4261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: July 25, 2017, 02:23:34 AM
Hi everyone, I've been around for a while now..
I've seen a lot of posts positive and negative about Ethereum.

At the moment I am holding Bitcoins, but I have invested in some Ether as well.

Now I am wondering, what are legitimate concerns about Ether (except for IPO, as I've already read this in a lot of posts).

So can anyone bring real other issues to the table, to enlighten me (and maybe a lot of other readers?)

Thanks!

The debate whether ETH is really stable or not has been going on for quite a while already. Hardliners who are pro and anti ETH caused the debate to become heated a times. The issue that I have come across talks about the stability of ETH. Some would say ETH is like founded on hollow grounds, that it is not really growing normally but only on created hype. However, so far ETH is doing good when it comes to its market price. What I don't like though about ETH is that it has been hacked several times already.
4262  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people pray? on: July 24, 2017, 05:35:10 AM
People pray because there are things they cannot do. That's when they need someone or something out there or up there that might be of help. Things beyond human power are attributed to the gods. Praying is the way to send their pleadings to them.
4263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: best altcoin to collect? on: July 24, 2017, 03:32:49 AM
I strongly suggest Ripple.

Same here. But add to it Stratis. Some say this year will be very good for Verge also. And next year, DGB will rise. NEM is also believed to fly. I have also stumbled upon a speculation that in 3 years, Ripple will reach the hundred figure. I don't know how reliable that prediction is but who knows, right? We are risk-takers here trying to invest on something we trust.
4264  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex, not accepting bitcoins... on: July 23, 2017, 12:51:23 PM
I had recently seen that bittrex is not accepting bitcoins, which means that i cant deposit nor withdraw. It says until BIP-91 is settled, the btc wallet will be disabled.

I would like to know till when this BIP-91 will be settled? and moreover segwit will happen from 1st august, so i wont be able to transfer from that time.
I have some bitcoins in coinsecure and i want to transfer them to bittrex and exchange them for some other currency...

Any suggestions on investing in other currencies on bittrex?

Hold on to it for a while. Do not worry about it. Just follow the instructions. It is not just bittrex who is implementing that one. Everywhere, it is not advisable to transact with bitcoins. Buying, transferring, trading, selling, and so involving bitcoin should be avoided.
4265  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC grow or less on: July 23, 2017, 10:46:09 AM
Hi! Do you have something information about grow Bitcoin or less on the next week, two weeks??

Regards All !

I am a little certain about this. Bitcoin's price will still grow. If you can still recall, the price went down very low when there was no final decision yet as to which option to take this coming August 1. By the time it was clear that BIP91 is the majority choice, meaning a SegWit2x was already locked in with a 90% agreement, which also means there is no split happening, the price went up several hours right after that. This means that the trust has already revived. By the time this implementation is done, the price will fly higher.
4266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum best for investment? on: July 22, 2017, 01:35:04 AM
Hello, As i am looking in crypto market now so i am thinking Ethereum is good for investment now. What is your opinion for this?

Right now, I'd better look for some other potential alts. And bitcoin itself. However, bitcoin is too expensive.

But time will come for ETH to really grow big. It is still the second placer here in the land of crypto. ETH is trusted by many and so it will certainly come to a point that its price will go to the thousand level. Although, I'm not putting all in to ETH. A diversified portfolio is all I have.
4267  Other / Off-topic / Re: Young people should go all in on bitcoin on: July 21, 2017, 04:48:40 AM
Forget about everything else and just put everything on bitcoin. You are living with your parents, they pay everything for you, you got nothing to lose. If I was living with my parents, I would save everything and buy bitcoin monthly. If BTC doesn't keep rising you can still reach the 21 BTC holder group, then save this and retire in 10 years when the price makes you a millionaire.

Go all in on regret later. You are on a privileged position to profit from high risk high reward moves. No risk no win, and BTC is the best long term high risk bet.

This sounds like a bit desperate, an all in gambling of sorts. I don't know if this is the wisest move. For me, it is not bad investing in bitcoin but limit it to a moderate amount especially to youngsters. I say invest some, use some to have fun, use some to help, use some to go to places you wanna go, use some to improve yourself.

