3201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What just happened with LTC??? on: January 25, 2015, 04:02:31 AM
Two possible reasons:

1) reddit AMA with developers yesterday where aspect mentioned some possible upcoming integration with banks:
http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/2tgjto/official_litecoin_developers_and_litecoin/

2) ltcgear came back online apparently

How do you generate a Payment ID with simple wallet?  Or can you?

You can't, afaik, but you can use this website:
https://www.grc.com/passwords.htm

Payment id is just a 64 character hex string, so you can just grab what's in the "64 random hexadecimal characters (0-9 and A-F)" field.

Tippero has just learned Blackjack!

Those of you who like card game may relish the prospects of playing casino blackjack in #tippero, or directly one on one with tippero.

And as for the dice game, Tippero's blackjack is also provably fair with full details availaible via !fair.

This is a fairly complete blackjack game. Resplit to 4, blackjack pays the full 3:2. A number of side bets are also available. Insurance available when the dealer's upcard is an ace. See more details with !help blackjack and !commands blackjack

Basic game:
!blackjack 0.1

Side bets (list available with !sidebets):
!blackjack 0.1 over13 buster

You'll play a normal Blackjack game, with the side bets over13 (bet the sum of your first two cards scores over 13), and buster (bet that the dealer busts - the more cards it takes, the higher your payout!)

Side games are independent from the main game. If you lose a side bet, you still play the blackjack hand normally. See the list of available side bets with !sidebets.

Blackjack house edge is around half a percent. It might be between 0.4% and 0.6% Smiley

Great job, MoneroMooo! Tipbot/gamblingbot is really a nice addition to IRC channels.

Major buying on Poloniex !!!

Things seem to look pretty good economically. Lets hope it continues to rise slow and steady!

DarkNote is still so under-priced for such a good coin. I hope it will be 129 satoshi or even 1290 satoshi for 1 XDN soon.

I doubt that XDN could sustain such a high market capitalization with a couple of billions coins running around

But let's hope so, with my 1,5m coins I would be very happy !

If XDN were 1290 satoshi, and there are close to 7B coins available at the moment, that would be a market cap of ~90k BTC, or at the current price of ~$200 USD a market cap of approximately $18M USD, so maybe not totally out of the realm of imagination Smiley

I took what fluffypony suggested to mean that priorities can be influenced by donations, so if this is meaningful or problematic to him, it might be worth some donation to bump it.
I am not noticing any problematic daily changes in practicality, so I really haven't a clue what has stslimited so flummoxed.

Databases are nifty, but they introduce all sorts of issues that require care.  I'd rather it be right than fast.

Syncing tewinget's database build on win7 atm. It seems like there are some portability issues (copying binaries to other windows comps), but bitmonerod seems to working on my computer here.

If anyone wants to give it a shot, here is link to compiled binaries: https://mega.co.nz/#!GZBFyTBB!Vpd6r-z9PmPzzymitHmQe9F7zYk1tNi_lF4PFQbFPGI

Downloaded to my Win 8.1 comp, extracted the files.
I started by trying to run blockchain_conveter.exe but it crashes. Cry

Any help? What arguments for the blockchain_conveter.exe?

I placed it in the folder with the blockchain.bin, ran a command prompt as Administrator, tried it in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode, fed it arguments, ... nothing works.
It just crashes.

Someone else tried to launch bitmonerod, and it immediately crashed as well, and I think they tried on two different computers. So there seems to be an issue with portability from one windows computer (version or processor) to another...

when i ran the bitmonero batch file then bitmonerod and simplewallet.exe will open then after i put my password in simplewallet it says
"you had been using a deprecated version of the wallet please procceed to upgrade your wallet"
after i choose languageput 0 and hit enter simplewallet closed

There's a bug in v0.8.8.6 that doesn't let you import (upgrade) deprecated wallets. You can upgrade your wallet using v0.8.8.4 or you can wait for next release. I actually successfully built the master branch last night for win7, in which it should be fixed. Let me know if you'd like me to upload the binaries.

