Jesus, are we still flogging this dead horse?
Boolberry is perfect, I've said so from day one, it works brilliantly for google, is unique and friendly.
Just because some here think it should have a different name is no reason to change it. Some of the proposed names are just pretentious and too technical. We want this to work for the layman, not satisfy some small time investors wish to appear grandiose and out-of-reach.
This was settled ages ago, leave it alone.
Edit:
RUNE ?
For fucks sake, that's appalling.
Stop trying to be so clever, it puts people off.
Good point - oddball names work for tech companies. Maybe you should go start a boolberry search engine but I'm not going to pay you Googles for it since that sounds dumb. tbh, I don't think paying someone in runes sounds any better/more legitimate than paying someone in boolberries, if anything it sounds stranger in my mind to say I'm going to pay someone in mystic characters rather than funny berries (wtf am I talking about )

However it's a broad term, ripple had purchasing power to secure ripple.com and associate the term ripple with their project, not sure the same could happen here, runescape is pretty well known
I think this is a very important point. You're not gonna get rune.com, and I doubt you will ever come up as the first result if someone searches for "rune" in google. All three options probably suffer from this same problem, except maybe secore (secore.com is not available and I imagine google will just autocorrect people to "secure"). For this reason I'll abstain from voting; I think this is a bad idea, given the options available.

After discussing with various members of the Hirocoin community and outside parties it's been decided that we will be hard-forking into the Dynamic Reward System. The code is simple enough, we get the average of the last 100 difficulty values and then divide that into the current difficulty to get the weight to apply to the coin reward. The new coin reward can go from 40 to 400 depending on whether the difficulty is going up, down or remains static. The hardfork date will be set for September 22nd at block 285,500. I will be taking over the project for now unless Hiro himself opposes the takeover. MintPal, Poloniex and all pools will be contacted shortly to be asked to update to the new client on my github. https://github.com/OmarxGx/HirocoinSo it's omarGcoin now? Can we go back to the cool godzilla logo?

Very nice work Mega! Hey, I appreciated the comments, but I got to say that this is not my work. I searched "Vertcoin" on google images. such google-fu!

If a person can do that the coin is dead as far as being a currency. Not only does the mining algo lack the simplicity of other coins but also it draws people in under the guise of 'human mining' while a few key people set up bots to cash in.
Can anybody get in on the botfest? Sure. Will anybody? Few.
Very scammy.
Very myopic. The coin won't be mined out for 8 years (I think), and there's no block halvings or anything (I think), so it is basically constant emission for 8 years. It's the first coin of it's kind, and the devs are working (for free/small donations) to advance the game to the point that it can be played in a web browser or on an android phone. That is the ultimate goal, it's not there yet, but it's only been out for not even nine months. There's a long way to go, and it's totally not some instamine scam crapolacoin with rapid halvings or decreases in emission rate, there is linear emission for the entire 8 years (I think I think). I try and take a little bit longer view of what huntercoin can be. I think the block halvings are every 4 years just like Bitcoin and will be mined out around the same time Bitcoin is. Maybe snail can give his input. Hmm, I don't think it says that in the first post, but in any event, at a minimum we are still not even 25% of the way to a change in the block reward. The coin is still very early in its life, and there is no rapid reduction in rewards that would disproportionately reward early miners/players.

Just FYI, I will be reducing the vertcoin discount to 5% next week. The margins are just too tight and the market a bit too volatile to keep it at 10% Glad to hear you're still going to keep discount for vert tho Hox Thanks for putting together the site!

Vertman to the rescue Really nice renderings, mega!

block reward is 347 for 1st 17k blocks, then 50 can't find the block reward on OP
It really oughta probably be on the first post. Coin emission rate is pretty important feature.

Can someone show me a viacoin emission graph?
Put one together quickly: Perhaps normalize to total supply so all of the coins are at least on the same scale? +1 would be nice to see.

is there any faucet for XMR ?
With the fees as high as they currently are (0.01 XMR = ~$0.02), I think it would be difficult/expensive to distribute any meaningful amount to a lot of people (you have to give them more than the fee or they can't do anything with the xmr they receive).

Today's update:
Reimbursement code is in place. We've started reimbursements! Playing it safe with just CRS's right now to make sure no strange bugs got through. Please login and check. You'll need to logout/in for it to process. Please report any oddities via ticket so we can address it ASAP.
Once we're confident there are no glitches we'll start processing coins that can be withdrawn!
You'll also notice CRB-B and CRB-L being listed now. As stated before this is where balances that are owed people that can't be paid back until the exchange can repay them will live.

Great job KD, thanks for getting everything automated and back online

Thanks guys, but I would have NO idea how to compile anything.
I understand the likelihood of false positives, but again I am seeing WAY too many to be comfortable with as well as virus names I am not accustomed to seeing in wallets and miners. Just not worth the risk for me without knowing for certain they are in fact clean.
Is all good though, I can partake by trading......was interested really in giving my CPU something to mine but I trade everyday as well so I will just take that route with Monero for now.
Thanks to all for your replies and my apologies if my inquiries came across as potential fud!
There are several pools (I'm pretty sure dwarfpool and minexmr are among them) where you can mine and send directly to an exchange. Then you don't need to run daemon or simplewallet, you can just run cpuminer or whatever.

What is happening with this coin right now? I'm never seen the price this low. I want to invest but why are people selling?
Monero, Boolberry and Bytecoin are being dumped for Stealthcoin. It doesn't have the bloat. Stealthcoin also doesn't have functioning anonymous transactions, thus it doesn't have bloat. Funny how that works.

Also, it seems like I'm stuck on block 273048 :/
Is this something known?
Edit: just upgraded to latest version 'g', and now it's taking a really long time to open the qt window. The icon is showing up in the tray, and I can see it using a bunch of cpu in task manager. Is this just the pruning taking place? How long does this operation typically last?
|
|
|
Does the blockchain sync significantly faster if you run huntercoind rather than the qt wallet? If I'm 8 weeks behind, should I just download a bootstrap blockchain? Also, I'm on version "version" : 1001100, just 1.011, I don't see any letters. Is this version ok to transfer coins with? Thanks

Hey, another update for everyone. I tweeted out that the last of the core code for payouts was finished yesterday. I'll be doing some additional testing and if all goes well the 1.0 balances will start being shifted into available balances (yes, for withdraw) slowly starting Saturday.
That's all fine and dandy but none of my previous balances show up. I don't think I'm the only one either. It wasn't much but why don't they show up? You have to register with your same address that you used before, and if you don't see old balances, just submit a support ticket.
