Before I link my bank account can people here tell me if Coinbase is a reputable site to buy bitcoins from? Do any of you use that site?
Thanks
+1 on Coinbase, I have bought/sold many BTC there. Takes some time to get setup with all the verification stuff but they are trustworthy and fast.

Too bad, it's sha256... x11, scrypt-n, scrypt-og or groestl would be so nice to see here Why do everybody use the stale algos, it's boring. I'll tell you what's boring, is mining BTC all the time. It's nice to see a new sha256 coin occasionally so I can get my antminers doing something different!

If you go back about 50 pages you will see where I posted about someone who deposited more coins than what were in existence but people marked it up to arbitrage even though I said he withdrew every trade to a different btc address, imo to make his activities harder to track
Yes, I definitely remember this conversation happening several pages back. It sounded fishy as hell, but I figured someone smarter than me would research & expose if it really were a scam. I should have done it myself!

DAMMIT. Sucks BALLZ but I totally understand why CryptoGIR did what he did. Zim would be proud. I can't believe no one noticed this until now. Was it hidden in the block explorer? How on Earth do you HIDE a transaction so it's not visible in ABE? Did he hack ABE so it wouldn't be shown? I suppose that probably wouldn't be hard . . . kinda the downside of open-source I guess. I vote for NEW COIN, same specs, SHA-256 POW period and POS after that. Maybe we can call it FUUUUUUUUUUU....

We really need to get a multipool going for SHA, the first SHA256-based multipool & POS coin, we could leave BC and CINNI in the dust

How can I compile this with no makefile?

Why even bother creating a coin if you're just going to post the ANN and disappear?

I just got a stake..Thanks
My question is: How much is a share? I qualified for level 3 (264 posts)and got 100,000 coins..is this correct?
I'm guessing that by the time you applied, the level3 and level2 shares were already all used up.

He is a pretty shitty pool op. I see people complaining about him here all the time.
I chatted with him on IRC once. He only "checks up" on his pools about once a week, if you're lucky.
I am the operator for PityThePool. In the past few months, three of my pools have been DDOS'd like crazy - all three of them, OKAYPool was also running a pool for those coins. I have talked with other pool ops and there is suspicion that OKAY is DDOSing other pools to drive traffic to their own.

..... So why am I still here? I don't know, I guess I'm stupid.
Join the club The comments you made earlier about one pool holding majority hashrate are true. I was the first pool running for AIR ( http://air.pitythepool.com) and Alexander was bothering me constantly via PM about trying to reduce my pool's hashrate (as if I can control that). Now, they are totally silent. I have left a few khash pointed at AIR for the past couple weeks, I am holding several thousand now, but about to give up. Some weeks back, I remember Alexander posting that there would be no further updates on this thread and to PM or email him ( alexander@teamaircoin.org) for updates, but I don't get any responses that way, either. I'm about to give up here. If these really are some college kids at the Chicago school of economics, I'm guessing we have about 2-3 more weeks before this coin can be declared as permanently deceased. School will be out for summer

It appears we have left the silly meme-based coins era, and entered into a new era of color-named POS coins. Good times.

what's with the increased hash rate and price all of a sudden? sign of news to come?
Volume has been REALLY low the last couple weeks. Most likely, someone with 0.5 BTC to burn just bought up the price to 0.00016. With increased price, comes increased hashrate.

I have simple question. When I wait my stake coins, SHA sell orders on CryptoALTeX RISING Thanks Price on CryptoAltEx is rising because deposits are disabled, which means no one can deposit coins and sell them. I expect we will see the price drop pretty quickly once the wallet is fixed and deposits are turned back on, as the exchange is flooded with new SHA to be sold.
