401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we improve our country by Bitcoin? on: August 15, 2023, 09:33:44 AM

Good to know that someone took the time to research whether the post is coming from an AI platform or can just be copied somewhere. I assume that the policy of BTT means that anything coming from ChatGPT should be categorized as plagiarism and is never allowed in this forum. Anyway, on the topic, we can all see how Bitcoin is helping the country of El Salvador as the first country to adopt Bitcoin on a nationwide scale.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is centralized, will other cryptocurrencys survive ?. on: August 15, 2023, 09:25:53 AM

Decentralization is at the core of the existence of Bitcoin, hence all altcoins claiming to be on the same boat are judged according to the standard set by Bitcoin. Making BTC centralized means killing a big part of it since there can be less of the trust and confidence it is enjoying right now...therefore this can be affecting the whole crypto industry though I don't it will totally kill everything...just based on the word "altcoins" meaning they are supposed to be the alternative and they can act one if Bitcoin can fail. Having said that, I don't think this can be happening at least in the near-future.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins profits or bank profits, which best? on: August 14, 2023, 02:43:06 AM

The accepted paradigm is that the higher the risks the higher is the reward. So in case anyone is looking for safer investment options then he should not be expecting high ROI but then you can be sure that your capital will not just go away in an instant like magic. On other end, we can see the big potential of cryptocurrency - most especially trading - to be creating a daily ROI which can surpass one can get somewhere else most especially established financial institutions. We must always remember though that one has to learn and one has to pay the "tuition" here before one can be called as a professional trader.
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin obsession! on: August 14, 2023, 02:17:55 AM
I believe there are many levels of obsession and at a certain point when we are very much aware of what we are doing and can still be in control of things then it may never be harmful. Having some faith on something that we know is a game-changer in many aspects and being a part of its adoption and dissemination is very much alright with me. Maybe not being to sleep well thinking what can happen with BTC the day after is something that I discourage as it is not anymore normal. The key here is normalcy...beyond that is something that one must be addressing squarely. For example, it one's love with Bitcoin is already interfering with your marital life then it is time to talk to your wife and transfer your BTC to her as soon as possible as she can be a better manager of your holding - just kidding.

405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending Money From a Debit Card to a Bitcoin Address on: August 14, 2023, 02:07:20 AM

In case am getting it right, you mean if there is already a possibility of easily sending money from your debit card to a BTC or crypto address. Now, if that is the case, then it is not yet possible...as of now. I am hoping though that since Visa and Mastercard are also interested - and actually starting to enter the crypto industry - then this feature can be enjoyed by us in the near future. PayPal should also be looking into this option since it is already now adding crypto into its business. That would make things seamless and really convenient. In addition, it would be so good if instead of that long crypto address which can be confusing sometimes and can be a cause of error, we can send crypto via an email address - and on this matter there are now testing this possibility. We need and we must improve on many things in the transfer of money so more and more people will be delighted to be using Bitcoin and altcoins as well.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Appeal may take away XRP recent gains. Here is why on: August 13, 2023, 02:52:50 AM

I am seeing that XRP is gradually losing the grounds it was able to gained from that last court decision on the case filed by SEC against the platform. Surely, there is now a brewing pressures for the price to further go down...pending the final decision on this legal drama. Now, am confident that eventual XRP can be able to win on this one judging by the way the court is treating the case. Let's hope that this can be the first of the many rebukes that SEC under Gary Gensler really deserves to experience.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Presidential candidate announces plan to back the US dollar with Bitcoin on: August 13, 2023, 02:08:07 AM
As much as I admire the many innovative ideas coming from the campaign mouth of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., I think am making an exception on this one. I do like the fact that he seems to be very friendly to the crypto industry and is fact accepting donations to his run via crypto assets but backing the USA Dollar with Bitcoin is not something that can help the currency...that is for now. The reason: Volatility.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN: Give people time! on: August 13, 2023, 01:43:04 AM

Many good things in life can really take time to spread and be popular...and I think the same thing is true with Bitcoin. People will not just go on board most especially if it involves them shelling out some hard-earned money from their own pockets. Of course, maybe if you are just airdropping some amount of BTC to their wallets then the picture can be different...just like what we saw in El Salvador. When we talk to people especially those who are close to us, it is important that we present the facts especially the possible rewards and corresponding risks involved...and we should always tell them to make their own research or due diligence before contemplating on converting their money to BTC. I am happy to see that you have done your own assignment well.
409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Chase to control the market! on: August 12, 2023, 03:39:22 AM

There is no question that today Bitcoin has already come of age with the many recognitions it is getting. There are now many famous personalities who in the past called Bitcoin as something undesirable but they are now singing praises of it. As to financial institutions making their entrance into Bitcoin, well maybe they finally realized that Bitcoin is something that can not be stopped so why not be a part of its supporters and be making some good money of it? And this is just the beginning for sure as we are still in the second decade of Bitcoin, for sure many astonishing developments can be coming in 2024 and beyond. The question is: How many BTC are you holding?
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HOW DO WE TRANSFER BITCOIN WEALTH TO HEIRS AND THE NEXT GENERATION on: August 12, 2023, 03:16:52 AM
Quote

Sometimes, human beings can just feel biased and do otherwise when the willer has passed on. I remember a movie where a rich man willed his property to his children, but after the man passed away, the wife connived with the law and made the lawyer have some properties willed to her, and the lawyer also took some shares in the property. Some people can be trusted, but In your absence, they can just go against your will.