And a decade is too far to be foreseen. Let's just say a couple of years at a time is a bit better.
4268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fasten your seatbelts: Bitcoin volatility in for a wild ride on: July 21, 2017, 02:36:58 AM
The time has come for bitcoin to be flying high with colors. This is indeed a wild ride. Bitcoin is already hitting $2800. And to think it has been dipping very low in the past few days. This is happening due to the agreement even if the segwit2x is not yet happening. There is still time left for buyers. When the implementation comes, the price will likely go berserk. Bitcoin is unstoppable.
4269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can i get my bitcoin back? on: July 20, 2017, 08:18:26 AM
A friend of mine had some Bitcoin on his phone a couple of years ago and he's lost that phone which stored the private keys on without any other backup. We can see his balance on the blockchain and he knows his password for the private keys. Is there a way of creating the private key from the bitcoin address and the known password?

In this digital and paperless age bro, sometimes a little piece of paper and pen will help... and could have saved millions. That is now a lost bitcoin. Sorry to say that. I think that will never be retrieved. The private key is needed. Your password will not be of help without the private key.

Next time, try to think that a pen and paper is stronger than the most expensive smartphone in this world. At least, when it comes to saving very important codes such as a private keys.
4270  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: July 19, 2017, 11:32:00 AM
Even the blind can see that crypto Currency is making people millionaires all  over the world just because they present the holders of such currency with the financial freedom and opportunity to accrue large amounts of wealth base on currency investment . But my question is that, is it late to buy bitcoin? Should i wait maybe bitcoin price will decline after 1st August meeting? Please i will welcome your advice so that I can make my decision on crypto currency investment.

If you refer to a decline that is related to August 1 then it will not be after the date, it will be before the date. And it has finished already. Did some checking lately? BTC has gone below $2000 the past few days. That's already the worst I believe. Right now, BTC has reclaimed the spot slowly. If it goes back to $2500, then it would go on up to $3000. The only decline will happen again if the core team and the miners won't reach an agreement. But for sure, there will be compromises and deals that would prevent a more adverse effect on BTC.
4271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people use Bitcoin? on: July 19, 2017, 08:12:26 AM
Some good reasons why you use bitcoin.

1. It is fast. Transactions are instantaneous and confirmation times are usually done withing 10 minutes.
2. It is cheap to transfer any amount of money anywhere. Fees are insignificant at this point.
3. Your bitcoin are your alone, they can't be blocked by bank, IRS or any institutions.
4. There are no charge backs.

Using bitcoin to transact is much more convenient.

But here's my comment to your post. Fast? Not really. 10 mins confirmation in payment is not that quick. And worse, there are times it goes up to hours. Cheap? Right now transaction fees are simply irrational. They are too significant to just be paid for transaction fees.

The rest I agree. Bitcoin is great but needs development just the same.
4272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cheap coins going big 5-10 years on: July 18, 2017, 04:50:45 AM
Hello guys
I wanted to ask you guys if there are some extremely cheap coins at ~0-50 sat, that have the potential to come out big in ~5 years. I am pretty new to this and there are so many coins I can't even get an overall view about them. Till now I know RDD and XVG.

You will have a hard time looking for a coin worth 50 satoshis right now that has the potential to become very huge in 5 years time. But if you want, go into some cheap but not so cheap coins but will for sure accumulate value in the future. For example, Siacoin is worth only 300 sats right now. This a great coin. You may invest on it. There are also some more coins worth a few thousand satoshis. That's cheap already considering the future price they will have.
4273  Economy / Economics / Re: New rich people thanks to BTC on: July 17, 2017, 07:28:45 AM
I can only stare in awe at the figures presented. What a quick and very relax way to make so huge money in a very short time. I think we also have this opportunity today as the price of bitcoin is like going back in the old times. $2000 is reached already. I am hoping that this year 2017 will see bitcoin price at $4000. That's double.
4274  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin die soon? on: July 17, 2017, 03:21:42 AM
I receive bitcoin from blockchain of friend, he sent with default fee so i see only 0.00029 btc fee for 0.01 BTC he sent me, 2 days does not confirm till now and i just check my coinbase transaction disappear, so sad, anyone knows what happen next and how increase fee blockchain thank you

It would be wiser for you to hold still and avoid bitcoin transactions. I think this is some kind of an early traffic.

