4181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Cypherfunks[FUNK]: crowdfunding global band! v1.0.1 out! UPDATE on: June 02, 2014, 02:03:47 PM
HI Simon,

We need to have the Cypherfunk shop open. I was thinking why don't we crowd-fund for some cool stuff to put in the FUNK store, or for prizes for a contest to get people to want FUNK? We could use StartJoin.com to crowd-fund, and we can figure out a nice list of possible things to stock up the store with (synths, samples, software, concert tickets etc.) People could be buying FUNK with BTC just to buy cool stuff in FUNK!

I'm thinking along the lines of if we had a pool of funds raised, what could we do with it? Maybe we could build those FUNK ASICs, that stream music and pay the listener, musician, and a funk pool.

We need to make FUNK something unique and special that gives people an exclusive tool that does something nothing else quite does.

Read this thread and let me know what you think:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1wzxjy/soundcloudcom_considering_bitcoin_as_payment/

Interesting ideas. I've recently looked into having a FUNK tipbot on soundcloud, so people could directly tip musicians they enjoy, but it's a little tricky since you can't use a bot to send/receive private messages. Love your tracks on soundcloud, btw, wish I could send you a tip  Wink

Hii , i will mine on linux in : http://www.minin.gs/qcn/
but i not understand for comand :
Code:
./minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://minin.gs:17777 -u YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS -p x -t [YOUR_THREAD_NUM]
[YOUR_THREAD_NUM] < what is that ?

It's just an integer from 1 to the maximum number of threads your computer can run. So if you have quadcore AMD or dual core intel with 4 hyperthreads, you can run '-t 4' to use max threads, or '-t 1' to use just one.

Love the mix! Great to hear cypherfunks on the airwaves Smiley

Just sent 4.20 coins to everyone on the list. All valid addresses should have been paid and no doubles. I guess at this point though we have to assume Hippie Tech is correct and BCCdev is a scumbag.

Did not receive this one either.

Sorry leewilson, I had already started the script when I saw your message, so I didn't correct for it. As I mentioned though, for actual airdrop it should be easy. I honestly doubt there will be any airdrop though...you may want to consider relieving yourself of any coins you have in anticipation of the coin being removed from exchanges.

Very true, unfortunately...any word from the dev? in irc?

nada

Too bad it took 123 pages to get to this point.

I think it just shows that if done right, people would really like/would have liked to have been a part of the unofficial btctalk coin. The other one seems not great as well, so may have just killed interest in the idea at this point...

So, with a donation from Dallas5, I went through the list again, sending 4.815162 to each address on the list. There were a couple of hiccups this time. I had to restart the script twice, and set it to manually start from where it left off, and I may have sent a couple folks double and even missed one or two, but it was only 4 coins and there's a log file showing which transactions went through, and it's still better than 99% success. There were only a few failed transactions and most seem to have been a bad address. Here is the output file from the script this time:

http://pastebin.com/jbqeKwVT

I may try one more time tonight, just to see if I can iron out the kinks. Dev/Rawdawg, let me know if you want help with script or I'd be willing to just send the airdrop coins if you guys don't have a solution. Otherwise, I guess we probably have to assume Hippie Tech is probably correct  Shocked

Before you possibly take over the drop or they use your script would you please make sure my address is included.

I received the original drop, but none of yours. I can only guess that it is because I had updated my address a couple of days prior to the drop and when it was updated in the spreadsheet a note was made "UPDATED" in the same column as "banned".

Good call. I did not notice that until you pointed it out, but it should be easy to correct. I see there is one other address that just says 'changed address' now, not 'BANNED' or 'same as...'. Thanks for pointing that out.

If this is already answered in the thread I apologize. I read the OP and it was not mentioned or linked to.

How do you stake this coin? Some type of write up for newbs seems a good idea.

Is the process the same for all pos coins?

Thank you.

Anyone with some expertise? or at least, actually receiving pos?

Do I need a conf file?
Do I need to run the client as server?
Does the client need to be mining?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

If you don't have a password on your wallet, it should be staking automatically. Otherwise, you just need to click the unlock wallet button and enter your password. By default, if you do nothing staking should be enabled (there is a way to protect coins from being staked). I've staked a few hundred coins in a couple weeks with between 60-90k coins in wallet.

I did that days ago and still nothing; that is why I ask. Password protected and unlocked. It says "wallet is encrypted and currently unlocked"

Is your wallet mining? Is your wallet running as server?

No, the wallet that staked the coins wasn't running as server or mining. It depends how many coins you have and how long you've had them in your wallet. You might just need to wait a few more days or a week. I've had my wallet for a little over two weeks, and I've staked like six times, so maybe you just have bad luck or few coins...

