401  Other / Meta / Re: Account locked on: December 06, 2017, 12:54:54 PM
Hello, my email was hacked and someone changed the last month email and password from my account yesterday, I was able to lock the account with the link sended to my email, what should I do now to get back my account ?
My account "apoorvlathey" was hacked just a few months back, so I can guide you.
The process is easy, but you just have to have some patience.
I created a temporary account and sent a pm to Cyrus according to this post : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0
He replied within a week and I got back my account after another week.

405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin First Billionaire: Winklevoss Twins on: December 04, 2017, 08:12:58 PM
I guess Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, would be having more bitcoins in his wallets, if his private keys are kept safe after all these years.
Btw, Winklevoss Twins as a team can be said billionaires but individually they are just Millionaires !
It's great to see such news about bitcoins, which ultimately raises awareness about cryptocurrency amongst the common people too.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Difference Between Bounty And Signature Campaigns on: December 04, 2017, 07:58:25 PM
What's the difference between bounty and sig campaigns??
The Signature Campaigns specifically pay you for your posts provided that you wore the company's bbcode signature and/or avatar.
The Bounty Campaigns, however, is a collective term which along with signature campaign include other forms of marketing like Facebook campaign, Twitter Campaign, Video Campaign, Translations, etc.
Both are used to promote other's services in order to get paid in return from them.
407  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can someone open my wallet by seeing the address on: December 04, 2017, 07:49:29 PM
Hello I'm newbie. I just curious if someone can open my wallet by known my address?

It's safe to post address like this one 172jHZ1o61FUKb2uo1xs231HdV43qBWaKf

Please tell me the risk by posting address

It is safe to post your "Public" address online. But remember to not post your "Private Keys" because they are the keys to your crypto funds.
The only risk by posting addresses like that is that others might get to know how rich you are, which you might not want everyone to know. A simole way is to use new address for each new transaction.

To be able to get access to coins just by knowing the public address would require insane amount of computing power, which is not available currently, to be able to crack before the universe dies !
408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the safest wallet to use? on: December 04, 2017, 07:38:59 PM
Should I just write it on a piece of paper? What do you guys use?
The least secure thing one could imagine is using a piece of paper to save your bitcoins. It could easily get misplaced, torn, or damage in water and other conditions.
If you want a hardware wallet (much secure than paper) ,you could use trezor or ledger.
Personally, I would recommend Electrum, which is a desktop wallet. I would suggest you to encrypt your wallet file and make a secure backup of it somewhere else in case the computer crashes and breaks down.
I don't recommend anyone to save their bitcoins on online wallets like blockchain.info or coinbase or any exchanges, because you have to trust a third person to secure your funds. There is a little possibility of it getting hacked or owners taking away your bitcoins.
There is a simple saying, "If you don't hold the private keys of your bitcoins, then they are NOT YOUR Bitcoins !"
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to transfer other coin to bitcoin? on: December 04, 2017, 07:21:09 PM
I am  new here could you be more explicit about this topic
Most tokens are ERC20 tokens, meaning that they are stored on your Ethereum address.
First you need to send your tokens to exchanges like bittrex, poloniex, hitbtc, etc. (Signup if you haven't)
There you can sell your tokens to Bitcoins or other preferred cryptocurrency, at current market rate.
Withdraw the Btc from the exchange to your own bitcoin wallet.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops info for newbies on: December 04, 2017, 07:15:36 PM
The requirement is there as one method to deter duplicate accounts from signing up to the same airdrop. Imagine someone making 1000's of accounts and requesting the airdrop. By putting an artifical required amount of ETH, this problem is somewhat alleviated. Of course it doesn't do much.. since the scammer can still distribute their ETH over multiple accounts, but it acts as a deterrent and makes the process slightly harder.

Now I understand why they have this requirement but how they can know that I have 0.1 or anything in my wallet? Do I have to transfer coins in order to participate in the Airdrop?

They'll put your address into http://etherscan.io and that will list the balance there.

Now I can understand why it can be dangerous to apply for Airdrops. If they can check the balance of my wallet and have my identity trough my account information in forum, then can be used for phishing /scamming.