For sure, human nature is always at play with everything including the execution of will from someone who is now gone to the other life. It would be a travesty of justice if there can be a connivance from the people trusted to do what is right, maybe thinking that since nobody can be checking them anyway then they can do anything that is harmful to the right beneficiaries. That is why it would be so critical to trust people that are really worthy of your trust so that even if you are dead you can be sure that you are not stabbed in the back.
411  Other / Archival / Re: [A Bit of History] The most generous airdrop in the crypto history on: August 12, 2023, 03:03:53 AM

For testing bitcoin transactions in 2009, testers were paid 25 BTC. At the moment it is more than $700,000, and 2 years ago this airdrop cost more than $1,500,000.

The more I study bitcoin, the more I understand that it is a record holder in everything and not a single altcoin even comes close to its values. Do not sell your valuable coins. HODL!!!

Wow, getting 25 BTC and holding them until now can certainly be making someone really rich, enough to change someone's financial life for the better most especially if one is based in a developing country like mine. I never knew Bitcoin until around 2013 so I am already late in this opportunity. I also remember those days when Bitcoin faucets were then giving away up to 5 BTCs but then again because I got weak hands I would not probably be not holding them until now.
412  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big SEC Decision on Bitcoin ETFs: What's Your Price Prediction? on: August 12, 2023, 02:59:09 AM

I agree with the consensus in this forum that in reality BTC-ETF is not actually a big development for Bitcoin but since we are living in the real world where market sentiments are always a force so maybe in case of an approval there can be a big push for the price of BTC but I am sure this is just going to be short-lived. Now, in case, the opposite can happen - SEC delaying or rejecting the application - that will not have a negative effect on BTC as we know that the crypto industry already knows how erratic is SEC these days on matters related to crypto in general. With Gary Gensler around, it would be a big miracle for an ETF to be approved but then who knows what can be?

415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Binance indirectly manipulative by promoting Tokens? on: August 11, 2023, 01:15:14 AM

This is just marketing and  a way for Binance to be doing business...now as to the question whether this can be manipulation well that is a huge thing to prove or disprove. Binance is a business entity and has to be making good profits all the time otherwise it would stop and file for bankruptcy. What it is doing is promotion and in our commercialized world promotions are found everywhere including the crypto industry. In case, a project promoted under the Binance platform can go down under then the responsibility is with the people behind the project and we can then ask Binance to vet well next time. I don't equate promoting to manipulation because right now we should be intelligent enough and maybe even experienced enough to determine which of the crypto assets - new or old - we should be supporting for and also make some profits from.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin F*cking ETF on: August 11, 2023, 12:55:04 AM

I believe that we don't need that ETF approval much to push up the market value of Bitcoin as I always prefer that movements should be coming from retail investors and not from big financial firms that can be here just for profits. However, there is no question that an ETF can surely open up more avenues for the whole cryptocurrency industry as this can be a big vote of confidence and can signify that BTC has come of age. In summary, I have a 50-50 optimism for ETF though of course I would not mind much if Blackrock can use its influence for its approval if not this year then eventually.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is centralized, will it still have value ? on: August 11, 2023, 12:45:17 AM

Being decentralized is something that define a lot for Bitcoin and in case this can be not true anymore then of course its value will plummet. Being decentralized means that nobody can be able to control Bitcoin no matter if big financial institutions or money individuals can be also investing into Bitcoin. Being decentralized, no government entity can be able to maneuvered Bitcoin according to its interest...and that is why many people think that Bitcoin is eventually unstoppable. And this decentralized standard is the gauge when we talk of other crypto-based platforms.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC asked Coinbase to halt trading in everything except BITCOIN, CEO says on: August 10, 2023, 04:50:54 AM

I am just wondering if Coinbase has already complied with this order from the high and mighty SEC under Gary Gensler, the man obviously on the path to destroy all cryptocurrencies with the exemption of Bitcoin. Personally, this is a big mistake on the part of SEC as it is calling all cryptos a blanket definition and categorization without first looking at each one with cooperative eyes. Surely, Coinbase will not just standby and meekly follow what SEC thinks and we can be seeing a grand battle royale soon or we can see Coinbase starting to pack its things and head on to other lucrative markets abroad.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Crypto Execs Confident SEC Will Approve Spot Bitcoin ETFs on: August 10, 2023, 03:55:05 AM

I am sure that currently the pervasive thinking in SEC is to reject any ETF application as the agency is not really excited with it and it is looking at the whole crypto industry with a lot of disdain - in other words, SEC is not willing to work with the crypto industry so why bother approving an ETF? Now, having said that, let's see the kind of influence that Blackrock within the agency as we know how huge this outfit is and I know that they got enough connections everywhere that can push or pressure SEC to say yes finally. We are all waiting for its approval or eventual demise in the process...and somehow this can be influencing the movement of BTC in the market.
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine creating something revolutionary and just leaving lol on: August 10, 2023, 03:44:42 AM

The many stories, speculations and even myths surrounding the life and eventual disappearance of Satoshi Nakamoto - well, no one can even be sure if this is his real name - all contributed to the attractiveness and mystique of Bitcoin. There is no other cryptocurrency like Bitcoin and there has never been a founder with almost the same backdrop...only Satoshi got it and he left us with a legacy that will go on 'forever" or maybe until humanity remains to be viable on this planet. Right now, no one can be sure if the man is still alive or if he was already 6 feet below the ground...and it would be a BIG news if one day he would resurfaced and moved one of his many cache of BTC.
