One post each two weeks is enough to increase your activity.
402  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: November 10, 2015, 05:37:40 PM
Everyone, including you should invest in Bitcoin. If you invest enough, you'll actually earn some Wink

If you're just starting out, don't be 100% in fiat or 100% in BTC. Always have some backup either way.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Need linux and Mac Clients complied. Bounty in Bitcoin on: November 10, 2015, 12:03:50 PM
I'll compile for Linux.
PM me please Smiley
404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How should I secure my bitcoins? on: November 10, 2015, 11:48:22 AM
If someone hacks into Coinbase, they could steal alot more than 2 thousand dollars. xD

I'd say if you trust yourself:

- Cold Wallet
- Paper Wallet

If you don't trust yourself:

- Bank Vault
- Get a trusted person to hold and keep your Bitcoins safe.

don't do it Smiley
better trust your self and save your money at paperwallet or trezor

anyway im never hear about Bank vault accept to saving bitcoin ?

One would create a paper wallet or something and put it in the bank vault, like a safe deposit box.
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to "wash" your coins on: November 10, 2015, 11:39:34 AM
if using a mixing site, isnt it possible that someone elses "tainted coins" could be sent to you, personally i think exchange might be better.

There is nothing wrong with the tainted coins if you can spend it. The coin from exchanges are also tainted.
Yes true. There are huge amount of coins which are tainted due to robberies or hacks which happened before.

However, companies may reject those kind of coins. For example, Bitpay has allegedly[1] warned the merchant about the blacklisted coins and it makes no sense whatsoever. Almost all the coins are tainted in someway and Bitpay would be marking majority of the legit transactions as a fraud.

[1] https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3mea6b/bitpay_is_blacklisting_certain_bitcoins_rejecting/

I don't get it either... And the more time passes, more and more coins will be tainted somehow.
The exact same thing happens with fiat as well.

I've no experience with those. You should wait for another member to tell you about those.
407  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How should I secure my bitcoins? on: November 08, 2015, 09:33:40 PM
To be secure you should generate a new address and private key with vanitygen. Afterwards you can use a gpg key, or anything that comes to your mind. Here's a python scirpt used for BIP38 encryption: https://github.com/nomorecoin/python-bip38-testing
408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How should I secure my bitcoins? on: November 08, 2015, 09:23:31 PM
Move all your funds to a paper wallet.
You can use a tool like vanitygen to generate your new address and private key safely.

Remember to encrypt your private key as well. You can use BIP38 for easy encryption. Or something else you prefer for encryption.
409  Other / New forum software / Re: Take a look at the development of the new forum software on: November 08, 2015, 08:59:29 PM
The design isn't final.

Exactly.  Styling the forum is one of the easier things to do - and it is usually done last.

Don't worry - the powers that be will not release something ugly and drive people to other forums.

Custom stylesheets and/or Stylish is easy to make and use.
410  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinless blockchains? on: November 08, 2015, 05:27:36 PM
I hear many bitcoin enthusiasts say that creating a blockchain without a monetary token behind it would be pointless, or even impossible. To be honest though, I've never heard an analysis on why that would be. Without evidence presented though, it's hard to figure out if there's actual knowledge supporting such an argument, or a fear of bitcoin being left behind if banks start using blockchain tech without it.

We've already started hearing about big institutions expressing interest in blockchain tech, investing in related enterprises, and even using it. What are your thought on this? And from the technical side of things, what is it that makes a blockchain without bitcoin behind it sound unreasonable?

"Coinless" as a term is not possible with blockchain. But, the blockchain technology can be used without the need for it to be like Bitcoin. There are so many different uses, for example: http://storj.io

What client are you using?

This usually means the BTC you have aren't confirmed yet.
414  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gaming PC Build on: November 08, 2015, 01:37:29 PM
And will that i5 bottleneck the GPU?
I don't think that it will.

SSD is only for the boot of the system you will install everithing on the 1TB magnetic disk
Even if you only save 2 minutes per boot time, and only boot once daily that translated to a lot of saved time. Not to mention every program that you try opening will open faster, also file transfers and whatnot.

Keeping the blockchain on an SSD is pretty cool Wink
415  Other / New forum software / Re: A paid shoutbox on: November 08, 2015, 01:32:53 PM
BCT is run by volunteers ig uess.

A good way to give third parties an extra promotion tool would be a

SMS to XX or pay BTC to XXX and get your message posted in a shoutbox./ newsticker

To keep it professional a min. user level of XXX is required else you get ridiculous (sometimes funny though) shouts.

I'm pretty sure that the moderators and administrators have enough money to get paid for the next 50 years or something from Donators/VIP donations on the past and for Ads auctions now so there is nothing to worry about for that part .
It would be nice to get Shoutbox but it should be free and only allowed to Senior Member and above to prevent some of the spam.

There's the entire freenode IRC you can use for chatting.
Don't you realize the shoutbox would turn to so much spam? Everyone would spam ads or something. It doesn't matter if you put a limit of some sort.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: November 08, 2015, 01:31:03 PM

Just stay active on the forum, post regularly, don't spam and you'll become a member in no time ;
419  Other / New forum software / Re: A paid shoutbox on: November 08, 2015, 01:22:48 PM
Bunch of crap in my opinion, sorry. It would quickly turn into a shoutbox spammed with ads and stuff.