If I'm not mistaken, the segwit will be introduced a few days before August 1. The advice will be to secure bitcoins in a safe place and avoid bitcoin transactions. However, it seems the blockchain traffic is getting worse this early because of the upcoming development.
4275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin's problems be fixed? on: July 16, 2017, 02:12:20 AM
Sorry if this has been posted before but I am a Bitcoin supporter but there obviously is some inconveniences vs using the regular dollar. Mainly the fee. Nobody would want to use a currency where they pay fees. Another is how can restaurants like subway and others legally accept Bitcoin if the government has no control over it?

Is it possible for these inconvinences to be resolved or can it not be done technically? The reason I ask this is because if not, it's possible another coin will come along that is much more convenient and will eventually surpass Bitcoin.

People have said long transaction times but there are already Bitcoin credit/debit cards so I don't see that as a problem

It can be fixed. And it will be fixed very soon. The August 1 schedule that is being disseminated right now is primarily designed to smoothen things out and improve the overall operation of bitcoin. The bitcoin market will be very progressive just after this segwit. I think the concern regarding fees will also be ironed.
4276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in alt on: July 15, 2017, 03:58:06 PM
Im new to this and going to buy ripple waves nem goelm and sia. But price is still going down?  Should i buy now or wait till augsht? Plan to invest for 6 months to one year time. Is it worth? How about your idea? Thanks

Perfect time bro. And your altcoin choices are great. This is just the perfect time to buy altcoins. The price is dipping really really low. Buying cheap and selling high right? Go ahead you will earn much.
4277  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Taxes on: July 15, 2017, 01:33:15 PM
I've heared that in some countries people have to pay the income tax after buying fiat for their bitcoins. Anyone faced such problem? If yes then how you deal with it in your country?
At one point of view  bitcoin is an instrument for investment so ppl buy it willing to get income in their currency.
At the other point it is a currency and it might be used with a purpose of saving. In this case the tax would be stupid.

Here in my country it is understood because all income is taxable. Income, in whatever form, and from where ever for as long as it is still considered income, a certain  tax is imposed. However, with regard to bitcoin income, it is hard for my government to track them as these are all online. The Internal Revenue cannot easily monitor people's income if they are through online transactions.
4278  Economy / Economics / Re: Probability of Bitcoin split on: July 15, 2017, 09:26:38 AM
I don't see a split coming. Although that is possible, a worst case scenario of sort. But I know the team behind bitcoin, the developers, and the miners are doing their best to come up with the most viable option and split is not among them. They are all avoiding a split as it would complicate matters worse.
4279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin cannot replace currency in the world because price is not stable on: July 15, 2017, 03:41:46 AM
bitcoin cannot replace currency in the world because price is not stable.

currency should be more stable.

you may reply me. currency is not stable also but you should think

USD currency price is up and down 1-2% in 1 month.

bitcoin price is up and down 20% in 1 month.

what will people think if they just change USD to bitcoin then their money down 10% in 10 minutes?

bitcoin can become stock but cannot become currency

Bitcoin is made to be a global currency and not as stock.

Why is bitcoin so volatile?

Because bitcoin is in a very VERY young stage. The system isn't final yet. There are lots of updates to be made in the future that can determine if bitcoin will continue to be the de-facto of cryptocurrencies or not. Not to mention that we haven't achieved global adoption yet.

The USD has been around since forever. So common sense should tell you that it will be stable compared to crypto that hasn't even been around for more than a decade yet.

Do your own research.

The two therefore are incomparable for now. And the two do not really fall in the same place because the other one is a fiat currency and the other one is an online currency.

Bitcoin is not actually made to replace fiat altogether. It was designed as an alternative for people who do not like the way our transactions are going on right now. It is decentralized and anonymous yet transparent.
4280  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will up. dont worrry on: July 14, 2017, 04:05:22 PM
as u see . now btc is around 2k4. but i think it will up to 2k8 again. keep it and hope!!!

You will be proven right in the ber months. And before 2017 will call it a year, 1 bitcoin will already reach $4000.

The price falling right now is due to the fact that:

1. There is always price fluctuation
2. There is an upcoming segwit
3. People are afraid
4. So they dump their bitcoins

But

1. The risk-takers are doing the opposite
2. And will win in the end.  Wink
