401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoind version "Perone:0.0.1" on: July 26, 2014, 12:57:36 AM
Well 0.0.1 makes me think it is someone doing some alpha development (and obviously doesn't have it correct).  Rather rude to be doing it on the main net though.

Heh, just did a google search and found:

https://github.com/perone/protocoin/blob/master/protocoin/serializers.py

Some altcoin, I guess.

Anyone know what this is?

Whenever one tries to connect to me I get this:

403  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [HELP] tips tricks in mining coin on: July 24, 2014, 11:04:33 PM
I am still a newbie in the world of mining Smiley

anyone want to explain? tips tricks how to mine?

suppose that the new coins, and the number of coins issued by its dev and other factors ??
A newbie with 278 posts?  wtf...

You don't need to know how to mine unless you want to treat it as an expensive hobby.  Companies will sell ASICs when profit is greater from that than from mining.

You could possibly turn a small profit, but the majority of that wouldn't be from the mining...  it'd be because you found some sap to buy it off you used for nearly what you paid for it.
404  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [600 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: July 24, 2014, 10:53:11 PM
Higher p2pool hash rate will decrease variance for larger miners since they'll always have shares & blocks will come more often.  It'll increase variance for small miners, I really have no clue what that is nowadays, maybe 100ghash?... because sometimes you will have no shares, even if blocks are being found.

I always liked to gamble though, anyway.

You really don't know whose hashrate that ist? It's easy: GHash.IO and/or CEX.io!  Smiley
Why do you think their percentage of the network went down? Miners leaving? Nah! I believe they just relocated that hashrate to another address!
Hell, I think they've been obfuscating their blocks since the beginning of this year if not earlier. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out the mass panic that would ensue if that "magical" 51% barrier is passed... Since ghash.io is making so much easy money off of their own ASICs as well as renting out all the mining power they can to suckers (even more profitable!) they wouldn't have much incentive to mess with the network, I'd think.  Much better to just hide some blocks.
406  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about post quality for PRIMEDICE signature campaign. on: July 24, 2014, 02:57:25 PM
I will go from the start and check, on the end of link i will add (in my opinion) if they are spammers and about how much i think its non constructive posts.
Anybody who does the same would be good to post so we see couple of opinions on post quality .

I will edit this post as i go .

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=335459 - OK , if he removed 15-20 posts as non constructive.

Cool post.  Can't believe someone took the time to look thru all of those.

Anyway, as I recall I had something like ~180 posts and only put 103 as constructive.

For pd3 we will have affiliate links in ours sig so we and he will know about ho effective this campaign is .

Yah, I've been wanting a referral link.  Affiliate is even better, I guess.  I post on a bunch of forums where there'd probably be some interest...

Tnx

Just one thing u may change ur signature to one from this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291387.msg3119391#msg3119391 for hero member. U are using old sig.

I asked Stunna if it was alright (since I never got an email) and he said it was.... more variety?   I'll change it over sometime today (10am = bedtime, jaja).
407  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] VPS which can make $50+ every month on: July 24, 2014, 02:34:21 PM
Hello,
Wait and how i will make 50+$ per month? I dont get it.
Please can you make a clear explanation?
Thanks!
Gondel

you can make more then $50+ every month if you know Bing rewards.

I'd imagine most people's time is worth far more than the $50 you can make off of Bing rewards in a month.

For the record, wable.com has VPS for 75 cents a month & it can be moved at will between Dallas, New York, & Seattle.

409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Node problem on: July 24, 2014, 02:01:49 PM
As I said in my previous post, you will need to update that path to reflect the actual location of the script.
I done it, but still I have got this error

There's no way you'd get a 'file not found' if you actually put in the correct location of the file.

LOL, just noticed this was from 3 days ago.  I guess it's working now or you gave up, eh?

411  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: P2Pool Server List on: July 17, 2014, 11:24:06 PM
We just launched a new super node, USA.

100% SSD Drives
RAID 10 redundancy
Many interconnects (low latency)
Backup power
Improved (under development) front-end

http://minefast.coincadence.com

you pay amazon EC2 to run that?

what makes it a super node?   is it the 32core machine?  and you're paying regular instance price for it?  *shiver*
412  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Benchmark [P2Pool vs btcGuild vs Eligius] on: July 17, 2014, 11:13:11 PM
Thank you for running and sharing this benchmark semaster.

Are you including the donations made to p2pool miners in your numbers, or only generation transactions?

Again, thanks, really great to see this!
donation amount is to the developer and you can modify that setting.    p2pool does give an extra... .5%? or something like that to the block solver, but over time that'd average out...
413  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: July 17, 2014, 06:38:33 PM
Please confirm am I in or not.
I have filled the form but I just want to be sure.
Starting posts: 64

If you filled the "Enroll" section and press send ignoring the 2nd zone "Collecting payment" everything is fine!

@Stunna usually update this post with the enrolled users:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291387.msg7421598#msg7421598 (Save this link haha)

 Wink

I guess maybe it doesn't put you there til you get your first payment.  I mean, I had a link to my p2pool on my sig for the first month (didn't get 50 posts), but I cleared that beforehand.

re: the guy about "giving away bitcoins".  to some extent, I think that's true.  for this board, that is.  it's saturated.