When was the last payment anyone got from the dev?

I never got paid from official airdrop. I had to go on freenode IRC #BTCtalkcoin and ask Rawdawg to send them to me manually, and that was just once...

Incompetent ? Most definitely as he is not the guy who coded this.

Its the story of the .2 BTC shitcoin ! Tongue

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=593562

Why is no one talking about the paid IPO ?

The newb laced air drop should have been enough. I'm amazed to see that so many remain optimistic.

I agree, it wasn't the greatest launch in the world, but at this point the 1% premine (650000 coins or so) is worth significantly less than one btc. I'm not even sure if the original dev is active. If we can manage to get the 49% airdrop premine out to the people who signed up for it, and maybe get a tipbot going on the forum, then it could have a chance to gain some value and a decent distribution.

I was on the original list. I received nothing until today, when I got 3.141593. Looks to me like someone has a pathetic sense of humor...
This turned out to be a total disappointment.

I know I shouldn't feel this way about anything that is given away for free, but, to be honest, the time it took me to download the wallet and subscribe for the distribution is worth much more than the pathetic reward I received.

It was just a test, some free pi, out of my own personal wallet. I wrote a script and made it publicly available (look back a few posts) that automatically sent out coins to all users on the publicly available address list, to try and help the devs who seem to have been having some trouble getting that working. Sorry I upset you with my free coins Tongue

One thing that I think would great for this coin is if someone could set up a tipbot that would operate similar to the reddit or twitter tipbots, but directly on btctalk forum. It doesn't seem like the site supports that type of operation with an API to send and receive messages, see this post:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=629754.0

It probably wouldn't be too terribly difficult to put together, I don't think, but maybe a little beyond my capabilities and available time...

Feeling LOST?

> 4. 8 15 16 23 42

Please post if you are on the original airdrop list and received the coins.

This small fun gift is unrelated to the devs, just me and jwinterm having fun with TALK.

Just started airdrop test round 2. I'm currently taking about 21 seconds to send to each address, so it will take about 7 hours to go through the entire list. I'm not sure if I need to go this slowly, but sending too fast seemed to be the problem on my first few attempts (well, on first attempt I wasn't validating addresses and I had no error handling, so I just got a JSON exception when I hit a bad address). I tried once to use one second between sends, and then I tried to do no delay between sends, and it would make it through like 100-200 addresses and then the wallet would just stop responding, so the script RPC call would time out. I guess it was just overloading. So, I could probably go a bit faster, maybe 10 seconds between addresses, but 21 seconds worked the first time, so this will be like a double check...
4197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BTCtalkcoin [TALK] - Pure POS - Multipool Ready! - AirDrop Has Arrived on: May 29, 2014, 01:13:11 PM
Hi all BTCtalk people on the list,

Last night/this morning I think everyone on the list should have received at least 3.14 coins (some near the top of the list probably received 2 or 3x that). These weren't related to the airdrop, they were my own personal coins (I'm not part of dev team). I've heard the devs are having some trouble with the airdrop, so I just wanted to write a script to see how difficult it would be to send coins to 1148 addresses. It took a few hours and several attempts, but I think I got everything sorted out.

For anyone interested (hopefully devs are interested in sending coins to everyone), here is the script that I used to send them all out:
http://pastebin.com/PmQmCgFf
It actually only ended up being 60 lines of python, and that is with excessive commenting and print statements.

And here is a list that was output by the script, showing everyone on the list and their tx id:
http://pastebin.com/gVbMBgAK

I hope you all enjoyed the pi...and please let me know if you have any questions or anything Smiley

Thanks !

If it wasn't obvious before, it should be now. lol  The technical difficulties were faked.. just as half the list on the air drop.

THIS COIN IS A SCAM.

I'm not ready to say it's a scam yet, but now the devs clearly have the tools necessary to send coins to all addresses on "the list", so there shouldn't be anymore "technical difficulties". If we don't all start getting regular airdrop payments soon, then we can call it a scam.

Maybe you're unfamiliar with Hanlon's razor:
"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

Or perhaps you prefer the Napoleon version:
"Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence."

4199  Other / Meta / API access to receiving and sending messages on: May 29, 2014, 05:28:09 AM
I was wondering if it is possible to send and receive private messages, for instance, using some kind of supported API for bitcointalk? Or if I want to make a bot do I need to hack it together?

Can not sync with the wallet.

Wanted to see if I received anything yet.

I've been having trouble syncing the wallet as well, v1.5.0. I have to take a copy of the synced blockchain and paste it into folder, otherwise it will get stuck around block 12000...
