary.com |🚀NEW CRYPTO CASINO🚀| 💵10 FREE COINS FOR NEW MEMBER💵 on: May 03, 2022, 10:58:03 PM
Welcome to the forum!

I think the site looks fabulous. But the bonuses that you are giving out seem unrealistic in my opinion and I would like to see how you plan on sustaining that.

Do you require KYC? Otherwise, how do you plan on stopping people from abusing your system by claiming the 10 credits over and over again?