If there was a referral link, I'd use it on my posts on a few other boards, one big one being webhostingtalk.  because there's so many, this sig on the bitcoin board may get very few (maybe some from ppl doing google searches and having one of my posts pop up, lol)..   positive it'd get more elsewhere, esp with the increasing interest with bitcoin, and with US anti-gambling laws

(and before someone says something about the old sig, I also did a PM about that)

415  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: July 17, 2014, 04:10:21 AM
Statement Regarding 51% Threat

Considering Bitcoin protocol operation and situation within the mining processes, GHash.IO, as the leading mining pool, would like to make a voluntary statement.

Based on the closed round table discussion, which took place on July 9th in London, GHash.IO states that it will not exceed more than 39.99% of the overall Bitcoin hashrate. If GHash.IO approaches the respective border, it will be actively asking miners to take their hardware away from GHash.IO and mine on other pools

None of the existing technical solutions against the 51% attack threat is able to solve the problem in a long-term perspective, taking into account interests of existing mining pools, individual miners and Bitcoin community. Thus, Bitcoin adherents should focus on temporary acts until the lifetime solution is found.

To make sure the respective solution appears in the nearest future, GHash.IO and CEX.IO are initiating a committee, which will consist of major Bitcoin market players, mining pools and other voluntary Bitcoin companies, with the purpose of accelerating and motivating developers to find a technical solution for the 51% threat by accumulating funds and directing them to this process. An original policy document, which describes operational processes of the committee, will be presented shortly. The committee will drive closer communication and cooperation between developers working on the Bitcoin protocol and solving the 51% issue, and businesses, highly interested in expanding the industry, and promote Bitcoin to a broader audience.

With this statement, we invite other mining pools to become more transparent to the community, issue similar statements from their sides and declare that they won’t overcome 39.99% of the Bitcoin hashrate as well. We believe that mining pools should support the statement, since any of them can possibly take leading positions and appear on GHash.IO place.

We also do encourage Bitcoin market players to join the upcoming committee, assist in supporting Bitcoin developers, actively participate in the Bitcoin community, become ultimately transparent, join forces for developing Bitcoin and promote cryptocurrency to the world.

Our statement is available to view on our blog: http://blog.cex.io/official-statement-on-51-threat-and-closed-round-table/

A summary from the round table discussion can be viewed and downloaded here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/234153249/CoinSummit-Bitcoin-Meeting

The technical solution would just be more companies making ASICs for bitcoin?  Isn't the problem here that your company is churning out so many and using them to mine?  Sure, some individuals mines at your pool, but that's some small bit of your total hashing power.

I'll gladly take some of those ASICs off your hands if you sell them to me for cost + shipping + a 50% margin (instead of something like 2000% on those horrible USBs)

I'm pretty sure Heros start at .5BTC. But then again, I'm not wrapped in the selling account scene.

sold accounts should get banned.   Undecided

though i'm not one to miss an opportunity, if someone were to offer me enough moneys.  i am all about more jobs and less penis.
417  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Amazon AWS $100 credit now for $25 paypal on: July 17, 2014, 03:56:18 AM
Do you need a credit card to sign up for AWS?
You do but you can use an entro pay or probably any other vcc with just $1 on it.

stuff like that is hard to get from US, cant even use neteller.

if you set me up an account and then gave me pw, with the $100 credit (+$1 on some vcc), then I'd be interested

if you set me up a second account, then i could use my extra code too, jaja
418  Economy / Digital goods / Bioshock I & Bioshock II on: July 17, 2014, 03:51:58 AM
So, lots of people are probably aware of the very nice Humble Bundle @ https://www.humblebundle.com/ ... but it costs a whole $8.17 (it used to be $8.10!11) to unlock Bioshock II.

So does anyone want to buy these off of me for $5?  I can include Mafia II, The Bureau: Xcom Declassified, and The Darkness II as well...  so, those 5 games for $5.  All you miss is the Xcom complete pack and Spec Ops: The Line (gave that to a friend to make sure this lame humble bundle link works properly).
419  Economy / Services / Re: klee's hacked 1170 btc, Part II on: July 17, 2014, 03:31:33 AM
The fear of being caught is definitely there for the thief. A HUGE amount of btc was stolen, so morals are out the window. The 462 btc being returned is not out of good faith but rather the fear being caught. Otherwise, one of the condition wouldn't have been to lock the original thread. He probably already knows of the evidence that has been left behind.
I doubt the hacker knew just how much he was going to be able to get away with when he got the credentials to klees wallet, I think he really just got lucky and is probably not very good a "covering his tracks"

I think that the hacker really doesn't know how much evidence was left behind and decided to return part of the coins to be a little more certain that he would not be caught.

The hacker is a noob one and probably stupid, he just got lucky, the groups of hackers who hack exchanges dont "negotiate".

So we have an advantage here
Probably a dropbox employee, lol.

Why would he give anything back?  Unless he was giving the whole amount back minus the bounty, which would actually make some sense..  re; you offered this reward, i am giving it all back now minus the reward, be more careful in the future, best of luck, thanks for all the chips

I used ending point of 4055 which means I gave 5 posts away. for the crossover from 7-16 to 7-17

I did over 500 and asked for 400
I claimed 102 out of about 180