You got on the wrong track here ! If you want to receive your cryptocoins, whether it be from some airdrop or some other source, you need to give your address to the other person. And with that addresses anyone can view your balance information. The cryptocoins are not entirely anonymous but pseudo-anonymous.
So, you can apply for airdrops because there would be no threat to your funds stored in your Eth wallet. There's no danger associated, except if the airdrop fails to provide coins, etc.
If you are so scared of being scammed if someone saw your eth balance, then you can create a new address for the sole purpose of receiving airdrop plus that 0.1 Eth required to be eligible. Btw, you should always use a new address for each transaction to increase anonymity.
411  Other / Meta / Too many Errors : 502 and 502 lately on: December 04, 2017, 06:18:17 PM
The forum has become pretty unusable for the past few hours. Each pages takes time to load only to (mostly) meet with cloudflare having an error 502 or 505. Also, there is no live screenshot available by cloudflare as stated in the top banner of those error pages. Maybe the transfer is not yet over ?
Hope this gets posted....

Wow great discovery there ! I always thought if the site owners used its visitors as a way to search for bitcoin addresses with some balance for THEM and it turned out to be true .
BTW, the site : btckey.space is run by Jude Austin(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=105076) , its official thread is : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1005950.100. If your findings are correct, then post on its thread and lets wait for the owners reply.

The altcoins tokens sub-board already has the restriction of deleting posts.
But to reduce scam coins, I am with you and think a minimum activity level should be reached in order to make new ann thread of the coin/token.
416  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [NEW] PAYFLY.me ~ urls shortener count all views !!! on: November 28, 2017, 05:30:30 PM
This is nice idea to implement for a bitcoin project.
I tried your site and I would like to suggest you to use ssl certificate as the website deals with the credentials and money.
I haven't reached the payout threshold yet, so haven't tried withdrawing.
Good luck with your project !

418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Any Dedicated Desktop Wallet for Bitcoin Gold (BTCG) ?? on: November 02, 2017, 06:26:22 PM
I have my BTCG lying but I haven't been able to find any desktop wallet, like electrum, to import my bitcoin private keys into it and access my btcg funds.
I only few ones are on exchanges or online, that offer btcg only if btc was stored in the wallet before fork, but none of which is like electrum.

Some were saying to wait till Nov 1, so can anyone recommend any desktop wallet for btcg ?
419  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk.org Notifications NOT WORKING? on: October 31, 2017, 05:10:06 AM
You would continue receiving the email notifications until you are are active on the particular board.

Here is the quote from the notification emails :

"More topics may be posted, but you won't receive more email notifications until you return to the board and read some of them."
420  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you use a Bitcoin debit card? on: October 28, 2017, 05:57:05 PM
well if that debit card available here in the philippines well i will buy one to safe my bitcoins, bitcoin is the best bank for me so that i will buy some of that if that is available here, but where would that can withdraw?

Soon that will happen.Like a fiat withdrawal ,bitcoin withdrawal will also happen. For that some things should happen.

1.Bitcoin should replace the entire Currency System.
2.Bitcoin bank should be implemented.
3.Like a FIAT,Bitcoin also should be in paper form to withdrawal.

I see you are quite optimistic. What does “soon” for you mean? If it means at least ten years I might agree with you up to a point.

However, I’m not so sure that bitcoin will replace the entire Currency System, I think it will rather co-exist with it.

Bitcoin bank? Do you mean like traditional ones?

Paper form doesn’t sound so strange to me but overall, those statements seem too heavy for me as to state that they will happen soon.

some people are using bitcoin debit card, but in my area bitcoin is very new, still a small number of people are using it, therefore i do not think that in my country any person will be using such card, May be in future when bitcoin will become more popular then we can expect that bitcoin debit card will be available here and The overall fee is more important in comparation with price we pay per plastic card,  because that fees will pay every time we use the card.

You can use your bitcoin card in your country too !
Physical or Virtual Bitcoin cards are just like any other Visa, Mastercard, etc Credit/Debit Cards. You can use your bitcoin cards in all the stores that accept these cards. The only difference in bitcoin cards is that they loaded with cryptocoins instead of fiat, rest all is same.
