I would suggest that instead of going through a manual operation better host your betting contest on https://www.superbru.com/home/index.php.
This way everything will be automated and you will in the end pay to the winners.

Also if you are not taking any entry fees for this, you can announce that anyone can contribute to the winning money voluntarily.

Superbru could have been great for this. But at this moment NBA and basketball are not included in their site. Hoping they will add NBA (league is leading in the pool) soon.

So I guess the best option now is an earlier cut off which could be hours before a match begins.

I also noticed that editing a post few minutes after it was posted and have minor changes cannot be tracked? Can someone help me with this, please.

Prediction post should be quoted so that it will not be edited anymore. Just like how they are doing in Stake my Address thread.

Really mate? Participants need to quote my posts then.

Let me try if this is really working.

Edit: Negative. I cannot find an underline of dots under my name.

Come on! I was looking for the Specials under the All Sports section many many times and I cannot find it. I thought there I can find the matches for the Tron challenge. I only need to scroll down a little. What a bummer!

It is surprising Playbetr is not allowing non users to take a look at the odds? I was trying to see if there are better odds compared to other sportsbooks. Are there any advantages for a sportsbook not showing its odds in public? For me I think it is a disadvantage. Bet365, William Hill and probably all fiat based sportsbook, their books are open to public. The same with crypto based sportsbooks 1xbit, Sportsbet, Cloudbet, Jetwin, etc. No offense to Playbetr of course if it continue to stay this way. Cheers.

There must be something wrong with your browser, odds are viewable for non users. Look at this screenshot http://prntscr.com/pldfnl
The screenshot shows that I'm not loging in but I can see the odds of any matches, what browser you are using? And would you please give them a screenshot of how it looks like which make you say that you can see the odds of the sports events?

Thanks for the response. I tried the other browsers and they are working fine. I checked it again and my Brave browser is really not showing the odds. I am not sure if opening an account can change it. Maybe this is something Playbetr that needs to take a look. Many crypto enthusiasts are using Brave. In Japan Brave users are also growing at high pace. It is a big market that a crypto sportsbook cannot just passed on.
3685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting Contest on: October 20, 2019, 04:27:08 AM

Soccer would be the best ones but according to poll it does show different result.
This do signify that users mostly on this forum do prefer on whats leading above.

Talking about my own selection I do prefer soccer yet I do have knowledge into this sport compared to others.

The poll may or may not reflect what is in the list because this forum do not have the same ratio with the world's population. I cannot even see someone posting for cricket but it is very popular and has a massive following on populated India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Anyway, if I am to pick only one then it is soccer. European leagues are going to be exciting next year and then the UEFA.

NBA won the poll.

Here is the NBA Prediction thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5197850.0

I am planning to stage a betting contest. Now I am undecided which sports. I like soccer since it is very popular and its many exciting games. NBA would be perfect too as new season is about to start. And there's also the other popular sports like tennis, mma, e-sport, etc.

I also noticed that editing a post few minutes after it was posted and have minor changes cannot be tracked? Can someone help me with this, please.

I am planning not to allow edits. They can just quote their previous post and then predict again.

Add-ons:
My initial plan is purely predicting the winner so I will be looking into matches that are competitive. A correct prediction is 1 pts while a wrong prediction gets you -1 pts. This simple mechanic allows those that missed the prediction (e.g. traveling, working hours, bad internet, etc.) the chance to stay competitive. This is necessary especially when the tournament is coming to an end.

My initial prize pool would be BTC0.02 only. Economy is bad but I wanted this game for a long time. This is just for fun anyway. But there is a chance that I will be putting up more. I read a comment for possible donations. Yes, I think we will be accepting donations from willing sponsors. There will be an escrow for the prize pool (op and sponsors).

For now break-down of the prize would be like:
1st - BTC0.01
2nd - BTC0.005
3rd and 4th - 0.0025BTC each

Anymore suggestions, especially for mechanics? I would be glad.

I still don't know the duration of this game. I wish I had the funds to make the prize pool big enough to prolong the duration of this contest. I just realized that the best games in NBA (playoffs) and soccer (leagues ending and UEFA) will start in the 2nd quarter of next year.

3689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Andy Ruiz vs Anthony Joshua II on: October 19, 2019, 04:35:55 AM
Which UFC event?
Most probably he is pertaining to UFC 242: Nurmagomedov vs Poirier. Khabib won against his opponent by rear naked choke and remains unbeaten in his fighting record.

Yes, the Gulf states are very rich. And they are trying their best to become oil dependent as oil is not forever. They are investing a lot, be it tourism and finance.

I was the fight live and i never felt that Andy Ruiz had stamina issues and i am looking forward to this rematch and if Anthony Joshua losses this one the hype train is derailed for good.
I agree. Actually Andy Ruiz has more experience lasting long rounds than AJ.

