If you aren't comfortable with the live figures, maybe leave them blank and only show the 7 day average?
Well - comfortable with it for all other coins - so basically the chart would have one new column only populated by TRC while for all other currencies the other column would be populated

When requesting a coin, it helps me out to post the link to the block explorer, plus the link to the thread for the coin. I only add coins that have a public block explorer and with all these coins popping up sometimes even finding the official thread is a bit hard.

Given TRC's wild difficulty swings, some time agao I implemented a moving average for the difficulty calc so it shows a difference difficulty than the snapshot you see at other sites. I think this is a bit more accurate because while mining the difficulty keeps swinging.
Open to discussion, but unless TRC has stopped those swings, a snapshot will continue to be a bit inaccurate.
TRC will always tend to move around since difficulty is based on an exponential moving average and it adjusts on every block. Wouldn't your average profitability over the last 7 days capture the "averaged" version of the profitability and so you could report the live "at the moment" profitability with live difficulty figure? If people want an idea of the long-term profit in spite of the swings, they have the 7-day figure for that. (Is the 7-day profitability % based on actual difficulties or your averaged values?) The problem is I really need a second column and then which one do I compared against? Honestly, I debate between keeping the moving average or just removing TRC as it is a coin a profitability calc makes little sense since sixty seconds later the number is wrong.

Just sent a small donation your way sal (txn: 5e6412c80c35db64c18f38b83fa44bd88a86511fec76b5cde8776fc261cba853).
I've only started referencing your site about a week ago, but it has served me well. I especially appreciate the LTC Profitability tab -- please continue to add new scrypt alts as new LTC markets come online.
I hope that everyone else who is using CoinChoose will consider donating too!
Thank you!!!

We're now trading on btc-e.
Does this mean you're taking the higher value between BTC-E and Vircurex and selling on the highest platform? No. I'm only doing cryptsy and btc-e right now. And I'm not yet taking the higher of the two. NVC LTC and FTC on btc-e, everything else is on cryptsy. Perhaps the depth isn't there, but you should look at Coins-E too - I found the API pretty easy to use.

Ever thought of making a SHA256 based pool with the same concept as middlecoin?
Switch Option 1:
BTC/DVC/IXC/NMC merged mining
Switch Option 2:
Terracoin
Switch Option 3:
PPCoin
Switch Option 4?:
Bytecoin
Switch Option 5?:
Freicoin
I bet it'd draw a lot of traffic and put a lot of money in your pocket from everyone with ASICs
Perhaps - though profitability on SHA256 has almost always been with Bitcoin plus merged mining (with small exceptions for PPCoin and minor times the crazy Terracoin has ranked up there).

Cryptsy changes the URL for their API. I wonder if that needs to change.

do u make your own calculations or do u trust coinchoose?
coinchoose isnt right always. f.e. nvc blockreward is wrong atm
I do my own calculations. My NVC block reward is correct. Being fixed now as I understand the magic formula for block reward.

the Doubloons be underground AAARRRR, too many ships spoil the plunder
I agree. The "most profitable" crowd only seem to cause angst with coins while the rest of us mine on and on steadily. I say leave the big-hash rate coins (the ones that can be turned in to BTC with a decent depth of market) on the auto-tune mining sites and leave the smaller, vulnerable to mega-hash overload, coins to their own devices (DBL's not the only one). I will leave DBL off the public coinchoose until I am told otherwise

I talked to Balthazar - NVC is just going to have to remain off the list for now. I will see what I can do to re-enable after I add these other coins.

Sal, NVC block reward is variable, depending on PoW difficulty (I guess), plus your site doesnt show network hashrate for NVC. You sould consult Balthazar concerning this questions/parameters, as he is the creator of this coin.
Sal, how long your site will be showing wrong block reward for NVC and, consequently, the profitability? Right now its 9.56 NVC, it is not a constant and variables depending on PoW diff. And again, how long will it last, Sal??? Look at NVC block reward, for example, at https://nvc.khore.org/, or http://bitinfocharts.com/novacoin/Your site showing its constant at 10.46, but it is NOT! Now it is 9.39 NVC, and may changing every block. I don't have a publicly available method to get either the block reward or the network hashrate (Crytpocoinexplorer gave up on the network hash rate calc for NVC as it just was too difficult to be accurate). So, as soon as I can I will remove NVC. Thank you.

Is it clear to re-add to Coinchoose?

I am working on adding the new coins today (so many coins!). Nibble is back - it was removed by request of the developer while a new client was finalized. Lebowski's added right now.
CAP diff should be right - it is what I get from the block explorer.
Notification service - that is a good idea!
Could you please explain the discrepancies between BTC and LTC profit ratios in both lists? The LTC based chart looks at the difficulty / conversion to LTC price and compares that to the difficulty of LTC to see which is more profitable. The BTC chart does the same but uses BTC as the base currency. Some coins have no market to convert to BTC so you only see them on the LTC chart. Does that clear up your question?

Why is coinchoose missing like 50% of the coins now?
ARGH!! Nothing from Cryptsy right now!!! I hate that site Ahhh, I see. Thanks. API changes from Cryptsy - should be good now (thanks Bigvern!)

I'll clear up the formatting today. The PHP function I was using was doing that silly notation....

Emerald listed in coinchoose.com as 3rd most profitable coin in BTC category. This is based on the previous trading price of 0.00003 in coins-e.com. The latest trading price is 0.0000488, 50%+ higher! That is the ask price, not Bid. Bid is closer to 0.00003
