41  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: NEED 100 BTC in Dubai. on: March 25, 2018, 03:39:52 PM
Sounds complicated. When the gold arrives, you need to have it assayed and checked for purity and everything else which gold traders do to assess the metal’s integrity. During this entire time the coins are held by a trusted escrow.

Would it be more convenient and less troublesome to take a business class flight to Dubai and settle with AED cash right there and then when coins are moved to the buyer’s wallet?

43  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: NEED 100 BTC in Dubai. on: March 25, 2018, 11:04:42 AM
Want to buy 100BTC in dubai on ddiscount rate. Looking for the legit supplier who can deal face to face in dubai. Payment method: Cash or bank transfer.

Regards.

Can you supply with gold? Just question, not interested in travelling to dubai.

Interesting. Assuming a per kilo price of 43300 USD today, 100 BTC would be just about 20 kilos of gold (20k grams). How exactly do you want that much gold delivered to you if you are not interested in travelling to Dubai? The logistics of paying you that much gold is what I mean.

That's even assuming you have the 100 BTC he wants.

44  Economy / Reputation / Re: Possible Phishing Link from user. Need Help urgent. on: March 25, 2018, 12:10:49 AM
Just curious. What exactly do these phishers aim to achieve by penetrating the accounts? It's not like they can steal coins within the short time span when the genuine owners realize what happened and the accounts are then tagged for being hacked into.

Or is it a quick sale? Which seems unlikely, given they first need to put up ads which would be open for all to see, including DT members.

Neither will taking out loans work. This is a painstakingly time consuming process involving signing of staked addresses etc. And lenders do a systematic check of the forum for any record of the account having any open and unresolved issues.
45  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying bitcoins with skrill or paypal on: March 24, 2018, 10:58:02 PM
You might struggle with getting offers here with those conditions.

First, PayPal is reversible. Everyone knows that. Disputes can be made up to 6 months which leaves the coin seller nervously hoping you won't do it. PayPal makes it conveniently easy for dishonest people to get their coins now and maybe, just maybe, hit that dispute button sometime next month or even June. They'll even let you do it until September. Come to think of that!

Now that's just the reversal part of the story. The rate (1 to 1) might not happen. Most who do PayPal trades are well aware of the risks and will try to override those same risks by applying extortionate margins to make up for those who previously scammed them with chargebacks. I know, it sounds criminal but this is why using PayPal won't work if you don't have the reputation and feedback to lower the chances of a payment reversal.
46  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling gtx 1080 on: March 24, 2018, 10:47:41 PM
Willing to use a middleman i ship to them first and they ship to you once they verify its all legit.
Looking for skrill/bitcoin ethereum litecoin

The easier procedure might be for the buyer to send the coins to the escrow for safekeeping first. Then you ship the GTX1080 to the buyer directly. Burdening the escrow with receiving and reshipping this video card might not be something most escrows would be willing to do.

Skrill might not work. It is reversible and escrows will not want to see a reversal or chargeback on their Skrill account. Bitcoin and altcoins are more suitable and safer payment methods.
47  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [LIST] Free EU bank accounts that you can be opened directly online on: March 24, 2018, 10:37:16 PM
My personal experience with N26 is quite negative.

Despite of number of negative feedbacks decided to give them a chancem since I wanted to open a business acoount for legal european Ltd, not for any crypto stuff. Verdict: quite unprofessional and moreover, since they do not folow their promises/advertisments on their own site - should probably be considered as scam.

So then my question: could anyone suggest another bank for free business account within EU (SEPA) that could be opened purely online?

I suggest you try opening a Mistertango business account. You first need to download their app and when KYC-verified, you can either have a personal or a business account. For a business account you might need to submit some documents about the business's incorporation and the usual KYC requirements for corporate customers. I have a personal account so I can't really tell you much about their business account opening procedures.

Apply for the account and give us an update here. Hopefully it will be a more positive process compared to your N26 experience.

48  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: URGENT - Can anyone help me with BTC for some paypal? ~$300 on: March 24, 2018, 10:27:57 PM
You should move this to the currency exchange section:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

Just to remind you, PayPal is a reversible and risky payment method. You are allowed to dispute transactions up to 180 days (yes, that's a ridiculously generous window of opportunity for a reversal) and if you used a credit card as funding source, you are also allowed 90 days to file a chargeback. This explains why, even if you have a clean, well-aged and verified PayPal account, deals involving PayPal are still approached with caution on this forum.
49  Economy / Digital goods / Re: sell-buy-bitcoin.com on: March 24, 2018, 10:23:45 PM
This is the wrong section for selling domains. I suggest you move it to digital goods:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=93.0

You should also provide more information such as price and how you plan to complete the deal.

