I'm new to the world of DCR but from what I've seen I'm very impressed with the tech behind this coin as well as development, and especially its performance! I'm interested in not just mining but also participating in POS, but I'm not sure how to really get started. I understand how to configure and set everything up, but I have a couple of questions How much DCR do you need to start staking? How much can you make staking these days? How often can you vote with a ticket? After you no longer want to vote with a ticket, and want to receive your funds for the ticket back, how long does that process take? Really any advice or info here would be great, or a link back in the thread if this has already been addressed!  Hey come by the slack and hang out! One more delay guys/girls.
Decred v0.8.0 is ready for launch, however, the extra requirements placed on the dev team by marketing are taking more time than expected.
v0.8.0 is the biggest release in the history of Decred, so we want to make sure it's absolutely perfect before it is released.
Reasons for further delay include: hf demo page, a testnet faucet, setting up a testnet stake pool, and updating that testnet stakepool UI to allow selecting the "Abstain/Yes/No" options for the vote.
v0.8.0 should be ready for release early next week.
We appreciate your patience; it will be well worth the wait.
Pretty bummed, but that's ok. Thanks for the prompt update on 0.8 release status. I'm looking forward to next week! I understand man. One thing about Decred is that we will always be honest with the community about what's going on. Delaying things is the last thing we want to do, but when you all see what we are releasing, you will be blown away. |

I lost my coin from airdrop.I forget seeds  I don't know what I do now!!! any suggestion or all coin lost? If you forgot your seed... you are probably out of luck man. Did you perhaps save it somewhere? A text document? |

why is nearly everything a sleeping giant
when i look on bittrex this coin lost worth until the last pump
thats shit. it only recovered the half of its price from the beginning.
a few weeks and it will be worth even the half of the pump.
nearly every altcoin has that phase thats normal.
the chart doesnt look different like every altcoin that has been launched.
Look at the market cap and the USD price. Both made all time highs. |

While I am not really a fan of such activities, I would note that the increasing tone and frequency of trolling & fud, is just indication of wider reach and strong hint of greater interest in Decred. Trolls and fudster's are only really around in numbers when there is value in doing so, and they are purely driven by the desire to (re)buy at lower prices, nothing else.

I have some Decred for quite a while before but I just currently bought quite a bit more. Currently heard about the news about the Decred Presentation on Coinbase. On point, I'm investing quite a bit. On par with Monero for future growth. Easily worth $10 or $20+ per coin after the news and speculating for the future. Great to hear support from Charlie Lee too.

You're saying it is a scam because you bought at a high price and then it dropped? You realize how foolish that sounds?
The same thing can happen to you with Bitcoin. You buy at $1000 and it falls to $900. Does that make Bitcoin "a scam"?
As for the rest of your claims ("coinbase will not add", "hardfork is not coming" - both are false and unsubstantiated).
The truth is that developers are playing their tricky games. They feed us with this fake news trying to create the volume to dump their premine! That is why it is a SCAM. Dunno how you lost 8 bitcoin on something that went 600% in one month unless you bought the top like a moron.... that's your fault. Nothing goes up forever, many people, including myself, welcome this correction as an opportunity to buy more Decred. It's healthy. If the coinbase news wasn't big, then wouldn't every coin have been invited to present at coinbase? The only other coin I've heard of that was invited to do this is XMR, and they are top 5. Hard fork voting is coming with 0.8.0 (due out in a few days), but this is only a capability. The next update, after this one, will feature a GUI interface for the users of Decred to participate in the voting process. Yeah, it may take a few months for people to upgrade to use these features / force the first change through the voting process. I'm not sure how one could construe that as being a scam. Sounds like you're just some butthurt noob. |
