702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In 2010, Satoshi said he was "venturing into more complex ideas" on: January 04, 2015, 08:20:24 PM
I wish he would work on a project like Maidsafe or do he's own version of internet 2.0

We'll never know which projects he's contributing to

There's no way he would ever work on something as trivial as currencies. Decentralization of the whole internet and it's services would be natural next step IMO.

Cheap coins.
704  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: An easy way to filter out non-bitcoin users on forums/reddit/etc, interested? on: January 04, 2015, 08:07:45 PM
There's the ignore button, and then there are self-moderated threads.

Good concept though Wink
705  Economy / Speculation / Re: You are responsible for this on: January 04, 2015, 07:38:16 PM

BTC was meant to be a currency and thus spent, traded, gambled and used not just stashed away until the price went to the moon making all early adopters overnight millionaires.

And that I would do if the merchants wouldn't exchange it to fiat immediately.
706  Economy / Speculation / Re: You are responsible for this on: January 04, 2015, 07:30:34 PM
Agreed on so many parts.

But I don't think we're failing. We've been here already.

Huh

714  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which Bitcoin Exchange do you use and why ? on: January 04, 2015, 08:51:13 AM
I use Bitstamp. They have a very clean interface and look really legit to me. I believe they are honest businesspeople and aren't going to scam me. Do you think that it is safe to store your whole stash of BTC on their site?

It's never safe to keep your BTC on an online exchange. Remember what happened with Mt.Gox. They were, at a point, legit as well.

Keep your BTC in your own wallet. It's quite easy to get them into an exchange Wink

You have to pay better attention.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=167.0

New forum software is in development and is supposed to be finished in a matter of months if I'm not mistaken.

From what I understood the new forum Software that is in Developement is another version of Simple machines forum , Correct ? Or it's completly new ? if not ... Because I was speaking about MyBB , vBulletin etc ... which are totally better from Security and design then Simple machines .

No. The new forum software is being written entirely from scratch, and it uses Node.js. Not PHP like all the ones you've been mentioning.

So it'll be completely useless to people who don't have Javascript enabled then? Dumb.

JS can pose quite a security risk and a lot of people disable it. Kind of surprising coming from the BTC community, where everybody seems obsessed with security issues.

It's open-source and the code WILL be audited by someone. On top of that, anyone can audit the code actually.

Am I being trolled here or what?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

What are you doing talking about 100k+ posts?
forum history (at the very bottom). It shows how many posts were made every month and every day if you press the "+"

Yeah, it's about 10k a day. Meaning we should hit 10M posts in a matter of days, one week max.