Don't forget to use escrow.
50  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: PIN/Password web wallets on: March 24, 2018, 10:18:53 PM
I'm not a fan of the idea of putting PINs or mnemonics on any online platform to access my account. It just seems so vulnerable to third party attacks, even if the wallet's hosting site claims to use world-class encryption systems and other state of the art tokenization or data cloaking tools to thwart exposure of the information being transmitted to the server.

Banks do use this system. When I access my online banking app, it asks for my user name and a password plus a PIN for sensitive payment operations. They claim it is secure because the information is "tokenized" while it is transmitted to the bank's servers. Banks being indispensable to most of us, refusing to use their app might mean inconvenient trips to their branch and ATMs so I have to live with the app thing. Plus they have mandatory deposit guarantees and behind the scenes 24/7 security staff monitoring transactions which is not something you can expect when using online crypto wallets.

I do like Green's multisig security feature, especially the way it stops thieves from raiding your wallet by knowing just your PIN or password:

Your main GreenAddress account is a 2of2 account. This means that two signatures are required to validate any transaction: one from you, and one from us. We sign your transaction only if it complies with the limits you have enabled, and only when you provide two-factor authentication. This means that a potential coin thief has to first access your wallet and then also hack into your two-factor authentication in order to try to steal your coins.

A 2of3 account requires two out of three signatures, where the third signature is from a backup key known only to you. This gives you the security benefits of a 2of2 account, while still allowing you to move your coins in the event that the GreenAddress service is unavailable.

51  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi guys , please recommend a safe and low cost BTC wallet for win, thank you! on: March 24, 2018, 09:54:19 PM
If you need a Segwit wallet for low-fee transactions, I suggest you consider Green Address:

https://greenaddress.it/en/

Or Electrum.

coins.ph

I do not recommend using exchange wallets for storing bitcoins. Neither would I suggest using coins.ph which is an exchange wallet with private keys controlled and withheld by the exchange. They do not disclose the keys to their customers.

KYC procedures are mandatory and there are unforeseeable risks which can happen anytime. An example of such risks is the exchange's systems going through maintenance checks which often leads to wallets being inaccessible (not good when you need your coins urgently). Another example is the widespread practice of locking accounts or blocking access to crypto assets unless and until the customer is KYC compliant. This can be a painstakingly long process.

Another risky situation is when an exchange delays withdrawals, despite cleared positive funds on the wallet.

To avoid any of these scenarios, use a wallet you and you alone totally and fully control. By that I mean the private keys or recovery seeds are known and controlled by you alone.
52  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any way to receive payments through card anonymously? on: March 24, 2018, 09:24:49 PM
Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delay. If i can find any easy way for my customers to buy bitcoins using their cards then I will consider using bitcoin gateway. BTW  I would like to thank you all for your suggestions.

If you can convince your customers to pay the fees, here is a list of services which accept credit card payments for bitcoins:

https://www.simplex.com/bitcoin-partners/

Simplex is their common payment processor. When buying bitcoins from any of the services listed on the link above, the transaction is processed by Simplex.

For information about the procedure itself, here is Simplex's FAQ's page:

https://www.simplex.com/faq/

The daily and monthly transaction limits are fairly high which should suit the needs of a medium to high tier business accepting credit card payments. Simplex verifies buyers very thoroughly. Your customers should expect to be KYC verified during the buying process. I don't think they can easily chargeback money from Simplex. This is a company which fights chargebacks tooth and nail.

53  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain.info wallet doesn't answer my emails on: March 24, 2018, 03:34:45 PM
Whatever you do, remember this one important fundamental rule of safety: never ever reveal your recovery phrase to anybody. Not even if you are offered an incentive of some kind or any help to recover the coins on your blockchain wallet.

Follow the advice given to you by blockchain's support. If you correctly backed up your wallet with the right sequence and spelling of the 12 words, your coins are recoverable by either doing the procedure explained by blockchain's support or by using an alternative wallet such as Electrum.

You can also use the BRD wallet on an iPhone or android phone. After downloading the app, you will be prompted to either create a new wallet or to recover an existing wallet. The procedure is described here:

https://breadapp.com/support/articles/start-view/

I use this wallet and I can recommend it. Totally secure and stable.
54  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling 3 Bitmain L3+ on: March 24, 2018, 03:12:59 PM
No this is not a public auction, you can send offers to my email or PM me.
I will pick the most reasonable offer on 25 March 2018.
Sorry for the confusion. Smiley

And why do you keep avoiding the topic about escrow? Without escrow how can you guarantee that you will deliver the miners? You can't so escrow is a must.

Nobody will send any coins first. I know you mentioned that option about picking up but I'm not sure if it's a bluff, knowing not everyone would be willing to drive to Austria to collect the miners in person.

