Use Fuelcoin-src https://github.com/fuelcoindev/fuelcoincode

It seems that too many clients are still on the old version and some miners may have stopped the correct fork from taking over if they were on the wrong one.  We would recommend loading your miners on the p2p pool as we know this one is on the correct fork and try to get the coins back on track.  There will be thousands of lost coins in this process but it will stabilize the network if successful.

On another note we already have a backup plan in progress to fix everything as a safety net. Just make sure to follow @FuelCoinNEWS and @altcointoday on twitter.

I disagree, simply mining at a pool running the correct wallet will not make the network fix itself.  There are not enough nodes on the network running v1.0.0.1.  For example, all of the nodes listed in the OP are either offline or running v0.8.8, with the exception of 98.174.25.28 which is me and I can't get that node to sync past block 226999.  The seed nodes in the wallet are also running v0.8.8 so it's impossible to prevent from connecting to old nodes.

As far as I can tell Bittrex is also on the old wallet, I was not able to receive a withdrawal from them yesterday, and now they have a message on the FUEL market stating the wallet is shutdown.

Even the block explorer at http://blockexperts.com/fuel is still showing v0.8.8 which is even more confusing, since this is normally considered the authoritative source for current block height and version.  The block explorer listed in the OP (https://usecryptos.com/blockexplorer/FUEL) doesn't work.

We need a new list of nodes that are verified to be running on the correct version.

To get the wallet to compile, this is what I had to do:

1.  Copy the contents of /src/leveldb to /fuelcoin-src/src/leveldb to replace missing files
2.  Change permissions:
Code:
cd fuelcoin-src/src/leveldb
sudo chmod +755 build_detect_platform
3.  Compile leveldb separately:
Code:
cd fuelcoin-src/src/leveldb
wget https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/raw/master/src/leveldb/Makefile
make
make libmemenv.a
4.  Finally, compile FuelCoin:
Code:
cd fuelcoin-src/src
make -f makefile.unix

If he wants to that's great, but I'm volunteering 200GH to be used for a hashrate giveaway on the pool.  If you can keep track of the entries (one entry per hour of mining on the pool), provide them to me and I'll select a winner and point the hash at the pool.  I'll remove my own address(es) so I can't award the hashrate to myself Smiley

If that's not possible, I suppose I can just pull up the active workers list once a day and randomly select from whomever is mining at that moment.

That is very generous of you and I think would help get more miners to get back on the pool and get that excitement back for MMXIV

I should be able to pull that data from the stats.  I'll take a look tonight or tomorrow and let you know what info I can pull.

Also, today's payout is waiting for tx confirms (6 blocks need to tick by), so if you guys want to toss some hash on MMXIV till we get to block 6886, that would be helpful.

Something with MMXIV address, number of hours mined would be best obviously, but if that is a lot of work to retrieve, I understand.  If you could provide the MMXIV address plus the first/last share submit date & time I could figure out the hours mined from that.

I'll work with whatever you can come up with.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FuelCoin - Charity Project on: July 30, 2014, 07:31:07 AM
is there a list of nodes that are in correct chain to use for the daemon?

If I start daemon in pool it still find nodes with old version and so it stops download the blocks.

Agreed, I am having a hard time finding nodes on the new version.  The nodes listed in the OP are no good - all running old wallet.  Also appears the seed nodes from the wallet itself are not all updated.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FuelCoin - Charity Project on: July 29, 2014, 08:46:52 PM
As far as I can tell the majority of nodes on the network are still running v0.8.8.  I cannot obtain connections to any v1.0.0.1 clients, therefore my v1.0.0.1 wallet will not sync.

The network is a bit of a mess right now.  In my opinion this fork is a FAIL and needs to be attempted again at a later block height.

I do understand everyone's frustration and I do apologize for the delays, and lack of communication.

If you guys ever have any questions, concerns, or ideas on how to improve the pool, feel free reply to the thread, PM me here, or join the IRC channel (can be done from the chat page on the pool).  I will always respond to you within a day or two.

As for the extra 200 GH per day, that was MMXIV's doing, and maybe he'll start that back up again.

I am updating the wallet for fuel.pitythepool.com now, be back online as soon as I get this mess figured out.

