now my account shows no currencies at all and doesn't show any successful transactions at all. so my data just disappeared then I suppose?
same Did you try to hit refresh and see if you're logged in as a guest? They have a weird auto-logout feature that definitely needs to be tweaked.

Next question: is is possible by now to change the passphrase of an existing wallet? I am using the command line version of simplewallet...
I think the only way at the moment to change your password is to recreate/recover the wallet files using the mnemonic seed, at which point you will be asked to input a (new) password for the wallet files.

why vertcoin changes algo instead of raising the N number as originally designed ?
I'm pretty sure the asics that were hashing n-scrypt could also handle higher n-factor.

"I was simply asking what is the benefit of using a nxt asset tied to a low market cap clone coin rather than a company or individual starting their own nxt/bts/xcp asset."
Rather than which company? which individual? That is exactly the point - noxt is trying to establish a registered company with it own asset.
If you specify a specific competitor with similar idea I might be able to answer "why noxt" but I don't really understand what you mean by "other companies suggesting their own crypto asset", Can you provide any examples?
OK, so what is the point of the noxt corporation? Any company can issue their own asset, so why would someone want to buy assets from a company whose only apparent function is to issue an asset. I'm not asking for a detailed (100+ pages) detailed description of the inner workings. Just a few sentences on what you envision the use case(s) would be. Sorry to interrupt your glorious thread with my lack of intelligence.

Make it short, and they scream 'incompetent'. Make it long, detailed, and specifically planned answering all possibilities and future plans, and it gets called 'not a whitepaper'. Really? It's really more of a book at this point. http://www.whitepapersource.com/writing/whats-the-ideal-length-for-a-white-paper/I still don't see why anyone would want to use noble nxt rather than setting up their own colored coin/nxt asset/bts asset/counterparty asset, especially a business. There's no technical innovation, is there? That's what I was asking? Why would someone, particularly a business, want to tie themselves to a nxt asset with a (imo) stupid sounding name? Especially when they could just issue their own asset. The only point to this venture, as far as I can see, is to get people to burn noble, which in turn probably enriches the dev, because it increases scarcity and he probably owns a fuckton of noble. "I still don't see why anyone would want to use noble nxt rather than setting up their own colored coin/nxt asset/bts asset/counterparty asset," Of course you don't, you didn't read I'm not going to waste my whole vacation digging through the "white paper". I actually did read through the first ten pages or so a few weeks ago, and didn't see anything substantial, just this oft repeated mantra of being a business friendly crypto backed asset. I was simply asking what is the benefit of using a nxt asset tied to a low market cap clone coin rather than a company or individual starting their own nxt/bts/xcp asset. If you can't explain the core concept of something in a few sentences, it might just be too convoluted or unnecessarily complex. Thanks for your suggestion to read the white book, maybe someone else can offer a succinct explanation.

Don't mean to rain on the rofo parade, but what exactly does noble nxt do that other crypto doesn't. As far as i can see it's just a nxt asset with a tomb of a "whitepaper" (maybe someone should tell rofo what whitepaper means) masquerading as a legitimate business instrument. Why not just issue/buy stock on a regulated exchange If you want regulated and known issuers? or just directly buy nxt, bts, etc and issue you're own asset? I don't see the point here, and I don't really see anything demonstrably novel in noble or noble nxt, despite everyone's claims that rofo is an awesome dev (does publishing your name make you awesome? is that why coblee is super fantastic?).
anyway, if someone could fill me in, would be appreciated.
It is backed by the work of a registered company focusing crypto regulations. When you buy noxt now you are actually buying services tokes for this company. EDIT: this token will be able to use noble coin infrastructure as well which will include noble pay, noble trade, noble gift, Precious Metals, Diamonds & Jewelry, Marketplace and many more (this is why the paper is so long please read the utilities section for more information) EDIT2: We are on #noblecoin , join us for more information So what you're saying is that it's crypto backed by a centralized institution (a registered company)? This has been done before, and it usually ends up being a scam (MidasCoin, PayCoin, UI3 coin or something). I'm not saying this is a scam, but I still don't really see what purpose it serves, besides enriching the centralized institution/registered company that everything revolves about.

Shouldn't richlist and untraceable be oxymoronic? I know that it's not, in this case, but it really ought to be... untraceable means unlike other coins, the users ip wont be discovered. anonymity with transparency. =] basically if you send me any other crypto coin, i can A) see your balance from the address you sent from, and B) get your ip address. this is pretty much like telling someone how much cash you have, and where you live. now the burglar just needs to check your windows for a way in. our coin, when used on our i2p or tor network, doesnt reveal the address.. but yeah, lol.. i know what ya mean! hope you had an awesome holiday jwinterm! remember, our doged nodes can be found easily on the tor atlas search, by looking for "doged", or you can just drop a message here ;] https://atlas.torproject.org/#search/dogedHolidays have been nice, still a few more days for me before I'm back home. Hope you had nice holidays as well Still think stealth addresses would be nice feature, or other features to improve untraceability/unlinkability. I think you would be hard pressed to identify a bitcoin user's ip if they're using one time addresses, let alone a monero user's address with stealth addressees and ring sigs (and they're implementing i2p as well). Anyway, look forward to see what's in store for the new year. Cheers!

I purchased some CCN (cannacoin) via cryptorush and cannot withdraw it, I opened a ticket about 24 hours ago and still haven't received any response (ticket #491792)
Is this site a scam?
Maybe just people taking off for holidays. Best way to talk to someone is to hop on freenode IRC #cryptorush channel and ask for help from KingDragon or JCJrsomething and wait for response probably.

if i dont have much coins about 60 only...is it impossible to stake it right?
No, it's still possible. At the moment, the network stake weight is around 280k. So your 60 is 1/4667 th of the total. That means you can expect to earn 1 CLAM every 4667 minutes or so. That's once per 77.77 hours, or 3.25 days. Luck plays a huge part, but that's the kind of staking frequency you can expect with 60 CLAMs. Sounds about right, I have like 85 and staked two in a bit less than a week.

