4161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is altcoin airdrop ? on: October 11, 2017, 11:46:46 PM
Hey guys what is it altcoin airdrop? I tried to google it but didnt find anything fulfilling

Do not search for "altcoin airdrop" through Google. If you also type in the word airdrop alone, what comes out is the airdrop that is relation to Apple Mac. So I advice you to input Cryptocurrency Airdrop or simply crypto airdrop. I guess that would be good enough for Google to show you the exact pages.
4162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY][ICO] EventChain ICO Sept 13 BOUNTY THREAD - BONUS WEEK on: October 11, 2017, 05:28:23 AM
Hi CM. I am now a Sr. Member. I am now updating my signature also. Please update the spreadsheet.

Thank you.
4163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3 kinds of ICOs — Protect yourself on: October 11, 2017, 03:59:15 AM
Thanks for this, Jilp! This is educating the people here in terms of how to classify the so many ICOs that are offering their sets of tokens right now with a price. However, the knowledge to be able to determine which ICO is a scam, just a crap, or legitimate still needs to be learned by the great majority of us here.
4164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you monitor your crypto portfolio? on: October 11, 2017, 12:04:01 AM
I haven't managed to find a crypto portfolio tracker that works better than a spreadsheet I have. I'm curious what other folks use—would love to hear any tips about what is or isn't working for folks.

In the meantime, I'm going to try and make some improvements to my spreadsheet tool at www.cointracker.network for anyone to try (feedback welcome).

My portfolio is manually monitored. Although I am using blockfolio app in my mobile device, I am not relying on it much. I do monitor their threads here, very seldom though. I am following most of the time their twitter account so that updates will be fast. I also go to their website. It is not a hassle since I am owning less than 10 coins.
4165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it right time to Buy Alts? on: October 10, 2017, 02:16:08 AM
Buy low. That is the foremost advice from the old-timers here. I am adopting it as much as I can. I also feel afraid and full of emotions at times but I am trying to be more rational when it comes to investment because a good deal of money is involved. I am fearful when a coin I trust is getting lower and lower in value. But buying it is the wisest decision.
4166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to partecipate an airdrop? on: October 10, 2017, 01:36:30 AM
Im a newbie
I see lot of airdrop here, and I want to partecipate, but I don't understand how to do it.

I have to send my eth adresse, but how can I have the "airdropped Crypto"?

Thanks

It actually depends on the specific project conducting an airdrop. I know you noticed deeponion signature. That is an airdrop but it requires wearing signature and doing posting. Other airdrops will only require you to send your ETH address to them. Others require you to create an account to their site. There are so many specific instructions how to join airdrops. Just look at their instructions carefully.
4167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO at $40 within 8th October ███ FEW HOURS LEFT ███ on: October 09, 2017, 01:01:55 AM
Yes I'm calling it!
NEO at $40 within 8th October mostly because of Red Pulse ICO.

You are either wrong or incorrect with your speculation for NEO. You must know that Red Pulse ICO is not a means for NEO to get to fly high. It is not the way I guess. Otherwise, token-generating projects will be soaring every time there is an ICO based on their project. You are almost $10 short because NEO is only a little more than $30 right now.
4168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for insteresting altcoins to invest in- short/medium - ~$10,000-15,000. on: October 09, 2017, 12:34:45 AM
Topic. I'm pretty busy recently so I don't have time to read 100000 of ANN's topic with 90%of scam coins. Any suggestions to take a look at, guys?

Are you referring to altcoins that are already on the exchanges? Or are you referring to altcoins that are offered through ICOs? If you are referring to coins that are already existing on the exchanges then perhaps you will consider TFL tokens because another round of lottery is scheduled soon. About ongoing altcoins offered in ICO, try to check EVT tokens. Almost sold out. The ICO will be until the 14th of this month.
4169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn free coins?? on: October 08, 2017, 03:08:57 PM
Hi,

I want to know where can I earn free coins, for promoting that specific coin. For eg one ICO I saw said that they will pay 15 tokens for every unique visit on their link. Something like bounties.
Anyone know such coins that give free coins for helping them promote?

Also how does signatures work here? I heard we can get tokens for wearing sigs and profile pictures too.

Thanks guys

Try to explore in the forum more. I guess you have not yet found it since you are not yet wearing a signature and you are already a member. Here is the link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0. You can find here all the existing projects that offer bounties, mostly signature campaigns and social media campaigns. There are also some others such as translation, blog, and video campaigns.
4170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Leasing coins on for example waves on: October 08, 2017, 02:01:05 PM
If you're already holding Waves then it's a no brainer to lease them out.  It's ZERO risk as the coin never leaves your wallet, and you can cancel the lease at any time if you need them.  The return is minimal, so I wouldn't purchase Waves purely to lease them.  I lease my Waves because I'm a long term holder, so while I wait for the price to climb I lease them to earn a small risk-free return.

There are many sites to lease to, and this may not be the best but I'm leasing the BearWaves: http://www.bearwaves.nl/

Is leasing totally risk-free? I have encountered lending several times before but I have not tried or even understand the complete terms and conditions about leasing. Might check it out one of these days. Or do they have any similarities at all? I am also hodling waves but not all of them are in my waveswallet.io.
4171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So low market cap is better for investment? on: October 07, 2017, 12:38:28 AM
So low market cap is better for investment?
It mean we dont have huge amount of coins ready for sell?

It may still be considered another factor for me before investing into it. But on top of the low market cap, it is more important to look at the project itself. The project and not the market cap will, after all, be the one to determined whether the value will go up or go down. I am not even holding a single Syscoin right now.
4172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does BTC control a lot of the other altcoins on: October 06, 2017, 06:10:29 AM
yes bitcoin control a lot of the altcoin but not all of altcoin because some of altcoin is not affected if bitcoin is up or down. we can see in bittrex that there is many altcoin especially with the ethereum base, its not affected of bitcoin price. but until now bitcoin is for adjustment for the a lot of altcoin price so whenever bitcoin price is change, the altcoin price will be following.