Still unsure whether I should be using the code on fuelcoin-src/src or the /src folder - scary
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MMXIV | 2x Antminer S3 Raffle: SOLD OUT | Hard Fork Soon to Proof of Stake on: July 29, 2014, 07:17:10 PM
Peeps, thanks for the pool update and coming back to the thread to address questions/concerns - that alone helps build confidence, for me at least.

I am also glad to hear that the auto payouts are close.  I will be moving more hash back to the pool when this is complete.

I do agree with Phosphorous on most of what he said - the delay in payouts has been frustrating, and for folks who aren't haunting this thread constantly for updates and information, it probably ruined their attitude towards the pool, when they mined for a couple days and never received a dime.

I have been mining at the pool since it opened, and the longest I have gone without a payout was nine days.  During that time, I watched the total pool hashrate plummet down to where I was almost the only person left, which is when I removed a significant portion of my own hashrate, and is pretty much where the pool sits now.

I think I can safely say that the delay in payouts, and lack of communication regarding the delay, is the main factor contributing to lack of hashrate at the pool.  That, plus the several days of sha-256 mining that were unmonitored and resulted an entire shift worth of orphaned blocks.

My intention is not to throw you under the bus Peeps, the pool is GREAT and without it MMXIV would not be where it is right now.  Just glad to see you back and involved again.

Another note - the OP still says that mining at pool.mmxivcoin.com earns you entries into some sortof drawing.  If I remember correctly this was where you were selecting a random address each day to receive 200GH of hashing for 24hrs.  I don't think this has happened for several weeks now.

If you started this back up again, I'm sure it would attract some people to the pool.  I'll even donate one of my Antminer S1's for this - if you can keep track of the entries and do the drawing, I'll point one of my Antminer S1's (200GH) to mine to the selected MMXIV address for 24 hrs.

Those of us that entered have a free entries in to the next draw correct?

Go, Go A.R. Drone 2.0 !!

HAHA YES!  That would be excellent for a second raffle. Smiley

FANTASTIC payout from the multipool today http://pool.mmxivcoin.com:8082

Needs more miners!
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FuelCoin - Charity Project on: July 29, 2014, 05:41:43 AM
So . . . what's up with the fork?

I am the operator for http://fuel.pitythepool.com.  I have not updated to the new wallet yet because of the posts here that it is not compiling correctly.

I just downloaded the latest from github and was able to compile the code in fuelcoin-src/src (most recently updated) but it did take some changes to get it working.

I was also able to get the code in the /src folder to compile, again with alot of work - not sure which one to use.  It is running now and appears to be syncing:

Code:
{
    "version" : 1000001,
    "protocolversion" : 1000001,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 3292,
    "timeoffset" : 0,
    "connections" : 1,
    "proxy" : "",
    "difficulty" : 0.01465019,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1406611068,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
    "errors" : ""
}

I only have two connections and only one of them is v 1.0.0.1.

Without word from the devs recently, I am reluctant to put this code into the pool until I know for sure we're still going ahead with this.  It appears the fork did not occur yet (but we are not yet at block 227,000 either), transactions in my old wallet are still showing up fine in all the block explorers.

Congrats as well, Tripppn!  Once you receive your S3's, you should totally post a pic of them here so everyone knows the contest was legit.  It will help immensely with awareness on the next raffle!  Cool
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MMXIV | WEEK 6 | Just added x13 to the MULTIPOOL | TWO Antminer S3 Raffle on: July 24, 2014, 07:13:11 PM
Unfortunately, the one coin that that shift had been mined had a fork, of which the pool was on the wrong side of.  Thus all the blocks that were found became orphans when tfork was resolved.  I have written a script to check the block explorers for the coins we are mining to alert me if another fork happens, so I can take quicker action to make sure we do not loose as much to orphans in the future.

I was very much looking forward to buying MMXIV to pay the sha miners, as it would have been a very nice payout.

I can say that things will only get better as the code for the pool continues to improve. (getting very close to having full automatic payouts)

Well, that kinda sucks, but as a pool operator myself I can understand - shit happens.  What sha coin were you mining that forked?

Just another reason to get the auto payouts working as soon as possible.  We missed out on some great days to buy MMXIV when the price was very low.  The top of the sell list was down around 0.009 a few days ago, that would have been a GREAT day for the multipool.