See the total amount calculation in this picture I'm not seeing anything wrong with the total amount in that pic, what is the problem you can see? 0.0012 mXCN != 1.02 uXCN 0.0012 mXCN = 1.2 uXCN

Myriad has the 6th highest SHA256d hashrate of all SHA256 coins right now. Some seriously heavy hashes being thrust onto MYR right now...and blockchain is just fine. wtf is bancorcoin? also, merry myrmas!

What is the favorite exchange for XCN? Poloniex or Bter?
I find that there is a small amount of XCN on sell-side orders at Poloniex only (209k/51 mil) ~ 4.1%
I prefer Polo, just because the UI mostly, but also I'm kind of shaded out by Bter after both the NXT and Bitbay fiascos they were involved in.

Given that you are using kivy (I think) for the UI part, which supports Linux, Windows, OS X, Android and iOS, is here a reason this is limited to Windows?
Not really. It should work on linux and mac with very minor modifications, I think, but the idea was to just get a working binary for windows produced that people could use as easily as possible (single exe file with no bitmonerod running). For linux, I'm not sure it really makes sense to compile a binary, or how tricky it would be to compile a binary that would work on different distributions. For OSX, I've never used mac before, and the way pyinstaller works (to generate the binary), you have to compile on the system you're targeting, so I'd need to pirate OSX and do it in a virtual machine or something. I'll try in a week or so (when I get back home) to run it in debian and see how much tweaking it needs...

Second alpha release of lightWallet is available. I started a thread for it for future updates, can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=903579.new#new I've got the tx history tab working now, and the other major change is that file paths and names are limited to basic ascii, so it probably won't work for cyrillic or chinese or other locale users (I'm going to try and get this working for next release). Other minor change is now you can switch the orientation of the tabs by clicking a button.

lightWalletUpdate: 2017-01-07 LightWallet is no longer being maintained, and is expected to stop working after the upcoming hardfork enabling RingCT. Please use the official GUI for now (which also works with a remote node), or wait for another third party GUI by Jaxx or someone else to be released soon.Update: 2017-01-07 LightWallet is no longer being maintained, and is expected to stop working after the upcoming hardfork enabling RingCT. Please use the official GUI for now (which also works with a remote node), or wait for another third party GUI by Jaxx or someone else to be released soon.Update: 2016-01-28 LightWallet is a lightweight GUI wrapper for simplewallet written in Java using the Libgdx library. The source code is available here: https://github.com/jwinterm/LightWallet2 Please check out the README.md file here if you are going to test it out. The release binary can be downloaded here: https://github.com/jwinterm/LightWallet2/releases I think the jar file should work on any computer with a java virtual machine, and exe is just for Windows. You need to have simplewallet and necessary dlls in the same folder as LightWallet to run the program. In this release the language is automatically selected as English. Screenshots from latest build: Daemon tab: Balance tab: Transfer tab: Please let me know if you have any feedback, suggestions, questions, etc. I'd be glad to hear

Strange, the vps has 2.5GB of RAM and 2.5GB of swap. But indeed, it was making numerous cc1plus services. Did it without -j and it worked. Ok, so i ran ./boolbd from /home/badass/boolberry/build/release/src and got this: 2014-Dec-23 13:55:16.569447 [P2P9]Connecting to 107.170.228.11:10101(white=1, last_seen: never)... 2014-Dec-23 13:55:16.718748 [P2P9]Connect failed to 107.170.228.11:10101 2014-Dec-23 13:55:16.718786 [P2P9]Connecting to 107.170.97.197:10101(white=1, last_seen: never)... 2014-Dec-23 13:55:16.804009 [P2P9]Connect failed to 107.170.97.197:10101 2014-Dec-23 13:55:16.804056 [P2P9]Connecting to 188.226.215.102:10101(white=1, last_seen: never)... 2014-Dec-23 13:55:16.805721 [P2P9]Connect failed to 188.226.215.102:10101 2014-Dec-23 13:55:16.805758 [P2P9]Connecting to 128.199.196.65:10101(white=1, last_seen: never)... 2014-Dec-23 13:55:17.149151 [P2P9]Connect failed to 128.199.196.65:10101 2014-Dec-23 13:55:17.149201 [P2P9]Connecting to 107.170.228.11:10101(white=1, last_seen: never)... 2014-Dec-23 13:55:17.300777 [P2P9]Connect failed to 107.170.228.11:10101 2014-Dec-23 13:55:17.300816 [P2P9]Failed to connect to any of seed peers, continuing without seeds all the time. Any idea? Opening ports in iptables? addnodes to a config? If you're on AWS you can open ports from the web interface console, you don't need to mess with iptables or anything. I guess it depends on your VPS provider how you would unblock that port.

I'm trying to install Boolberry wallet headless in Ubuntu. As far as i know it needs libboost1.55-all-dev which can be downloaded from repo ppa:boost-latest/ppa.
make[3]: *** [src/CMakeFiles/wallet.dir/wallet/wallet2.cpp.o] Error 4 Connection to 89.248.X.X closed. It also shuts down my VPS all of a sudden....did it twice. Anyone has an idea? Try changing -j to like -j2 or even get rid of it if it doesn't compile. It takes a lot of memory depending on how many cores you have, and it looks like it ran out. [/quote] Or make a swap file if that still doesn't solve the problem. I've been able to compile wallets with only 512 MB of RAM on a vps using a 2 GB swap file. See here: http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-add-a-swap-file-howto/