Latest news. Hearn said that AJ is 100% focus on this rematch. He is now sparring small chubby fighters. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy But but...Andy is not chubby anymore? Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

My prediction is Andy Ruiz by stoppage. Grin
Hmm, I think Joshua already learned his lesson. For sure he will jow take Ruiz as his biggest threat of his career Grin. My faith is still for Joshua but if Ruiz beat him up once again then we all know who is now the real goat between two of them

Thou shall not speak of the goat. Because there can be only one. Grin

3690  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxless society idea on: October 19, 2019, 04:09:30 AM
Why do the government need to provide free education and healthcare? Here in India, hardly anyone from the middle class depends on the government hospitals and schools (because the quality is so horrible). Those who can afford, always go for private healthcare and education. And these are the people who pay the taxes to the government without any break.

I am not for the abolishment of tax. But taxes should be kept at a tolerable limit. Here in India, those at the highest tax slab pays almost 42% of their income as tax. On top of that, there are indirect taxes on all goods and services ranging from 5% to 28%. And on top of all these, there is excise duty, capital gains tax and dozens of other types of taxes.

Again, another very informative reply, much appreciated.

Here in the Philippines, there are public schools that are basically free of tuition fees (besides from scholarships), this can range from High Schools to State Universities/Colleges. The government's plan was, to provide education to people who can't afford it. People who are knowledgeable, skilled, competitive--it's a long term plan actually. They believe that it could help the "economy" of the country by the next 5~10+ years. As for healthcare, here also they provide some "free" services every now and then I don't really know the details but public hospitals also provide insurances, especially for those people who can't afford a big one-time-payment, e.g. surgeries.

That's a lot of taxes; again, even I am not really familiar with the taxes here in my country but I'm pretty sure it's somewhat identical--the "items" that are taxed at least, not sure about the numbers.

Our country is still full of corrupt leaders and politicians. From the lowest level up to the highest level.

Public health care and education services may vary from places to places. Some places have good services down to the worst ones where politics matters most.

The tax system is not fair. Philippines 97% wealth is by owned by 3% of the population. Our lawmakers, officials and leaders are under the wallet of our tycoons. Our laws are not for us but for the 3%. We have high salary tax and another minimum of 12% additional tax on our goods. Purchasing our first vehicle should not be taxed this high as it is becoming a necessity, instead they should enforce this very high luxury tax the second time (or more) we buy another vehicle.

Taxless society is applicable to nations with very rich resources but with small population. But this is impossible to nations with high population with limited resources.
3691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Andy Ruiz vs Anthony Joshua II on: October 19, 2019, 03:44:13 AM
Why are all the fights being focusing in middle east recently, there was a big UFC event if middle east recently and it was a big success and the boxing world is trying to cash in that opportunity i think because of these announcement. What i find amusing is that Saudi Arabia is building a stadium entirely for this match  Shocked. You cannot find these things anywhere in the world other than in the middle east.
Which UFC event?

Andy Ruiz and his team held tough against a UK venue which Hearn confidently wanted but failed. Ruiz wanted the rematch in Mexico or the USA. These prompted Hearn to look for another venue that cannot give Andy a home advantage. At first, Ruiz and his team are also very hesitant on Saudi Arabia saying that it is not an open country and its friends and relatives may feel unsafe. Maybe Hearn's contract rematch is full of loopholes that allowed Andy Ruiz taking advantage like the UK venue and the additional money that Hearn once again gave in.

On the other hand Saudi Arabia recently is staging more boxing fights. Maybe that World Boxing Super Series finals George Groves vs Callum Smith was a big success. Then followed past prime but still popular Amir Khan. There is also the possibility that those fights didn't do well financially for the kingdom but the goal might be to promote Saudi Arabia world wide on sports and other big events. Remember, the kingdom is planning to build a multi billion dollar gambling city in the desert. Taking AJ vs Ruiz rematch is another big fight in the kingdom's resume of events.

3692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bank of Crypto? on: October 19, 2019, 03:15:27 AM
Some exchanges are already offering lock in period with a fixed return which is like time deposit in banks. Is Binance the only exchange that offers fund security to its clients? Although we don't know how deep is there security funds currently but sure it cannot cover all the amount yet. But a good start by Binance. Blockfi also offers crypto time deposits and loans with collateral. These are just few of the companies that are starting to venture like what banks do.

I think the hardest for a crypto bank is how to get an insurance from companies. Maybe this is doable but expensive and with low maximum. In the future this may become easy to achieve as we are turning to become more dependent on internet.