Looks like one of the mined coins forked and we were on the bad chain. Post your MMXIV address and I'll send you a few to say sorry  Sad

I appreciate the offer - my address is 1ErZP5mEW5cC5JjECLzEEguG297226ARfd.  Thanks!

Fantastic pool. Hash away at the pool for 4 days and what do you get? 0.00. Nothing.
Funny how a zero hash rate resulted in all of those shares, and zero blocks being found when the prior and next shift found hundreds of blocks.

I sent ThePeeps a message about this already, I also had around 1.2TH in SHA pointed at the pool during those days.  Out of the 69 million shares submitted that day, 66 million were mine.  My scrypt payout finally came - but nothing for sha256

stuck on block 6365?

My Client is stuck at block 6365 aswell..

I got 14 coins stuck there atm, I wanted to join in on the Bittrex exchange fun last night. But even now, 16 hours later, I am looking at 0/6 confirmations Sad

Slow mining until POS fork. Hardly stuck when that is the current block

Any idea on when the POS fork will occur?
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LAT] LATIUM - World's First Viral CryptoCurrency on: July 23, 2014, 07:55:32 AM
Why are my commissions disappearing?  Started out with around 150 LAT approved, but the number keeps going down.  LAT paid is zero and I don't have any in my wallet.

I will get back to working and manging the pool when HOPE ends on Sunday.  I will start processing payouts then.  I am sorry for making all of you wait.  But I am sure that some of the stuff I am learning about this weekend I will be able to use in making the pool run better.
There is $40 worth of buys holding up the *entire* MMXIV market right now . . . need some activity, badly!

Looks like a lot more than that to me...

Thanks to a couple people, yes it is now Cool

Hopefully the volume spike today is at least in part to the pool finally performing some trades?  ThePeePs, you reading this?  Wink
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FuelCoin - Charity Project on: July 22, 2014, 06:33:55 PM
well it is not reducing the total supply just affecting how mining it occurs. the dev wants people to be able to mine this coin for a long time. and wants this coin to be long term. i beleive it is also a drastic change. i suggested the block time be switched to 60 seconds to help with larger miners working on stale work. the block reward im not sure how keen i am on it.

Well, these changes will definitely make mining last awhile - probably 60 years or more.  Kindof ridiculous in my opinion, no one can even begin to predict what the crypto-currency world might be like 3 years from now, let alone over half a century.  Just think - 60 years ago from today we didn't even have color TV.

The existing block reward of 1,000 coins is a reasonable length of time, with roughly 1,388 days of mining (almost 4 years).  Implement some block halving intervals in there and you could easily stretch it out.

As I said earlier, I have seen others use this strategy in an attempt to inflate the price.  It sounds logical that reducing the mining rewards will eliminate alot of mine-and-dumping, which is often blamed for a drop in price.  In reality, what causes the price to drop isn't miners dumping, but a lack of confidence in the coin in general, which equates to a lack of buyers.  Miners won't dump if they are confident the price will go up.

Such a drastic reduction in mining rewards, and increased block time (and therefore slower transaction confirmation times) will be hurtful to the value of this coin.  The network will slow to a crawl when the new block reward is put in place - no one is going to mine this coin for 1/20th of the value they are getting now, unless of course the price goes up by 20x to compensate (unlikely, without other efforts than the new code base).  Just my humble opinion.

It's pretty obvious that one or more miners are dumping their coins every hour, every day. These miners don't care about what is coming for the coin to sell at such low prices. Reducing block reward will stop that.

Dumpers gonna dump, that is to be expected.  But I can confidently tell you at least 30-50% of the coins being mined each day are not being dumped, because those are being mined by me.

Reducing supply does not automagically increase demand; the only way to raise the market price is to increase the number of coins being bought.  As I said, I have seen this "block reward reduction" strategy attempted on a number of coins, it almost never works, unless it is paired with other aggressive measures to help increase awareness and community confidence.

Status?  I'm about to give up on this, been mining for 12 days now with no payout.  I am a patient person but this is getting ridiculous.

My best guess, you probably have 0.3 BTC or more just from my hashrate alone pointed at this pool for the past 12 days.  Do what you're supposed to do and use that BTC to buy MMXIV and get the price back up.
