401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Gang uses crypto for illegal purposes on: November 15, 2020, 02:55:16 PM
Why will anyone government blame this on gambling platforms? Without this gambling of a thing, can't anyone from china launder money from the country(are there not VIPs who do this on daily bases)?. There are series of money laundering in china through cryptocurrency, so, why making things complicated for true gamblers in the land?, i believe it's a conspiracy against casinos owners; both the traditional and the online base platforms owners.
402  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payments Provider BitPay Rolls Out Cryptocurrency Payroll Service on: November 15, 2020, 02:21:14 PM
The 1% fee charge for the transaction is my attraction point for their service and no foreign fee inclusiveness irrespective of the companies or individual locations.
The 1% fee is too high for me, people sending millions of dollars will see it high. I can pay as less as possible while using my noncustodial wallets.
Yes, as individual the fee will be an issue, but not as a company, even in our traditional settings Banks do charge for salary payments. Check-off-dues from my place of work is always in millions to State Chapters accounts, and these Banks do charged hell out of us, but they must make their gains right?, so, also will any company taking their payment into the Crypto-world. Things will normalize bruh......they will definitely do.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin whale clusters show ‘institutional FOMO’ is behind the BTC rally on: November 14, 2020, 10:12:46 AM
<snip>
I will pity those of them who are still waiting for more time before getting into the system, we all saw late entries in 2017 and their rewards, it's likely to happen again.
There are many who are still waiting to but bitcoin for the first time. For them BTC is too expensive now at 16k USD, but when it reaches 25-30k USD then they will see it as a good opportunity, that's how it goes, and I've seen it from my friends....
And more reason why your friends find it difficult to blend with the system. My point is: If you don't buy now; don't buy when it hit another All-Time-High because the system is likely to rebounce back IMHV, well, let see how things roll-out in the next few weeks.

Don't get a loan to purchase bitcoin when it hit $20k this year(2020), now is the time to buy with loan and not tomorrow. Although, those with the mindset to hold for a long-term can do.

This is horrible advice and I really hope no one listens to you..... <snip>
Grin Not as horrible as you think, few week ago a family friend gat some loan (not my advise) to invest into Bitcoin and successfully pulled out some handsome profits; there's profit in risk management(imagine "A" collected a loan equivalent to 1-bitcoin some weeks ago when the price of bitcoin was $14k, he could have made some good profit). Life is all about risk and anyone without this mindset is likely to find success.