Someone spamming the blockchain for the last day or so with tons of small transactions (usually 30-50 in a block), all of them with mixin 6. For example:
http://chainradar.com/bbr/block/176315

Anyone have any idea what this is about? Someone testing something out? Someone just being a dick?
3210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Execoin: | First Open-Source Stealth Wallet Released! | Fast | ASIC-proof on: January 20, 2015, 12:16:56 AM
BTW, bitcoin is "abondoned" also ... . Im not so sure, about "abondoned" execoin. Dev's stays quiet. They made their job. Now is the communnity time...

Execoin github was last updated 2014 Aug 9, about 5 months ago, and has a total of 13 commits in its entire existence. Bitcoin github last commit was 13 hours ago and has 7817 commits (all after Satoshi "abandoned" the coin, since the source code was originally hosted on Sourceforge). You're insane if you think Bitcoin is abandoned, there's hundreds of contributors making thousands of contributions, while Execoin has two contributors that haven't made a single update since last summer. How long do they have to stay quiet before you'd consider it abandoned?
3211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Execoin: | First Open-Source Stealth Wallet Released! | Fast | ASIC-proof on: January 19, 2015, 09:35:18 PM
Execoin is really great. Just wonder why it's so undervaluated. Perhaps this year will bring a change.. Smiley

Maybe because it's practically completely abandoned? They still have ASIC-proof in the topic of the thread, but it's had ASICs mining its rotting carcass for the past several months. There's no volume on any exchange. Devs haven't posted in months. Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I kinda doubt it's gonna turn around...
it's faster than vertcoin, isn't it?

You mean blocktime? Maybe, but vertcoin has actually forked to new algo to stay asic-resistant, so it's got that going for it.

Great show by rickstoner last night on doged radio last night ( http://dogecoindark.net/radio/ )! Nice job interviewing bobsurplus, coingekko, and themage, and letting the guests argue amongst themselves Smiley

Not a Scam... Check it out before you make accusations...

Not a scam, just claiming to accept a scamcoin and payback 300% out of thin air...sounds legit...

Congrats on landing a job! Sounds like a really exciting company to be a part of. Look forward to seeing what the future brings Smiley

Is there a DOGED holder willing to sell 10 million doged for 0.10 BTC? Coin-swap takes forever Grin

Doubt you'll find anyone offering to sell for 1 sat, maybe if you offered 0.15 or 0.2 btc for 10M you'd get an offer. I just got over 10M myself, no way I'm gonna dump them all, sorry Wink

......and back to square 1

dead again......

Me too. I was synced for a while, then I had some peers but I wasn't synced for a while, and then I had no peers and it said I was synced but clearly I can't be synced with no peers :/

Would be awesome if there was a new version that had a working IRC bootstrap, or something else to effectively find non-abandoned peers, and also maybe to combine BCC/TALK names...
3219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypto Rush - Crypto to Crypto exchange on: January 16, 2015, 11:07:48 PM
there is no hope now or never was of getting "solvent" coins back. like how long does it f@cking take!! they obviously dont have them and they fill us full of shit that they going to repay them, not a good way to start of an exchange with lies. if they had the brains they would be giving people back these coins or going out of their way to buy some coins from other exchanges to repay people even a little to boost confidence, silly people. and wtf is these CRB all about?, wel to me its a load of f@cking bullshit!!! wont be long to this will be 1 year from this fiasco and i aint got nothing back!!!

I think most of the solvent coins are coins that have been abandoned and may or may not have functioning block chains. Basically, I think anything that had some worth in last April or so was stolen, and so what you're left with is like Rabbitcoin and Industrycoin and other stuff that had very little value back 9 months ago, and at this point probably doesn't even have a single node or miner left. I agree that there should be some accounting of what is left in the coffers, but to be honest, I don't think there's much of value left from the hacks.

Hello Myridians!

As most of you know, we have a block halving coming up soon!  (Woohoo!)  To celebrate, /u/rentodev and I are running a contest to see who can most accurately guess when the block halving will occur.

...

Don't forget to include both your public MYR address and the transaction id when filling out the form.  The guesses need to include date, time, and the algo that you think the halving will happen on.  Times are in UTC.

...

Oops. I just sent from Poloniex so I didn't have to sync my wallet, so I don't have a from MYR address, but I posted tx id :/

If I win, you can just give the whole pot to development fund Smiley