March 25th is tomorrow. Always good to plan ahead. To help you save time, here's a list of forum escrows:

55  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: I need legit 1+ year old Uk localbitcoins.com with 100-500 in transaction on: March 24, 2018, 11:38:34 AM
Purpose Start bulk sales with my Asia Partner.

Why can't you create your own account and verify it with your own credentials? If you have the coins or money to do these bulk transactions, then the account's age and feedback volume shouldn't be factors when dealing with anyone. Localbitcoins is an escrow service which protects both the seller and the buyer. You do not need a well-aged verified account to enjoy escrow protection.

Unless you have other reasons for wanting to use such an account? Why should it be aged, phone verified over a year ago and with 100% positive feedback and confirmed trades in excess of 100? Your reasons are private and none of my business but I was just wondering.. why go through the expense and trouble of buying such an account when you can create and verify your own account for FREE?

57  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MISTERTANGO debit card issue on: March 24, 2018, 10:14:39 AM
It's a rather big negative balance, -55 €.
That would be too much fees.
Also, why they are dividing deposits, if it was a single one? And then charge double fee? This is very strange to me and I have the feeling that I will wait for answer for couple of weeks.

The dividing of deposits into random increments happens because the bitcoins are traded on their linked exchange in real time when you deposit the coins. It's not Mistertango which buys your coins and converts them to EUR fiat. The event depends on those buyers offering to buy a certain volume of coins:

http://btc-exchange.com/

Some buyers will offer to buy, for example, just a certain amount of bitcoins which might fall below the amount you deposited. Mistertango trades the coins at the exchange's best rate. If that rate is filled, the next best rate is used until your deposited coins are completely traded. This explains why the EUR amounts are deposited in separate deposit transactions.

The fees are really bad news but I try to ignore it and focus on the convenience of real time conversion of my bitcoin to fiat which I can then SEPA-transfer to my other IBAN accounts in Europe.
58  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MISTERTANGO debit card issue on: March 24, 2018, 09:29:12 AM
Probably a glitch in their system but to be sure you should wait for their response. Try to explain the situation to them as detailed as possible. I too top up my MT account by bitcoin only but never had issues such as what you are going through now.

Is it a large negative amount? Prepaid accounts rarely go in the negative and the only situation when that happens is during a forced reversal of funds (chargebacks for example) or fees charged internally by Mistertango but your balance can't sustain those fees. MT will force-debit the full amount and leave the account in the negative in the assumption that you will one day reload the account with bitcoins. If past payments you made do not match the amounts debited from the account leading to the negative balance, then it's probably a glitch which might or might not autocorrect after they balance their books or correct the glitch.

If it doesn't correct automatically, contact them and make sure it's resolved before topping up the account with more coins.
59  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MONEYPOLO.COM SCAMMED ME 100 000 EUROS (100K) - 4 MONTHS AND MY ACCOUNT STILL LI on: March 24, 2018, 07:01:42 AM
That's a horrible position to be in. Your position, I mean. 100k Euros is no laughing matter. This is an immense amount of money. Not everyone has this kind of money.

What worsens the already dire situation you are in is the way they are handling this entire matter. This email for example is unacceptably invasive:

Why would they want to know the "final amount of bitcoins in your possession"? That's absurd. It's as if they are trying to fish out more information about any remaining crypto assets they can take from you.

Digital documentation of your btc origin (this I understand, if the purpose is to do a blockchain forensic check to find out if the coins are stolen or legitimately yours) and current storage (why? where or how you store your coins is sensitive information!)

As for your decision to cash out coins, why would it be a concern if you decide to trade them instead? You have every right to do so.

Verdict: they are a dubious bunch of criminals. Full stop. Did you put your personal home address on the airway bill when you DHL'd them those hardcopy documents they asked for? I hope you didn't. These are nomadic hardcore criminals. Russians and eastern Europeans have recently been all over the news in Europe and Asia for assaulting rich crypto millionaires after discovering where they live.
60  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What are the Bitcoin ATM limits in your country? on: March 24, 2018, 04:15:33 AM
One thing I wonder about is the Lamassu ATM. How do the operators do their KYC when the ATM is strictly a buy and sell process? IDs and phone numbers are not captured by these ATMs. The device is simply a screen asking if one wants to buy or sell. Below the screen is a slot for inserting money and a camera for scanning QR codes. If the transaction is limited to, say, $3000 per buying event, can't buyers bypass this by buying another $3000 after the first transaction?

The more complex ATMs (Genesis, for example) have ID capturing systems and even biometric scanners. Phone numbers are taken to be sure transaction limits are linked to a specific person and ID.