I won't suggest anyone push into Bitcoin funds(either self own or loan) when the price of bitcoin hit $20k by month end.
404  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payments Provider BitPay Rolls Out Cryptocurrency Payroll Service on: November 14, 2020, 09:05:36 AM
The 1% fee charge for the transaction is my attraction point for their service and no foreign fee inclusiveness irrespective of the companies or individual locations. This is a welcome development, after some years of sluggish mode they (BitPay payment company) finally absolved the segregated witness (SegWit) which give advantage of a more cheaper transaction fee compare to the Legacy wallets. I think we are gradually approaching that moment when various merchants and vendors without this payment method see themselves retrogressing.
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin whale clusters show ‘institutional FOMO’ is behind the BTC rally on: November 14, 2020, 08:19:23 AM
Yes, that seems to be the case. Especially because most institutions aren't planning to trade, at least in the shor-term. They buy bitcon as a reserve asset that protects against inflation and they are not so likely to get scared and sell out of a panick attack if the price falls.
But we should be mindful of their tactics, we all saw what happened in 2017 and this might be a replicate of it, so, let be more smart this time not to fall victim of the last man standing with ATH Purchase. They are pushing to another ATH before sell-off their accumulations to leave smaller institutions and individual buyers stranded (Hope you remember the year 2018 and 2019 experiences?).
Quote
Moreover, wait to see what happens when the masses start searching for bitcoin massively in google, like it happened in 2017. The price is going to the moon. I suppose this will happen when we reach an ATH again and it appears in the news. We'll see our hairdresser taking a loan to buy bitcoin.
I will pity those of them who are still waiting for more time before getting into the system, we all saw late entries in 2017 and their rewards, it's likely to happen again. Don't get a loan to purchase bitcoin when it hit $20k this year(2020), now is the time to buy with loan and not tomorrow. Although, those with the mindset to hold for a long-term can do.
406  Other / Archival / Re: Pay for Your Passport with Bitcoin on: November 14, 2020, 07:50:34 AM
Maybe we're heading to a global adoption soon, early this year good stories started flowing into the industry and shortly before the ease of the knockdown(during the slow down of the virus) the PayPal news surfaced and withing some few weeks US passport can be obtained with bitcoin, what a wonderful year is 2020, a year to remember, no wonder is a unique year. Satoshi N was and still a living legend for this invention that's bringing the world into a freedomnomic state, hope to see more merchants and vendors accepting this Bitcoin as payment method.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees are now low.. take advantage of bech32 full segwit and save on: November 14, 2020, 07:32:14 AM
Why big exchanges as binance still dont support segwit?
I think they're selfish and malicious in this regard, Binance exchnage is a big crypto platform and should understand stuffs like this and do the needful. Upgrade00 shared a link of recent interview with Binance CEO and his replies wasn't encouraging; as they won't implement this soon, but,  let be sincere, this exchange is big and not ready soon to implement this: interpret one thing to me as malicious.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers forced into unpaid leave on: November 12, 2020, 01:21:24 PM
I don't know how did the workers take this but for me, I think the company or the casino owners have it rough too. I think they didn't just do that or decide on that unless they are in a slump since we are in a pandemic. We all have it rough and there are a lot of people here too experiencing the same, not just in casinos but in other jobs as well. But right now that we already have a working vaccine, we just need to wait.
Vaculin has raised a good point and i concur with him on this. There should be times the employees understand the employers, this gat to show that the pandemic has affected the ways we operated in the past. Yes, such as this hasn't been seen or happened to these employees before now, but the advent of the pandemic brought about this new happenings and should be understood. The said casino has suffered hugely in the hand of the virus, and for the safety of the employees and the business they made such ambiguous changes which should be embrace by all (though it hurt). Basically, they will be call back when the pandemic gat an vaccine.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling = just for fun or an investment method? on: November 12, 2020, 12:50:53 PM
gambling to me is purely for the profits and how to win my bet to maximize my investment, but again I know gambling in most cases does not have any thing to do with luck rather it has lots to do with high level of expertise.
Not gambling in real sense is purely for profit, becasue we all struggle to win games; the last time i checked. Gambling shouldn't be seen as profit taking zones because is a base luck industry, this has ruined millions of gamblers in this industry, How long have you been maximizing your gambling profits?. Gambling is all about luck and not in most cases as you have claimed: when talk about winnings in gambling then luck is paramount.
410  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: can you rate trust wallet? on: November 12, 2020, 11:28:23 AM
is it safe for me to store my coins in trust wallet or i should let it in savings account in binance?
Trust Wallet doesn't belong to my liken compare to other non-custodian, but they(Trust Wallet) is owned by one of the best exchnage in this industry. Although, it's better to store your holdings in Trust Wallet than to store them in Binance exchnage, there are higher risk in holding coins on Binance exchnage than Trust Wallet. Personally, i don't have much stash on the said Wallet but little of-course becasue of some advantage.