Do people believe believe in voodoo? If voodoo works in gambling then it should also work in other stuffs like in the movies. Majority of people nowadays won't believe this old superstition anymore especially the educated ones. In my country even some educated ones have their own quick rituals and beliefs when betting on local traditional games. Though these quick rituals can seldom found when inside a casino.

3696  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Exchange Alert: CoinExchange Ending its Services on: October 18, 2019, 07:40:31 AM

snipped~
All Crawford need to do is focus on his training and have that mindset that he is the underdog for him to get that motivation to train.

Crawford better be focused against this unknown guy or an upset happens. Guy got the power to KO opponents.

Crawford should not be distracted like this guy in this video. https://www.facebook.com/JustBoxing365SecondsOut/videos/564305917706422/

Kavaliauskas is a high risk - low reward fight for Crawford imho. For the die hard Crawford fans, this is going to be another not worth betting match here. I see Crawford ML 1.02. Grin
I hate to see that odds, too risky for bettors.

Only Spence can make Crawford odds at 1.6 or above. The rest like Danny Garcia, Thurman and Pacquiao are 1.6 below.

Due to rampant politics in boxing, seldom we can find a 50/50 fight.

Speaking of a 50/50 fight. Don't forget to watch this weekend's Artur Beterbiev-Oleksandr Gvozdyk unification fight. Bet on Gvozdyk and come back to me if you lose. Grin

Well, it says mandatory challenger, but I must say that Crawford should step up his competition. Bob Arum really knows how to protect his cash-cow.

We have been talking about a potential clash between the 2 best welterweights, Spence Jr and Crawford. However, we don't know if this can happen in the future though.

Bob Arum is still the best promoter when it comes to match making and creating superstars. But this isn't hiding Bud from the other 147 champs. Crawford himself and Bob knows that they are favorite to beat any of the other 147 champions and stars. This is the reason why Bob is always trying to negotiate with Haymon to make the Crawford-Spence fight.

On the other hand, Haymon knows he got most of the big names at 147. He knows they are all underdogs against the p4p king (Crawford). This is why Haymon won't answer any calls from Bob. Haymon is protecting his assets thus depriving us especially Crawford vs Spence.

My opinion, Crawford will smash the other 147 champions.
3699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: October 17, 2019, 09:17:19 AM

Anyways, so there's a big controversy in spanish football right now that involves the next 'El Clasico' between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Apparently, La Liga, the spanish football federation, and even the Spanish government, do not want El Clasico to be played in Barcelona, let alone on October 26th, all of this because of the current sociopolitical crisis in the city (check the news, shit is going down over there).

Long story short: we might end up without El Clasico this month, some are saying the game will be played on December[1]  Shocked

1. https://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2019/10/16/5da76603ca47411f158b4597.html
I read somewhere that's possible that first El Clasico can be moved to Madrid. I hope such radical decisions won't be needed... Just think about about fans who bought expensive tickets, especially these who will arrive from other countries, it would unfair...

That is also news that I have seen, that is not postponed to December. But El Clasico was moved from Barcelona to Real Madrid headquarters.
But in this case, it is precisely Real Madrid who benefit more from playing at home. whatever the reason, this will be detrimental to Barcelona and there should be no transfer of matches. It's better to delay.

That's unfair to Barcelona supposedly playing at home and then all of a sudden will end up facing Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabéu. A neutral location would be better if postponing it won't work. Fans will prefer a moved date for sure. Also it allows Gareth Bale to recuperate.

Another issue. Is Gareth Bale staying in Madrid? Modric openly wanted Gareth to stay but it seems Zidane and maybe the Real Madrid management too wanted Bale out? is Real Madrid looking to shop for another star as replacement?
3700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stacking cryptocurrencies with Interest on: October 17, 2019, 08:48:20 AM
Coinmarketcap has recently published a page where they track the interest rates from various cryptocurrencies on different platforms. The highest Bitcoin APR is now 6.20% at BlockFi. Looks like BNB and stable coins have even 10% APRs. I wonder what are these platforms doing with your crypto to offer such high interest rates..

My question to the community is how much you trust these platforms to hold your crypto safe and don't scam away? Is the 4-6% annual interest rate worth the risk for you?

I know Blockfi but haven't used it. BlockFi offers fiat loans online with crypto currencies BTC, ETH, LTC and Gemini dollar. The collateral value is 50% more than the amount loaned so it is fully secured unless there are heavy dumps on BTC, ETH and LTC. This allows BlockFi capable of paying their depositors with its annual interest rates.

10% annual returns on BNB and some stable coins are still payable. In my country, most investment companies I know paid 8% to 15% annual rate of returns depending of its performance. And I believe that in many highly developed countries investment firms are performing better than mine. It also means that BlockFi and these stable coins can invest the deposits they received on other platforms even outside crypto currency markets they deemed viable.