Each altcoin belongs to a project. That is why their growth is independent from bitcoin's movement in value. Even if bitcoin goes down, if the project of a particular altcoin looks very promising and new big partnerships are happening, it will still grow in value. However, there is a possibility that your overall portfolio value is going down because of bitcoin's price.
4173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW TO SPOT A WINNING ICO on: October 06, 2017, 05:13:28 AM
I 've been trying to find out all the things that would lead me to spot the wining ICO, meaning an ICO that will not just enter a the platforms to make a quick buck.

An ICO I can really HODL.

I have gathered the below up to now:

  • The founders are working on something great, with details on their design and their roadmap.
  • The founders are not worried with deadlines, but are making changes when necessary to ensure the safety of their project.
  • The founders know their project of by heart. They can answer logical questions. They love it when people ask them about their project and the details of the development.
  • The founders could be promising the world, but not tomorrow. If they are promising you to become rich tomorrow, something looks bad.

New points from other members:
  • Competent development team is the most important rule. Ideas are not enough. There should be good devs to build around those ideas. That is main rule.
  • ICO's with a low or reasonable market cap and ICO's that have set a max cap.
  • [it could apply sometimes] The winning icos will be having a large of the communities that will always try to monitoring the development process of the project that was including about the crowdsale too.
  • Truly wining ICO gets a news coverage on the media.
  • The ICO softcap is fulfilled ahead of time.
  • If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Projects with an existing product, could look more promising, but people could be less likely to invest. It all has to do, at which stage their project is running and where they want to take it.

Looking forward to enhance my list. I will add your ideas to the above list.

Thanks for this, mate. I know this will be very helpful to the people here, especially the investors. And most especially to the newbies and beginners, this is a very precious note. I hope they will come over to this page. ICO investment is not for everyone, especially to those who do not even want to exert some effort to even check the project's website.
4174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: should i invest in ETH & LTC? on: October 05, 2017, 04:47:30 AM
hi!
i am using BTC from almost 2 years  and now i want to invest in other cryptocurrencies i just want to know is it profitable to invest in ETH and LTC because these are the fastest growing currencies after BTC,just need your suggestion about it.

Fastest growing currencies after Bitcoin. This remark is rather controversial to me. I think I do not agree with you, with all due respect. There are several others out there. Ethereum is of course a good buy and investment. Litecoin is not gaining higher grounds as aggressively as it should. ETH is preferable over LTC.
4175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO's future on: October 05, 2017, 04:13:10 AM
soon it will be like APP Store
many many applications , most of them useless, but there is always new one that becomes great and useful
same will be with coins & tokens

I love how the evolution of cryptocurrencies and blockchain possibly goes in the future. We are all considered early birds to this innovation but I am more than sure that in the future, the ICOs as well as projects will be more brilliant and innovating. Some projects now will either evolve or die out in the process.
4176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRAT - good time to buy? on: October 04, 2017, 06:04:51 AM
STRAT is at 0.000850 ($3.6) as of now . Good time to buy? I have seen this coin do $4.30 or so easily in the past few weeks

If you want to buy Stratis right now, it will be for a long term investment. If you are planning to have a target price that is a little bit higher than its current price, it might not be reached by Stratis easily. I hope Strat will fly though and reach 5$ easily. But if not, I am very willing to hold long term.
4177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: October 03, 2017, 01:05:38 AM
IT would be good to understand if "Bitcoin Gold" has anything to do with gold or if the word "gold" has just been attached to make it shine...

I hope this gold will be shinier than Bitcoin Cash. I will be shifting my entire portfolio to Bitcoin when the friendly fork of Bitcoin Gold starts. If I am not mistaken this will be implemented also the way Bitcoin Cash did last August. There will be Bitcoin Gold to all Bitcoin holders in selected wallets.  Grin
4178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: October 03, 2017, 12:23:02 AM
I can't name any other coin/token, which failed more times than ETH. It's not about loving or hating it, it's all about people losing money, because of situations which can be avoided. I would care less if these ETH based projects were not asking money from the masses, but that's not the case. And believe me when I'm saying that Ethereum has some powerful lobbyists. Otherwise its price would be probably 1/5 from the current one.

Didn't we had enough of this?

When it comes to powerful lobbyists you are talking about, I share it with you. ETH is now very rich and very influential. It can cause its own growth through hyping alone. But because of this same strategy, they are gaining the attention and trust of so many projects and ICOs. These, in turn, are the ones that are causing more growth to ETH.
4179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why do alt's use Slack ? on: October 02, 2017, 03:44:39 AM
Slack is like the wild west with scams and phishing attemps

If ETH forked each time I got a push notification stating as much there would be 1000 different chains

There are imposters everywhere

Why do alt's and ICO's continue to use it ?

I am uninstalling the app

There are many people who started to uninstall slack also. Majority are now leaving slack. Actually many projects are already abandoning slack because of all these phishing attempts. Slack phishing has already victimized a lot of innocent individuals over slack.
4180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to buy ETH now? on: October 02, 2017, 03:00:10 AM
Hi guys,

do you think it's a good time to buy ETH now? Price seems to be kinda low, but I'm not sure what to expect from ETH during the upcoming weekend & the aug1-happening after..
Do you think it's better to wait a few days...?

The price is still barely $300 so I think it is still a cheap price for Ethereum. Good buying time is now. It went below at $200 plus weeks ago and now it is beginning to gain grounds upwards a little bit. This might be a sign that ETH price will recover the lost the value in the past weeks. Grab the opportunity today, bro.