412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Public perception of Bitcoin as payment method (survey) on: November 11, 2020, 02:36:12 PM
I think it will be nice to post your questions here so we can reply thank clicking on a link that may not be secure.
Things are not done in such manners on this forum, series of surveys has been made in the past and this is how they have been made so far. But, such as this is optional and not compulsory for everyone. In the past, most of the surveys i participated did paid some few sats to participants but that doesn't mean without it survey won't get done honestly.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know the difference between Bitcoin and bitcoin? on: November 11, 2020, 02:19:20 PM
There are misconceptions about Bitcoin and bitcoin but the beauty of this is; forum members don't care about this grammatical errors around the forum but reading with best understanding. If i can recall currently, there was such thread in the past that got my ass fixed with these two. Bitcoin--- The name of the technology and bitcoin---- the currency; to my understanding. Sincerely, thousands of network users do used these words interchangeably both lower ranks and higher ranks  Cheesy.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 11, 2020, 01:53:32 PM
I believe that most of us are losing money in sports betting, but I'd like to know based on what you read and your experience (if you have) the reasons why we are losing. Personally, I've been gambling for years, I'm just an ordinary gambler who can't be too serious with gambling, but I can't deny that I have been losing money more than I win.
Share some tips to win or to minimize losing?
_____
This thread is open for the winners and losers.
We loss, because the players always think that He will win the bet on the next round. Then, sometimes there are other gamblers lose their money because of greediness, that's why I think this bad habit will always be part of the game in the gambling site.
Not all gambler do think as such, most especially those with self control. Though everyone in this industry want to win games, but not all went into the games solely becasue of the wins. Sometimes they lose due to their lacks in self control, remember that not all days of play(gamble) will bring you win as a gambler, but many gamblers thought otherwise which somehow lands them into losing. Betting and come back again doesn't make gamblers lose but self control does more havoc's.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How long until we can bet with bitcoin in real life casinos? on: November 11, 2020, 10:56:13 AM
There are couple of things we should put in consideration in this industry before talking about this, some of which is: Bitcoin transactions, Bitcoin acceptability and Bitcoin fee. Betting Bitcoin on a real life casinos here are issues at this moment becasue of the aforementioned. How fast is Bitcoin transaction compare to other payment methods?, how is Bitcoin acceptability among real life casinos in your country? and the high fees in respect to Bitcoin is sometime unimaginable...these won't make the real life casinos adopt the use of Bitcoin IMHO.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers forced into unpaid leave on: November 11, 2020, 10:28:23 AM
It just reflect how bad the situation in Macau, the gambling capital of the world, they heavily rely on gambling, take this away from this country and they will looked like a third world country, the management I guess have no option, they also need to survive, and since the salary is a main concern they have to cut the cost and the victims are their employees, if workers have other option then they should look for other opportunities like what the 8% did.
This is the result we get from the pandemic, although the situation at macau is not gearing and probably need urgent attention from the concern body. This action was taken becasue of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMPy1Fro4Z4, this should be the best option anyone can take when it come to corona-virus, those countries without necessary precautions where those countries seriously heat by this virus, so, the actions from the concerns body is a welcome development and should be applauded.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 08, 2020, 02:41:52 PM

This bet will definitely hurt the bettor no matter how others justified him of be a rich individual, some said he's a former Banker but that doesn't give him the impetus to squandered a huge sum of money on election which can easily be manipulated to favor the cabals. Okay, he(the bettor) just lost $5M to this bet, and maybe his family members don't relate or even not be part of any political party in the residing country or even home country, IMO, this's arrant foolishness and not FUN or ENTERTAINMENT.

Losing in gambling will be at every people, not caring if he is a banker or another big government position. Once that person loses his money, he just loses it and he will not have a big chance to recover the losses. But maybe many people who are playing gambling will not understand that because once they can get fun gambling, they can forget about everything and stay at the gambling games for a long time.
I admit people do lose their bets during games, but the question is: how much do they actually lose compare to this gambler living in England?. I repeat; this is not fun nor entertainment we do refer to on this platform becasue the sum is higher than just make fun from. A whooping $5M just disappeared from an addict gambler living in England, i deeply regret his actions.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lets imagine world without fiat currency on: November 08, 2020, 02:21:57 PM
There was a world without the fiats currency and that generation was used to the market exchanged. They used the golds and silvers for products and services, the world moved from these errands to the world of fiats currency which we're part. Bitcoin as a digital currency will take over from the fiats currency because the WCB is making some move that will empower every sovereign nation to have it own digital currency. When this happen, the world will trade in Bitcoin and other digital currencies like we have done  to gold, silver and fiats.
419  Other / Archival / Re: 1 Hour = 1 New Bitcoin-ATM on: November 08, 2020, 02:06:36 PM
That's impressive, but am yet to see the candid usage of this Bitcoin ATM machines becasue of their fees which look much bigger than the regular fees from exchanges. Also, most have compulsory KYC before make some purchase in their platform, which is against the ethics of Bitcoin as a technology, although, some have already given up their identities for penurts. We're yet to see one in Abuja FCT Nigeria.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 08, 2020, 01:39:00 PM
The results are officially out and Biden is the winner. I pity for the person who just went crazy by betting the 5M on trump and after the news confirmation about it he would be really feeling sad about it. Though he would be very rich so he can bet 5M just on betting but surely it would hurt him for some time atleast.
Are you sure he went crazy with that bet? Maybe it was a well planned bet, and since there's no assurance about the result, we call it a losing bet, but who knows this person is still a winner despite of the lose, you know in gambling, we win some and we lose some, what matters is to be profitable in the end.
This was not planned at all, I guess, the gambler is really rich and tried to bet this just for fun and all as he sees the accumulated bet that leans towards Biden. I also disagree that he may be a winner, cause he definitely loses at this one, and non-other bets regarding this person had been said. But in overall, yeah, the person will not go crazy for this kind, as an assumption that he is very rich, and just having this for fun and games.
